I just don't buy Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon! The whole time I was reading the book I pictured Hugh Jackman or Russell Crowe.

I'm with you, Sarah. Mmmm, Hugh Jackman. I just love him. I always saw Langdon as hotter ;)

I agree with both of you. I can't think of what Hugh Jackman looks like off the top of my head, but he's got to fit the role better than Tom Hanks??? I love Tom Hanks, but sorry, he is not Langdon. I pictured one of those hot, studious types with light brown hair, and more of a tall and thin build. Am I off?

I kinda saw him as Jeff Goldbloom. (sp?) I couldn't tell you why though. Tom Hanks looks all wrong.

As much as I love Tom Hanks ... I just don't see it. Langdon was a dedicated swimmer, remember? I thought someone a little younger, a little fitter. Hugh Jackman, Colin Firth. Okay, so I know he doesn't have blue eyes, and that they're making the movie already, anyway, but George Clooney would've been great!

i was thinking HARRISON FORD, but a younger harrison. i guess he is probably a little too old now... langdon is supposed to be bookish yet handsome, right? i don't really see tom hanks that way, but maybe he'll surpise everyone.

I love Tom Hanks, I think he is a very gifted actor and he has a way of bringing history to life. I personally think the measure of an actor's talent is how well he can get lost in the character and completely become a different person. I imagine that when watching DaVinci code, I'll constantly recognize Tom Hank's disctinct nasal voice and rather than thinking..."what's robert going to do next...," it'll be more along the lines of, "that's tom hanks." I don't like that.

I saw George Clooney in the role. I'm sure Tom Hanks will do well because I don't think he can do poorly at anything, but I was still surprised. I'm glad we have a while. I want to finish the book and it's taking me fooorreeevvver! I loved Angels and Demons, but can't get through this one.

I always saw George Clooney as Langdon also. Tom Hanks never ever would have popped into my mind.

Tom Hanks is not who I would have pictured either. I actually had Anthony Stewart Head pictured in my mind while I was reading for some reason.

I was going to post the same thing! :D Harrison Ford is exactly how I pictured Robert Langdon while reading the book. I guess I still have the image of Harrison's character from the Fugitive in my mind. That character (forgot the name) and Langdon seem similar to me somehow.

I hope the movie will be true to the book.
