This was sparked from a conversation in my office. I work w/older people who seem to think i was born after the 80's new wave movement. (i'm 31, so yeah i was in grade school then, but still)
So i was amazing them w/my 80's knowledge. and it sparked the question:
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE 80's SONG?
my tried and true fave is:
Electric Avenue - Eddie Grant
Way too many to list, honestly! I would say anything by Erasure, The Pretenders, Pet Shop Boys, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, The Smiths, Kate Bush, Madonna, Prince, New Order/Joy Division, Simple Minds, Duran Duran, Sting and The Police, Violent Femmes, etc.
Yeah, I kinda like 80s music.

Unless you have a degree in putting yourself in someone elses shoes, you have no idea what other people are experiencing in this world.
Oh man, there is SO many! Let's see......Love Bites by Def Leppard or Red Red Wine by UB40. Thriller by Micheal Jackson, there is a TON more I just can't think now, I have Red Red Wine running through my mind!

The most important thing to know is just how little we do know.....
I can't possibly pick one!! So, I'll go with 10 or so:
1. Rio - Duran Duran
2. Just Can't Get Enough - Depeche Mode
3. The Promise - When In Rome
4. Space Age Love Song - Flock of Seagulls
5. Rock Me Amadeus - Falco
6. Everybody Rules the World - Tears for Fears
7. Pour Some Sugar On Me - Def Leppard
8. Livin On A Prayer - Bon Jovi
9. Wake Me Up Before You Go Go - Wham
10. Poison Arrow - ABC
(Really, I could go on All day ... there are 136 songs in my Back to the 80's ipod playlist!)
my tried and true fave is:
Electric Avenue - Eddie Grant
Haha - I'm 30, so I was only 6 when that song was really popular, but I totally remember it and it makes me think of kindergarden when I hear it! I guess that's what happens when you have older sisters who insisted the that the radio should always be on a Top 40 station.
I'm always trying to find good 80's playlists for my mp3 player. I have to say though, my all time favorite 80's song is:
The Power of Love by Huey Lewis.
I had such a huge crush on Michael J. Fox. I think I saw Back to the Future 3 times in the theater.
