I have a long layover in Toronto coming up. What are your suggestions for someone who freezes easily :) I already know the Eaton Centre...

Eaton Center is cool.... how long of a layover? If you want shopping... try Square One (http://www.shopsquareone.com/) in Mississauga... it's a bigger mall and a lot closer to the airport.

Ha, just realized 4 days!

Once you get into downtown you can walk through the concourse (http://www.toronto.ca/path/)/subways and go to the CN Tower, Eaton Center, SKy Dome, Royal York Hotel

Really, November isn't that cold... just damp. The temperature will likely be above freezing, no snow, just dull.

Thanks!

Actually I should be more specific: I am staying downtown and will be carless.

Cool, the subway in T.O is pretty easy to use, there are only 2 lines!

Something cool would be to go to Casa Loma (http://www.casaloma.org/).

If Eaton center isn't enough, at the very top of the subway line is Yorkdale mall.

And downtown there is a smattering of galleries/museums/hockey hall of fame/ bata Shoe museum........

Funny, whenever I try to tell people about T.O... I realize I never do anything there!! Need to be a tourist in my own city some time!

DH and I only had about 6 hours to hang in Toronto when we went up for an event at the Air Canada Centre, but we had a good time doing touristy things for a little while. We went to Queen's Quay Terminal (*really* good food at Pearl Harbourfront Chinese, with a great view of the water), CN Tower, and the SkyDome - where we happened to catch a Blue Jays game for free at Hard Rock. We didn't have time to take a boat tour, although I've heard they're nice, but I'm sure that's the last thing you want to do in November. :)

I really wish we had had more time to spend in Toronto and could have ventured further out of the immediate area around the ACC. I've heard such good things about the Broadway shows and I really want to go back!

Check out the webiste www.toronto.com that will give you an idea of what to do when you are here.

Another website is www.nowtoronto.com It's a weekly paper that is printed on Thursdays. There's an arts an culture section where you can find theatre/gallery/dance/music listings of stuff happening that week in Toronto.

www.goliveto.ca is also another good website that has recently launched to tell you about performances taking place in Toronto

Thank you so much, everyone!

Meanwhile, my flight to Toronto got switched to a flight to Bangkok :D

I will keep copy these tips for future use, though!
