Do any of you do this?

They do it in both of my sisters neighborhoods, so I decided to start it in mine!

Here is a brief on it........

This is a fun surprise gift that is left on someone's door without them knowing who left it! (Sort of like a May Day basket.) Print out the poem below or make up your own, gather a few treats, and make a little sign that simply says "BOO" on it. Then put them all in a little treat bag or basket and leave them on someone's front steps - don't let them see you!

Print or write out this poem:

The air is cool, the season fall,
Soon Halloween will come to all ghosts and goblins,
spooks galoreTricky witches at your door.
The spooks are after things to do,
In fact a spook brought this to you !!!
The treats that came with this short note, Are yours to keep ,enjoy them both .
The excitement comes when friends like you ,
Will copy it & make it two,We'll all have smiles upon our faces,
No one will know who "BOO"ed whoses places !!
Just two short days to work your spell,
Keep it secret ,hide it well.
Please join the fun, the seasons here .
Just spread these "BOO's" & Halloween cheer .

Include a sheet of paper that says:

You have been BOOED! Please keep it going by following these directions:

Enjoy your treat
Place the BOO sign on your front door or visible in a window
Within 2 days, make 2 copies of this note, make 2 treats & 2 BOO signs
Secretly deliver to 2 neighbors/friends without a BOO .
Keep an eye on nearby front doors to see how far and fast it spreads by Halloween.

I changed some of the words and stuff, but here are the ones I made...

I think it's cute but some people do not celebrate Halloween. I would make sure the person receiving it does in fact celebrate it.

Yeah I know.

I made sure to leave it for 2 neighbors that do celebrate Halloween :)

If someone who doesn't celebrate does get it, then they can by all means throw it away or whatever.

It's just some fun neighborhood fun.

Heck i'm up for anything though. If someone did that for Channukah, Chinese New Year, Mexican Independence Day, etc I would still participate.

I'm planning on doing a Holiday one for Hannukah/Christmas too :)

Someone in our neighborhood "booed" us the other day. It was a cool surprise! I then passed it onto some other neighbors of course. When I got my "boo", there was no sign or anything to hang outside indicating I had been booed. So, 2 days later we got yet another one! Again w/ no sign. The day that I got the first was especially nice b/c I had been having a bad day. You could be making someone's day :D !

Unless you're close and really *know* your neighbors, I woudln't do it. Most of the people I know would not consume anything that had been left on their doorstep anonymously. Maybe we're all paranoid, but I'd be worried about it - even with prepackaged items.

We got "booed" last night! :D It was so funny because I had never heard of it before until I read about it in this thread yesterday. They were very fast! They rang the doorbell twice, and I looked out the window to see who it was at the door, but there was no one in sight. Whoever "booed" us was very generous. We got a coffee mug, a scented pillar candle and holder, and a Halloween decoration to put on our house. I think I'm going to go get some similar stuff from the Dollar Tree tonight so we can "Boo" people.

We got a coffee mug, a scented pillar candle and holder, and a Halloween decoration to put on our houseAh, now there's a good idea - non-edible stuff. Maybe I'll put together a couple of little packages for some of the people in our Townhome complex. :)
