    Default Paris-CDG transport on Christmas?

I’ll be departing Paris for CDG on Christmas day, but I cannot seem to find metro/RER/Roissy Bus holiday schedules. Does city transport run on this day, or should I plan to reserve a hotel very near the airport for the night before?

I know that the metro does run on Christmas, because I've taken it before. I can't imagine that has changed in two years, but you never know. Can you arrange for a shuttle bus from your Paris hotel to CDG instead of switching hotels?

    Try this website. http://67.72.88.51/cdg/

You should be able to use it to arrange a shuttle from your hotel to the airport. I have used it a number of times.

    ETA: wrong website!!!http://www.shuttle-airport.com/

I took the Blue Van from CDG to the hotel and back. I know they had a website a year ago, but I can't find it now.

We're flying in this week, and have a reservation on the Paris Shuttle - www.parishuttle.com

It was recommended to us by several friends, and isn't too $$. I think it's 39 euro for two. I used to live in Paris, and the RER to CDG is a bit of a sketchy route - there are often muggings on that train. But the bus is safe and convenient, if it is running on Xmas day!

We just got back from Paris last week, and we used Paris Shuttle to get to the airport. We were planning on taking the RER, but a) riots had caused the State Department to issue a travel advisory for tourists to NOT take the RER and b) the RER doesn't have all that many stops and we literally couldn't find a way to take it without also taking two or three different metro lines to get there (we were staying in the Latin Quarter, even!). That might not normally have been a problem, since we took the Metro all over town, but it's pretty tiring to take it with heavy bags, as we found out after arriving at Gare du Nord from London and trying to make it to our hotel.

Paris at CHristmas would be a site to see. I envy you.

Thank you so much LandR02, mgrace, and Elsie. I've reserved a seat with Paris Shuttle. Now I can relax and enjoy my upcoming vacation. LandR02, I appreciate your heads up on changing trains with luggage. I had completely forgotten that a train change was likely. I’m usually a little done-in just finding my connection with a bag of groceries.

No problem! We just got back on Friday night, and had a fabulous time. They were just putting up all of the holiday lights and decorations on Thursday, and it was all looking very charming and beautiful. Xmas is such a special time in Paris!

Oh, and we had no problems with Parishuttle, so I hope it goes smoothly for you.

I'm just in from my trip to Paris and Parishuttle worked like a dream. Merci beaucoup! On quite another front, I purchased several french versions of Hollywood films (like Matrix) on vhs, but I the audio & visual are skewed. I know the power sources are different, but are vhs products standardized (same specs but different language)? Thanks
