I know it is an old wives tale about the heart rate in a baby and the gender. I thought it would be fun to see how true this is. I think they say anything over 150 is a girl and anything under is a boy. If I'm wrong or someone has heard differently let me know.

i never asked during my 1st pregnancy. this 2nd one which is a confirmed boy has been above 160 each visit. i'm 25w now...we'll see if it drops later in the pregnancy.
My baby's heartrate was in the 120's-130's throughout the 3rd trimester and he was a boy. When we first heard the heartbeat at 12 weeks it was in the 160's, but it slows down as they get bigger. I personally wouldn't try to guess gender based on heart rate until at least 6 months gestation.
My first is a girl and her heart rate was always in the 160s. I'm pregnant now and this baby has a heart rate in the 130s - and we're having another GIRL.
My SIL didn't find out the sex of her first. She and everyone else was positive it was a boy by the way she was carrying. She was told that if they were going to guess by heart rate it would be a boy ~ she had a girl!
Mine was just over 150 and I have a boy. My doc told me this "wives tale" and that I should be having a girl. He also added that he was right 50% of the time
