We don't watch anything above a film rating of PG-13, so I was wondering if anyone could suggest any really good movies that they've seen recently that was rated PG-13 or lower that they really enjoyed. Kid films are okay, but I am kinda kid filmed out and was looking for more dramatic or films that would be of more interest to my husband and I and perhaps of less interest to my 2 year old DD.
*Please note we avoid to avoid movies with extreme violence, nudity, sexual undertones, language, drug use or vulgarity.

I dont know that your DH would like these, but I really enjoyed them.
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants PG.
Monster in Law is PG-13
Enough PG-13
cant think of many right now that arent R.....
My husband & I just went to see Wallace and Gromit in the theatre and thought it was really cute. There is a trio of short features with Wallace and Gromit on VHS/DVD if you're looking for home viewing. They're not exactly cartoons but clay-mations (or some digital variation). We were entertained, at least.
Shrek (totally not a kid film, despite the animation)
Sliding Doors

Are you interested in classics? Movies from the 40s through the 60s are often much more "clean-cut" while still interesting, adult movies.

imdb.com sorts movies by rating:
PG-13 (http://www.imdb.com/List?certificates=USA:PG-13&&heading=14;USA:PG-13)
PG (http://www.imdb.com/List?certificates=USA:PG&&heading=14;USA:PG)
and G (http://www.imdb.com/List?certificates=USA:G&&heading=14;USA:G)
from skimming the lists and my own netflix history, i'd recommend:
* bend it like beckham
* catch me if you can
* best in show (so funny!)
* big fish
* ever after (i have a soft spot for this movie)
* the importance of being earnest (the one with reese witherspoon in it)
* small time crooks (a woody allen movie, quite funny)
* babe! (one of my all time favorite movies)
* because of winn-dixie
i also really loved "amelie" -- it's rated R, but i can't recall made it R-rated... ???

I went through a Finding Nemo phase. My two guy friends at the time could reply to any comment w/ a quote from the movie.
I also love the Toy Story movies, and Alex and Emma is another good movie.

I totally love movies containing Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Sandra Dee, or Bobby Darin. Everything is so fairytaleish in that they always resolve their problems in a humorous and cute way. In fact, I own many of those on DVD now that they've come out.
Send Me No Flowers
Lover Come Back
If A Man Answers (my favorite movie of all time)
Gidget
Pillow Talk
That Funny Feeling
I also catch Hope Floats whenever it is on TV.

When you say sexual humor, I'm going to assume that you mean like gross jokes. I'm a big fan of cute Romantic Comedies, which do have the occasional funny but not tacky sex reference.
Nottinghill
Love Actually
Ever After
Maid in Manhattan
Miss Congeniality
Legally Blonde
Two Weeks Notice
Sweet Home Alabama

Finding Nemo and the Shrek movies are two of my favorites. Even though they are animated, they are hilarious. I also second Elf, and the Toy Story movies.
Some others that I liked:
The Princess Bride
50 First Dates
13 going on 30
Sweet Home Alabama
Legally Blonde (both)
The Boy Who Could Fly
Titanic
The Rookie (awesome movie!!)
PG-rated

I agree with a lot of the ones that have been suggested, but keep in mind that "House of Flying Daggers" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" have LOTS of martial-arts fighting (but not much blood), so they might not work for you depending on your definition of "extreme" violence. Also, "Sliding Doors" is a terrific movie, but involves adultery and pregnancy out of wedlock as major plot points. Hope that helps.

A couple more I can think of:
Life is Beautiful (it takes place during WWII and there are Holocaust references but a wonderful movie)
Pirates of the Caribbean (has sword play and a haunted ship with ghosts)

National Treasure
Princess Diaries
Lots of good suggestions!

Another vote for Wallace and Gromit
The Princess Bride
Barefoot in the Park
Two for the Road
Shakespeare in Love (not sure about the rating)
Scrooged (A fun film for adults at Christmas)
Down With Love
Sabrina (the original version, with Audrey Hepburn)
one word: CASABLANCA
If you are into Woody Allen, try his 80s films:
Another Woman
Hannah and her Sisters (a total affirmation of life and marital love)
Radio Days
The Purple Rose of Cairo
and these, from the 90s:
Alice (sometimes, you have to see what is all around you)
Husbands and Wives (great use of handheld camera, but he totally skewers the Mia Farrow character, and there is an unfulfilled crush between Woody and a college student -- no comment)
Everyone Says, "I Love You" (Wonderful post-modern take on the musical)

I think Shakespeare in Love was rated R
If you like sports movies:
Radio with Cuba Gooding Jr was good
Remember the Titans
Cutting Edge (one of my favorites)
Miracle
PG-rated

Yeah, there's quite a bit of sex (and some nudity) in Shakespeare in Love.
I would recommend Napoleon Dynamite, but it's really a love-it-or-hate-it movie, and I don't know your sense of humor. We loved it, though. :)
Documentaries are good ideas, too:
Supersize Me
Winged Migration
March of the Penguins
Do you like The Beatles? Try "A Hard Day's Night" and/or "Help!"
ETA: Has anyone mentioned "Whale Rider," yet? I really liked it.

speaking of documentaries,
I watched "Buena Vista Social Club" last night. Really cool if you like Latin music and you could see these great Cuban artists jamming together.
