Does anyone have a good online source for organzing your recipes? I have all these recipes snipped from here and there and would love to organize them electronically but I haven't found anything I really like.
If you don't have an online organizer, do you have a 'book' that you like to use or a system that you have found to be really useful....any and all help would be greately appreciated!
I started it because I had recipes all over the place...in my LJ, in others' blogs, on various sites like Food Network, Epicurious, Cooking Light, in a file box, in a three ring binder, in my head........You get the idea.
It took a while to set up but now I have probably 90% of the recipes I've used or liked, or want to try. When I try one that I like, I put it in the blog and comment about it.
You could easily use Google Docs to organize your recipes online. I keep my electronic recipes in a Mac program called Notational Velocity. If I'd been using Docs at the time I started that I would have preferred to keep them organized that way. You can put your files into as many folders as you like, making it super easy to find what you're looking for later.
Hey thanks guys! I'll go check out your blog DOORCHICK and lawyerlee, I didn't even know something like that existed....off to see what these are all about!
This probably isn't the most user friendly, but I keep a word document on my desktop at work. It has two 6x4" text boxes per page and I copy and paste recipes into it. I feel like I am constantly pulling recipes from CC or somewhere else online. When I try them out, if I like them, I will then cut out the recipe and slip it into my Photo album cookbook (with the 6x4 sleeves). I send it to my email on occasion (so it is updated). That way I can access it at work or home.
I would be happy to send it to you as an example if you would like.
