Default HELP! 1st Response: is a shadow of a line a line?

    Hi Girls,

Coming in at 12 DPO and tested this morning with 1st Response. When I say PALE line I mean PALE! Just a mere shadow. Well within the time frame they allow but still!

I used Clear Blue Easy when I tested with my son two years ago and it was a really dark line (Although I was one day late at that time).

I called the 1-800 # on the box and they said it's positive but I had read on fertilityplus.org that that test does have false positives.

Has anybody had any experience with this product? Good/bad?

    TOTALLY FREAKING OUT HERE!!!!!!

    Thanks!

    Ceallaigh

I have no experience with that test. Have you thought about retesting with a digital test?

I used first response with my DS and again with this PG and both times I did NOT have false positives, but my line was VERY dark!

I would suggest taking another brand of test if you don't trust it, or wait a few days and take another test to see if the line gets darker.

It was a + for me!

I heard about the false positives as well, so I ran across the street and bought 4 more other-brand tests just to be sure. My son is 8 weeks old now.

First Response has been known to have false positives, so you might want to get another test. Good luck!

I tested with both Equate and First Response at both 11 & 12 dpo. Equate gave a MUCH clearer line. I wasn't happy with FR at all...the line was *hardly* there....like a shadow that you're referring to.
Here was my FR (squint hard and you can see a shadow )

And here was my equate on the same day...much easier to see.

I wasn't happy with First Response either - I took one on Monday evening (10 DPO) with the hintest faintest pink line ever....an hour later later (after driving to CVS in a state of total confusion) I used an EPT Certainty (digital), and it was positive - highly recommend the digital!

I got a barely there positive 12dpo with First Response, but it hadn't darkened by even 14dpo. I actually had darker lines with the dollar store hpts!

My FRER was so light. I could only see the line in natural light for the first 2 days I tested at 13 & 14DPO. Btw, DD is now 5 months old!

See pics. You can barely see a line.
