I was sent on a job lead for a non-profit through a friend. I had the casual phone conversation regarding the job and he requested both my resume and professional references. I sent this all last Wednesday and haven't yet heard from anyone, even an email back saying "thanks" for sending them the info.
I know through my friend, that the "big man" that will need to look over my resume was first on vacation last week, and this week is busy with an event in DC, so that probably part of the reason why I haven't yet heard back from anyone. I'm thinking of sending a brief follow up email, but I don't really know what to say.
My fear is that even though I'm interested in this position, that I am pretty over-qualified and I really don't want them to hold this against me. I figure if I can get an interview, I can express further why it is I'm interested in this particular position.
Any suggestions on what to do next?
