Default My 2 month old has been sleeping all day...

My 2 month old has been sleeping literally all day long. She has been up for a total of about 2 hours. I don't think she is sick or anything, she isn't acting any differently except for the sleeping. Do you think this is ok? Do you think she will be up all night now???

I remember my son sleeping a lot, his schedule didn't really change (he was up to eat every 2-3 hours no matter if it was night or day. Only you will know really if it will affect her sleeping tonight. If it does, try to keep her entertained during the day so that she doesn't sleep all day. It's hard to wake a sleeping baby.

Good luck, hope she sleeps for you tonight so you can get some sleep.

There must be a full moon...Mitchell slept all day today too even though he had a ton of sleep last night.

Tristan has been doing the same. He naps like crazy all day and I am convinced he won't sleep at all at night. Then he sleeps 8-9 hours straight at night. He has been doing this the past two days. I was about to come in and post the same thing!

I have posted the exact same thing (in the November mommies) a little over a month ago with my then 6 week old. I felt that she was sleeping too much. I was worried and was beginning to look up sleep disorders/neurological problems, etc. She was only up for a few hours (~3 hours) and even then we woke her up at those times to feed her. NOW our problem is she doesn't want to sleep anymore. So like most people have been posting, unless there is a change in her behavior when she is awake or she is not eating or not gaining weight, thank your lucky stars.

Babies go through growth spurts. Some days or weeks they will need more rest just like some days they need more food. When they are growing they will rest more. Also it just sounds like your baby needs to catch up on sleep. My DS's were only up for a matter of a few hours as infants. Babies really sleep more hours than they are awake at such a young age.
