Default Eye twitch... what's going on?

I woke up this morning around 7:30, and here it is after 4pm, and I've had an eye twitch all day. What causes eye twitches and how can I get it to go away?

Usually it's being overtired (i.e. not getting enough rest, at least, even if you don't physically FEEL tired - this is your body's way of telling you) OR it's too much caffeine - at least, that's what I've heard AND what my husband experiences with those two triggers.

I sometimes get that if I'm really stressed (and then I start to stress over the twitch and that makes it worse).

Thanks so much for the advice! I just realized I had more soda than usual yesterday, so I guess that triggered it.

    *BUMPING*

I've had an eye twitch now for the past 48 HOURS! (minus during sleep)

It is THE most annoying thing!

I will try the above things.... drink more water, have less caffeine, and get rest (actually, I'm on vacation for the next 7 days doing NOTHING! ).

    Anyone have any other suggestions????

P.S. I had the same eye twitch right before Xmas for about 3 days. What the heck gives???

I get eye twitches occasionally, and they are really frustrating. I usually try to de-stress and eat more potassium, as I've heard that decrease chances of getting eye twitches and muscle cramps more. HTH!

I had an eye twitch about a month ago for a couple of days. I am pretty sure mine was brought on by stress. It finally went away.

So far, so good today! Got lots of sleep last night! Hoping it stays away!

    Thanks for the suggestions!
