    Default Replacement hospital nasal aspirator???

Does anyone know where I can get a nasal aspirator/bulb syringe like the one we got at the hospital? Our's broke (split in two) and the one's I find in the store just don't work like that one and DS is starting to get a stuffy nose.

    Thanks!

Did you ask your ped if they have any?

Have you looked at the one made by Gerber w/a clear tip and removable bulb (so you can actually clean the thing out)? I was totally sold on the hospital aspirator until my MIL gave me the one by Gerber - it works great and this is coming from the mother of a very stuffy baby who at 8 months still gets saline drops and suctioned out at least once/day.

mamax2- Yeah, I checked with the doctor when we went 2 weeks ago. Unfortunately they didn't have any. The nurse was going to check with someone that she knows who works in the hospital nursery to see if they could get me one, but I haven't heard from her yet. Thanks for the recommendation for the gerber one. I'll have to give it a try

i bought some of these recently (haven't actually tried them yet). they seem to be the closet to the hospital ones i've seen.

Our nurse told us it's actually an ear aspirator....and that's why you don't really see them in the store.

and our ped told me that i shouldn't be using it so much because the suction is so strong and not good for their sinuses or tissues, i don't remember.

It irratates the tissues in the nasal passage.

In our pre-baby classes we took they told us to hang onto that aspirator at all costs! They said the hospital won't even let you buy another one, let alone give you one. I always have a panic attack when I can't find ours! I hope you find something that works for you.

We got a second when DS was in the hospital. I guess there was a plus to that. Anyway, what about the line at Walmart? I think they carry the pacifiers that hospitals give out so maybe the nasal thingys are similar? I'm not sure of the brand name...Parent's Choice maybe?
