    Default Quick getaway

I live in Los Angeles and I am trying to plan a 3 night trip for my anniversary in September. I was hoping to go to Cabo or Puerto Vallarta but I have heard that September is a bad time for travel to Mexico due to rain and/or hurricanes.

I have done Las Vegas and San Francisco a few times so I am trying to do something else. I would like to only spend about 3 - 4 hours travel time since we only have 3 nights. Does anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

    Lori

What about Arizona? It would be off-season (or on the cusp of the season), and fairly warm, but that may or may not bother you. We're taking a little jaunt to the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess over the summer and saving tons of $ on the room--which we will spend on food and the spa. It looks like a beautiful place. Can't wait.

I checked room rates in September--they go up about $100 per night each week! So, depending on how much you want to spend, if you go there, you might want to go earlier in the month.

Mexico, especially Cabo, is typically fine in September. We went to Cabo last September for our anniversary. We stayed at Esperanza An Auberge, and it was wonderful! http://www.esperanzaresort.com/

We fly out of LAX to Cabo every time we go, and it's a really easy flight.

    Good luck planning!

This may not be far enough away for you, but what about Santa Barbara? It's a great place to have a short get away.
