Default Correlation b/w fussy baby and due date/birth date

Just something that popped into my mind today as I was thinking about a conversation I had with some friends yesterday.
They were talking about their babies and how fussy they were when infants...and most of them were quite pleased with how well their babies slept/napped. However in all three of these friends, they went over their due dates. I was talking about how I want my little muffin to come early because I'm so ready for her, but they were all saying "no way...you go early and you'll have a fussy baby!" ??

So I wanted to post a little CC research survey.

Was your baby a fussy infant? Was your baby a preemie, born right at their due date, or born after their due date?
Do you think it had any correlation? (I have heard that preemies are more prone to being colicky.... )

Late and I do believe we've got a touch of colic over this way, if not, at least some major fussies.

Fussiness is only during the day/evening, we are very fortunate in that she basically has slept through the night since about one week old (she does usually get up once per night for feeding, but I think that's pretty darn good).

This is true for us! Ben was 4-5 days late and he has always been a happy baby. Hardly ever cries, and only fusses when he is hungry or really tired (most of the time )

Just a day past the due date and she was not fussy at all and slept through the night at 5 weeks.

Had DD on her due date and for the most part we had an easy going baby. FWIW, I remember those last weeks as being the worst with my first pg. Good luck being patient!

Interesting theory, but I doubt you'll be able to find out much from the poll as you won't be able to tell if the people who voted for "fussy" also voted for "early". Unless you have a special mod way of accessing the original votes, that is.

To add my andecdote, DS was 4 days late and not fussy.

I was induced for med reasons and had DD on her due date. She was extremely colicky. We later learned that was from a dairy intolerance. She's always been a challenging baby to get to sleep (naps and bedtime).
