Default Favorite (and not so favorite) Things for the kitchen or cook

I saw a similar thread someplace else and thought it would be fun to have one in this forum. If you have a favorite item, or an item you thought you would love but haven’t whipped out a year later, then this is the place to post about it. Pictures are always welcome.

    For me it would be:

My glass water pitchers, which I think makes a better presentation over the plastic pitchers. Plus, I love seeing them in my refrigerator when I open the door.

Unless I start using it more, my least favorite thing is going to be my bread maker. Two years later I have used it less then 5 times and none of the bread I have made has ever been great.

I use my tongs all the time. Love them. They are awesome:

Right now, my absolute favorite thing are my Flexi mat cutting sheets:

That isn't the exact brush I have but mine sucks. It keeps leaking soap everywhere!

I finally gave up on those *soap in the handle brushes* love the concept but never found one that didn't leak and cause a huge mess!

    Our faves:

Really good knives. We have all Wustoff and Henkel and it makes a huge difference.

Kitchen Aid stand mixer. 'Nuff said.

    Cuisinart Food processor.

Cuisinart coffee grinder for grinding whole spices.

The OvGlove - got it as a gift, laughed and threw it in a drawer. It has saved both of us many a time in the kitchen!

These Dual Purpose Bistro towels from Bed Bath and Beyond for drying glassware - they actually dry and don't leave lint:

    Fun!

I love those same tongs that andrew&shannah posted.

I love my food processor. I use for everything from pizza dough to coleslaw. I have the small version that stays out on the counter and gets used all the time.

    Pam with flour for baking

I also *heart* my Kitchenaid Mixer.

I don't like.....well....everything I own I like, or I would have thrown it out by now. (not a ton of storage space)

Now wait...I hate this ice cube tray DH bought at IKEA...it makes HUGE ice cubes...I hate the thing. Each ice cube is like a small ice burg.

Along the same line as the Oveglove, my DH got me welding gloves for use in the kitchen. I love them.

    Love my Wustohf knives, too.

Oh, and my extra big cutting board. I love having room to move.

I had one of those soap in the handle brushes. After a couple weeks, I threw it away.

Which one do you guys recommend?
This is the top thing on my Christmas list and I am torn between the Artisan 5 qt and the Professional 6. I have heard not so great things about the Pro series though :/

I could be here for days. I'll keep it brief, though.

Love the OXO tongs, as well.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic 12-Inch Everything Pan with Dome Cover--love this pan. Heats evenly and cleans up great. Use it everday.

OXO peeler--I honestly thought that I could not peel until I bought this. Amazing!
