Hi Ladies
My DH and I are planning a cruise, we have chosen the Mexican Riveria, we port at Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. We depart from San Francisco.
My question is, has anyone been on the Dawn Princess Cruise Ship and if so what was it like?
Also, if anyone has any travel trips for Cruising, i would love to hear them. I have never been on a cruise. But I am so excited. We buy our ticket on Monday.
eta: We are going on the 10 day cruise.
Thanks for your help!

Not sure when your cruise is but hopefully I can help. I have been on a Mexican Riviera cruise but not with Princess. So if you have port questions let me know and I will try to help.
I would recommend you check out cruisecritic.com and cruisemates. They both have message boards and Rollcalls for you specific ship and sailing or you can just ask general questions.
I would recommend you take a night light, travel alarm clock, an over the door shoe organizer(to put your toiletries in), safety pins, extension cord with extra outlets on it, a larger mug and big gulp type cup, sunscreen. If you have a balcony room take a bungee cord to hold the door open. I have read duct tape is good in case you have a luggage problem. I will be taking air freshner just because those cabins are so tiny. I also am trying to find a travel fan or blower because my DH and DS need white noise to sleep.
I know there is more but that is all I can think of for now.
Oh yeah the first night onboard, it may take some time to get your luggage so either wear something nicer or take nice clothes for dinner if you plan on eating in the dining room.

Thanks for the info Sapphire, I would never have thought about taking extra clothes with me in my take on luggage. Good thinking.
Now you said about the bungee cord if you have a balcony, we do, but what is that for. Air the room out?
Thanks

I have never had a balcony but I read that if you want to leave the door you need a bungee cord. Either to air out the room or and mainly because people like to sleep with the sound of the ocean. The sound of the ocean putting me to sleep sounds awesome. Also, be aware that some say when the door is open it shuts off the AC so if that is the case you can put a magnet on the door frame. Hope this makes sense.
