I have a question. I hope you don't all think I'm a nutjob!
I *think* I just felt myself ovulate. But I'm not sure, so I thought I'd ask if anyone had ever felt anything like this before.
I am on CD 14 - I took Letrozole to stimulate follicles this month. For the past couple of days, I've had increasing pain and pressure in my ovary-areas. Today, it was pretty bad. I couldn't walk normally without feeling a lot of pressure.
So I was sitting at the computer earlier trying to figure out what to do for the day, and I noticed that one particular area in my left side really, really hurt. All of a sudden, I felt a sensation that felt like something kind of bursting open and something squidging out of it.
Is it possible that I felt my own ovulation? I am using OPKs and got two almost positive tests yesterday at 2pm and 9pm. I took one after feeling this "bursting" feeling and it's negative - I can barely see the line.
Opinions? Anyone think I'm as crazy as DH does? (I called him right after it happened, I was so surprised!)
Weirdest thing, I swear the same thing happened to me, except the whole bursting feeling. I could swear to you that I've never in my life "felt" ovulation and in fact have always secretly made fun of women who say they can LOL But, I'm on my first cycle off BCP and I had the same kind of one-sided crampy/sharp pain thing yesterday; then today my temp spiked -- I mean a serious thermal shift. So it had to have been the ovulation -- I don't even normally get cramps with AF.
I say it's totally possible that's what you felt. I say run home, don't walk, and BD.
Rebs - I would love to! But my DH is at work and then has class, so he won't be home until 9:30 tonight! We did BD last night, so hopefully some spermies are still hanging around!
You're definitely not crazy.... I've definitely felt my ovulations for the past several months. I don't feel my ovaries bursting either, but I feel what I call "O cramps" for about 4 days prior and then the day of ovulation (if I'm awake) I get a sharp stabbing pain near my ovary.

Thanks, Stefani. I get O cramps every time I take Letrozole, but this is the first time I've felt a burst. It could have been just because I was sitting completely still and actually concentrating on what was hurting at that exact moment. 30 seconds earlier and I would have been walking up the stairs and wouldn't have felt it at all, I don't think.
You sure do sound like you ovulated. As far as the opk's, I've read on my re's website that when taking letrozole a pos. opk may not be as strong on the test as on non medicated lh surges are. Any color change during a letrozole cycle should be viewed as a pos. Good Luck!

I've also felt a very tight crampy feeling in the ovary area, and it;s worse on one side when it happens. Also, I once felt a little trickle from one side to the centre that I SWEAR was ovulation, but I'd just started charting so i'm not sure. I guess if you're a nutjob, I am too! lol.
Well, let's just hope the little swimmers from last night were all there to witness this burst!
Karla, I've felt a bursting sensation before, too. Especially after a trigger shot! Did you have one this month? When I've had that I'll have lots of bloating & cramping, and then suddenly an intense bursting pain that makes me double over. Fingers crossed for you that it's a sign of a really strong healthy egg that wants to stick around for a long time!
I didn't read all the replies, so you may have your answer already, but you are not crazy. You can feel yourself O, especially when you are intune with your cycle. Pretty cool, huh?
