Painting Metal Garage Doors?

Anyone painted their metal garage doors? Any tips or tricks that you can share? We're going from white to a dark brown... I'm especially wondering if I need to paint inside the cracks or if I should just let those stay white since you'll only see it when the door opens and closes. Hmmmm....

we just did this about 2 weeks ago and we also went from white to dark brown. my handyman did it, but i know he used a primer and a paint specifically made for metal, he also used a sprayer. i'm pretty sure he didn't pull the door up to paint inside the cracks, i didn't really notice. we also had these windows at the top that we really didn't like and he was able to paint those, too and now it looks like a solid door. it looks great, i don't feel like a want a new door anymore.
