Conrad...our puglet...has been sneezing a lot lately and usually its pretty normal for him to do that but for the past few days he has had **TMI** real snot coming out of his nose....and then every once in a while he will do this **thing** where he tries to catch his breath almost liek you feel when you cant get phlem up when youre sick....and it last for a good 5 minutes...and then he is fine....Hubby said he played with him this morning befor work and he thought he was better...but now...i dont think so....i was wondering if i could give him some benydryl liek i have done previously for allergies and maybe it would dry up some of that **gunk** anyone have any ideas....:D

I'd call the vet in the morning and see what they think. Other than that I don't have anything to add, except that I hope your furbaby is feeling better soon!!

I can't say if he has a cold or not but...

and then every once in a while he will do this **thing** where he tries to catch his breath almost liek you feel when you cant get phlem up when youre sick....

Our Pugs do this all of the time. So does every Pug I've ever met. It scares the crap out of me because it seems like he can't get air! I don't think that it indicates cold since Oliver and Pierre are forever doing it. The snot, now that would make me call my vet if it went on longer than a few days.

I would definitely not start medicating your dog without the guidance of a vet.

Thick yellow discharge could possibly indicate a bacterial infection- pugs are quite prone to respiratory issues. I would call your vet. It could be nothing but who wants to take the chance it could be something that could turn into a pneumonia?
