Seeing What Happens

WHO ARE WE ???
A group of CC ladies who are Trying To Concieve(TTC) without temping(taking your temperature before rising out of bed every morning), and "charting" these temperatures on a grid. This group of ladies are just "Seeing What Happens". We do keep track of what Cycle Day(CD)we are on and perhaps note any changes in our body. We would love to hear about what you are going through. We understand the trials, tribulations and many doctor appointments that you are facing on this journey into parenthood. No question is too "stupid", asked too often, nor is any "vent" that you may have unnecessary.

This thread may move quickly at times, but don't be afraid to jump in on the last page. You don't have to read through the entire thread before you join us. The first few posts on page one are some introductory info to help everyone out as well as provide many useful links to other sites with in depth information on certain topics. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over to the most recent "Seeing What happens" thread. This thread starts at the beginning of each new month.

WANNA JOIN US ?

Just introduce yourself and post your statistics so we can get to know you a little better and add you to the list of "Our Family " members which is shown in the second post on the first page. Please post these intro stats in red so that you won't be missed. Wanna lurk and ask questions? Just post away....

Hopefully this is the month for everyone!

DH and I are still in the waiting mode until we find out about my ovarian cyst. Hopefully everything will be cleared by mid-month and we continue on this journey.

Good luck to all the girls waiting to test!

Just stopping in...

Congratulations to Maybebaby on your BFP!

I'm 11 DPO and waiting to test as long as AF stays away. This morning my temp went down a little bit but it might have been because I couldn't wait to get up and go to the bathroom and was afraid if I tried to take temp I'd wake DH.

Checking in and subscribing... I've been rather MIA recently, we had to take this cycle off per my Dr. and it sort of drove me crazy. :) So I'm waiting for AF and then all bets are off for November.

Hope everyone is well and didn't eat too much candy last night. :D

Ladies I plan on calling the doctor today to find out WTF is going on. I had some bleeding yesterday that made me think AF was on its way (enough to soak a pantyliner, but not enough to even spot on a pad when I replaced it). I did take another test today just in case it was some weird implantation bleeding and it also came back negative. This is not a normal AF for me, if that it what it is. My temp also dropped to 98.3 which is lower but not significantly lower. I'm hoping to get a blood test that will confirm once and for all this is not implantation bleeding (its very very light) and I am not pregnant. If nothing else the doctor can give me some kind of explanation as to why my body seems so out of whack. I'll keep you posted.

Congratulations maybebaby on the BFP! Let's get some more rolling!

As for me, still no AF and I'm on CD 31. I'm trying not to get my hopes up and pushing my patience to the limits (remember the Zen!). I will probably test on Thurs...if I can hold out!

Hello Ladies!

maybebaby Congrats on you BFP! :D

CD 28 and just waiting for AF to show. I have had spotting since Sunday, but not enough to change from a liner to a tampon. Still have a little hope taht maybe she will stay away. Otherwise, its on to some turkey making in November! :)

Good luck to all you ladies testing this week! :)

I was a heavy poster on WC, and was a longtime member of Ladies in Waiting until the boards got switched around. Since then, I've been hanging out at LJ and coming in here occasionally.

We were "seeing what happened" last month, just to see what my cycle would do. Shockingly enough, my first cycle was about 28 days on the spot. AF arrived last Friday, so I'm at CD5. We're using OPKs but not temping, as I am not very reliable in the morning.

Hope there will be a lot of BFPs this month!!

Hi - just checking in for this month. I'm 1 or 2 DPO, CD 17, much to my husband's relief - we moved over the weekend and we were totally exhausted, but I pretty much demanded that we BD every day from Thurs - yesterday :D. I can't even tell you how many times I heard, "I'm not a machine!!!!" over the past few days. ;)

Welcome to the new people, and good luck at the doctor Bellefior and Delaney21! Keep us posted!

Bellefior

I talked to the doctor's office earlier today, or actually, her nurse. She is of the belief that this is just a weird period, especially with the 4 BFNs, but because this is just so weird for me anyway, they are having me go into the lab on Thurs. to do a blood draw just to confirm. She said I did the right thing by calling. Also, if the bleeding continues into next week, definitely to call them back after the test.

I feel like crap.

A good friend of mine just found out she's PG and I'm trying my damndest not to burst into tears. This is her 4th round of AI. I am happy and sad at the same time. If 2 women can get pregnant in 4 tries, why can't DH and I doing it the old-fashioned way for what, 6 months now?

Ugh, I need a big margarita and the world's tiniest violin.

Bellefior
11-01-2005, 01:24 PM
Di sending hugs your way. I know how you feel. 6 months of trying and nada for us as well. I seriously thought this month was it. As I told DH, if I knew it was this difficult to get PG, I would have saved myself the time and trouble of the BCP pills when we weren't trying to get PG because it seems it doesn't matter. I just think back of how scared I was in HS and college not to do something just once, because I was convinced back then I'd get PG and get caught! Now that I'm married and we can screw like rabbits if we want to (sorry for the crassness) and nothing happens. Isn't that ironic???

Let's hope next month brings better things!

PS. I'd be happy to drop you off a giant margarita and some Buffett tunes, if that would help...

Bellefior, I know what you mean. I remember on my wedding day, my mom told me before they left for my Aunt and Uncle's to not get pregnant tonight. I told her after I lost Rebekah, heck I shouldn't have listened seeing how it took me almost 3 yrs to get pregnant with Rebekah. After I delivered the doctor asked me if it took me a long time to get pregnant (she was not my normal OB) and I said yes, we had been trying since we got married 3 yrs ago. When she saw me at the follow-up she asked again how long it was and she scheduled me for a December appt, and said if I am not pregnant before than, she would see about the next course of action. I didn't need meds when I got pregnant with Rebekah, it just happened. I laugh when I hear others say, the doctor says your most fertile for 6 months after having a baby, well you sure can fool me. I am already 6 months since giving birth and nothing yet.

MMK

Bellefoir: I think I literally used those same words last weekend in a tearful conversation with my husband after seeing a bfn. Who knew that getting pregnant sometimes doesn't "just happen"!!

Anyway, dionysia, bellefoir, erica, keep your heads up and sending you lots of positive thoughts.

Sorry you guys are feeling so depressed. It doesn't seem fair sometimes, does it? I'm already feeling impatient, and this is only our 3rd month of trying. We got pregnant with DD right away, so I guess subconciously I expected it to be fast again. Hugs to all of you who've been at this longer!

Hey Di! I totally know how you feel. (As a member of the 6 month club...) When my best friend got pregnant with her 3rd, I felt like a horrible person because I was really angry. Of course I was happy for her and didn't let her know I was upset, but deep down inside I was angry too because we hadn't even started trying yet and here she was having yet another. I think a pity party now and then is justified, don't you? ;)

Hi everyone! I guess it's time for me to stop lurking. Here are my stats:

Me: U (29) - (March 29)
FH: H (30)
Married: August 30, 2003
Last BCP: August 26, 2005
TTC since: September 2005

This is our second cycle TTCing but the first time we are using OPKs. Did anyone get positive OPKs for more than 3 days in a row. I got them all weekend and we did BD so crossing fingers. I am guessing l should test by Nov 11th but l hope l can hold out till then. DH is more gungho about this and keeps asking me everyday "are you pregnant"/"do you think you are pregnant"? It's going to be a long 2 weeks.

Well, I went out this afternoon and bought a digital test with plans of using it tomorrow morning. My patience wore out before I even walked through the door....I'm happy it did because it was a BFP! I'm feeling very excited but also super cautious. Unfortunately, after my experience last month, it's impossible to just feel pure joy. I can't believe I just posted this online and I haven't told my dh yet. Hopefully he'll get home soon!

Udohen - I don't know about the OPKs, but I just wanted to say Hi since I'm going to be testing around the same time as you. I think our husbands are opposites - yours is gung ho and mine is begging me to stop forcing him to have sex! :D I'm not going to test until the 14th, though, since I should have my period by the 13th.

MMK - Woo hoo! Congratulations!! Nov 1, and already a BFP!

Ok, only Nov 1 and there is already too much info to catch up on. Welcome to all the newbies. Just a ? Are all of your "married" dates right on your profile (I know your is FutureMrsBeis because of your post)? I ask because I said something to someone last month about not wasting any time getting started TTC when they had been married for 2 years, not just a couple of months. Anyway, Congrats to maybebaby and MMK!!! I hope the rest of us will follow the trend.
Sorry to all of those who have met up with AF. I know it's discouraging.

I am at CD17 and making myself crazy. I just found out that another lady I go to church with is preggo...she already has 4 kids. Why do I care??? I agree, pitty parties are totally necessary sometimes. I hope I didn't offend anyone with my last one...noone responded to it so I thought maybe it was because we haven't been trying very long. I think I am so crazy about it because I was ready to start about 6 months before we did, but DH kept putting it off. I know I can't know how it feels to try so long, so I am sorry if anyone was put off by it.

I had a ?? in that post that hasn't been answered. How long should EWCM hang around and when does it show up? Just before O? If I haven't had any detectable EWCM does that mean I didn't O? I have a Gyn appt Nov 17, which is the day after AF is due, so it will either be a good time to find out for sure if I am preg. or a yucky appointment for my Dr.

Can you please add me back in this month (I was out of the country for most of the last month and didn't get to check in much). Thanks!

Me: Holly (30)
DH: Ed (34)
Married: Jan. 25, 2003
Last BCP: May 05
TTC since: May 05

We have trying for a few months now, but seem to have bad timing...work has been chaotic for both of us since we started TTC, but things have settled down a bit now and hopefully we will get it together over the next month or so.

Wow, I'm really behind. Welcome to all the newbies!

jasma - thanks for your info on the last thread about the ferning microscope. It does seem like a better investment than the ovulation sticks.

jnshanna, looty, jess71903 - thanks for the sympathy with that crazy comment. I'm trying to give people the benefit of the doubt that they may not know how hurtful these comments can be, since they may not have ever been in this situation. But then I get these comments from people who have obviously had kids, so I'll just assume they all got amnesia around this sensitive subject!

maybebaby & MMK - CONGRATS!!!! Hope you both have a happy and healthy 9 months :)

dionysia - Sorry you're feeling down about ttc right now. I know how you feel (on cycle 8 ttc) and every once in a while I need a pity party where i rant and rave to DH and cry, and then try to get back on track.

On CD 13, and I'm feeling pretty positive this month, but not for any particular reason.

Congratulations on our 2 BFPs! Looks like this will be a good month!

I'm just checking in. CD4 for me, AF finally showed after provera... I'm half-a$$ed charting, so we'll see what happens with my cycle. I'm running the marathon on December 11th, and we'll be "officially, really" trying after that. I am glad we started TTC a bit before the marathon though, especially after that 168 day cycle!

Let's see some more BFPs!!!

Welcome to all the new ladies. It's a carzy ride but let's hope it is a short trip for you all!

Congrats MMK!! That is so exciting. Here's to a happy and healthy 9 months.

Jess I just didn't reply to your question because I really don't know. I have really just jumped into this and hoped it happened. I pay attention to all the pains and twitches but don't really look at CM. Sorry. I don't think that any of us that have been trying longer are put off by you venting. I know i have those feelings as well and I figure everyone is entitled to their feelings and everyone's circumstances are a bit different. I may just be speaking for myself but I doubt you made anyone mad.

Unfortunately for me I am back on CD1 again. I am kind of sad about it because it was my last month that I could be due and have to worry about missing any school. That's okay though I guess I'll just have to miss some. Although it is horrible to miss the beginning of the year I am still hoping I will be. ;) Hopefully I get prengant this month and if not hopefully I can keep my chin up by telling myself that at least I won't be missing the beginning of the year. Not sure that will help but I can try right?

Good luck to those of you that are bd'ing. Anyone testing soon?

DI I could've written your exact post. My best friend got blazing bfp's yesterday. While I am ecstatic for her, inside I felt like crying for me. I almost feel ashamed for feeling the way I do.
jbemommy I'm in the same boat. We got pg our 2nd month with my DS so I thought it would be that easy again. Guess I was wrong, huh? GOod luck to everyone!!

Congrats MMK!

Hey Di hang in there sweetie. It will all be worth it once you see your gorgeous little baby...

Erica thanks for the turkey card. It was a great start to a bla wednesday morning.

Welcome to all the newbies. This is a great thread with lots of wonderful ladies. I'm so glad I found it.

Last night was my first unprotected sex ever! I was at CD 15 and have no idea whether or not I O'd. I wanted to BD all last week prior, but couldn't because of the antibiotics.

It's kind of funny. I'm 31 years old and have spent many years terrified I would get pregnant, now I'm terrified that I wont.

Good luck this month ladies!

I feel the same way.... You took the words right out of my mouth.

Wishing you luck this month along with all the other ladies waiting to test and O.

Jessica in reply to this How long should EWCM hang around and when does it show up? Just before O? If I haven't had any detectable EWCM does that mean I didn't O?

EWCM is only around before you O and go away usually as soon as you have O'd, although some have it after as well, but that's rare from what I have read. Some women don't have EWCM at all but still O. If you check out fertility friend you can search for charts that are pregnancy and have no EWCM, there are quite a few on there.

Udohen in reply to Did anyone get positive OPKs for more than 3 days in a row

I think it's easy to think they are all positive, since the color difference is so slight in OPK's. I took a whole pack of OPK's once and they all looked positive, but when I put it in the light to check the darkness of the test line compared to the reference line. Sometimes the lines are the same color which is you are getting closer to Oing, but when the test line is darker you will O in the next 12- 24 hours (I think that is the timeline) Sounds like you covered the bases anyway, hopefully in a few weeks you will get your BFP.

Congrats MMK!

I got a BFN this am again. Today is CD28. No AF so far, I'm waiting till Friday to test again if still no AF. With DD I waited to test till CD30 since that's how long my cycles used to be, and on that day, there was such a faint line DH didn't believe me. So maybe CD30 is the charm?? Here's hoping.

Just checking in! We had a crazy busy weekend, and to add to it, both DD and I were very sick!

I'm CD 30 today...I haven't had a cycle that is longer than CD28, but I have tested with Both a digital, and an early response, and gotten BFN! I will test again tomorrow morning if AF doesn't arrive today, and ask for a blood test at the base hospital tomorrow when I go back for a re-check for my sinus infection.

CONGRATULATIONS to our 2 BFP's this month already! Hopefully that is a sign of things to come in here!

Welcome all newbies!! :)

Good luck to everyone getting ready to test or is testing! Have my fingers crossed for you!

As for me (copied from 2ww thread)...
CD 29 and still waiting for AF to show up in full force. I have been spotting since Sunday. Late last night I thought she had finally come, so I put a tampon in. This morning when I removed it there was only blood on the top of it. I for sure thought it would be full from a night of sleeping. So this morning it is back to wearing a liner and a very light spotting on the tp so far. Ugh, these last fews days have been frustraiting!!!

Me: Jenn (30)

Married: July 27, 2002
Off BCP: October 2005
TTC since: November 2005

well, our grand plan was that this Sunday would be my first "official day" off BCP. But we moved, and I had a few work-related trips to take, so my last month of BCP was very haphazard. I ended up skipping quite a few pills and AF came about 2 weeks early, so now I'm not so sure where I am, cycle-wise. We'll see.

I'm both very excited to finally be TTCing, but also completely freaked out by it. We haven't told anyone IRL.

Thanks for the reassurance, looty (I love your signature BTW). I am one of those people that always thinks someone is mad at her, so I guess that's why I asked again. Looks like it paid off though...thanks Erica, for answering my question. I haven't hung out at FF much at all. I guess I will if I ever decide to chart.

So I called yesterday to see when exactly my Gyn appt. is this month. It's the 17...one day after I am supposed to get AF...hopefully she won't come and I can just get a test at the Dr. and be done with it, but that's wishful thinking. Anyone been for their yearly at "that time"? I would try to reschedule, except this is the 1st appointment I could get after missing my appt in JUNE! I am afraid if I don't go now, it'll be another 6 months, or 1st baby appt, whichever comes first.
Well, happy trying guys! I've got 1 1/2 weeks to go in the 2WW!

Yep! I had my appt 1 day before my period was due. When l left the home, nothing was showing. But when l got to the doctors' and she started the exam, turned out that Aunt Flo had come to visit. Oops! I was not a happy camper but luckily it had just started so it was light. She said it wasn't a problem but that the only issue might be that the blood might contaminate the pap results. If so, l had to come back for another test. Luckily, everything came back normal.

Sorry to those who have/are eing visited by AF- expect twylla 'bout time she showed up!

Jess71903 I have had to reschedule if my appointment conflict with AF time. Explain it to the appointemnt nurse- they hear it all the time.

So still no AF for me- but I think she is going to show. I have had some weird cramps for the past five days. Not the achy muscle kind but sharp contration-like cramps that last only for a few seconds. The BBs are still sore and I'ma bit moody. So not exactly PG symptoms. Now I just want AF to get here so I can start the next cycle.

A co-worker brought in his one month old today (he was giving the new mommy a nap break, awe, how sweet, right?) and he was excited for us to hold her. Of course, when she was passed to me, she starting wailing. But I used the pinky in the mouth trick, and she quieted right up! :D It was so cool! Of course, then DH walked by (we work at the same station) and looked a little scared, lol. Now the bug has me even more!

Thanks for the compliment ladies. It's just things I have read and experienced on this wonderful journey of TTC. :) I have learned more about my body with TTC my 2nd child than I even knew before I got pregnant with Rebekah. Sometimes wish I didn't know as much as I do about it.

my background for those unaware of what happened with me- When I was TTC Rebekah I didn't know how long my cycles were, when I O'd or anything like that. I was diagnosed 2 yrs earlier with Anovulatory cycles back in March 2003. I was only having a period about 4 times a year and was getting concerned since we were TTC. Doctor wanted me to use OPK's and report back what I got as readings, as she didn't think I was Oing. I ended up getting my period the day after that appt and was regular ever since that visit. I didn't return due to insurance issues, until February, 2005. I took OPK's the last 2 days that the OPK's were still good, they expired October 17, 2004. Never got a positive with them. Charted off and on from then until November. I found out the exact day that I was Oing as I had pain for the first time. I O'd on the 18th and I didn't think about taking tests at all. Went unti February 2005 when I found out I was pregnant, 4 months actually. (December is stressful in our home, since it's our Anniversary, DH's b-day, Christmas) January was a bit crazy as well, so it just never occured to me to test. Early February came around and was feeling odd so decided I would test since I didn't have my period yet and it was 2 months already. Lo and behold I was 14 weeks.

I got a BFP this moring! I still can't believe it! I figured I'd use my last test and see if I could start my prescription med I picked up from th pharmacy yesterday because there isn't enough research on it's safety during pregnancy. (I had been out of it for several days) I really thought it was just going to be BFN and I would start AF this weekend. I was so shocked. I ran out of the bathroom saying "OMG! OMG!" carrying the test to DH.

I called my midwife this morning. According to the date of my last AF I am 4 weeks and 3 days PG. My due date is 7/10/06.

I called my Dr.'s office yesterday and told them that I was supposed to start the day before I came in. She said we might have to reschedule if it's heavy, but that it was up to me. She said my Dr. would still see me if I was. I went to write my appt. on the calendar today and realized it is actually like 4 days after I am supposed to start, so I will be all but finished by then anyway. Hopefully I can call them back, tell them I am preg. and see if they want me to wait to come in!!! That would be nice.

I don't know what to think. :( I am 19 DPO and still no signs of AF. I do have sore BBs, weird crams- not like AF cramps, light nausea, tiredness, eating more and repulsed by certain foods. I tested yesterday morning with a Clearblue Easy digital exam and got a BFP. (It was one that said you could test up to 3 days before your missed period. Test day was 4 days past when I expected AF) I tested again last night and again the morning with CVS One Step Pregnancy Test and got BFNs.
I looked at the test minimum hGc levels on the first page. Is the Clearbule Eay Test the early result test (25 mIU) or the plain digital (100 mIU). The CVS tests could be the cartridge test (50 mIU).

So am I really PG? Could I have gotten a false positive? But what about my symptoms? I am going to buy more Clearblue Easy tests today.

I am kind of angry with DH. He wanted me to take another test to make sure "because we probably did not get PG on our first try". Well now it looks like we didn't get PG. I don't know. I am really upset but it doesn't seem to bother him. He is watching TV right now. (Now I know I must be PG because I am being so sensitive.)

BTW He did buy me a beautiful flower arrangement and surprised me after work. So he is not a complete jerk;)

ETA correct # DPO ops!

Oh Roberta, I'm sorry about the second test. I'm not an expert, but I would think that one or the other test may have just not worked correctly. Maybe if you take a third, different brand to see what happens? Or, I wouldn't hesitate to call your doctor and see what they advise. Especially since AF hasn't come yet. ((Hugs!))

Jess71903
11-05-2005, 02:57 PM
Roberta,
I think your symptoms, primarily AF being a no-show, point to pregnancy. You know that false negatives are much more common than false +s. I really think the 2nd test just didn't pick it up for you. I am with jasma, though. Call your Dr. tomorrow and tell them about it. They will probably let you come on in to ease your nerves and prove it one way or another. At any rate, good luck. I have done several additional POAS since my BFP on Friday- they have all been BFNs. Still no sign of AF and I have all the same PG symptoms I had before. I am calling the doctor on Monday to ask if I can get a blood test. I just don't want to wait to find out if I am PG until my appointment on 11/16.
I'll be back with updates.

Good luck to everyone! ***baby dust and sticky vibes***

Disaster at church this morning. My DH and I go to a relatively small church- 135 members or so. We have a group of friends about our age, about 6 couples. Out of them, we were the first to start dating and the last to get married. Now we are the only ones not pregnant or with a new baby. This is ok for now. The father of newest baby got up this morning to thank the members for bringing food, praying for them, stopping in and calling to check on them. He ended his little announcement with "And I don't know if they're trying or not, but lets not put too much pressure on Tony and JEssica. They will have a baby in God's time...blah, blah, blah. He just kept going. I found this thoughtful- it does get old to have to keep fielding the "when" questions and it was nice to know that he realized this could be hard on us. DH on the other hand, was infuriated and told him that he didn't think it was appropriate. I see his point. DH doesn't like to be singled out for anything and all it did was cause everybody to come up to us and apologize for if they had pressured us. It did upset me and I cried on the way home because it did remind me that we were the only ones not enjoying or expecting a child. Anyway, just had to vent a little. I feel better now.

Roberta I'm so sorry that you are going through all this confusion, I agree that getting a test at the doctor's office will definitely clear things up. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the news is positive!:)

Jess Ugh, how uncomfortable that situation must have been for you! It sounds like your friend really did mean well, but I can understand how his speech would make you feel sigled out. I'm sorry to had to experience that.

Congrats on the BFP's

Well I'm on, about, CD 25 and planning to test on Thursday if AF does not show. I have been experience tender nipples which, and I have been very hungry (norm for AF too) , and very bloated. I also felt some nausea this AM but it could be because I was still so exhausted when I woke.....

Not sure, it could go either way for me this month....

Twylla~You can't pass up a bargain like that. Hopefully you'll get to wear them next summer.

Roberta~I am thinking of you and hoping that your doctor can confirm you are indeed pregnant. Like someone else said false negatives are much more likely that false positives. I'm thinking of you. ++++sticky vibes++++

Welcome back Shanna and I hope they find your baggage soon!

Jess~I'm sure your friend meant well but it probably wasn't the best thing to do. I would feel strange about it too. Hopefully at the end of this cycle everyone at church can be congratulating you and your DH.

Good luck to October Princess and any one else getting ready to test.

I am currently only on CD 6. I ordered some OPKs and hope that they get here soon. I won't need them for about another week but still I want them to be here. I am hoping that they will hope me pinpoint when I am O'ing and thus help us get pregnant this month. Fingers crossed for me and everyone else.

I have some OPK's from a bulk website that I'd be willing to part with for a small fee. I think (I will verify if anyone is interested) that I have 20 tests that were $.55 each from www.accuratepregnancytests.com. The instructions for use are on their website. I have never used these since I found out I was pg just a couple days before they arrived. PM me if you're interested.

Hello! :)

Just thought I'd check in - I'm 5 days away from TTC'ing!! :) I went ahead and joined here, but the very last of my BCP is Friday night, and then we're going to just See what happens. It's so funny, I'm having LOTS of FPS, even though I know technically there's no reason! I'm such a dork!

Oh well, I just felt like shouting it that we only have 5 more pills before we embark on this new phase & chapter of my life. I still think of myself as like 12 or 13 (in my mind) and that I should be terrified of TTC'ing, even though I know it's perfectly ok. I guess it hasn't hit me that I'm a grown-up now. Yeow! Hope everyone had a really good weekend!

Jess- I'm sorry about your experience yesturday. I'm sure he didn't mean to offend you and your DH. People just don't think sometimes. I know we all get sick of those not so subtle comments. This is a great place to vent since we have all been a target at one time or another.

Roberta- Good luck at the doctor today. We are all hoping for a definite BFP!

MrsTim- How exciting!!! And the excitement doesn't seem to stop. At least not for me... wow, my last bcp, wow, my first unprotected sex ever, wow, could I be pregnant???....

OctoberPrincess- Here's hoping AF stays away!!!

Not much new here... CD21. I have no idea what my cycle is going to be like since this is my first month off bcp... I'm just going one day at a time. If AF comes, she comes, if she doesn't....

Good luck this week ladies!

Question of the day: What's you're BD'ing timing philosophy? Do you try every other day from day 10-20? Do you try every day around the time of O'ing? With DD we got pregnant the first month, so I didn't really have a timing method. This is now our 4th month of trying for #2, so I'm seeing if you guys have a "tried and true" method.

suiej
11-07-2005, 08:14 AM
Thanks for the warm welcome, ladies!!

CD11 for me today. OPKs were inconclusive for me last month (I *think* I might have gotten a positive, but not sure) so I'm hoping they'll work better this month, or at least I'll be more consistent using them. Even so, we're covering the bases. DH is as enthusiastic as ever about it and believes the more, the better.

Still, I'm confused on the OPKs. I know that they can show different results, depending on how long you "hold it" or how much you've had to drink. Would I get a false positive if I'm dehydrated, or if I hold it for a long time? Would I keep getting all negatives if I consume a lot of water (like I'm known to do) and then test not long after?

sunchaser26
11-07-2005, 08:19 AM
suiej,

The OPK's are kind of tricky it is best to try and use your CM to confirm when you are fertile. Although I did use OPK's every cycle. They say you should test with them when you haven't been loading up with water and hold your urine for like 4 hours... Who can do that??

I'm CD 31 and 17 DPO and waiting to see what happens or to Test on Wednesday morning.

Good luck to all those testing and waiting to O.

Me - My wisdom teeth have been acting up all weekend, I have to make an appt to see about them being taken care of. I was researching it the other night about pregnancy and wisdom teeth. Says you can't be given a general if you are pregnant only a local. I won't know if I am pregnant for about 2 weeks yet, as I was due to O this week. I want to be pregnant so bad this month as it would give me a late July, early August baby (I was due August 7th with Rebekah) but also don't want to go to Disney with my teeth hurting as they are. I am due for 1 more cycle before our trip though so praying if it's not this cycle it would be next. I go to the doctor on the 1st of December for a 6 month follow-up from when I had my last appt with the doctor.

Sheesh, that sounds pretty uncomfortable, Jess. I know he meant well but I can understand why DH is upset. I hope that the shock has worn off now and you guys can get past it. People really just don't understand how their words (no matter how well intentioned) hurt. Hopefully people will stop asking you about it this weekend.

So exciting mrstim! :D

I've been pretty lucky with OPK's I think. Except last month because I was traveling and things were really hectic. I have a pretty consistent schedule when I'm home so everyday after lunch (around 1 or 2), I'd stop drinking so much water. I'd still drink just not as much. Then I'd try really hard to hold it after 2 or sometimes 3 if I couldn't do it. LOL I get home about 4:30 every day so I would test at 5pm. I honestly think the consistent time is what gets me clear results. Because last month was a mess because I was never home at the right time to test and when I tested I was just confused.

As far as false positives, I've never heard of that. I think if it's positive, it's positive. :) But I'm no expert. ;)

QOTD: When we started trying I decided it would be best to make sure we BDed everytime I had EWCM. If it was EW we knew it was time. We tried that for the first 2 or 3 months. Then this last month I decided to try something new and we did the every other day method. I figured the every other day might even be better because we'd be giving those spermies time to build up. :p And no matter when I O'd, we'd be within the window to catch the egg. I wasn't concerned about hitting it right on O day because I've seen many more women get pg without BDing on O day.

Okay, that was pretty wordy. I guess I'm talkative this morning. ;)

Ericka_Jarrett - Your post sounded so familiar to me! As I'm typing this response, I'm sitting here in pain! I'm really torn on what to do.... This is kinda odd. I was coming in to post about wisdom teeth too! :D One of mine is in nearly halfway and actually has a cavity in it, ugh! So I'm in the same boat as Ericka and Michelle. Don't really want to have to put TTC on hold for my dang teeth.

Delaney21
11-07-2005, 01:12 PM
QOTD: My doctor recommended BDing every day during my potential fertile days so that's what we'll be doing.

I had an ultrasound this morning and found out that my ovarian cyst ruptured on its own, so I don't need surgery and we can continue TTC this month!

jessied1025
11-07-2005, 01:40 PM
roberta Any news regarding the blood test. Have my fingers crossed for a BFP! :D

LDS, Erica & Michelle bummer about the wisdom teeth. Hopefully it doesn't effect TTC too much!

Delaney That is great news that you don't need surgery!!

CD5 for me...waiting for the fun part of the month to begin! ;)

QOTD: My OBGYN recommeded BDing every other day during my fertile time. We have done that the last 2 months, but hasn't work yet. However, she stated the most fertile time is CD10 - 15, so I think we are going to pick it up a little and cover CD 10 - 20.

Good luck to all those getting ready to test! :)

It's almost time for me to test and l can hardly wait!! AF is due around Friday so l guess l can start testing from Wednesday onwards but it's so hard for me to wait.

I'm on DPO 7 but l seem to have a semi-short LP. Is DPO 10 to early to test especially if my LP is only 11 days or so?

Delaney- That's great news! Have fun TTC this month!

Udohen- keeping my fingers crossed for ya! Let us know.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth out a few years ago and was only given the choice of a local. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. Certainly easier than childbirth! Can you time getting them out during a non-fertile time in your cycle? i.e. just prior to when AF would arrive? Or just after? Since you certainly won't want to BD for a week or so afterwards while you have stiches, etc. And go for the local. That way you shouldn't have to delay TTC (and you don't run the risk of HAVING to get them out when your, say, 7mos pregnant and in agony from your teeth).

Ericka_Jarett
11-07-2005, 02:17 PM
I feel so priviledged to have company in my agony (sorry Michelle and Michelle) I am not looking forward to having them pulled, I hate the dentist and considering all our local dentists refer you to an oral surgeon doesn't make me feel better.

jnshanna
11-07-2005, 03:39 PM
Yuck, wisdom teeth pain is such a "pain". :p I crack myself up. ;) Seriously though, regarding the oral surgeon, I actually feel better going to a surgeon just because I know they pull wisdom teeth every day and are very familiar with it. So don't worry about that. I'm sure you'll be in good hands. I had all 4 out at the same time too and it wasn't fun but it was also over 10 years ago. My husband just had all 4 taken out and he felt great! He even drove himself home. It was just a little uncomfortable for him to eat for a while but he didn't have any really bad pain or anything like that. I hope it goes just as easily for you ladies! :D

The blood work was negative. I think my beta was like 5. Not pregnant. Still no AF. So the docotr's office hass told me to wait to see if AF arrives and come to my appointment on 11/16. I don't know if I had a false positive test or if I was realy pg and miscarried. I really hope it is not the latter.

Thanks to everyone for all of the great support and kind words.

I'm sorry about the test, roberta! I reallyhope AF shows soon. Even if you did miscarry, know that this early, something was really wrong with the genetics of the embryo, not you. I really hope now that AF shows soon so you can get back to TTC.

Great news on the cyst, Delaney! Glad your TTC won't have to wait!

I am hoping the thing with our friend has blown over. The only think now that could make it worse is if he feels the need next service to "correct" his wrong and again bring attention to it. He is just one of those people that doesn't know when to shut up, but we love him. That's all the time, not just this case. We all kind of have a nickname for him. For the sake of illustration we will assume his name is Josh. We call him BDJ for Big Dork Josh.
That's it here. I guess I will be testing Friday too if AF doesn't show. My DH is supposed to go to his parent's house this weekend for opening of gun season (sigh). Haven't decided if I am going or not.

I don't know that I would exactly call it a "philosophy", but we generally start around day 10 to BD every other day until it's quite obvious that I have O'ed at some point during that time...the problem is that I have been running out of steam around day 16 or 17 and/or one of us works on one of the nights we should be BD'ing (I usually O around cd 20 or so)...We are just not getting out of our busy time at work so I'm bound and determined that this month we are going to stick with the every other day routine and see what happens. I would love to announce to our families at Christmas that there is a baby on the way!

For what it's worth, this is cd16 and we are right on track with the every other day bd'ing so far! Keeping my fingers posted!

Roberta so sorry to hear it was a negative test, I hope AF shows soon so you can (with luck)chaulk it up to an irregular cycle and get on with the babymaking!

I was getting impatient about testing today and wanted to know exactly when AF was due so I counted from day one of my last AF and I am on CD 28 today, 14 DPO. Well as soon as I realized this I decided I would test immediately and went to pee in the cup (never did trust that I could pee accurately on a stick for 5 whole seconds!) and barely nothing came out....havne't had much of an urge to pee since either. If only I had known, I peed right before I decided to count the days!:( Now I will have to wait til tomorrow AM since I didn't want DH to know I was testing, I want to surprise him with the news this time around.

LDS, Erica & Michelle~If the teeth have already cut the surface you should be able to just get them pulled. If you have to get them pulled I would say that a local was just fine (that's what I did). If you actually have to get them cut out then I would rather be put under. That's just me though.

Delaney~Love your name by the way. I would love to name a daughter that! I am so glad that the cyst went away on it's own and you don't need to have surgery and you are good for TTC. I've had problems with cysts in the past so I feel your pain.

Udohen~I think that if your LP is 11 days then testing 10 DPO would be fine. Of course 12DPO would be better but who am I kidding?;)

Roberta~I'm sorry about the results you got those results at the doctors. I was hoping for some different news as I know you were.

October Princess~I am laughing here but that is only because I can totally relate to not being able to squeeze any out. I get nervous when testing and sometimes I have to really concentrate on getting something to test with. :o

QOTD: We had bd'ed every day for the first few cycles, but last cycle I decide we should chill out and just not force things too much so we bd'ed every other day. I think that I have heard that as long as there are no known problems every day is fine.

Just waiting for the fun part of my cycle now. On CD 7. :D

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've been able to check in, so I'm so far behind.

Starting off with the QOTD: This cycle we BD'd every day from 11-16. We've tried every other day in the past and that hadn't worked for us, so I figure we'll change our strategy every month until it works!

RE: Wisdom Teeth -- wow, lots of you need to get them out! I had mine taken out in 2 batches. The top two I went under, because they hadn't broken the skin. Then a few years ago, I just got the novocaine, and they pulled out the bottom two, which were about half way in. It really wasn't bad, or painful at all. It took probably a total of 10 seconds to yank both of them out, and I was on my way. Good luck LDS, Erica & Michelle!

Coming in late on this, but Jess71903 I was shocked to read what you wrote. I probably would have died right there in church. Like you said, this will blow over soon. Sorry you had to endure that!

I'm at CD 19 / 4 DPO. I've been having random cramps and weirdness, which usually doesn't happen until 1 week before AF. I'm trying not to read too much into anything, but am feeling positive about things.

Michelle

Thanks for all of the words of wisdom on the wisdom teeth! :) I'm definately feeling the need to make an appointment. I'm even tempted to find out if I can just get the one out that has broken the skin and is driving me bananas!

I have a bad feeling that AF is going to show up for me any time now. I just feel all together blah like I do every month. Should be here tomorrow, but we'll see!

Roberta - I hope that AF comes soon so you can start yout TTC again! :)

OctoberPrincess - Good luck testing tomorrow!

Ericka - Good luck with your consultation on the 28th. I hope that all goes well.

Congratulations, Udohen!

QOTD--Since this is our first month, I'm taking a very relaxed approach to all this and pretty much BDing whenever we feel like it.

Just to share a random wisdom tooth story--(not that I would advocate putting off care, especially if you are in pain) but I waited 4 years to pull mine out, and it worked out really well. In 2001, my dentist wanted me to get it pulled even though it wasn't bothering me. Since it had partially erupted, he was worried it would push on my back molars (I only had 1 w tooth). I even scheduled a surgical consult with the oral surgeon and everything...but never scheduled the actual surgery. They were going to put me fully under for the surgery and would have had to cut through gum and maybe bone to get it out.

Fast forward to 2005, I had developed a cavity (gross!) on it, so my dentist really insisted I get it taken out. Guess what? Because I had waited so long, it had fully erupted and all the surgeon had to do was pull it out. The procedure literally took 30 seconds and all I had was local anasthetic!

To those with AF, so sorry, I hope she leaves very soon!

Roberta, sorry about the mixed results. I hope TTC can resume very quickly for you, good luck!!!

Not sure what's going on today. I'm on CD19(?) and I checked my CM this morning and was basically dry, but now I'm spotting heavy enough to require a pad. Hmmm... Anyway, I posted a thread in family planning if anyone has any advice. I'm not sure what this is, don't think I'm pg though, since we only Bd'd yesterday and two days before that since AF arrived. I'm going to test next Tuesday. Not a day before (I hope!) I can't imagine that I would be lucky enough to get preg first month off bcp, but who knows. And with all of the baby dust floating around here...

I have some good news! My SIL is in labor right now! They are having their first. A little girl! I'm going to be an aunt for the very first time... :D I'm so excited!

Wow, a lot of excitement going on today! Congrats for all of the BFPs!!

Thanks for all the advice on the OPKs. I think I'll continue to use them, just for fun. I managed to "hold it" for 4 hours yesterday, and I was in absolute agony rushing through the door as I got home... only to get another negative OPK.

However, I've got a ton of EWCM, so I'm hoping that's a more *positive* sign, considering it's CD13.

Still holding out, but it's hard! Although I feel like I'd rather just get AF than get a negative, so that is making it easier. I'm going to wait until Monday, definitely. I still don't have any symptoms of anything, so I'm not too hopeful to be honest.

I just realized that if I don't get knocked up this month, the next time I'll be O-ing is over Thanksgiving. When we will visiting my sister along with my entire family. And will be sleeping on my sister's pull-out couch in the family room.

Well my friend that is due this month is still not progressing. She went to the doctor on Monday and her due date has come and gone and the MW said that she is still high and can't even strip the membrane yet. She is locked up tight. She is anxious to get things going and having her little Micah Benjamin.

Thanks, figure it's the easiest way to sum up what's happening with me now. I am trying not to think too much about TTC. Hubby asked me last night so are you finally in your fertile period. I said I honestly didn't know. I checked it today for the first time in a few days. I think since FL is keeping my mind busy and I am worrying about being pregnant at the same time I probably will have my wisdom teeth out, things just flow by me. Plus I have a craft show to sell at next weekend, so trying to get new ones made up.

CONGRATS to Udohen and Sunchaser!!! I hope you both have a happy and healthy 9 months!

Udohen - that is great you got your BFP so early on 8 DPO!

Michelle & Jessied1025 - thanks for your positive thoughts and wishes!

emmjay - sorry you feel like AF is coming soon. You never know, maybe sofa bed sex will do the trick... that would certainly make for an interesting conception story!

roberta - sorry this cycle didn't work out. I hope AF comes soon so you can start a fresh cycle and move on.

Nothing new with me, 6 DPO. Feeling a little cramy and weird, but that's it.

QUESTION: We're going to a wedding on Saturday, and I kind of want to test to see if I can drink or not... but i know 9 DPO might be too early. What do you think... would you girls test? I think if I did, even if it was negative, I wouldn't drink too much, probably just a glass of champagne.

Twylla

emmjay... if this cycle isn't ours, the next shot will likely be when we're in hawaii... certainly not a bad place to TTC, except that we'll be staying at MIL's place. At least we'll get the guest room, not the family room, lol. That's quite the story though! lol.

mayham, testing will likely be too early, and honestly, if you'd only have a glass of champagne anyway, I wouldn't worry. Have fun though!

No news from me. CD1 since AF decided to show up again. Sigh.

emmjay-I feel your pain. I'm the queen of bad ovulation timing! If we are camping with friends, visiting relatives or sick as a dog, you can bet it's time.

Today's CD24. If I can make it to Monday without any signs of AF, it's a go for testing! I've been noticing a lot of heartburn this week, which I almost never get. Could that be a sign? Or perhaps just some bad food this week! ;)

Hi everyone! I've been lurking and finally decided to jump in. DH and I have been literally "seeing what happens." We aren't officially "trying" yet, but we're no longer preventing either. The plan was to wait until January or February to officially try, but mostly because the idea of having a baby in 100 degree weather (July or August EDD) doesn't appeal to me.

Anyway, so in our 2nd month of not preventing, I am now on CD 34 with some very, very light spotting. I've been very regular in the past year and a half since I went off the pill (always 28 days), so I'm very confused what is going on since AF is not showing any signs of coming around. I've POAS a few times, with the last time a couple of nights ago. All BFN. Since we weren't really trying, I didn't pay any attention to when I was ovulating. It's all I can do to keep from POAS every 5 minutes (I suppose July wouldn't be sooooo bad afterall :p ).

And Congrats to Udohen and Sunchaser!!! :)

Yeah, we seem to be going down that road too - this will be the second time during O that we'll be staying with my family in one house. We only see them 2 or 3 times a year! Although my niece was conceived during a family vacation, so you never know! :)

Heartburn can be a sign! Keep your fingers crossed!

I'm going to try to make it to Monday too, but I might test over the weekend since my cycles are always 27-28 days and I'm on CD 26. Like I said, I feel like I'm getting AF anyway.

Twylla - good luck this cycle! I'm jealous of the guest room! But I hope you don't have to use it. ;)

mayham - I wouldn't bother testing , and I wouldn't worry about it - a glass of champagne (or two) will be OK. Good luck!

Udohen - thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for me! And Congrats again! :D Congratulations to sunchaser26 too!

looty - I think I'm going to try the OPKs next month too. I hope they work for you!

Hi Everybody!

Today I'm on CD 31. I still have not gotten the guts to test yet because I have a feeling that I will get AF any day now (although I am a couple of days late). However there is a part of me that keeps saying "stop at the drugstore on your way home from work." :)

Can I ask a stupid question...
I'm still very new at this and am wondering (since so many women are on the verge of testing...)

When do most of you test? Do you test 2 weeks after O? Or CD 28? Or do you have to wait until you are officially late? I know that some of the tests are more accurate than others, so do you pick the most sensitive (I keep hearing people mention digital ones..) and go for it?

Thanks ladies!

Good luck with the testing! I'm guessing there is about to be at least one new BFP by this weekend! Who's it gonna be? ;)

Ericka_Jarett
11-10-2005, 01:19 PM
You can usually test starting 2 weeks after you O, usually around day 12-14 most people test. Some get early BFN or BFP's when they test around day 9. Some will wait until they are officially late (which is what I like to try to do, but doesn't always happen that way for me, patience is not a strong suit for me)

You would be better off knowing how long your cycles are and going from there really. I try to hold out until CD 34, since my cycles are usually 33 days long. Some people have short cycles less than 28 days, others have exactly 28 day cycles while others have longggggggggggggg cycles

Jess71903 & emmjay -- I hope AF stays away. I'm crossing my fingers for you!

Michelle -- sorry about AF. I hope this next cycle is the one for you!

batgirl -- my dr. suggests waiting 1 week after you expect AF. Umm.... yeah right. I'll usually test if I'm 1 day late, but then I'll end up getting AF a few hours later

GOOD LUCK to everyone testing this weekend!!! I hope there are a TON of BFP's on Monday!

I expect AF next Saturday, but I will likely test on Tuesday (CD12) but only b/c I have an OBGYN appt. Just for an annual, and I figured I'd show her my charts and ask a few ttc questions while I'm there. Though, I'm totally hoping for a bfp that morning so we won't have to have that discussion. I mean, I am 37 so I expect it to take longer, but it's getting to the point that I want to know what my situation is, you know?

I'm pretty sure I'm out this month. It's a bummer but I guess I should have expected it with how stressful this month was with traveling. My temp is down today and I'm starting to feel like AF is coming. She should be here over the weekend or by Monday.

What sucks is I'll be traveling again this month for two weeks starting the end of November through the first week of Dec. It'll be right during my fertile period I think. I hope I can do OPK's while I'm traveling at least this time. That was really missing for me this month and I think it could have given me more clarity on my O date. The upside is that DH will be traveling with me on the first trip for a couple of the days and will be with me on the second trip but we'll be staying with family. That will certainly make it interesting if I'm fertile. ;) And of course this month will no doubt be stressful again because not only am I traveling but I'm being promoted at work and I have new responsibilities to get used to as well. Should be an interesting month.

Jasma, I'm the same way. I have myself totally ready, planning to test on a certain day, forgetting that AF might arrive and I won't have to test. This was one of those months. Thanks for all the crossing that was done in my favor, but I'm out. I really thought this would happen quick for me. I've never had any reproductive problems at all...normal, regular cycles, normal visits to the nasty doctor. I just had myself psyched up for it to be easy. I am starting to think that if I am Oing, it is earlier than I have been guessing because my cycles are being 26-27 days long.

Just bummed today. DH left this am to his parents to hunt until Wed. His answer to me getting upset about this stuff is usually "you can't expect it to happen right away". Such a man. just sees the practical, not the emotional part of it.

Anyway, welcome to the 2 new girls. I don't remember your screen names now, but I hope your stay is short!

Welcome to Zhanna! Here hoping your stay is short with us!

Jasma and Shanna sorry you think that AF is going to show. Hopefully you are wrong and she won't but it sounds like you are both ready to move to the next month if necessary.

Jess~Sorry about AF showing up. I know what you mean about Dh seeing the practical side and not the emotional side. John, my DH, says the same things and he also tells me that I shouldn't get too upset because we know it's going to take a while (this from the guy who thought we were going to get pregnant the first month off BCP and didn't want to stop them until we were already really wanting to pregnant).

I should be Oing sometime the beginning of next week so we are getting to the fun part of the cycle. I have the OPKs ready so hopefully they will work for us the first time!

I guess I was wrong about AF coming - BFP!!!!!!!

I am in shock - I just took a test this afternoon, totally prepared to see a negative, and I got a big old +.

I had no symptoms - some mild cramping over the past couple of days, and I've been a bit spacy for the same amount of time (I felt drunk all of the time!).

OMG, I am so freaking excited right now! My husband works from home and I came down and put the test on his desk. He said, "What is that, a toothbrush?" then he said, "hey, is that positive??". :D

Woo hoo!! I'm hoping this kicks off a weekend full of BFPs - good luck!

Ok ladies. I am confused and I need some help. I posted yesterday that AF showed. I woke up in the am, went to the bathroom, had some spots on my panties and enough to say, "yep, she's here" when I wiped. So, all day yesterday, practically nothing. Today I got up thinking, ok, that was just the start, she will hit me today. I drove an hour and 1/2 to meet a friend and about 1/2 way there I had some light cramping. Again, I thought, "here it is". Went to the bathroom a couple of hours later and had a tiny bit of brown spotting. Rest of the day with no cramps or anything. I just got home after shopping all day long and had another tiny bit of brown. If I don't count Friday morning's initial show, this would be CD 29....isn't that WAY too late for implantation spotting if I were pg? I have a feeling all of this will be answered clearly in the morning, but I am driving myself crazy right now so I had to post. I never used to do this. A start was a start and there was no going back until day 5 or so. Anyway, thanks for reading my ramble. Hope to see more BFPs by Monday!

Jess- Sounds like your Friday & Saturday were just like mine! Usually if AF is here, she's here. Friday & Saturday I had the same kind of spotting you did, no cramps. I did feel a bit of nausea, which I never do with AF, so that got me *slightly* encouraged. Last night though, AF made it clear she was here for real. Your symptoms totally sound like implantation bleeding though, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that AF isn't just messing with ya.

It's hard to stay positive sometimes though this, isn't it? It's 7 months since we started TTC now. I'm meeting with my doc in a few weeks and I'm also looking into acupuncture. My insurance gives a 25% discount on it, so it might be a good thing to try. For now, I feel  But I'll try to stay positive. Good things: 1. I can color my hair this week!! 2. I can drink wine today with friends. :D

Thanks Erica and Jasma for the replies. Sounds like you and I had identical issues this month, Jasma. AF made sure I knew she was here this AM. I get you on getting discouraged. It's like all month is this huge build-up to "test day", then AF shows up and it's a huge let-down. I don't drink so my indulgence was 2 Mountain Dews (I know, how lame).

Anyway, I painted my guest bathroom today to make me feel better. I am a deer widow this weekend so I figured DH has no say in the matter. He'll probably hate it but I don't care. Guess we'll be seeing each other in the Dec. thread!

Congrats Emmjay! I am so gald that you were wrong this time! Here's to a happy and healthy nine months.:D

Sorry that AF showed from Jess and Jasma! Maybe the holidays will be a magical and positive time for you both!

Looks like we are on the same cycle again this month Duke's flygirl. Hopefully we'll be pregnancy buddies by the end of this cycle!:D

AF is here big time for me. Ugh. The cramps are pretty bad this time. My DH cracked me up today and said maybe my body was giving me a really hard time this month because it might be the last time I have one for 9 months. So cute! But I told him there were plenty of other things my body would do for those 9 months that more than makes up for the missing AF. :p

Its finally time for me to join. In 5 more days the BDing will officially begin ;)

Here's all the details:

Me: Bubeleh (27)
DH: A - 30
Married: April 2003
Last BCP: August 2005
TTC since: November 2005

Although I've read TCOYF, were just going ot see what happens for now. I have a pretty good idea about my cycle, it has only varied by 2 days since going off BC.

Congrats to all those BFP's so far, I hope to be joining you soon!

Congrats Emmjay!!! H&H 9 mos!

Jasma- sorry about AF showing up. Try not to get too discouraged. Have a date with DH since you'll look awesome after the salon. Enjoy the wine (you might not be able to drink it next month ;) )

Welcome Bubeleh - this is a great thread with lots of wonderful ladies!

Jess & Jnshanna- sorry about AF. I agree with Looty about the holidays. Maybe you'll get an extra special gift in your stockings!

Hope everyone's weekend was nice. I'm glad that we got at least one BFP, hopefully there will be a couple more. I am feeling like AF is about to show (but didn't Emmjay feel that way...) I'd be okay either way. If she shows I can have lots of wine at Thanksgiving! If she doesn't...:)

Have a good monday!

I'm officially in my first cycle! :) AF hit in the middle of the night so forcefully I woke up b/c I felt it gush. (tmi!) Cramping is pretty rough now, so I'm going to go take a shower and some advil! :)

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Thanks everyone! I am excited, but cautious - my sister just had a miscarriage in August and I just want to make it to my first doctor's appt before I get REALLY excited. I am kind of paranoid.

Although, we'll be seeing my family for Thanksgiving and my ILs the week after, so I think we're going to tell them then even though it will only be 6 - 7 weeks. We live far away from everyone so I think it will be fun to tell them in person.

Good luck to everyone! batgirl - I really did think I was about to get AF, so I hope it's the same for you! :)

Sorry to hear about AF mrstim, jasma, jess & jnshanna.

Welcome bubeleh. HOpe your stay is short and sweet.

CD12 for me, so we are in the fun part. Unfortunately, DH is traveling the next 2 days for work and won't be home until Tuesday. We covered our basis Sunday before he left so hopefully we won't miss our window of opportunity. I do have some pain in my right side last couple of days, maybe ovulation cramping...

Welcome bubeleh, and congrats emmjay!

CD18 for me today, no idea how many days DPO, since the OPKS are driving me nuts. Still haven't gotten a "positive" result, though by checking my CM, I think things are working properly. Ah well, I'm just waiting for next week to test or get AF!

Hey, just popping in to say congrats Emmjay!

I'm on CD7, the boring part....just waiting for the fun to begin again.... DH thinks we should bd everyday from CD 10-20 this cycle, we will see if he still feels that way at CD 14..LOL.

Also wanted to welcome the new girls (sorry I don't have all your screen names)!

Welcome Bubeleh! I hope you have a short stay!

Suiej~I am just starting to use OPKs this cycle and I am afraid that the things will constantly say no. I have tested for two mornings and they have both been negative. I expect I may O in the next few days but I am worried the same thing will happen to me. If they don't give you a positive does that mean you aren't ovulating?

Like I said I am on CD 14 and have gotten a negative on the OPKs the past two days. I am thinking that I am probably going to get a positive in the next few days but I am worried that I will keep getting negatives. We are in the fun part of the cycle and I am trying to make sure that I don't only DTD after I get a positive so Dh doesn't decide he rather not have any other help predicting O.;)

suiej
11-14-2005, 07:13 PM
looty - between having to "hold it" and not drink a lot of fluids (both of which I'm bad at) I'm not sure if I'm getting the most accurate results. Not to mention, I'm still just on my second month off the pill so I can't expect everything to make sense at first. (Not that I can later, anyway!)

Are you testing in the morning? I've heard that the LH hormone isn't synthesized or something until the morning, so it shows up better in the middle of the day to the afternoon. You might want to try testing then.

Also, I did some quick research just to see if not getting a positive OPK indicates that ovulation is not occuring. It is possible to get the highest LH surge in between testing, if you're only testing every 24 hours.

Here's a good FAQ on it... (http://www.peeonastick.com/opkfaq.html#12)

As you can see, I've been reading up on it a lot lately, but I'm still hopeful that my body is doing the right thing, even if I can't "see" it!

suiej -- good luck, I hope your wait goes by quickly!

looty -- hope you get your + OPK soon! I always get paranoid we'll miss O, and end up BDing too early, and then I get nervous that we'll be too tired from BDing too many times in a row, and them somehow miss O. Blah!

OctoberPrincess -- good luck on your BDing strategy! We BD'd 11-16 this cycle, but I'm also charting, so I was kind of glad to see my temp rise so we could give BD a rest!

jessied1025 -- I hope your timing works out for you this month!

mrstim -- sorry AF hit you hard. Best of luck on TTC!!

batgirl -- I hope AF stays away! I kind of feel like AF is on her way too. Let's hope some of emmjay's luck with rub off on us!

Bubeleh -- Welcome!

jnshanna -- sorry about AF :( Your DH is cute, let's hope he's right!

Not much happening here, I am CD 28, I think I O'd around CD 22 but had pain a few days later as well, so who knows. Right now I have it that I won't test for 8 more days, but I may cave early, we'll see. I haven't been as antsy this month as months pass so maybe just truly seeing what happens works.

Hi everyone!

CD 26 for me today. BFN on Sunday. Not a big surprise, since it was early, but I wanted to know for sure if I could drink wine. ;)

I've had some symptoms, such as a metallic taste in my mouth, swollen nips (though the right one more than the left - wtf?!), and headaches. But who knows, they just might be AF symptoms. My cycles have been 20 days -> 26 days -> 27 days -> 25 days in previous months.

So if there's no AF by day 29 or 30 (Friday or Saturday), I'll test.

Good luck to everyone waiting to test. I hope AF stays away.

Good luck to those bd'ing. I am right there with you!

I am just waiting to get a + OPK. I am sick right now so I am hoping that I have the energy to bd when the time comes. I know I'll summon the energy somehow.;)

Update:

Today is CD 27. Cycles the last few months have been 20 days -> 26 days -> 27 days -> 25 days.

I'm not charting, but I remember EWCM around Nov. 1 or 2. We did take advantage of that. ;)

No sign of AF's arrival today, though very light brown spotting. It's not my usual pre-AF stuff (which is darker).

BFN this morning, but probably still too early for accurate result. Not sure when I O'ed.

Symptoms including: metallic mouth, swollen/itchy nips, thirst (I drank 3 liters of water, a glass of grapefruit juice, ginger ale, and a coffee - which tasted nasty! - so far today), many bathroom breaks (7 so far today, certainly at least partially related to the thirst!), nausea, and a general discomfort like someone's pulling on my lower abdomen. I nearly threw up my breakfast, a bagel and aforementioned coffee, but wolfed down lunch, a gyro and ginger ale.

I also saw stretch marks on my tummy this morning. Which is totally bizarre, since I sleep in PJ pants with a very loose elastic waist (they're XLs!). One pair of pants I put on this morning felt tight in the tummy, which again is weird, since they're my usual size and I wore them a couple of weeks ago. Could just be regular pre-AF bloating of course.

Thoughts?

Di

I still haven't gotten a + onthe OPK but I expect to in the next few days. I am not feeling too good but I am going to try to cover our bases just for in case I never get a + OPK for some reason. I am on CD 16 so I would expect with the longest cycle being 32 days I would get a + soon.

I'm 7DPO and feel optimistic...we covered all the bases pretty well this time around (I think). It AF doesn't show by Friday or Saturday, I will probably go ahead and test. I don't want to get a BFN - those are very upseting for me and I'd rather keep marking time until I'm sure that AF isn't going to show before I test...

Di and Its a Bug got my fingers crossed for ya!

Well, CD3 for me... Actually I wasn't too disappointed when AF showed since I was on antibiotics early on and was told by the doc to hold off that cycle anyway. And I'm glad to know my cycles are a good length. Didn't really know what to expect since I had been on bc for 12 years! (Oh, and I get to drink at Thanksgiving! :) )

The part that I didn't expect when AF arrived... I told DH that she showed up. His response..."good." Don't know what to think...

Good luck with the "covert thanksgiving BDing" ladies! And who ever came up with this description... thanks! I needed the laugh.

Ok... riddle me this, Fellow TTCers:

So I just went to the bathroom and when I wiped, there was some blood. Very light red/pink, 'watery' almost.

Is today CD 1 then?

Weird.

CD 24 here, and expecting AF to arrive tomorrow. Tested this morning and got a BFN and have been feeling crampy and very much pre-AF. CRAP!!! I think that we might take the month off in December. I'll try really hard to not pay attention to the calendar and whatnot. If it doesn't happen by the end of the year, I'll start temping in 2006. Unfortunately, we have started planning a trip to vegas in January, and it would be nice to know whether or not I could indulge in the free drinks. Oh well...personally, I'd rather not be able to;)

Di, I'd wait and see, but get some more tests in the meantime and keep testing. You could be PG but it also could be AF.

I was convinced last month I was pregnant. My boobs hurt, I had the worst heartburn, felt like crap, was exhausted, then I started spotting (brownish) around 7 DPO and continued for the next 5 days. It was enough to need a pantyliner but not enough for a pad. I was convinced it was implantation bleeding because my temps were still elevated and were not dropping. Towards the second to last day I had bright red bleeding which then stopped. Spotted again, enough for only a pantyliner, and then shortly thereafter (next day) AF arrived full force even though my temps stayed high. I had taken tests over 4 days before AF officially arrived, all came back negative. When I called my doctor to see what was going on, she said that while it was weird (with the temps still high), it was probably just a quirk in my cycle. In fact if you go over to the charting thread and look at my chart for last month and this month, you will see what I mean. In fact, my temps still remained high through AF and then gradually declined over the 6-7 days.

I'm hoping that your case is different from mine and that you will soon be getting a BFP!

jnshanna
11-17-2005, 09:56 AM
Di ~ My understanding is that CD1 starts on the first day of bright red. Any of the brown or light pink could be finishing up your last AF and isn't officially your current AF until it's red, red. That's what I always go by. :) I hope it's not AF for you and you get a BFP!

I'll be back later to do more SO's. ;)

Weird, Di. I hate being confused by your own body. Seems like that's the one thing you should know about, KWIM? Anyway, CD 7 for me (I think)...I had the same pink/brown stuff before AF hit the next day. Mine didn't last as long as yours, though, Di. I went to the "nasty doctor" today and told her about my issues and she said if it kept happening to let her know, that my lining could be shedding out of sync. I basically found out today that I have gained weight, might have a harder time getting preg. (due to the asynchronous stuff) and I have lumpy boobs (both sides she said she wasn't worried). None of which are a problem right now, but it upset me. I also got blood drawn to see if I am still immune to rhubella, and if not, I get a shot and have to hold off TTC for a month. What else????
We, too will be doing some covert BDing around turkey day. DH's family will all be at our house, so at least we get our own bed!

I still haven't gotten a positive OPK yet. I tested this evening instead of the morning since suiej said that in the morning it might not show up. I expected to get a + today so I am not sure if I am not going to get one or if I am just Oing late. Either way we have been working on bding anyway. Rather be safe than sorry.

Try not to get too discouraged about the OPK's, looty. They sure can be picky sometimes and very confusing. I still take them every month though so I guess I like to be tortured. ;) One month, the line was practically non existent one day and the next day it was a major + so keep the faith. What's no line at all or faded one day can miraculously become a dark line the next. And just for the record, I agree with suiej. :) Most women are much more likely to catch the surge later in the day from what I've heard and that's when I've gotten my +'s too. I hope you get one soon! :D
