Baby Sign Language

Hi there-

I thought that I remembered a thread from awhile ago about this topic, but now I can't seem to find it...

Does anyone have recommendations for good books re: baby sign language?

Also, any advice/stories/information re: your use of sign language with your baby would be appreciated :)

You will probably find this on the thread but we love signing times. My son is very verbal and has not needed sing langage to communicate since he was about 1 or so but we still watch this tape frequently and he loves to so off is signs. I just got him a new one for chanuka. We started off with another video set for teaching parents, I forget the name, but it was by Joseph Garcia and it was a good starting point for us, but DS and I learn faster with the signing times. It is important that if you use video that you watch with your child and use the signs as part of day to day communication, while talking. Repetition is key to learning. And watch carefully for signing back, the first signs are unlikely to look like what you have been showing him/her, any more than "ba" sounds like ball, bottle and balloon, unless you are paying attention to your childs context.
