Love ~ Glad to hear the HSG wasn't too painful and, more importantly, that your results were good. I got the same "textbook uterus" (maybe he said "everything looks exactly like it's supposed to" or something) comment which is a relief. On the post-coital, I did it with my OB and he said 1 hour, if you can believe that. DH and I were laughing after we DTD because I had to get up, get dressed, and race to the doctor's office. Gator is right, though, the most important thing is timing it w/r to ovulation, and being your first month on Clomid that might change (either sooner or later) depending on how you respond. Although the month I had my p-c test I think I had it on CD15 and my O was CD19 or something, and he said I had plenty of CM by CD15 and the p-c test showed everything fine. I might call and see if you should do OPKs to make sure you do not O sooner than CD14 (or, on the other hand, to make sure you are not too early for the P-C test).
I don't usually O on day 14 but I guess with the clomid he is thinking I would O on day 14?? I don't know. I guess they will do the u/s first to see if I will O soon and then do the test if I will O soon. I had read though that it had to be done within 2hours of DTD??
Lots of women don't O on CD14 whether on Clomid or not. I think I O'd on CD18 or CD19 on 50 mg last month. Maybe you're right, he will do u/s and then p-c, but not to be gross, I'd think they would do the p-c first because the u/s could, um, move some of the sperm around or pull it out. I guess he could always do another p-c test later in the month, although that seems weird to make you do that twice (and it's not really a big deal, other than the yuck factor - all mine involved was him using a syringe to remove some fluid up near my cervix and examining it under a microscope to see if the guys were there are swimming).
I woke up, showered, we DTD, and feeling disgusting I jumped up, dressed, and sped to the OB's office which is 45 minutes away. I think, in retrospect, that was overkill and my OB was being overly cautious. Besides, you need to make sure the sperm LIVE in the CM, since you aren't always timing DTD precisely with O.
Took my first 100 mg of Clomid last night and I had a few hot flashes but it just made me really tired. Thank god I take it at 10 pm.
Is that a side effect of clomid?? Being tired? I swear I have never slept better since taking the clomid and I wasn't going to ask cause I felt stupid. I have one more clomid tonight. I had no other side effects other than sleeping well.
Hope~ I read in another thread that you and I post in that you had said your RE recommend you skip over the lap for now. Why is that?? Just curious if mines does say something I have all my facts about it.
The clomid makes me tired, and my nurse said that's why my RE tells everyone to take it at night.
On the lap, my OB had recommended it to conclusively rule out endo. The RE said that is "old school" advice and there's no reason to have abdominal surgery to rule out endo when one has no symptoms (other than infertility, that is). He said there is a risk that the surgery itself could cause adhesions that could cause problems, and so the risk-benefit analysis leads him to the conclusion that it is not necessary as a standard part of IF testing unless someone has multiple endo symptoms. I posted some in the infertility and loss board about this a while back, but can't remember in what thread, and some of the other ladies on here seemed to say their doctors took approaches similar to my RE - don't operate unless there is a real reason to suspect endo.
Gottcha! Thanks! My RE hasn't mentioned it and I don't have any other symptoms either. I did post in that thread too and was told that most of the girls in there have some kind of sypmtoms but not all of them do. Serveral women that responded to me said they had NO sypmtoms so that kinda freaked me out a little. Oh well I will just wait and see what route he recommends if this cycle isn't successful!!! UGH what a journey!!
The TWW is KILLING me. I can't sleep, have pg related dreams/nightmares when I do and am in general going nuts. I don't know whether I should test in a day or so or wait fo AF to show. On one hand, even holding out hope is better than knowing that it is a bust. On the other hand, maybe it would allow me to grieve this month and move on.
Does anyone know if I have to stop taking the progesterone supplements for AF to be able to come?
Oh, and to add insult to injury I have light PMs type cramps. Which are a sympton of AF coming and are also the first preg sympton I had the first time around. Agh!
