Great to see you guys over here.

Maya is doing great. How are yor little ones?

I'm here! It's islandbride from WC.

Roman is good except he is having BM issues (sorry, TMI!). I think it's because of the solids, except he is on week 2 of solids and we just recently started having problems. How are all of your kiddos taking solids?

Right now he is on rice cereal and his ped advised us against giving him any more solids for a month. When we start him again, we will probably go straight to oatmeal and veggies.

Candy

seattleguamgirl when we first started solids with Maya, she was only eating rice cereal also. We had major BM issues. lol Somtimes a whole week.

Now that she's eating veggies and fruits, she is going every day. But now she has real POOP! lol It's gross and smelly. I miss her breast milk poopies. ;)

Our ped also recommended waiting until 6 months to start solids, but Maya was too hungry to wait. She was nursing every hour during the day and it was so hard to do anything. I mainly give her veggies. I've been making my own baby food. It's so easy! My girl LOVES to eat!

I just started Greydon on solids this week (rice cereal) and I can already tell the difference in his poops. Poor guy was struggling this morning after not going for a couple days. He's been a once a day man for quite a while, so I know it's the cereal. I'm thinking about starting veggies within the next couple days. He's loving the solids so far, so I figure, why not?? He's almost 5 months. Will be on the 18th...

Thanks for the BM after solids feedback, ladies. :) Roman FINALLY went after four days. By far, the longest time b/w poops!

Now that he finally went, I am going to stop rice cereal. I think I'll start him on veggies and wait on the whole grains until six months.

Candy, what veggies did you start Maya on? I plan on making my own baby food too. I plan on starting him on avocado tomorrow.

Hey guys :) We're in a similar place with Sammy and solids. We did rice cereal for a few weeks and now I'm doing oatmeal for a few more but waiting until closer to 6 months for veggies and fruits. She's still having poopies every day but she seems to work a little harder at it than she used to. I'm looking forward to trying the fun stuff like peaches and avocado! I feel that we're all pretty lucky to be introducing this stuff in the summer when everything is fresh (if you're doing homemade).

We started Roman on avocado today and he seemed to like it! Any suggestions for another veggie to start him on next week?

Candy

Maya LOVES sweet potato and acorn squash. She had avocado for the first time 2 days ago and liked that a lot too.

She doesn't really care for green beans and peas though.

Hello! Everyone is slowly disappearing from WC, so I thought I would come find you!

Nate and Catie love squash and sweet tatos, but neither are too sure about the green beans. I love the faces, though!!!

Candy

The faces are awesome! Miss Maya sure loves to eat. lol Glad you made it over here Journey

Today I made prunes for Maya. Her poops have been so hard. She LOVED them. :D With every bite she said, "ummmm". It was adorable.

Prunes, huh? Glad she liked them!!

Good to see you guys over here. I miss reading how all the babies are doing.

Wow, Journey, Catie really does look like she's ready to move! Sammy's sticking with rolling so far, although she still only goes back to belly which makes her yell for us to roll her back over. :p

How can they already be 5 months old?!?

MrsT
07-14-2005, 12:09 PM
Hi ladies. I gave up on WC - couldn't figure out how to get my old name back and don't have time to deal with it. Plus, I hated how you couldn't read all the previous posts when making your replies - made SOs way too hard...

So here we are (well, and on LJ too)

Journey - Catie does look ready to crawl off!

As for solids, we're still waiting, just don't feel like Elliott's ready. As for the constipation, I've heard 2 things - skip the rice cereal and go for oatmeal and if you're bfing, do so beforehand - it supposedly helps with the constipation.

Where else in the world are other kid's poops so interesting??

Elliott is doing great too - rolling ALL the time. He actually prefers his stomach nw (used to scream bloody murder when on it!) and will roll onto it any chance he gets. He's trying hard to scoot on his tummy and can get his butt up in the air but can't support his weight with his arms. It's so crazy how active he is as compared to a month ago.

seattleguamgirl

OMG Journey, Catie is about to crawl! How crazy! It seems like our babes were born just yesterday. :)

For some reason, I keep losing this thread! Or maybe it is my mind I am losing... :o

I took Nathan to the Dr yesterday because he throws up all the time. Dr said he has an extreme case of reflux, but he is growing fine, so I am supposed to back off milk a bit and add more solids to see if that helps. I sure hope it does.

I am starting to notice how the twins calm each other. Nathan gets pretty upset when he is the first one up and you put him down. He hates to be alone, but as soon and Sissy is up and next to him, he is perfectly happy. He is definetely the lover of the 2, and Catie is Miss Happy. She rarely cries anymore, even when she is awake in her bed (unless it is nap time...) She just waits up on all 4's for you to come get her. When I go in the room, her little head is popping above the bumper and she has the biggest smile.

Hope to see some new pictures soon! I know the babies are all getting so big!!! :D

This is from last week. Morgann's first trip to the beach:) I think she liked it - but not out far b/c the water was wicked cold!

We had a playgroup today. It was fun. Playing with other little ones her age really does wear her out though....so she is napping ...yay!

HGMorgann, what a sweet little chunker! Wow, she's really sitting up well!

Not much new here. Sammy went to her first Gymboree class today and it was pretty fun! I think we'll continue so she can start to experience a little more of the world beyond just us at home. Had my birthday on Sunday...this year is going so fast! It was a nice day, though. Glad to see some more posts over here. I miss reading about everyone everyday.

journey - hope the changes will help nate's reflux. i love hearing stories about their twin relationship - so sweet that they have that bond. the pic in the tub is too cute!!

hannah - morgan is so big! such a doll!

sarakat - i didn't know we could start gymboree already. i'm dying to meet other moms - must check into that... AND HAPPY BELATED BDAY!!!

we're doing great - we've got a first tooth!! i can't believe he'll be 5 months on Sunday. time really is flying.

Thanks MrsT! Dh picked up a few Gymbo outfits I had been eyeing for Sam for my bday and they slipped a brochure in the bag for their classes. Their GymBabies class is 0-6 months and GymCrawlers is 6-12 months. We sat in on a preview of GymBabies and it was recommended that we sit in on a preview for GymCrawlers next week. I too am really interested in meeting some other moms and Sammy seemed to enjoy the different play than we do at home so I think we'll probably enroll.

Congrats to Elliott on his first tooth :) We're still all gums over here!

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

We're still all gums over here too. :)

Roman is doing well--still laughing up a storm and rolling like there's no tomorrow. He *almost* got up on all fours--his legs were cooperating but I don't think he has enough arm strength yet.

One thing that concerns me is that he has no interest in grabbing toys and putting them in his mouth. He touches the toys in his exersaucer but seems more content to look at the toys, kwim? He has always been a "visual" baby--loves to look at people and pictures AND likes to look at toys when I play with him, but does not take the initiative to grab. He occasionally grabs his paci and will try to put that in his mouth, but that's about it. Otherwise, he is content to chomp on all of his fingers on a regular basis. Should I be worried?

Roman and I officially move to Seattle in two weeks. I can't wait. DH is already there (comes home on weekends) and we miss him so much. I also can't wait to join DH's company gym--there are tons of kiddie activities too (there is a gymboree-type gym for kids as well as a kiddie pool) and daycare for Roman when I want to work out myself! I think I am going to spend a lot of time there. :P

Sarah--happy belated birthday!

Nothing much as changed her Lauryn is still in the hospital, hopefully soon we can go home! I miss her too much!

Hi Lisa,
Your family is still in my prayers!

My sister is coming today! Horray. I am happy to have some help around here and get the rest of our place set since moving. I havent really done Morgann's room yet, b/c she is always napping in it when I have time to decorate;-)

seattleguamgirl - I don't think you have anything to worry about. Will was a visual baby, too. He will probably become more interested in playing with the toys as he gets older. Glad you get to move soon and be back with DH!

Mommy to E&L - Good to hear from you. Hope you are able to take your precious baby girl home soon.

HGMorgann - Have a great visit with your sister!!

Nate and Catie will be 6 months on Thursday already. I am anxious for their appt, I think Natie is 20lbs. I actually have all 3 kids sleeping at the same time!!! I better get going so I can get some things done before they wake up. Hope everyone has a great day!!!

Journey, thanks. :) Of course as soon as I posted that he started playing with a few toys! He still isn't interested with many toys on his exersaucer, but he will grab a few toys in his interactive farm book and his baby einstein blocks.

I think we finally have a tooth trying to break through! I saw a little white dot on R's upper gums. What teeth are supposed to come in first?

SarahKatG
07-25-2005, 03:29 PM
seattleguamgirl I took a peek at the develpmental chart on BabyCenter and I definitely think there's no need to worry. It says

"If your child doesn't seem interested in any toy you put in front of him by 8 weeks and doesn't attempt to touch or pick up toys by 9 months, discuss your concerns with his doctor."

That page can be found here. (http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/baby/babydevelopment/6578.html)

candy - love the pea face picture! good luck with the move!

journey - hooray on the simultaneous naps - hope it was a nice break for you!

seattle - don't worry too much, seems like they change their behavior so quickly at this age - and maybe he'll be more of a thinker anyway... And it does sound like Roman's getting a tooth. I've heard of the uppers coming in first on some babies - he's just bucking the trend!

sara - i didn't know you could sit in on one of the classes - what a great idea! you are such a wealth of gymbo info :p

lisa - glad to see you over here! still sending you guys prayers!

Tooth number two has decided to make an appearance. DH noticed it last night. Poor Elliott has both bottoms coming in at once - it makes for a very drooly baby. He's pretty good-natured about it, but has his moments. It's so sad when he's whimpering in pain. Those Hyland's teething tablets have been a lifesaver. He calms down about 10 minutes after I give him some and usually falls asleep. He's been sleeping a lot since the teeth appeared (in his crib :)).

We just got back from our first car trip - which was a nightmare. He cried forever... And wouldn't sleep. Ugh. Hopefully he will like the plane better - we go to Colorado in a week!

MrsT, thought I'd report back on our Gymboree class experience this week. We went to the Crawlers class since the Babies one was not quite right and I think we're not quite ready for Crawlers yet either. It's for babies who are "confidant sitters" and right now Sammy tends to just fall over :) The class is intended for 6 months and up which we're still two weeks away from so I'm thinking we might enroll in a month. The class was fun (and funny as well. They do this thing with a big parachute where they put the babies in the middle on their backs while the moms hold the edges and walk in a circle. Four kids rolled into each other and started crying. One kid who was crawling rolled on his tum and started to climb out of the chute while it was spinning and this other kid rolled into Sammy and started rubbing her head! She just stared at me the whole time like we were all crazy for doing this to her.).

Have fun in Colorado!!

I just felt Greydon's gums yesterday and his first tooth has broken through! YAY!!! It's the left bottom. hehe. No wonder he'd been crabby the last couple of days. I hadn't even thought about teeth.

Here's a pic of him from the 18th! ;) He looks like huge-o baby because he's sitting forward. He's doing better with sitting up every day. Before I know it, he won't need pillows anymore.

sarah-thanks, I discussed the issue with our ped and he also said by 9 months he should be grabbing things and if not we'll have to see a specialist.

Ugh, the stress of being a parent never ends, does it?

I want to enroll in Gymboree as soon as Roman starts to sit up too. We're not any closer than before--he still lurches forward when we practice sitting or he'll extend his legs and slide down. :-\ Someday we'll get it!

MrsT--I hope Roman is just a late bloomer! I can't get the stress/worry out of my head though. :(

wagsgirl--happy five months to Greydon!

ETA: I forgot to mention that Roman is REALLY trying to get up on all fours! I think he'll start in a couple of weeks if not sooner. He's really kicking his legs and bending his knees to get into the position. He has really great upper body strength so it's just a matter of time!

Hi! Just popping in:-) we are doing good. My sister was here for a week and I became VERY spoiled with her helping out with Morgann. She left today :( I do miss being close to family.

Morgann is continuing to grow up toooo fast. She is rolling all about and can kinda scoot around. This morning I put her in the crib facing South at one end, and when I got her up she was facing North, at the other end. I have no idea how she did that;-) She started grabbing for everything - and I used to be able to just keep her on my lap at dinner - but now she grabs at the food on my plate - she got grabbed a big handful of speghetti the other night. I think its time to get a high chair! I started her on a sippy cup (she never would take a bottle) and she enjoys cold EBM. Its been so hot, that some days, that is all she will eat during the hot hours. She also loves cold water, so we give that to her to help her stay hydrated. She literally went from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. one day, w/o eating and refusing to nurse, so I was worried about hydration and found other options for her, so that eases my mind a bit.

Hope all of you are doing well. Yay for the weekend!

Candy - Good luck with the move. Maya is way too cute!

MrsT - 2 teeth!? WOW!! Hylands are wonderful. I used them for Will and they worked great. Still no teeth on this end.

wagsgirl - Congrat on the 1st tooth!! I love the pics!

HGMorgann - Glad you had a good visit with your sister. I, too, miss being by my family.

Mommy to E&L - What great news for Lauryn!!!!!

My parents stopped by on Friday on the way home from their 3 week vacation to Alaska for their 30th anniversary. I wish they could have stayed longer... :( They are only 8 hours away, but it is hard to make that drive.

Both babies are on the move. Not actually crawling yet, but very able to pull themselves all over. They have started ventuing out of the living room. We got a double jogging stroller this weekend, and foung a single for Will and DH and I have started running again! It is wonderful. I so missed it and am glad we have picked it back up.

Catie and Nathan turned 6 months last Thursday, so here is a picture of them, and one if Big Brother (complete with road rash on forehead from taking a header on the sidewalk.)

I think Catie is close to having a tooth. She is Little Miss Cranky Pants and is slobbering up a storm. I picked up some Hylands last night and am hoping they help her as much as they helped Will. I had a strange dream last night that both babies had all their top teeth but no bottom, and we never noticed because we were too busy looking at and feeling the bottom...

DH and I bought a double jogging stroller last weekend and it is so much easier to push than the "limo." We found a used single one for Will, too, and we have started running again. I am loving it!

At Catie and Nate's 6 month appt last week, C was 26 1/8" and 16lbs 6. N was 28" and 19lbs 2. They are both doing great. They got 2 shots a piece and were not too happy about that. I ended up taking them to thier old Dr so as not to repeat the 4 month experience, and it is most definetely worth the drive.

So we nursed until 6 months. I supplemented after about 2 months, and have now decided to stop pumping when they have bottles. It is kind of hard to let go of that, but I think I did pretty good with 2. They are strong and healthy and that makes me so happy. They (mostly Nathan) still nurse when they wake up at night so I get to cuddle with them in bed a little longer :) I suppose it is only a matter of time until AF decides to make her first appearance in about 15 months...

Hope everyone has a great day!!

Journey, wow, sounds like the twins are keeping you busy! Congratulations on hitting the 6 month bf mark. I couldn't imagine keeping two babes full!

Mommy to E&L, so glad to hear Lauryn is doing better! You're all still in my prayers that she continues to improve.

HGMorgann, lol Sammy grabs at my plate, too. It's very cute but it sure makes eating with her more difficult. Of course it's not just food, it's my hair, necklace, glasses, mouth, etc :)

We gave Sammy bananas for the first time last week and yesterday she started sweet potatoes. She reacted to both of them the way she reacts to her cereal...it's fine and she'll eat it but she doesn't seem impressed. Maybe we just haven't hit her tastebuds quite yet.

I also wanted to recommend a really great book I've been reading lately called What's Going on in There? (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0553378252/qid=1123125684/sr=8-1/ref=pd_bbs_1/103-0637195-8400630?v=glance&s=books&n=507846) It follows brain development from conception through the first five years. It is absolutely fascinating! They cover all the senses and discuss how and when certain milestones are hit (for instance that babies are born seeing 20/600 and they actually see best using peripheral vision. The book breaks down when they start to appreciate different colors, shapes, and motion visually). It's interesting to see what is the result of genes and what is purely environmental. The book also discusses how to encourage the development. The author is a micro-biologist and mom so it's a nice combo of science and experience.

Hi Ladies!

Roman turned six months yesterday. *sob* He is growing up so fast. :)

At his WBV last week he weighed in at 15.5 pounds, 25.5 inches. He's almost out of his bucket car seat!

Not much else going on except a lot of rolling, cracking up at himself in the mirror, etc. He is such a happy baby, I feel very lucky about that. We start solids again next week after taking a month long hiatus! I think I will go straight to feeding him oatmeal so we don't get any BM issues again.

MommytoE&L - so glad Lauryn is doing better!
Journey - the kids look cute as usual! No teeth in sight on this end. Congrats on making it to 6 months BF! That is an awesome accomplishment!
Sarah - thanks for the book rec. I think I will pick that up!

SarahKat - That book sounds great! I think I will pick it up.

seattleguamgirl - I hear you on the *sob* about turning 6 months. Not sure I want my babies on the downside of their first year already. Good luck with starting solids again!

Are any of you on the LJ thread for Feb moms? I don't make it over there and was just wondering how all the other babies are doing...jess&dan, mamatallcott, etc. I am kind of bummed that after being pregnant together and sharing birth stories, the changes on WC kind of split everyone up. :(

Catie has started lifting her knees off the floor when in crawl position, so she now hangs out on her hands and feet. Not sure what she is doing, but it is really cute. Nathan has started waking up about 4 times a night again. He can't be hungry 2 hours after 8oz, but he won't go back to sleep unless he nurses/suckles or gets a bottle. Interesting...

We are going downtown to the park tonight. They are going to show A Bug's Life on the stage at sundown. Should be pretty fun! Hope everyone has a great weekend!

I forgot about our other exciting news! Catie and Nate are sitting up! They still topple over a little so I have to put the foam mat under them (we have hardwood) but they are doing so great! I think they love the new position, too. They sat up and played together yesterday afternoon for quite a while. :)

Nathan has started waking up about 4 times a night again. He can't be hungry 2 hours after 8oz, but he won't go back to sleep unless he nurses/suckles or gets a bottle. Interesting...

Journey, maybe Nathan's hitting his six month growth spurt? I know Roman is waking up two to three times a night to nurse lately (and he eats A LOT every night) so I'm chalking it up to a growth spurt.

Are you on LJ? A few of us are on there (jess&dan, MrsT, EmilyBronte, wagsgirl) so maybe you can join up so we can friend you and you can read about our babies latest and greatest. :) I'm sfguamgirl on LJ.

Journey-Congrats on Catie and Nate sitting up! Greydon did the "I'm sitting up but leaning waaaay forward" around 5 months. 2 weeks later, he's now sitting up like a champ. Although, I have to use pillows, too, because he still gets kinda wobbly, especially when he's excited, then he'll topple over. But it's so much fun to be seeing him do these things. I can't believe all of our little ones are turning 6 months old already! Time is flying!!!

Hi everyone! I do miss the updates too from everyone. We are doing well. Morgann continues to grow so much every day. It sometimes makes me a little sad! She laughs at everything now - especially feet. Foot fetish, ack! She just started getting up on all fours and can go backwards a bit. My husband thinks she will be crawling by 6 mo. She is waking up more at night too. She used to be a great sleeper - but now its hit or miss some nights. She isn't really so much hungry - just wakes up and wants comforted. I heard that at this age they are developing so fast that they wake up more. Maybe thats true;-)

I'm here! I was looking a while ago for this thread and didn't see it, so I thought there wasn't one!

Nathan is doing great! 4 teeth, he sits up (only when he deems it worth doing) and he's scooting all over the place! He gets up on all fours and just rocks back and forth constantly...so I don't know how long it will be before he crawls! He's eating all kinds of veggies and some fruit and we tried a biter biscuit yesterday, but he wanted nothing to do with it. It's been wonderful and I can't imagine life without him! Here's a current picture of my little man mastering sitting up!

seattelguamgirl - A growth spurt! I never even thought of that, but it makes sense. I hope that is all it is and that he is over it soon...:)

wagsgirl - I love that they can sit up now. It seems to make them more content when they can change positions on their own. And you are right, time is flying!

HGMorgann - Nate loves feet too!! That is too funny. He can spot feet a mile away and makes a bee-line for them.

jess&dan - Great to hear from you!!! 4 teeth already? WOW! Sounds like Nathan is going to b crawling soon, too...what a busy little man you have there :) He looks like such a big boy in his picture.

The twinnies had cheerios with their lunch today and they both loved them. They are also taking to using sippy cups, which is a good thing. And this morning I felt gums...and they both have their 1st bottom tooth!!!!! I felt yesterday and nothing. I think their 2nd ones are not too far behind because they are really lumpy. Catie has mastered sitting from crawl position and vice versa. Nate is almost there, but has a little too much momentum, so on the way up he keeps going until he finds the floor. I went in to get them this morning after nap, and Catie was on her knees holding onto the side of the crib. Not sure I am ready for that yet! Catie can crawl a tiny bit, Nate is really close, and they are both close to breaking the speed limit when it comes to slithering. They seem to be learning so many new things at once...and Mama is just holding on for the ride!! And I am not even going to get into what big brother has been up too... :D

I saw a quote by Mother Teresa this weekend "I know God promises not to give me more that I can handle. I just wish He didn't trust me so much."

Journey: Yep, 4 teeth! My family teeths really early, so it wasn't too surprising. My grandma swears up and down that my aunt had her first tooth at 3 months and I believe her after seeing how quickly Nathan's have popped through! That's great that the twins are learning to sit from a crawling position. Nathan has not done that yet, but I'm sure it will be one of those things he all of a sudden does...like everything else. :) So you have the twins eating cheerios? I'm so afraid to start stuff like that...how did you know they were ready and wouldn't choke?

SarahKatG

Wow, cheerios already?! Sammy gagged last week when her banana mush was too thick lol!

Jess, with 4 teeth it sounds like Nathan will be ready for cheerios soon.

Anyone have experience with those Gerber fruit puff things? They look pretty good and I've heard they dissolve more easily than cheerios for early eaters.

Maya is doing great! She smiles constantly and her giggles are music to my ears. She's such a happy baby.

We moved into a new house on Friday. We have so much more space now and Maya has a play room. YAY, no more baby gear all over the house.

She is so close to sitting up. Should be any day now. She started pushing up onto her knees when on the floor. She still doesn't roll over yet from back to tummy though. I think that's because she sleeps on her tummy.

She loves eating solids. I usually give them to her twice a day. Lunch time and before bed. We are still breastfeeding which we both love. Martin was sick a couple weeks ago, than I caught his cold. I just started feeling better. Maya never caught it though which I am thrilled about. That's the main reason I wish I could BF forever. lol

Sara I bought the veggie puffs after trying a few at my friends house. They're good, but I want to wait a bit longer before I give them to Maya. Even though they are tiny & dissolve quickly, I broke them in half before I let her have them. I bought the sweet potato and she liked them a lot.

Our babies are growing up way too quickly. I can't believe Maya will be 6 months next week.

I know a lot of the babies have already turned six months already ---but I just don't want Morgann to do that! Its inevitable though, huh? I am thrilled at watching her grow, learn, develop -but she is doing it toooo fast! Where did 1/2 a year go?

If only she would stay little just a little longer....her Carter's "Stay Little" dress is almost too small, too!

OK, I will stop lamenting....its really awesome watching all the sweet babies grow up here! They are wonderful, aren't they?

We actually started with the Gerber veggie puffs a couple weeks ago, and they turn to mush in their mouths. They both did really well with them. I ran out of those, so we decided to try cheerios. Catie is really good at putting them in her mouth herself, and Natie still needs a little help, but he is great at mauling them around. Babies don't actually use their first teeth for chewing anyway, they just gum them. I would start with the puffs, and if they can move them around, then they would probaby be fine with cheerios in a couple weeks or so. The puffs are a good way to see if your little eater is ready. That is just me, though...:)

Candy: Maya sounds like she is doing great! I feel so relieved after I am sick and Nathan doesn't get it. I'm glad Maya missed out on that cold! And hurray for her almost sitting up and getting up on her knees!

Journey: I'm going to get some puffs this weekend. I hope Nathan will like them. He hated the biter buiscut I gave him, but probably because it was harder than he's used to. I'm looking forward to him trying foods!

Nathan had his 6-month check up today. He is very healthy and developing normally. He had a huge growth spurt, though, and shot up 3 1/2 inches in 2 months! He's now 29 inches and went from the 55th percentile to the 90th! He's weighing in at 18 lbs. 6 oz. and is still in the 75th percentile for that. His head is around the 25th - 30th which is what it has been at, so he's doing well everywhere! He had to get 3 shots today, which was not fun at all, but he seems to be doing okay. I hate having to put him through that. Apparently it was shot day for all little kids because there was crazy crying everywhere in there! Poor kids!

jess&dan - Sounds like Nathan is doing great!

Catie is officially pulling herself up on things. I had to lower her crib mattress last night because she wouldn't stop standing. Natie figured out how to sit from crawl mode and vice versa without falling over. I am still waiting for them to actually crawl instead of slither, but I am sure that will come soon enough. They are both rocking like crazy. Now that they have discovered the house beyond the living room, I am constantly running around looking for kids. But when I get back to where I spotted one, they are no longer there...fast little buggers. Their favorite thing so far is the bowl of water for the dog and cats... :D Might have to find a new home for that. But for the moment, they are all asleep. Best go get a couple things done...Have a great day everyone! :)

Today was Samantha's 6 month check up. She's 27 inches tall and weighs 19lbs 2oz! Her height, weight, and head all measured between the 75th and 90th percentiles. I'm glad her height caught up with her weight (formerly 50th and 90th percentiles!) so she's big but in proportion. Then she had her three shots. She handled it well and didn't fuss till this afternoon when the Tylenol wore off. Now she's sleeping :)

She's sitting well and rolling is her preferred way of getting around right now. That's amazing that Catie is pulling herself up! Sammy is pushing up so high, she just needs to coordinate her legs and she'll be in the crawling business. No teeth yet (which is ok with me, I'm not looking forward to the biting).

Glad everyone is doing well!

She's now cutting her second tooth. Poor baby. :( She was absolutely miserable this afternoon/evening.

Sara The biting is NOT fun. Maya bit my nipple tonight before bed and it didn't feel very good.

Hello All! We now have two official crawlers. They still scoot when they get tired, but they are starting off on all fours. Catie has her 2 bottom teeth, and Natie is working on the 2nd. Catie is standing up on everything. That can't be a good sign...I am not ready for walkers! They are sleeping better at night again, which is good.

SaraKat - You do have a big girl! Natie was 20.3 last Friday, so he isn't exactly small himself!

Candy - It will be nice when the teething is all over, they will feel so much better. I love the 2 bottoms, though! Such cute little smiles. :)

Blondegirl - Great to hear from you! Be sure to let us know when you find out what you are having.

I am attempting a few pictures. My camera is toast so I am using DHs. His is a pain, though, and makes the pics so big, so I am just going to try the little ones. Hopefully you can see them!

Hi everyone! I haven't been very good at keeping up :o Hard with a kid who doesn't like to sleep alone anymore!!

Candy - congrats on the new tooth! The biting does suck, E does it every now and then and I have to bite my tongue to keep from shrieking and scaring him!!

Journey - congrats (is that the right word?) on the crawling! The twins are just precious - I'm sure you have your hands full!!

Sara - sounds like Sammy is doing well! All of our kids are sitting and getting ready to (or already) move!

Blondegirl - I was just wondering how you were! Glad things are going well and that you are feeling good! Can't wait to find out the sex - how exciting to be going through this again with you!!

Jess - I hadn't realized Nathan was 29"! No wonder he looks like a little kid to me - he's already as tall as one!!

Elliott is doing great - we have our 6 month appointment tomorrow so I'm sure I'll come back to update. He's rolling and scooting and getting up on all fours - very close to crawling! He's been sitting by himself for a couple of weeks - I still put the boppy behind him because he throws himself back every now and then, but has really gotten great at staying or getting himself to the sitting position. He's still a rotten napper and sleeper if I'm not with him, but I've decided not to stress over it until he's a year old.

On the home front, we're probably going to be moving to NY in a few months. Not for sure, but about 90% probable. Not looking forward to leaving TX and my family, but I'm trying to stay positive. What is it with all of the Feb moms moving? There have been quite a few that have either moved houses, cities or states!!!

Journey-Congrats on the crawlers! I'm on the fence about crawling. I can't wait to see Greydon do it, but I know once it starts, I'll never get a moment's peace with him mobile and his big sister running around. ;)

Well, Greydon is now officially sitting up all on his own. No need for pillows any longer. He's not moving yet, but I'm sure that's just around the corner. He had his 6 month checkup yesterday. He was 22lbs 4oz (off the chart) and 28 1/4 inches long (95%). So, he's a BIG boy! The doctor isn't concerned about his size because he's been consistent all along. He seriously is the size that Briley was when she had her 1 yr appt. Jeepers!

blondegirl, glad you're feeling well! I don't blame you for being away for a bit while moving, looking after two kids, and in your first trimester!!!

Journey, wow they're getting so big! LOL, I'm not ready for any Feb/Jan babies to be walking yet.

MrsT, we were doing the boppy behind as well. Of course, then she decided to fall forward instead. Wow, Texas to New York is a BIG move! You moving for work? We're also moving next year but just about a mile away.

candy I hope there is no more biting - I am scared of that! Eek.

Wagsgirl big babies are great! I bet M. will be off the charts in weight too:)

sarak did you post the pro pics in LJ?

We are doing great. Morgann traveled wonderfully again! I think she likes planes. She slept and played on all four flights, and didnt cry one bit. We were proud parents. We had a great trip. We fly again in a month to Atlanta. We travel WAY too much!! Morgann probally has spent 1/3 of her life traveling. That is nuts.

She is doing an army crawl now all over the place. She uses all fours but her big ole belly drags :-) She can also get from lying to sitting if she can grab on something to pull her up, and then she will kinda stand... Like if she can pull up on a big pillow then lean on it and stand up. Crazy! Her sleep is improving a lot, too, which I am grateful for! She still acts like she is teething - but still no teeth. She loves to eat - we started her about 2 weeks ago on bananas, and have tried a few bites of other things. She loves bananas. In the airport yesterday, she got crazy excited when she saw a banana!!

HGMorgann, that's great that Morgann flies so well! Maybe all that white noise and rumbling on the plane helps (says the girl who usually falls asleep before we've even taxied). Sounds like she's doing well all around!

HGMorgann - Sounds like Morgann has been a busy little girl!! Too cute about her belly dragging on the floor! Natie loves to eat, too. He starts wiggling like crazy when he thinks we have something for him!

I have 2 crawlers, 2 pull-to-standers, and 2 babies with 2 bottom teeth. Natie has had really runny squirts and has not been too interested in food (very unlike him) the last couple days. He broke his 2nd tooth yesterday, so I am not sure if it is from that. He just isn't acting like himself. Catie has had runny poos, too, but she already had her 2nd tooth. I am not sure if they caught a bug or not.

They turned 7 months on Sunday, so here are a few pictures. Big Brother Boo is loving the fact that they are so mobile and are playing with him now.

I'm feeding her 'real' food she has bites of chicken, cheese, and eggs, she loves steamed spinich and mashed potatoes, she does well with her cheerios, and fruit/veggie puffs, I can't believe it's getting close to time to plan her first birthday.

Mamatallcott, you reminded me of a question I wanted to ask. What kind of sounds are everyone's babies making these days? Sammy seems to pick a new noise each week, although this grunt/growl has stuck around for a while. She sounds like an angry bear!! She's loud with her growls and shrieks but not really babbling yet.

Journey

mamatallcott - Glad you made it!!

SaraKat - Catie has a really high pitched squeal that she does. It is really funny when she is being tickled or otherwise excited about something, but can be really annoying when she is mad! Natie tends to groan. He crawls around making this low steady groaning sound. It is like his siren, you can almost always tell where he is...:) They are babbling a little bit, but mostly it is the squeal and groan.

Sara Maya is 6.5 months old now and she babbles non stop... DaDaDa RaRaRa BaBaBa. Since we repeat DaDa to her, she now "says" that the most. My stop mom Sheila swears Maya says hi. She also squels out of excitement.
Holly Maya just started rolling over in the opposite direction last week.

She can sit up for a bit without toppling over. She rolls back and forth as her form of transportation. Sher gets up on her arms, than her legs, but not at the same time. I'm SO fine with that. I'm not quite ready for a crawler or scooter yet. lol

Maya is such a happy baby. It's amazing, she went from crying all the time with "colic" to now always smiling and giggling. I love it!

Nathan is 7 months today! I don't think I'm going to do that well with him turning 1! I think he's working on his 5th tooth...been drooling like crazy! He's been grinding his four current teeth and it drives us crazy! I know he's just trying to figure out how they work, but the sound is horrible!

He babbles a lot! Mamama when he's upset and dadada, bababa, and blablabla all the other times. He squeals and yells a lot too. It's so cute!

We're getting ready to start meats. I think I'm going to work on him trying some real foods soon. I've been so afraid of the choking and am so confused on when to start the munching period. How the heck do you know what to start them off with? I think I'm going to let him have a real banana this weekend at least. I have tried the fruit puffs, but he doesn't seem interesting. I may try some toast and crackers.

Journey: They are so cute! I cannot believe that they are standing! Nathan had the squirts over the weekend too and I thought it was from teething because his gums are swollen around his bottom front teeth, but no new tooth yet.

mamatallcott: Great to see you here! I'm glad she's doing so well! Isn't it crazy that all our babies are closer to 1 year than their birth? It's going too fast!

jess&dan - It is hard to believe they are working on the downside of their first year already! 5 teeth!? I guess Nathan wants to get the teething over with as fast as possible!

Mommy to E&L - Great to hear from you! How are your little ones doing?

I was realizing that Will started walking the day before his 10 month birthday...I am hoping Catie and Natie decide to hold off...I don't think I will be ready for walkers in 3 months!

Jess,
Nathan is a doll!!! what a cutie!
Ethan started walking at 9 months, I'm glad and sad that won't be the case with Lauryn, Ethan is quick and sneaky :p ;)

Lauryn got her tubing tube in her stomach wednsday, she is doing pretty good, besides a few tough days she's been good overall for about 2 weeks. Hopefully she can come home soon. She will have LOTS of therapy each week, She is like an infant at this point her neck and whole body are So weak from being in the bed, it makes me sad sometimes, i wish she could sit up or eat through her mouth but I know the end is far better than the beginning and I know we are pass the beginning so hopefully we're closer to the end or at least the middle ;) We still don't know what she has, she gets blood clot(she has a blood clotting disorder) so they are looking into to see it she had a stoke. But they still think this is all a genetic disorder. We stay hopefully and pray God's will and enjoy every second we have with her. She is my sunshine and I have learned so much from this little girl, she is so amazing. I don't know if that makes any sense. I'll keep you all updated and hopefully my next post will be we are going home!!! Please pray her head and brain grow. They are small for her age and this could be one of the effects of the genetic disorder. She has great strength and thank you all for asking about her and for praying. I'll try to post a pic of my angel!
God Bless
Lisa

Jess&dan - Nathan looks like such a little boy in that first picture! He is such a beautiful baby. :)

We took the kids to the peach festival this weekend and they had a blast. Natie and Catie both like peaches! :) We peeled off the fuzz and they went to town. They also started crackers this weekend. They love Ritz!

Hey ladies,

Roman turned seven months last week. He is a joy as usual. He still loves to laugh, squeal, roll, sit, etc. He sits well on his own but still does not pull himself up to a sitting position. He also loves to stand!

I bought a new tub for him (an inflatable duck that quacks) and he looooves that thing. He can splash all day long and just loves the quacking sounds.

Still no teeth here, but R drools buckets and has been whining a lot lately. Who knows if it's teething!

Sarah, Roman growls too, it's hilarious! I wanted to buy him a leopard costume for halloween but they were out of his size. :( That would have been adorable. :)

journey, wow, two crawlers! I can't see your pics--hopefully they will come up again.

Lisa, Lauryn is in my prayers, always.

jess&dan - I think you are right...Catie did steal Nate's hair!! And Will's, and Rob's, and mine...She is the luckiest one of the bunch in the hair department!

seattleguamgirl - Sounds like Roman will have some teeth soon! And you brought up a good question...

What is everyone going to dress their baby up as for their first halloween?

I think Will is still going to fit in his Frankenstein costume from last year...it was pretty big on him. I haven't decided on the twins yet. I want them to be related, but nothing is jumping out at me just yet. I have seen some cute ones, bunny and carrot, puppy and bone...I will have to do a little more snooping around.

We don't really do halloween, but we will dress her up as in a Winnie the Pooh pumpkin costume for a fall festival or something. (Picture a baby in a winnie the pooh costume in a pumpkin costume...) Baby costumes are just TOO cute!

We're pretty sure we're dressing Nathan as a vampire! We found the cutest costume and it's so appropriate since we have been calling him vampire baby since he was born (he had this strange habit of digging his head into your neck and making sucking sounds and now he just bites us!).

jess&dan - That is too cute!!! I can't wait to see pictures!

I think my babies are working on more teeth. They were up a dozen times last night and were really restless in between. Maybe the top ones are on the way. Natie started talking on Saturday. He has always groaned and squealed, but now he is du du du DA DA DU du da DU! It is really cute.

Since we all had babies around the same time...I was just curious, have your babies run out of medical benefits for the year? The tiwns' 6 month isn't covered because they have run out of benefits for the calendar year. How can that be? Aren't well baby checks supposed to be covered? They weren't in the hospital at birth for long, and they didn't spend any time in the NICU, so they shouldn't have been any more spendy there. I just don't understand how they can run out of benefits.

Journey I haven't heard anything about Maya's benfits expiring. Maybe call your insurance co to inquire.
So cute about Natie "talking". Maybe has been doing the exact same thing. One time I said, "Want to go see Da Da at work?" and she looked at me and said, " DA DA." It was perfect. lol What's your name btw?
Jess Nathan will be the perfect vampire. Too cute. I can't wait to see the pics.
We haven't decided what Maya will be, but DH wants something cute & fuzzy.
I think Maya is cutting her 3rd tooth. She was not a happy girl today. :(

Not much new here, just a lot of rocking back and forth on all fours. :) Roman sometimes propels himself forward while on all fours, and always scoots backwards but no real crawling yet.

Jess, I think a vampire costume would be adorable! Roman does the same thing to us, except he usually buries his head into our faces and either kisses us or sucks on our cheeks. :) It is cute.

Journey, we are all covered under DH's family plan. I have never heard of benefits expiring, but I'm not exactly well educated in the topic of insurance.

Candy, how cute is it that Maya is saying DaDa! Roman said "Uh, Oh!" today and I've been trying to get him to repeat it since I heard it. :P It's probably one of those random occurances. He says Lalalalala and growls all the time.

seattleguamgirl - Roman sounds so close to crawling! Then they great fun begins...I was just glad our house was already child-proofed from Will.

We are taking a trip to Montana in November. I know it is a long way off, but we are excited. We moved from there when we got married (still not exactly sure why) and have been wanting to move back, but have never really had the opportunity. DH's old boss called him (they have remained friends) and they have a position opening in late Nov-early Dec. So we are going to check it out because it is in a different town than we lived in before. I am trying not to get my hopes up, but the possible opportunity to move back is just great. Wouldn't be too excited about moving again, but it would be more than worth it.

Morgann crawled today! And she went from crawling to sitting up! BIG DAY for such a little girl. I am such a proud mama:-) I really need to baby proof now..

Journey - good luck with the trip! I hope things work out well for your family. I am not the insurance guru, however, I think this happened to one of our friends as well. Insurance stuff just annoys me. You can always call and see if you can get a change. I have found that most policies are very....loose...and have loopholes....For example, "well child" visit are classified under one type of benefits, whereas, sick visits are under another type. It gets so confusing.

seattleguamgirl - Seattle is one of my favorite places. We try and visit there at least once a year. We honeymooned around Seattle, too. I was stationed there when I was in the Coast Guard and didn't care for it so much because it was winter, and it wouldn't stop raining. There is just so much fun stuff to do around the area. Great place to raise a family! :)

I packed up all the kids' outgrown clothes into a box to trade for clothes that will fit them this winter. I am going to take the swing and bucket carriers, too, since the twins have outgrown them. I saved a few of my favorite outfits. It didn't seem so hard when Will outgrew things, probably because I saved everything. But we are not having any more babies, so there is no need to save it all anymore. It just makes me sad that all my babies are growing up so fast, and there is nothing I can do to slow it down. :(

It is kind of quiet in here...

My little munchkins are doing great. We took them to the fair last weekend. We all had a great time. We were standing outside the petting zoo gate and an old chinese lady came up and told us that is chinese belief that boy/girl twins were lovers in a former life. Very interesting, we weren't quite sure what to say. I think I will have to look that one up!

I am off to visit my parents with the kids tomorrow. They live about 8 hours away, unless you have a car full of kids, and then it is more like 10! Unfortunately DH can't go. A firend of mine got married last week and they are having their open house on Saturday. It will be good to see everyone, because we probably won't see them until spring. Passes are a little too treturous (sp?) in the winter.

Have a great day everyone!

Things are going well for us. We are all enjoying hte more fall-like weather. Morgann does NOT like to be hot. I can't wait to take her to an apple orchard and a pumpkin patch!

She had her 6 mo appt yesterday - even though she is almost 7 mo.
She weighed in at 20 lbs, 26.5" and a big ole head. Her head and weight are like 95% and her length is 70%. She is doing great - crawling all over the place and she loves cords. Eh. So we are trying to figure out how to curtail that activity. She still isn't too keen on most foods - besides bananas and breastmilk. We call her our little monkey:-)

Hope you had a nice trip, Journey! Sounds like the twins are doing great. It really is bittersweet packing up the outgrown clothes. I washed a bunch today and officially packed away all her 0-6 clothes. Hard to believe they were ever so tiny!

HGMorgann, a pumpkin patch and apple orchard sound wonderful! Aw, I bet she'd look so cute plopped in a pile of pumpkins! LOL

I feel like I haven't posted here in so long! Things are going well with Sam. She's on the verge of crawling and spends most of her waking time practicing. Sleep has been rough for the last two weeks...seriously rough... but I think we might be getting through it soon. She might be teething again, although I don't see anything yet. As far as solids go, she is still a big fan of oatmeal and anything she can feed herself (like banana and avocado chunks). The rest of the stuff (sweet potatoes, pears, carrots) she'll eat but never seems too impressed. We bought her Halloween costume today and she's going to be a ladybug :)

Skylar is doing great. She is still such a great baby, what a joy. Like HGMorgan, she had her 6 month appt last week, at 7 months!! She is 20 pounds and 28 inches. She's my little chunker!! She loves all foods, anything and everything I put in front of her! She is crawling all over the place, and we put iher in the walker a few weeks ago. Between the crawling and the walker, she is into EVERYTHING!!! YIKES. I'll have to post a few pics later (but first I need to upload them from my camera!!)

Hope all babies and mama's are doing great. I hope to catch up woth everyone very soon.

Congratulations on your little BOY, blondegirl!

We are doing well. Roman is crawling backwards, but not forwards. :) It's just a matter of time before he should figure it out. Still no teeth but he is eating cheerios like a champ (I eat one half and offer him the other). Other foods he likes are sweet potatoes, peas (he loves the Earth's Best jarred kind over my homemade version), zucchini, peaches, pears, apples, bananas and avocado. He loathes green beans and pluots. I think I'm going to introduce protein and dairy (egg yolks, yogurt and tofu) once he turns 8 months, which is in a couple of days!

We move into our new house next week and can't wait! We are going to forgo the chair rail this time and make it look more like a big boy room since he is growing like a weed. Sniff.

Hi everyone, long time no see.

Congrats on your boy blondegirl!

Aidan is 7 months old now and he loves his bananas! It's his favorite food, usually I give him chunks of mine, he also likes chicken, especially from mom's plate :D We think he had a growth spurt a couple of weeks ago, the poor kid couldn't nap, but now he's back to his usual naps and he sleeps like a champ. He also loves peas, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, any fruit mixed with banana, and cheerios.

He crawls all over the place and loves to stand, holding on to me or the edge of his his play area.

HGMorgann - Congrats on Morgann's first tooth!!

I have started watching a little 8 month old girl named Olivia on M and W. I think this must be what it is like to have triplets!! Will's little girlfriend still comes over 2 days a week as well, and they are giving me an idea of what it might be like when the twins are 2.

We have moved up our MT trip to the 22-25 of this month. DH's old boss is really wanting DH back. We will see how it goes. I do miss MT and living in the country. I miss my horses and I always dreamed the kids would grow up in 4H. Perhaps it will work out. So hard not to get our hopes up, though.

Hi ya'll! It's been forever since I've been here. I just read back a few pages though and all of the babies are looking great and growing fast!!

Mommy to E and L - Hopefully Lauryn is still doing well. I am still praying for you all. Keep us updated!!

I swear, I don't know how people get things done with babies around! Since I was last here Elliott has gone full speed crawling and pulling up on everything. It was like he opened his eyes one day and noticed the world around him. He's always after something and babababa-ing as he goes. He's so funny though.

We finally started him on solids about a month ago - he doesn't really care one way or the other about most things - except seems to like pears the best. Really, he still just prefers the boob! He also likes to "feed" himself - so I hold the spoon while he shoves it in. At least food gets in there somehow!

He got his first owies just in the past week or so - a bruise (from smacking his head on the bathtub while he was trying to pull up on it) and he bit his tongue after sliding on the tile. He's going to need full body armor!

Sleep is still not going great - at nap at least. He sleeps fine at night as long as I'm there with him. We have our good and bad days and I'm experimenting all the time. Right now I got some spare moments because I made him a pallet on the floor and then got up. With all of our issues, I'm beginning to wonder if all of babies that sleep through the night/sleep in cribs/go down for naps have been sleep trained in some way. I guess I wonder if it's something I'm doing/not doing or is it just E's temperment to need that constant contact?

Anyway. Glad everyone seems to be doing well. Sorry I rambled for so long, but it's been a while since I got to be online long enough to write a post. Hopefully I'll be able to come back more often!!

MrsT, you took the words right out of my mouth!! We're having sleep issues, as well. She is clearly tired and passes out in my arms but the second I put her down she's awake and crying. I try putting her down awake (something that she used to be able to do) and it just makes things worse. I wonder if there even is a solution to this other than crying it out or waiting till the phase passes.

As Mrs.T and SarahkatG know from LJ, we are facing the exact same thing too with sleep. For me, I just cant do CIO, so for now, we will let this phase pass. If it goes on this way for more than the next couple of months, we might get more agressive. But for now, she is only little once. I really dont think it will spoil her by allowing her to be a baby.

My daughter is totally fighting sleep right now. Her daddy is trying to get her down. She is crying. He just put her on the floor an she crawled out of her room. Silly silly little girl.

Greydon has been going through this same thing. Must be the age. I don't remember Briley doing this, but it's been a while. He would not go down for his nap today. I put him in his crib awake and he cried and cried. I went in there every couple minutes to soothe him and he just wouldn't go to sleep. So, I finally got him out, I held him for about 5 minutes and he was out. What the heck?? Silly boy! So, I put him in his crib and he slept for about an hour. Crazy babies!! They think they're going to miss something I believe.

Nathan is a pretty good sleeper, but even he has had some sleeping issues in the last month or so. He's been whining a lot in his sleep and has woken up quite a few times to be held. My little week by week book said that this is about the time seperation anxiety hits and that it can cause many sleep issues. The baby will wake up, realize he's alone, and then cry out for mommy or daddy to rescue him. Apparently it's a phase and it will pass. Hopefully!

Jess - Thanks! Your little man is a charmer! When did you start putting shoes on him and are there any brands/types you recommend?

Aidan has also had some sleeping issues. Not at night (knock on wood) but with napping, there was a week where I think he got one hour's worth of naps a day and was so cranky, poor guy. Something else I have noticed is that his bedtime is earlier by about an hour now and he wakes up about an hour later.

I have a feeling Morgann is allergic to cats! Ack. Sunday night we went over to house where they smoked (outside only, but you can still kinda smell it inside), it was kinda dusty, and had cats. That night she was up a million times at night coughing. The next night was better. But yesterday, we went to our friends who have a cat (but are clean & non-smokers) and she was up again all night coughing.

When she wakes up coughing, she wants to nurse (probally to soothe her throat). I am sooo tired today!

Anyone here deal with allergies? I don't know what to do:confused:

pontmarie: I started to put shoes on Nathan about 2 weeks ago when he started to wear pants. They stopped his pants from getting under his feet while trying to stand. He didn't get upset at all when I put them on, but it's too funny when I take them off because he acts like he's never seen his feet before! :) I got his shoes at Target because of them being decently priced. Those sneakers are GK and are great! The go on really easy and seem to be holding up great! They are really popular at his daycare...about 5 other boys have them!

HGMorgann: I think you can have some allergy testing donw if you suspect there is an allergy...

We have been having sleep problems at night. Natie has been waking up and spending an hour or 2 just wide awake for about the last week. Sis was awake one of those nights. They both did fine last night, so I am hoping the "awake" phase is on its way out.

Took the kids to the pumpkin patch today with Will's little girlfriend. What should have been a fun little outing turned out to be a nightmare. His little friend is so spoiled and her mom always lets her have her way. She cried/screamed about half the time. What is the most frustrating, though, is it is always my friends daughter that gets her way. Ex...she can touch Will's carseat, but not the other way around. She can take something from Will, but not the other way around. She is such a little screamer and Will knows that, and since she whines about everything anyway, Will kind of pushes her little buttons on purpose. I love my friend to death, but am getting to the point that I cannpt stand her daughter. Will is starting to try her "fit techniques" because they work for her everytime. He is just stubborn enough to keep trying them until they work. I know all kids are different, but is a friendship really worth all this frustration??? Sorry about the vent...

Hey everyone!

Thought I'd stop in to post a few pics. There's more in my journal too.
We finally found the digital camera. It was packed away in a box.

Thank goodness I'm not the only one with sleep issues. We've been having great success with the pallet on the floor for naps though, so I've been getting a little reprieve.

HGMorgan - I hope there isn't a cat allergy, but I did read that allergies show up after 6 months (environmental ones at least) so maybe you should have her tested just in case.

Journey - Sorry about the nightwakings - hopefully they will stop soon! About Will's "friend" - does your friend try to discipline her kid, or just let it go? I'm in a similar situation with my niece (she's actually having sibling rivalry with Elliott and throws tantrums/grabs/pushes/etc) but I'm able to tell her she can't do certain things and redirect her. Would your friend get mad if you did the same? Like "Jane, it's not nice to grab Will's toys, please give it back...etc. If your friend isn't willing to help her child act in a way that is socially acceptable, I don't know how much I'd like to hang out with her either!!

Candy - She's so cute!!

Hey Ladies!! I'm glad I found you over here!!!

Jess&Dan Nathan is SO cute!!!

Candy Maya is adorable! I love the eating pic.

Journey Sorry about the sleep issues! I hope it's just a phase! And about Will's friend... it would be hard for me to hang out with her as well. You also don't want Will to pick up on her 'bad habits'.

Well, within the last week Lexi has cut her first tooth, crawled, and has decided DADA would be her first word. I have worked on her for months to say MAMA, but she just grins at me! Oh well. Another development, we are moving to Chicago soon. I'm exicted but not looking forward to the move. Oh well. I'm glad I finally found everyone over here!

Nathan took his first steps on Friday! He has done one step for me twice and the one caregiver at his daycare said she saw him take 2 and maybe a third (she saw it from across the room). It's so exciting yet scary! Not sure I'm ready for this! But it could be nothing...just a slow start to walking. So we'll see!

journey: Nathan was waking up like that for a few days also. It would be 4:00 AM and we'd hear him playing around in his crib and talking to himself. No clue what it was, but he's over it now. Sorry about your friend's daughter. I would find that very annoying too. I'm nervous that will happen with my friend. She raises her children so differently and her baby-to-be is going to just be a year younger than Nathan, so they will be playing together. I just know this baby will be spoiled beyond belief, so I'm not looking forward to what may happen. I hope you find a solution that doesn't mean losing your friend.

Candy: She's too cute!

bacchuslvr: So glad you made your way over! I'm glad all is going well!

candy - Maya is too cute for words. What a sweet little face! :)

bacchuslvr - So glad you made it over here! Lexi has been a busy little girl!

jess&dan - Steps!?! WOW!! Nathan is on his way to taking over the world!!! What fun for you! :)

Catie is standing by herself now. She lasts about 10-30 secs before either holding on again or sitting down. Natie is letting go every now and then, but only for a couple seconds. I think Catie might be the first walker of the two. They still only have 2 teeth each. They love food enjoy feeding themselves more than being fed.

We are off to Montana on Saturday and I am so excited!!! It should be a fun trip, and at least we will know for sure whether we are going to move or not. It seems like so many things are up in the air right now, and it will be nice to know for sure.

Anyway...better get back to it...have a great day!!! :D

Since Lisa hasn't posted in a while, I thought I'd post they e-mail she sent out on Oct. 15th.

Hello Family and Friends,

Sorry its been a while since my last email. Lauryn is doing fairly well. Since my last email the removed her off her blood clotting and vitamin medications. This was great because its two less things Lauryn has to take. She's on at least 10 meds for varies things, I've lost count of how many now! On Tuesday she will be getting her feeding tube changed and a sonogram(for her blood clots). Its at MCH so please pray for travelling mercies, Lauryn hasn't been always to fond of her carseat!

Lauryn being home for over a month is amazing, I look back at where we were to now and it seems unreal. The Lord is so good, He continue to provide each and everyday day for her, even the bad ones.

Thank you for all your prayers. I have a few pray request for you this time.

At Lauryn last neuro check up, which was a good one! her head still measured the same as it was in June, which is small.
~Please pray her head grows. this is critical for her development, Especially because of her brain attophy.

~That little by little she can be on less medication.

~For her overall development

Thank you we love you all!

In Christ Alone,

Matt,Lisa, Ethan and Princess Lauryn :) (Thats what we call her :P)

Hope you don't mind that I posted your e-mail Lisa. I know the group has been asking about Princess Lauryn!

Hey ladies,

We've been busy with the move...we finally closed escrow on our place here in WA and moved our stuff in last week. It has been challenging unpacking and trying to take care of Roman but we manage. :) The ILs were here last week helping out so they were on baby duty much of the time.

R is great. Still no teeth, not fully crawling yet but still into everything. His backwards crawl turned into him getting into a sitting position. I started him on yogurt but he had a reaction (rash that still has not gone away) so we're laying low on foods these days. Sleep is sort of a hit or miss. Some days he refuses to nap so he only gets about an hour and a half all day. Night time wakings average two a night but he simply nurses and then goes right back to sleep.

I can't wait to get all of these boxes out of our house! It will be so nice to fully settle in. Otherwise we are loving it here--the fall weather has been so nice and the fall foliage is gorgeous!

I'm glad to see everyone is doing well, especially Princess Lauryn. :) Lisa, my prayers are always with her.

Candy - Thank you so much for the update on Princess Lauryn.

Lisa - So glad that Lauryn is doing better. Continuing to think of you and your family and pray that Lauryn just keeps getting better.

seattleguamgirl - So glad you are getting all settled into your new house! How exciting.

Will is trying potty training again. Let's hope he goes all the way this time. If not, that is OK. Catie is determined to stand by herself more and more. I think she is going to be an early walker like Will was (he started walking the day before his 10 month birthday.) Natie is my little lover. He is such a sweet little boy. He has this little blue cow that he loves. He holds the butt as he is sucking his thumb. Needless to say, the poor little cow has a crusty butt from being sucked on. Gosh I sure do love my kids. :)

Journey - good luck with 2 walkers:-) Hope potty training goes well. Have a great trip to Montana. I hope things work out great for you and your family.

Candy - Maya is cute!

Lisa- We are praying for Lauryn. May God give you strenght and peace!

Us - all is well! Morgann's 3rd and 4th teeth popped through today. She had 2cranky/whiny days this week, so I figured they were on their way. I had this awful cut on my nipple from Teeth 1&2, and thankfully it healed before 3&4. I hope things are OK with nursing and 4 teeth. I'm a little scared:eek:

We went on our second hike today. The first hike, was just a "trial", this one was a bigger one - 4 miles to a summit and back. It was breathtaking (both the hike and the view!) I am waaaaaaaaaay out of shape. I was in OK shape before I was pregnant....and yeah, that was over a year ago - so that was a wake up call - OK time to get back into shape. Dh and I used to hike 11 miles in a day....gah, no way anymore...But it was wicked fun. We got a Kelty Kid pack for Morgann. She liked it alot. She slept the whole way down. I hope to use it a lot more this winter. I will post a picture soon:-)

Hope you all are doing great.

Too cute Candy and HGMorgann!

I'm reading along even though I'm not posting much. Sammy is doing well, she started really crawling about a week ago so that has been a lot of fun! We had two nights in a row where she slept through the night (13 hours straight!) for the first time but it looks like it was just a fluke. She's really into finger foods but still just has two teeth. Her noise of the week right now is sticking her tongue out and going "pbbllllllbbbt" and drooling/spraying everywhere. She does it ALL the time! It's pretty cute :)

I LOVE all the Halloween pics. Our babies are so cute!!

Hannah - It's so exciting that Morgan can stand unassisted!!

You guys, I have been painstakingly going through all of our old WC threads to copy my preggo posts (I'm trying to keep better records for E's baby book and a lot of good info is in there). Anyways. I can't believe how our kids have all grown and changed! Made me all teary eyed and also made me wonder about all of the ladies who we haven't heard from in a while - like Lianne, Jewelsville, AKADrea, etc. It's so crazy that we all still had babies in our bellies a year ago, and now, well, they're STANDING and almost WALKING!!! Aaaahhhh!!

Just wanted to wax nostalgic :p

On our end, E is just a nutball. He's all over the place and is cruising like crazy. He's trying to stand on his own but can only balance for a few seconds before falling. We've got 5 teeth, working on our 6th and I see two more on the horizon. Sleep is sucking because of that. BUT, my library FINALLY got HSHHC (Weissbluth) and I'm going to read it and see if there is anything new that will help. I've got E in a great place where he naps by himself on a pad on the floor, but I'd still like a solution for the nighttime where I could feel safe leaving him alone. Like the PNP. He just has a 6th sense about being put in an enclosed space - wakes up right away. My little stubborn one!!

Missing Feb 05er's ---->I've seen Lianne post over at MDC. (SOund like a stalker here....but we both have the same names there as WC!) She and her baby boy seem to be great. AKADrea posts here actually;-) I know she has pics up in the new "show me your baby thread)

OK, enough sounding like a wierdo-internet person...really I am not!!

Babies growing up---> I know! Its crazy. My best friend is due Feb 27 this next year and after we talk sometimes, I go back to my journal and read what it was like for me a year ago. I miss being pregnant some....but I love having my girl here!!!

Hey Ladies! Long time not post. We are moving to Chicago on Mon, so things have been a little hectic!

Candy-I'm glad your all okay! Being in the panhandle we've been VERY lucky!

Babies Growing up- I know! I can't believe it! I also have a friend that's due around Feb 20th (same time I was) and it's crazy. I'm pulling out winter clothes I forgot I had since last year was pure pregnancy clothes!

Lexi- She's doing wonderful. She's been crawling for a while now and is trying to pull up... she'll get the hang of it soon enough! She can also stand unassisted for a while, though she needs to learn how to come down 'gently'! She has 2 teeth and I have a feeling her mood lately has something to do with the top 2 working their way out. Ugh. I've also decided to stop nursing... actually, she decided to stop. So, it's a little sad to have that chapter of her life coming to an end. I think I'm ready though, I would like to have my body back to myself... it will be nice not having to worry about what I eat!!!!

What's MDC?? Totally clueless here...

Well, Greydon will be 9 months on Friday. My, how time has flown. He's FINALLY starting to scooch along the floor. Briley was a slow crawler, too. She's was 9 months before she crawled, but she walked right at 1 year. 3 days after her birthday...So, I knew Greydon would be slow, too, but c'mon already!!!

Here's Roo on Halloween!

Oh my goodness...I haven't been here in what seems like forever!!! I need to read back and see what everyone has been up to, so please excuse the lack of SO's.

MT was wonderful, but we have decided to stay put for the time being. The job offer will stand until we are ready to move. So at least we know that we will end up back home, we just need to be in a better position financially, not to mention we just bought our house in May. I think we will plan on moving in spring 07. A year and a half isn't bad. As long as we are settled before Will starts school.

Let's see...Will has been in underwear for a week and a half and is doing great. He has had some accidents, but we are past the point of no return now, and I think he is doing great. Catie took her first steps on Halloween!! She has only taken a few more since then, though, so I am not sure she is quite ready for that yet. Natie is standing alone now, too. Will is up to 33lbs, Natie is 23lbs, and Catie is up to 19.5lbs. They are about 9.5 months already and are so independant. Good in some ways...bad in others. My sister just found out that she is going to have another baby!! We figure she will be due the beginnig of July. I am having fun teasing her that it may be her turn for twins now...she is doing her best to ignore me. :)

Anyway, I need to get caught up on the thread, but have a million things to get done right now. Hope you all had a wonderful Halloween, and can you believe Thanksgiving is next week already!?!?!?!?

Hello everyone!
Maya amazes me all of the time! She has many learning multiple things a day. It's crazy!!

She had her 9 mo. well baby check up today. She weighs 18 lbs. 11 oz (50%) and 28 in. (70%)

She has 4 teeth. 2 on the bottom & 2 up top.

She's crawling all over the place now. She pulls up to her knees, but not to standing. GOOD! lol
She claps, waves bye bye, says uh-oh, hi, mama, dada, poppop (my dad). Sings na na na na. It's so cute!

Oh & she LOVES Dora the Explorer. When it comes on Maya says, "YA Ya Ya" while clapping her hands in excitement.

These were taken a few weeks ago.

Wow, it's been forever since I posted! Can everyone believe that our babies are 9 months old, and that 2005 is almost over? How time flies!!

Just quickly glanced at the pictures - all the babies are just adorable!

Skylar is doing wonderful. Still such a happy baby. We go in for her 9 month appt on the 30th (she will be 9 months on Sunday). Still no teeth. She is pulling her self up, and she will walk along the bay window in the living room while holding on to the ledge. Always pullng herself up. Looks like I may have an early walker on my hands. OH no!!! She waves hello and good-bye - it is the cutest thing ever. Lucky for daddy, she says da da these days, but not mama yet. Hey now!!

I am still feeling good. Just very very tired. I took a fall the other day, and let me tell you it was so embarrassing!! (Got some bruised knees, but I think I hurt my ego the most!!) I was holding Skylar, walking up to Rosalyn's school, and the sidewalk was uneven and I just lost my balance. Managed to hold Sklyar tight and not drop her, but almost broke my wrist in the process!! At least we are all ok!! I am huge, bigger now than I was the day I delivered Sklyar!! (not weight wise, just a very big belly!) I am about 28 1/2 weeks, measuring at about 32 weeks. My doc thinks we may be off on my due date. She said as long as we make it past christmas, she'll be happy! Yikes. I am so not ready!!!
I will post some better pics as soon as I get my new digital!

Hi all!!

I always seem to forget about this thread until someone posts and then I read it, but rarely have time to post...

blondegirl-Skylar is such a cutie! I'm so glad you're okay. Falling while holding a baby is not fun. I did it recently with Greydon, too, but we were all fine except for my knee. Hurt for a couple days.

Candy-Maya is gorgeous! Love her earrings. I wish I would have pierced Briley's ears. Oh well. It will be a good "big girl" thing for her to do when she goes to school...

So, for us...Greydon was 9 months yesterday. Time flies!!! He had his checkup yesterday, too. No shots, yay!!! He was 23 lbs 6 oz. We thought for sure he was closer to 25 lbs, so this was a shock. He only gained 1 lb 2 oz since his 6 month checkup. He was also 29 3/4 inches ta
