Alright Lizard. Where are you?!?! This thread is too lonely.

So I'm talking to myself here. My temp this morning dropped to 97.8 & I did a CBE dig that showed Not PG. AGH! My urine was extremely diluted & our room was colder than usual, so I used that to keep me sane for a few hours, but it didn't help that I'm still cramping. I was ready to call the nurse but wanted to give testing one more try. Had much darker urine this time and the test showed just what it was supposed to. I can't begin to explain how scared I became at the possibility of losing this, and how relieved I was to not see "not."

I seem to be taking my time, but every day something makes this whole thing more real, and I'm making the transition from thinking about 1 person to thinking about 2. I'm realizing what it means to give up everything for my child. And all those other women are right: there is simply no way to understand it until you're going through it.

LOL, alright.... I will join. :D I'm still kinda hesitant, but considering how I've been feeling and whatnot I think this is the real thing:

CC Name: Lizard
Me: Liz, 30
DH: Chris, 33
Married: 9/20/03
TTC: April 2005
BFP: 10/22/05
EDD: 7/4/06
Gender Prediction: Girl

I'm gonna test again on Monday, and assuming I get the same result I'll give the doc a call for an appt. I don't care for my gyn too much, so I'm thinking I might just go into the GP first, and see if she has recommendations for a good OB.

I'm kinda tempted to go get a digital test.... I think DH would like to see the word "pregnant" just to be sure. :)

I'm glad you got another BFP... you scared me there for a second! When is your first appt? By the way, your EDD says 5/1/06. :)

Like Lizard I too am very hesitant. I was once a member of a mommies thread and it sucks beyond belief to have to leave and watch all of them stay and progress. But I know I'd be a serious lurker anyway, I'd might as well join. I probably won't participate in any "what stroller are you buying" conversations until after the 1st trimester though. So here I go...taking the plunge:

Soulmate
Me: Kristen, 30
DH: James, 30
Married: 8.11.02
TTC: 4.7.03
BFP: 10.22.05
EDD: 7.4.06
Gender Prediction: Boy

flygirl How incredibly scary! I'm so glad you were able to see that amazingly fabulous word!

lizard Go digital!! If your DH is like my DH, he still won't believe it. My DH only started to believe it when I got the blood test results back.

QOTD What are your symptoms? Mine for sure RPS are a lack of spotting, and my bbs are not as sore. Really sore bbs are a PMS sign for me and this time they never got that sore. Oh, I do have sharp tiny cramps and my nipples are HUGE! The nipple thing was another tip off. And I'm queasy.

flygirl
10-22-2005, 06:12 PM
Congratulations to both of you!!!!!!!!!!

Would one of you mind taking over the thread? Looks like I won't be around afterall. After my last post I noticed a tiny bit of spotting. I called the nurse, who sent me to Urgent Care, who sent me to the ER. Nothing showed up on the u/s & my betas were 20. Oh well. Life goes on. Feel free to PM me & I'll give you the thread info.

Lizard

Oh Flygirl, I am so sorry. :( I don't mind taking over the thread, I'll PM you.

flygirl
10-23-2005, 10:09 AM
Just a little update (sort of). A few people have brought up that a beta of 20 is low, but not impossible. Unfortunately, my temp went down yesterday, my bbs aren't sore anymore, & I'm bleeding a lot of dark red blood. In fact, my bbs already feel smaller & the areolas don't have that stretched look.

I have an appt. with the gyn tomorrow, so I'll know for sure, but it just doesn't look good.

Congratulations to all the upcoming July Mommies!!

Lizard Am I assuming correctly that you are the fabulous new threadmistress?? If you are...could you change my TTC date to 4.7.04? I must have been smoking crack when I wrote 03.

The acupunturist has given me the nastiest, grossest herbs on the planet to drink. I have to drink 2 cups (a large glass) of basically what tastes like liquid vitamins. I am already pretty queasy...I think he just wants me to throw up.

Lizard
10-23-2005, 05:58 PM
Changed for ya!

I didn't answer your question earlier, but I've been pretty queasy for a good week. I think the biggest clue I had that I might be pg is that I was queasy and that my bbs were a bit sore, and both were consistently happening. On previous cycles I'd have both happen, but maybe for a day or 2 at most and that was it. This time it isn't going away.

I was supposed to be gone this weekend and Monday for DH's uncle's funeral, but they moved it to Wednesday. So I'll be gone Tuesday through Thursday in the coming week.... just FYI if you don't see me for a few days. :)

I'll add ya when I get home Mystikal. I think I might join the June thread too, since I know so many of you stinkers. :)

I had some red spotting when I woke up (which has since stopped), so I called my doc and she sent me immediately this morning for a beta and a progesterone check. I just got back and should have the results this afternoon. I'm still having nausea and tender bbs, and she said that was a good sign because often those stop abruptly. So cross your fingers everything looks good. Prior to the spotting I had taken another test which was VERY dark, so I'm hoping that's a good sign as well.

Lizard
10-24-2005, 11:04 AM
Can you believe they called me already? I really didn't care for my OB previously, but I'm having second thoughts now 'cause they're being so awesome today. Beta is 107.8 and progesterone is 19.2... apparently both are great. :D I can't go in for a repeat beta on Wed. because we'll be out of town, but I might go in Friday if the nurse feels I need to. The first REAL appointment is November 18th.

Man do I feel relieved and happy. :)

Yea!! Mystikal is here!! It's a party now :D

Thank you so much Amurphy :D

Lizard I'm so glad everything looks good. The high temp is a good sign. Let's hope for no more spotting! Your dr's office seems much more with it than mine (see below).

So I went into the dr's office to get my betas and progesterone checked. I repeated multiple times that I have a history of miscarriages. So I go to get the blood drawn and they want to run a qualitative blood test (yes/no). Hello! I *know* I'm pregnant! And no one has mentioned getting a repeat beta done  Oh...and they won't do the test stat so I have to wait for tomorrow for the results. Regardless I am on prometrium (progesterone) now due to my history. I have a strong feeling that office doesn't deal with repeat m/c's very much. I guess most of us are with RE's instead. Oh, and my first appointment is November 23rd which will also be my first ultrasound.

Lizard
10-25-2005, 10:30 AM
I'm having some spotting again today, but it is nearly nonexistant and brown. I've also had some cramping, but it's not AF-type cramps... more like poking-in-the-belly cramps. Plus they're on the sides of my belly, not in the center like AF cramps are. Temp was still up today (today's the last day I'm gonna temp) and I'm still queasy so I'm optimistic. I figure it's my body telling me, "Hey, isn't AF due by now?" :D

Leaving soon, and will be back Friday... have a good week ladies!

Lizard I've been getting those sharp poking feelings, too. To me it feels almost like a really bad gas cramp but nothing happens. I've heard it's normal. I'm glad your spotting is just about gone! :D

Any idea what I should expect?

Soulmate
10-25-2005, 04:16 PM
Mystikal and Lizard I'm glad you both are getting those too. Mine are in one spot on the side I implanted. They are driving me crazy because it just reminds me of my m/c. I know they are normal. I have to keep thinking "its just the baby burrowing in" over and over.

Mystikal When I went the first time they did the u/s first and then talked to you later. I was convienently in the beginning of my m/c at the time so all we talked about was that. I got a bunch of samples and literature about what to eat and what not to eat, etc. I don't know what they do if you don't get an u/s at the first appointment. I've heard just kinda do a family history. BTW...I was just reading your question in June mommies and I had an u/s at 7w3d and was only trying for 4 cycles at that point. It all depends on the practice.

Mystikal

Soulmate YEAH for good betas. My RE confirmed the positive but didnt give the nubers on my machine GRR! Anyway back tomorrow for another check.

HOw early have many of you had your u/s?? With Ryan and Connor I had them at 9 weeks so I knew I would see a hb. This time I will be six weeks and to be honest if there is a chance that its too early to see the hb I would rather wait then get myself all freaked out about it.

Anyone on progestrone. I hate it. This is the first time I took it and gross!!!!

kellyann1972 ~ Coming out of lurkdome to say that I had my u/s right at 6 weeks and was able to see the heartbeat. It was an internal u/s, they couldn't see anything with a regular one. I hope you see it!

kellyann It is usually around 6 1/2 weeks when you can see the heartbeat on average though many people have seen it before. Just don't freak out if they don't see it yet. My u/s is scheduled for when I'm about 8 1/2 weeks. From what I'm reading in the pregnancy thread I may even be able to hear it. I think I would cry hysterically if I did. I'm on progesterone and hate it. My levels are more than o.k. but I have a history of m/c's so they want me on it anyway. Right now I'm just feeling very tired from it.

Lizard
10-27-2005, 05:20 PM
I'm back! Welcome Kellyann!! If you want to, post your info and I'll add you to the roster.

My spotting completely stopped yesterday morning... I've had none since. Still having the poking cramping feelings. I'm SO glad you ladies are having the same thing. My OB's nurse wants me to call her tomorrow to let her know how I'm feeling. I'm assuming she'll do a repeat beta, but I really don't know. My breasts have gotten very tender... I mostly notice it at night when I'm trying to sleep. :( My nausea comes and goes... nothing real significant right now, thank goodness.

We made the decision not to tell ANYONE about the pregnancy until we have our first appointment on November 18th. I'll be about 7 1/2 weeks by then. Both mine and DH's family have experienced a close death recently, so it's really not a good time to spring big news. At the appt. we'll see the heartbeat and just feel a lot better about everything. The hardest thing will be not telling my best friend, because I work with her and she just found out she's pregnant too. :) She's due 2 or 3 weeks before me.

kellyann1972
10-28-2005, 07:51 AM
Thanks rene' and Soulmate. I am not getting my hopes up to see a hb. The last two times I saw it I did cry though, its truly a magical moment and makes it seem so darn real.

I also have a history of m/c so thats why I have the progestrone. I cant believe how gross it is though I have heard some women get shots instead which is nasty as well.

We arent telling anyone til Christmas. We only just lost Connor in June and I know my parents were very worried about my mental health and I think they might be afriad we tried again too soon. Plus based on my history its better that I just wait before I get everyone excited. I hate not telling.

Lizard my boobs are KILLING me too. I think cause of the progestrone cause I dont remember this from before. Plus I have a toddler that has discovered them and thinks a little squeeze is funny when we are playing. Such a stinker. Also how fun for you to have a PG buddie!

One of my friends is adopting and getting her little girl in June so we will both be having a good summer.

I am a little freaked cause my due date is 7/6 and if they do a c section 10 days early or so its June 26 which is right around when we lost Connor.

Ok will post my info in a bit HAPPY FRIDAY!~

They may have you come into confirm but most likely if you have never experienced any problems they will say congrats and see you in 9 weeks or so. Well, I scheduled my doctor's appointment - December 2nd at 10am. :)

So, it took me a couple of phone calls to get the right place.

Call #1 went like this:

Receptionist: Hello
Me: Hello, I am a patient of Dr. So&So, and I had a positive home pregnancy test last night.
R: Ummm... ok? (insert really snotty tone)
M: Well, I was told I should call my Dr. when I received a positive result.
R: OH. Well, we don't do follow up OB work. GoodBye.
M: WAIT, Wait, wait! Is there someone you can refer me to.
R: (heavy sigh and then she gives me the names)

Of course, one of the phone numbers was wrong. What a piece of work.

So, I have always worked with male OB/GYN's, so this time I asked to be with a female, so have a female OB. Is one better than the other to work with? Anyone have any comparative notes to share?

She also counted how far along I was from my last period... wouldn't that be wrong? That would put me further along than I really am.

Jen - what a cruddy receptionist! I have a male gyno, and he's OK but I haven't decided if I want to stay with him. I've been with him for probably 6 or 7 years, and he was always very rushed when I'd go in for an annual. When DH and I go in for our first appointment, I'll see how it goes and make a decision from there. I really like his nurse, and she would handle most of the appointments anyways. :)

Speaking of the nurse, she didn't call back until nearly 3:00 today so I couldn't go in for my repeat beta. I'll be doing that tomorrow and get the results on Monday. I'm not worried for some reason... probably because my boobies are so tender and I keep having nauseous moments. :)

Congratulations and welcome to our growing little threadfamily nuhmah!! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/loveshower.gif (http://www.millan.net)

lizard Welcome back! I'm so glad the spotting stopped. It is not very fun. We're not supposed to deal with that anymore! Have you heard back from the dr's office yet?

nuhmah I think you probably truly ovulated around the CD14 or 15 mark so if you told them you LMP it would be decently accurate. If you did ovulate when FF says (and it smokes crack...I don't trust it at all) then it doesn't hurt anything. The only complication would be at your u/s your measurements wouldn't line up (they would say you are lets say 7w5d when by your LMP you should be 8w3d). If you have in mind how far along you are by LMP and by your suspected ovulation you should be fine and not freak out at the difference. I lied about my LMP because I ovulated later and didn't want to get an u/s too early to see anything.

Telling People We are waiting until after the 1st trimester to tell everyone. My other pregnancy we had told everyone and when I m/c'ed it was horrible having everyone give their advice and treat you so differently. Trust me you find out everyone and their mother had a m/c too and "look we have x number of kids now!" Doesn't help. So we want to wait until we are out of the most volitle period. DH's cousin is living with us so it is hard keeping it a secret. Suddenly there is a bunch of healthy food in the house and I am sleeping all the time. I'm just glad he hasn't asked too many questions.

What can I drink? I drink diet soda all the time - so now that the whole aspartame thing is out, what next? I drink 3 Nalgene's of water today (and ran to the bathroom inbetween periods all day) instead of my usual soda or two, and a ton of milk. Any suggestions?

Soulmate
10-29-2005, 08:24 AM
nuhmah There isn't too much you can drink. I've been drinking mostly water but OJ is very very good for you and you can also brew some decaf iced tea (unsweet though). They also have those diet sodas with Splenda. Now you can debate using splenda forever but the jist is that right now they think it is safe but it has not been around long enough to say for sure. So it is a judgement call. My personal stance is everything in moderation. If you are jonesing for a regular soda, one every now and again won't hurt...just not every day.

Is anyone getting really annoyed with how much they have to pee? I told DH that I wish I could just run around the house with no pants or underware on so I could just sit on the toilet and pee with no hassle. I swear I peed 3 times in one hour the other day.

I am in love with my acupuncturist! Tuesday night I started getting night sweats. Well, for me* night sweats only happen with an estrogen surge (not good in pregnancy) and happened my last pregnancy when I m/c'ed. So I told my acupuncturist when I was in there and he altered my herbs and last night was night sweat free!! Having him helps so much with my m/c fear.

* There is viturally no literature or info on what causes night sweats in pregnancy so if anyone else is getting night sweats...do not freak out. My attributing night sweats to m/c is only my own and possibly irrational.

I'm basically drinking whatever I feel like. My normal drink of choice is Diet Coke with Splenda, and I'm still drinking that but quite a bit less. I've increased my water intake, and when I'm thirsty I try to make myself drink water first. But if I REALLY want a soda, I don't deny it to myself. Same with food... I had tuna and deli meat this week, among other things.

Yeah, the bathroom thing is kinda annoying. I know it's not gonna get better for a while though, so I'm just dealing with it. :) I haven't really had the exhaustion hit yet, but I've noticed that when I do go to bed, I'm zonked out right away and sleep through the night. I'm a fairly light sleeper, so that's not typical for me.

I'm on call this weekend (sigh), but I need to head up to the hospital and have my repeat beta done, and we also have a Halloween party to go to tonight (provided I'm not at work).

Thanks for the suggestions, ladies! I guess I am doomed to be drinking milk and water! ;) I actually don't drink OJ - as a singer, the acidity hurts my throat. And when you already have nodules on your vocal chords, it doesn't help. Any other juice ok? I love cranberry juice.

I haven't gotten to the bathroom thing yet... thanks for warning me. Although, I did go to the bathroom more often than usual yesterday, and I attributed that to an increase in my fluids.

I'm off to Barnes and Noble today to try and find a book I like. I know there are tons of internet sites, but I am entering a season in teaching music we like to call Haedes. :D I have 3 symphony concerts this month, musical auditions, I am getting kids ready for honors choir in January, and December is open for Winter Concert season. I have 3 choir concerts alone to put on in December. I really don't have the time to sit on the internet, so I wanted a good book to keep with me.

I can't stand how much I'm peeing, either. I watched My Boss's Daughter last night and had to go to the bathroom ELEVEN TIMES!!!!! Yes, I counted. Of course, I was so thirsty I was drinking like a gallon of water, but still. Geez!

lizard I am with you on the deli meat thing. There is no proof that in this modern society that deli meat is going to do much harm. Things are so friggin processed which is about the only thing that is going to be bad for you. During my last pregnancy I asked my ob about deli meat and she called it "Lysteria Hysteria" and said that the only thing that will do harm is all the nitrates.

Congrats to all the July Mommies.

Mystikal - I like Your pregnancy week by week

nuhmah - regarding male and female ob/gyns. I've had both and my RE is a male and my current ob/gyn is a male. From my experience I love the males much more. They include DH in discussions and I don't feel rushed. Both my male doctors have a great sense of humor. Someone else may have the completely opposite experience. I would suggest picking one and see how your first appt goes. Also, ask around. If you don't feel comfortable, get a new doctor.

I seond your pregnancy week by week, WTE is scary and condescending. I also liked the Girlfriends Guide to Pregnancy for some laughs, If you like it get The Girlfriends Guide to the First Year cause you wont have time to read it then LOL!

I have a female OB who works with two men I like the men but prefer my female. If you are uncomfortable switch. Its too important to dela with an OB who is a hassle. Most OB nurses I have met are snotty. Once I called witha question and the biatch asked "Is this your first" umm no lady I am just asking a question, us PG people are allowed to wonder what the he11 is happening to our body!

As for drinking I drink also of iced tea (I make it) and allow myself 102 diet cokes without caffiene a day. I also have a small coffee with half caf.half not. My OB said one - two is OK a day.

Soulmate the night sweat thing is soo true. I got them the Sunday night before my postive test and thats how I knew to test!
I also get restless leg and I HATE it so much. It starts about month 2 and lasts the whole time.

We watched the Hostage last night is was OK but could have been shorter. I stayed up til 11 and got up with my little one at 7 and am beat as heck today.

OK off to make pumpkin cookies for the Halloween parade at daycare. UGH I have no idea why I didnt just sign up to bring juice boxes!

Hey everybody --- I'm tentatively stepping into this thread. I am only 11dpo, so a little nervous, but I also have a ton of questions! :)

I am so glad to hear that most of you are having cramps, too. Mine are pretty subtle, but undeniable. I don't have to pee much yet. I just feel really weak, like my blood sugar is low or I'm dehydrated or something. That was actually what tipped me off to test - I really wasn't hoping for anything this cycle. I actually had some infertility bloodwork done last Thursday at 2dpo. DH had a semen analysis done this Thursday, when I was 9dpo. I went to work on Friday and felt like absolute crap all day. I had been telling myself that I would not test until at least 16dpo, because I've seen enough BFNs to last a lifetime. I drove home from work, still feeling like crap, and DH wasn't home yet. I decided, "What the hell, Dollar Tree has tests, and it will only cost me $1.00 to satisfy my weirdo urge to POAS."

Well, that turned out to be a big surprise. :D

So, here are my stats:

CC Name: ShelbyMay
Me: Shelby, 25
DH: James, 27

Welcome Shelby!! :D I didn't hold out much hope for myself this cycle, either. I was very depressed and hating my body, so it was a shock to get a BFP. :)

So, just for sh1ts and giggles this afternoon I used my sisters Magic 8 ball and asked if I was going to have a boy. Response? Yes, definitely. Then I asked if I was going to have a girl. Response? Yes, definitely. Then I asked if I was going to have twins. Response? As I see it, yes. I don't know if I believe in those things, but twins do run in my family and they skip a generation. My grandmother had twin brothers and there haven't been any twins on my mothers side since so we are due...we shall see...

So, July Mommies -- Did you tell anyone yet? DH and I have only known for 26 hours and we are both about to burst. Actually, we already slipped and told 2 people who were not supposed to be the first to know (a friend and a neighbor).

I am wondering if I should go ahead and tell my family, even though I know my mom's opinion on telling early...

But wouldn't I *want* close friends and family to know so that they could be supportive if something went wrong? I think it'd be even worse to have them ask "When are you going to have kids?" if I'd just had a miscarriage.

Soulmate
10-29-2005, 09:53 PM
ShelbyMay I posted in your other thread. The jist for others in here though is that, in my experience, you don't get the kind of support you imagine if you do miscarry. Telling people early is great in hindsight when you have a healthy pregnancy, but I deeply regretted it...even telling my mom and dad. Both are very supportive in different ways and both sucked at supporting me through my m/c. My mom was great during but she kept asking me if I was pregnant again for *months* afterwards. My dad just didn't know how to handle it and I think for him it was almost like having a conversation about your period (very awkward). I think a m/c is just something people don't know how to handle well. It is a very typical occurance but no one ever talks about it so no one knows how to deal with someone who does talk about it. And please trust me that I never thought I would lose the pregnancy last time (hence telling everyone). I wish I had the innocence like some other ladies do and have successful stories to tell about telling others about your pregnancy. That is forever gone when you have a miscarriage. ETA: I always responded "when we do" or "when it happens" or "we're trying" when people ask when we are having kids who didn't know our history. After the m/c you are in a better place to field those questions and can then even say "we've had a miscarriage". It is just different when its over then while you are actually going through it. There is no way to truely understand the pain of a m/c unless you've gone through one. Mine was fairly early (7w2d) and things just happen during it that suck beyond belief and it is really hard to accept support when people don't know that kind of pain (at least for me).

Mystikal Were you on clomid? I can't remember. Wouldn't that be crazy if you were pregnant with twins? I've thought about it too cause my betas were so high and my mom is a twin and I have twin paternal cousins. But I always had one follicle even on clomid so I doubt it.

Welcome Shelby and klav. Well I didnt get alot of support when I miscarried really, not alot of people truly know what to say. Your mom sure if you are close or something but ... my siblings and friends were weirded out. They were as well when we lost Connor. My DH doesnt want to tell til its safe. Well based on what I have been through that would be 37 weeks, kinda hard to hind. I just have a really good feeling about things this time.

numah we are just about to rip our the ceiling in our basement and repaint and put up one of those wood ceilings. We are in NJ and have a smaller house. The basement is our entertainment room, play room and office so I am dreading it. I want it done but Ryan plays down there so much. Oh well. Good luck with the kitchen. Ours was out of commission when we put in Pergo and it was a biatch.

Twins... I know I couldnt handle it. I think its amazing but I remmeber how hard thenewborn stage was with one and I would be in the looney bin if I had two of them. :-)

My craps are tapering off a bit now. Never any spottingjust like period cramps. I hate it cause its scary. But totally normal.

Well off to figure out how to entertain my little one til 9 or so. Have a great day!

Welcome Klav!! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/congratualtions.gif (http://www.millan.net) So many of us need some sticky vibes this time around don't we?

nuhmah Any other juice ok? I love cranberry juice. I don't know. I assume so. With all drinks other than tea or water you have to watch out for calories and if you are at risk for gestational diabetes, the sugars. If you have a hard time getting healthy calories or your metabolism is good I would assume there is nothing to worry about.

Shelby we told our families the day we found out. A lot of people want to wait until they are out of the proverbial woods, but we figured if G-d forbid we lost the baby we would need the support of our friends and family.

Yay!! Welcome and congrats klav and shelby!!!!

Not much going on here... I went and bought a couple of books this weekend to begin my reading. I am really not feeling any symptoms, but I did have a dizzy spell in the middle of Home Depot yesterday. Great.

DH took next week (not this week, but the following week) off from work, so hopefully he can get my base cabinets in so the counter people can come make a template. We finished running all the electrical in the room this morning - right now we are arguing about how to run the undercabinet lighting.

Cautiously checking this thread out :)

I got a very faint + on Friday, a darker- but still faint + yesterday, and a "pregnant" on a digital test today. So, I cannot deny it any longer!

I should probably introduce myself...

CC Name: Wrighty26
Me: Michelle, 27
DH: Dan, 27
Married: 12/28/02

EDD: 7.8.06
Gender Prediction: My first instinct is Boy- but I'm good with either!
Any other children: Nope, this is our first!

I've already told two people other than Dan that I suspected I was knocked up-- my college roommate who was visiting this weekend (she's also TTC) and my best friend from grad school. Honestly, if something did happen- I would most definitely call these two girls for support. We're waiting to tell our families...maybe after the first Dr. appt or around the holidays!

I'm on pins and needles waiting for my second blood test results. I have no reason NOT to think they'll be fine, since I've still got plenty of symptoms, but I'm still anxiously awaiting them. She should call me tomorrow morning.

Speaking of symptoms, my poor boobies are absolutely killing me, especially at night and in the morning. I think they get extra sore because they get squished up while I sleep. I keep having to remind DH "Hands Off". :)

Soulmate, isnt it terrible feeling to lie. For some reason tonight everyone called us, parents, siblings, aunts and uncles and I was like yeah nothing new here at all. Of course I want to shout from rooftops!

Lizard I have my third and final (if all goes well) blood test tomorrow. Its a PITA waiting for results. I get mine same day though so thats at least one thing but seriously I WAIT for that phone to ring.

Do you all work? I just started back consulting, I left work last April as a Media Director when I was on bedrest with Connor. I knew I wasnt cut of for SAH but I ended up taking a few months off after we lost him and JUST started literally 2 weeks ago at a new company 10 minutes from home.. I mean I am not even an employee really but I have to say the pay is awesome and I would like to stay with it. (I dread going on bed rest again) anyway I wont tell them til Jan or anything but I feel bad.

I told my DH my boobies were hurting and rock hard and he tell me "oh stop withy our dirty talk" Poor guys knows that the first trimester is a dry spell for him!

I am so dead tired. I haven't been this tired since I was student teaching, commuting an hour, had 12 private students, and a waitressing job. I don't even think I was this tired then.

Because of our remodel, my washer and dryer are not connected. We have to wait until most of the plumbing is inspected so we can add the w/d hookups in the basement (the previous owners had the water draining/comin in through a sink, and a horrible dryer hookup), so I have been doing bi-weekly trips to the laundromat. I swear I almost fell asleep folding Jamie's shirts. :o Its only 8:30, and I am almost down for the count.

About work... yep, I do! I teach middle school, and we have talked about me taking next year off instead of doing a short maternity leave, or having to go back halfway through the year. If I build up a private studio (bigger than I have now), I can make as much, if not more, doing that. Sometimes being a teacher stinks.

Sorry I rambled!!!

ETA: I began reading "A Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" tonight. Hilarious!

I am feeling really tired, also. I took a 3 hour nap this afternoon, and am ready to go back to bed again (still before my usual bedtime). I thought I better take advantage of my option-to-nap before heading back to work this week.

I do work fulltime, but mine is an unusual situation. DH and I both work for a company owned by my parents. We work in different capacities, so we're only actually together at work for an hour or less most days. I work in an office right next to my mom's office, so I spend a LOT of time with her. That is one of the main reasons why I am anxious to go ahead and tell my family -- I figure they'll notice my fatigue and nausea pretty soon, and I'd much rather tell them than have them guess it -- or even worse, not guess it and just think that I am really slacking at work.

Wrighty26
10-31-2005, 03:22 AM
Thanks for the warm welcome ladies :D

I went to bed at 9 last night (I could have gone to bed at 8, but forced myself to stay awake!), but here I am wide awake @ 5am. I'm sure I'll want to go back to sleep right as I leave for work!

As for work- I am an instructional designer/assistant project manager (develop training). I have 2 coworkers who are pregnant-- and it hasn't really effected their role within the company. Both are taking 3 month (unpaid :() off after their births, but are coming back. I'm positive I'll do the same. The one great thing about my job is that I'll probably be able to work from home a couple of days a week for a little while. I don't plan on telling work until the
2nd trimester, for sure!

I'm calling the Dr. today! I never thought I would be so excited to do that :)

Question: What's the protocol with pregnancy and exercise these days? I really enjoy working out and I hope to as long as I can. I mainly run, but I don't know how safe that is, so I may switch to walking at an incline.

Happy Halloween!

Mystikal

Working I work full-time right now, but I'm hoping DH and I can work out a way for me to SAH once the baby comes. If I have to go back to work my mom will babysit, but I would still rather be the one with my baby all day, y'know?
Wrighty I've been walking five times a week and doing some light weight work, but that's it. I just try not to get too overheated or anything. I'm going to ask my doctor on Wednesday at my appt what is okay and what isn't. You might want to check www.fitpregnancy.com. :)

Wrighty26 I'm right there with you on the exercise thing I'm also calling my DR. this Am..... Hoping to get an apt. this week or next.!!

I had some cramping this am I'm hoping that it's normal ?? it was right before I was to get up.

Mystikal
10-31-2005, 06:44 AM
klav the cramping is definitely normal. I will be six weeks tomorrow and I'm still getting it occasionally-usually when I have to pee really bad, but sometimes just out of the blue. Your uterus (sp?) is going to stretch quite a bit in the next few weeks to make room for the baby so while it's unsettling it's nothing to worry about. Good luck getting an appointment with your doc! :)

kellyann1972
10-31-2005, 07:00 AM
For the running... my friend is a huge runner and in the second trimester her doc told her to switch to the eliptical machine, lower impact. And I know you have to stop exercising on your back in the 2nd tri too. I mostly walk.

I am so jealous of you ladies who can nap! With a toddler its impossible! Ryan takes one nap so usually I lay down then but its hard to sleep on demand.

Since this is a new job I cant appear tired etc. With Ryan people I work with must have known cause I was such a slacker (I didnt like the job much anyway!)

We are big blabber mouths -- DH's mom, dad, stepdad, stepmom, siblings, siblings' spouses, siblings' girlfriends, and his sister's random friend from church all know because they were all at lunch yesterday when we announced it. (I made the friend from church promise to keep it a secret until we're ready to make a church-wide announcement.)

We've also told 4 of our friends, and will tell my family on Thursday. Oh, and I'm having lunch with another friend on Friday, so I will tell her then. Oh, and one of our neighbors knows, and I bet he told his family. Oh, and DH called our former pastor (also a friend of his) the day after we got the BFP.

So, basically, the whole freaking world will know within a week of our BFP.

What are you all eating? Have your eating habits changed since you found out? I was eating a ton of junk last week, and actually figured that's why I was feeling so crappy. Since I found out we're having a baby, all I've wanted is protein, iron, and calcium. Okay, and Twizzlers. But mostly healthy stuff, which I can usually not convince myself to eat.

Actually in a way people will know soon. My brother called to ask us to go out like "Old Times" in Manhattan, we all lived close to each other up there. Well ... I am known to enjoy a few and smoke when I drink so within 10 minutes if I donthave a dirnk EVERYONE will know. Really thoats how everyone knows I am PG I stop smoking and drinking. (how sad huh!)

As for eating usually the first tri I am all about carbs. For two weeks all I ate for dinner was 3 scrambled eggs and a big a $$ egg bagel with real butter. My DH thought I was nuts. This time I am trying to be really good. I never gain more than 20 lbs with each PG no matter what I eat which is odd I guess in a way I am lucky. (which is why they thought I had IUGR but I swear I eat)

Since being PG with Ryan I can not eat shell fish no idea why but I hate it and I loved lobster and shrimp. I also cant eat much red meat, I will eat a burger or fillet thats it. Its really weird what PG does to your body. Cravings and aversions are no joke.

Got my numbers back...

13 DPO - 107.8
18 DPO - 2,382

I said "I assume that's good" and the nurse said "That's FANTASTIC". Since I assumed doubling every 48-72 hours, that number is way higher than I figured.

I have an appt. with the nurse now on Nov. 7th, probably just to go over basic things. Then I still have the U/S appt. on the 18th.

We were going to wait until after the 18th to tell people, but now we've decided to tell the folks tonight, and other people as necessary.

Eating... I really haven't changed my habits much, but I'm drinking LOTS of water. I will really miss my sushi - that was one of my tasty treats. Funny about the red meat thing... I LOVE steak, but I have had no taste for red meat at all. Chicken, especially grilled, sounds great though. :)

Wow Lizard that awesome!

I made my first Dr. appt today for Dec 7th. I think I'll be about 9- 9.5 weeks along at that point (if all goes well!). It feels like forever, but really it's only 5 weeks away!

As for eating - I'm relatively healthy as it is, so I plan to continue eating healthy as much as possible. I think I need more calcium, more than anything, so I might try to add some to my diet!

Does anyone NOT feel hungry? I don't feel sick or anything, I'm just not hungry and when I do eat- I feel full right away...

:o Great googlely moogelely I missed a lot...I'll try to catch up...

Work I counsel (mental health) kids/teenagers with medical and psychological diagnoses (like Diabetes & Depression) and their families. I absolutely cannot afford to look/feel tired but I do both especially on Fridays. Morning sickness is an absolute no-no for me since I'll have deviant kids in my office doing god knows what while I'm puking so I'm pretty nervous about that.

Food I just started eating healthier and really trying to get my fruits and veggies. The only thing I've even slightly craved has been dairy. I'm also laying off the sweet tea and switched to decaf tea in the mornings. Oh, and I'm drinking a ton of water but that is mostly because I feel constantly dehydrated.

Gender prediction Chinese Chart says boy, acupuncturist says boy, DH and I both want boy :D

ShelbyMay That is very typical for non-risk patients. The standard at my obgyn is 8-10 weeks and I'm going in at around 8 1/2 weeks (and I'm high risk).

icedwhite Welcome to the thread and sending you sticky vibes...I hope you'll be with us in July too.

Wrighty I felt like that in the beginning but am back to normal now. Now I eat like I normally do...just with extra gas :o

Lizard Awesome numbers! Congratulations! Feels nice to have a little extra assurance huh?

Klav I've stopped temping. The golden rule of charting is that once you get a BFP you put the thermometer away. I temped a couple times since then when I had night sweats to make sure my temp wasn't dropping. And I haven't gotten indigestion yet but I'm sure I will.

For those of you who have experienced cramping during the early stages of your pregancy, how intense would you say the sensation was (let's figure a pain scale of 1-10)? Also, how many days/weeks did it go on for? Thanks for the info!

I've been having cramps for a while... basically they feel like O pain to me. They don't really feel like regular AF cramps for some reason. I think because they've mostly been isolated on the left side of my abdomen, with some on the right. None of the pain has been like double-over pain, but a few twinges have caught me by surprise. :) I get them all day long, but they seem to be more noticeable in the mornings.

Exercise - I've been working out for a long time so this is important to me. Prior to pregnancy, I'd do about 45 minutes on the elliptical doing intervals, maybe some more time on the bike if I wasn't exhausted, and also some weights (alternating upper and lower body each time). I did that every other day, and the days in between I'd try to go for a walk outside. Now I've been doing about 30-45 minutes on the bike, and I've lowered my weight but I'm still doing that. I'm also walking on the off-days, at least until it gets too cold and slippery outside. I tried doing the elliptical but the motion really hurt my boobs. :( I've also noticed I get tired way faster than I did. I'm going to talk to the nurse about exercise in more detail at my appt. on Monday.

Well, we told the folks yesterday. :D My mother kept asking me if I was kidding, because it was Halloween. She freaked out for a good, long time. This is my parents' first grandchild so they're quite excited. DH called his folks and told them too... it's their 4th grandchild but they were just as excited. It was a hectic night. Even though we asked our families not to tell too many people too quickly, I have a feeling everyone knows by now....

Funny how so many of you are feeling dehydrated and wanting to drink water all the time. I'm having the same thing. I'm pretty sure I'm drinking 100 OZ a day by now... mostly water but also some milk and a soda now and then. I feel thirsty ALL the time!

nuhmah
11-01-2005, 11:59 AM
I am so tired today! I have not had any other symptoms, really. By bb's aren't any bigger (or tender), but I do have weird cramping. I fell asleep on the couch last night at 8:15, and it was a struggle to get up this morning.

Eating - I am eating a bit better. Trying to eat more fruits and veggies, and my soda intake has gone to zilch. I did go to the store last night and pick up some Fresca - I love that stuff!

Exercise - before we started our house remodel, I worked out 5 days a week for a couple hours at a time. We suspended our membership until January, so maybe I will begin going again around that time. I will talk to my Dr. about it first, though. There is a Yoga for Preggo women class that I want to take, as well as get in the pool again. I have been trying to walk quite a bit, as well as push-ups and sit-ups. Kind of hard during the rainy season in Oregon, but I am trying!

I am finding that the longer I know about being preggo, the easier it is to not tell anyone. Well, kind of. It is hard when my mother calls, but other than that it is pretty easy. We have no family here where we live, and we don't talk with our families that often to begin with. My parents and DH's mother are going to be ecstatic as this will be their first grandchild. It will be the 6th grandchild for his dad and step-mom, so while they will be happy for us it probably won't be as big a deal.

Lizard how strange! This is my parents first grandchild and DH's parents fourth as well! :)
MMK I had AF like cramps as well as sharper cramps and sometimes they got around a seven, but not too often. Generally they were around a four or so. I'm six weeks today and I may get them once a day now, if that. They have really tapered off in the last week. HTH!

Well, ladies, my first doctor appointment is tomorrow morning at ten. Since DH can't get off from work my mom is coming with me. I was freaking myself out this morning thinking "what if something is wrong" and bad thoughts like that. I actually had a breakdown at my desk this morning. :( I'm feeling a bit better now, but still very anxious. *sigh*

MMKFor those of you who have experienced cramping during the early stages of your pregancy, how intense would you say the sensation was (let's figure a pain scale of 1-10)? Also, how many days/weeks did it go on for? Hmmm. Like Lizard they felt sort of like O pains and isolated to the left side (side I ovulated/implanted on). The longest it lasted consistently was 2 days and I haven't gotten it since. On a scale from 1-10 I would say they were a 3/4. Last night though I got a very strong cramp on the right that made me double over. It was immediately after I stood up quickly. But it lasted like 10 seconds.

I think I am going to cry. I seriously have to crawl my way through my day at work. I have to actually be present and on top of things for about 80% of my day and it's hard. I have a day off Friday and I don't know how I'm going to make it through full weeks at work. I'm very grateful it is the holiday season and we'll be getting more days off. Also, I'm a freak. I felt normal (no symptoms at all) for like 3 hours today and I was letting my mind go in the miscarriage zone. I have to stop that. Even though I complain, I wouldn't give up this baby for the world!

I don't know. I have never met with this doc before as my old doc moved to Florida in June, so I don't know what her procedure is. I really would like to get one just to ease my mind because they really can't tell anything without one, except that my uterus is enlarged, right? They can't actually tell if the baby is okay...I know it would ease my mind a bit.

Hey ladies,

"Morning sickness" has set in. I threw up 11 times in the first 6 hours of my day, and twice more in the next 3 hours. I tried to tough it out, but after the 11th time, I had my DH call my doctor's office. They called in a prescription that will hopefully help me. Unfortunately, the pharmacy is backed up and I can't get the prescription for at least another hour.

The upside is that I was able to leave work after the 9th time (one of the good things about working for my family). I went ahead and told my parents the news this morning when I started to realize what kind of day it was going to be, and they are very happy and excited. I also told my brother and SIL, and they seemed excited, too.

I napped off and on for about 3 hours, and then finally felt well enough to try getting out of bed. I think I've been out of bed for a good 20 minutes now, sipping ginger ale, and feeling a little better. I am relieved, because, honestly, I was getting really bored in there all by myself.

ShelbyMay I am so sorry m/s has hit you so badly so soon :( That just sounds miserable. Its good you work for your family so I'm sure they'll be very understanding. I guess one bright side is that m/s indicates a more solid pregnancy (higher progesterone causes m/s).

Mystikal I hope you get an u/s tomorrow to help ease you mind. I so very much wish I could get one early. If not maybe they'll run bloodwork that will confirm that everything is o.k. How embarrassing would it have been if the president saw you sleeping!

Wrighty I forgot to add that I am very jealous of your growing bussoms. I am an A and haven't grown a bit. I didn't get anything from puberty...I better get something now!

Gender Prediction: No idea. I'd be fine with either.
Any other children: DS, 13; DD, 10 1/2

I've been having nausea, fatigue, my boobs are big, sore, and have veins all over them.

I don't really recognize anyone from when I was actively TTC, so here's a little background (crossposted from my LJ):

Louie and I have been married a little over 2 years (Aug. 2, 2003). We started TTC right away, and got pg in Dec. 2003. Then I miscarried a few weeks later right before Christmas. I was devastated. That was followed soon after by two chemical pregnancies. TTC became very stressful, so there were times we were taking breaks, then would start again, I'd get stressed, and we'd take another break--sort of every other cycle. I didn't have any more positive HPT results, even when we timed it really well and my charts showed I was Oing. We got a referral to an RE, but we ended up not following through with that because just charting was stressing me out, and I didn't want my stress levels to get more severe. Eventually we stopped TTC altogether. We haven't made a conscious effort to get pg in close to a year, I guess, but we've been pretty lax about avoiding as well (using withdrawal rather than abtaining).

Other pertinent info--I quit my job about a month ago, and my last day of insurance was Oct. 31. I'm scrambling for a new job/insurance now. Not sure when my first appt. will be.

klav, I think you mean portability?

I was offered Cobra as well as the option to get on DH's insurance (we worked at the same place), but I declined because the premiums were so high plus I thought I'd have a job by now. I just found out from one of CC's resident HR experts, dionysia, that I have up to 30 days after my coverage expires to get on DH's insurance, so I'm going to get on it as soon as he gets back from a business trip (he gets back tomorrow night-so really I have to wait till Friday), and I'm also going to keep looking for a job.

Hi Sophie and WELCOME! I am so glad you got your BFP this month!!!

Alot of OBs wont do an u/s til 20 weeks. I will have one at 6 weeks, 8 weeks and then 12 and then 18. After than depends on how the baby is growing. With Connor I had one every week from 19 weeks on. I used to think it would be great to have so many but now I just wish I had no complications and only had one!!!!

Cause I am crazy I rented a doppler with Ryan. If calmed my nerves alot. I was able to reassure myself listening to the HB plus I taped it and sent it to my parents. I think I paid $25/month. BUt like Isaid I am a wack a doo!

OK I am off to hunt down Halloween Candy. :-)

Congrats MMK! I called my OB on Monday. I got my first BFP (but didn't believe it) on Thursday night-- I waited till I got the digital "pregnant" to call. I don't think it REALLY matters if your OB waits until 8-10 weeks for your first appointment.

Welcome Sophia! I vaguely remember you from the WC... Nothing like a life changing event to bring on ANOTHER life changing event!

Mystikal - Sorry there was no u/s-- but it's very good news that you like your OB!

Icedwhite - I think I forgot to congratulate you on your super high betas yesterday-- that's awesome!

Kellyann - Hmmm I MIGHT consider renting a doppler. I think I would OBSESSED though!

I have a feeling this back pain I've got is sticking around. It feels like I've pulled my back out! I'm hoping this is normal...I also have been feeling the strangest pulling sensation in my lower abdomen region the last couple of nights while I've been lying in bed relaxing. I hope it's the uterus stretching out and not anything else! I almost wish I had more symptoms so I could believe that I am actually pregnant... (I think I should be careful what I wish for though!)

Holy crap Sophia!!! Congratulations! I totally remember you from the old WC TTC thread and everything you went through (I think I was still TTA but a big time lurker in the TTC thread). Sending you the stickiest of all the sticky vibes! (can you tell I'm excited?).

Welcome officially MMK. I hear ya on the freaking out. It does get a little better but you still hyperanalyse everything. To answer your question, I got my BFP on a Saturday and called on Monday. I have a different history though and needed to get betas drawn right away.

Wrighty Do you know if you have a tilted uterus? I've heard back pain is common because the uterus is closer to the back than the front.

Mystikal ARGH! for no u/s until 20 weeks! I can imagine hearing the heartbeat will be completely satisfying though. After all the baby doesn't look like much in the first u/s' anyway.

ShelbyMay Thinking of you and hope you've been able to stay away from the toilet.

So I had a nice full day of feeling completely queasy today. So much so that I had to keep swallowing to make sure everything stayed down. I half wish for m/s and half don't. At least I will really feel pregnant if I have m/s.

Soulmate-- You know I was told that I do have a tilted uterus, way back in college by a NP-- but it's never been brought up again. So who knows-- it could be that! My back pain could also be attributed to over-exerting myself at the gym on Tuesday. I've taken a couple of days off and it definitely isn't as sore. Though, it mainly bothers me at night--when I'm really tired and cranky!

Weighty I also have a tilted uterus. I had TONS of back and leg pain and also didnt feel as much movement early cause of the palcement of it. WEIRD huh? that could be it.

I dont feel an nasuea at all! Weird huh? I expect it will kick in in a few weeks. I do scarf food though :-) I have discovered banana creme yogurt and its my new fave breakfast!

My big worry now is how to deal with Ryan. I have to get some books on toddlers and babies etc. I am wondering how on earth I can love anyone as much as him?? I also feel bad cause after all we have been through there isnt the bells and whistles we had when we were PG before.

Happy Thursday everyone!

do any of you have any symptoms? I have sore BB bt I think that's all. wondering... I worry because this feels like last time. I did not yet anything and MC at 8 weeks. I'm hoping for something so I know or at least feel like it's going OK.

Sophia

do any of you have any symptoms?

I think there's such a huge range of "normal" there, from woman to woman and even from pregnancy to pregnancy. With my previous pregnancies, I didn't get this nauseated so quickly. I didn't have any nausea with DD until 7 or 8 weeks, and threw up a few times (I also spotted with her when AF was due, enough that I thought I wasn't pg--a BFN a few days before had "confirmed" that--turns out I was pg and she was fine). With DS I only threw up once. I wish I remembered more, but they're soooo old already, it's hard to remember details.

My bbs are sore, and they also have very pronounced blue veins (I'm very fair, so they show quickly). I also have fatigue, nausea, and food aversions, but I feel hungry all the time. Also scatterbrained. I'm making waaaay more typos! And I'm not sure if this is pg-related, but I have been running a low grade fever off and on since Monday night.

ETA: Frequent urination.

Last night I got up to make something to eat (tortellini) and had eaten most of it but needed to refill my water. When I went back to my plate, the sight and smell made me feel really nauseated, even though I had been eating it with no problem literally a minute before. I had to throw the rest away, and it was weird because I had to turn away from my plate and hold my breath as I carried it to the trash.

kellyann1972

klav, I have nothing but sore BBs too. I didnt get m/s til like 10 weeks and it was fairly mild then anyway. I wouldnt start worrying yet :-)

Yeah, but going by LMP is inaccurate. Besides, I don't keep track of such things (I feel like such a freak! :p). It was sometime the last week of Sept. Any more specific than that, I don't know.

I found a place that lets you enter "date of conception" (I'm pretty sure in my case) to figure out the EDD and how far along you are. :)

Wow, this thread is moving fast already today! Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

klav: I have nothing but sore bb's and some very sporadic cramps/twinges in my lower abdomen. I do seem a bit more tired than usual as well.

sophia: I think I o'd around the 16th as well but since my period started on the 2nd of the month all the calculators put me at 4 weeks 4 days. I wonder why such a big discrepancy? Though I'm not a charter so I very well may have o'd later than I'm thinking.

wrighty: sorry to hear about your sore back! I know how bothersome that can be! In your post you mentioned going to the gym. Are you keeping up your same workout pre-bfp? I'm trying but feel super weak. Also, I switched over to the eliptical because I have this irrational fear that running will jiggle the baby lose.

soulmate: thanks for reassuring me that I'm not the only one freaking out. It's starting to make me feel like a crazy person. I asked dh last night when he thought I would start to be less scared and he said "probably when the baby gets married." GRRREEEEAAAAT.

Klav - the only symptoms I've really had are sore bbs and occasional waves of nausea. Nothing real pronounced so far. I can only hope it stays this way. :)

I did have some very VERY bad cramping last night, that kind of scared me. It's gone away today though, and I'm back to my usual pokey cramps. Nearly all of them are on the left, which would be my O side, and that has me a little concerned about ectopic. I will mention it to my nurse at my appt. on Monday. I'd think if it was ectopic I'd be in more pain... these aren't too bad.

I already had a blow-out with my mother about telling people. She has literally told EVERYONE. She called nearly every member of my family after I told her, and get this... she went to the doctor yesterday and told her doctor AND told people in the waiting room. I asked her specifically NOT to tell too many people because we're so early and I would feel more comfortable with less people knowing. Now the whole friggin' world seems to know. I'm mostly upset because this is such a big breach of trust and lack of consideration on my mom's part. When I confronted her about it, she just laughed it off and said "You don't need to be worried about anything, nothing's going to happen". NOBODY knows that. She also admitted that she's "telling everyone". I told her again to PLEASE not tell everyone. This is par for the course for my mom, so I'm sure this is just the beginning of a big crap-fest as far as her and my pregnancy go. :(

Sorry... probably the hormones but I just had to vent... she makes me so mad.

Mystikal, your EDD is my dad's birthday! :)

Shelby: I'm so sorry your m/s is so bad! :(

MMK: I'm sure if I put in the range of possible dates for my LMP, the EDDs would be all over the place. ;)

Soulmate, Wrighty, kellyann, Mystikal, and all, thanks for the warm welcome! :D

Telling People: Well, DH is actually out of town for work this week. He left Monday, I tested Tuesday evening and called him right away, the posted in LJ. Other than that, I haven't told anyone. We agreed that we want to wait until things are further along, maybe Thanksgiving, or Christmas.

Eating Habits: Just makign sure to focus on protein. I may actually boil some eggs later, and I hate eggs. I rarely drink alcohol, so that's no biggie.

Work: Between jobs. I'm certified to teach English.

Chinese Chart: boy

Cramping: I've been having a bit of pulling/pinching in my sides, similar to O pains.

hi everyone,

i'm a bit crushed. i got back my second set of betas and they dropped slightly:

15DPO: 1220
17DPO: 1125

does this mean i've miscarried? i'm so confused. i thought that the numbers would drop pretty quickly if i did. i had bleeding 14 and 15DPO so i would think that's when the miscarriage happened. i plan to talk to the nurse this morning.

i'm glad to hear you guys are doing well with your pregnancies!

Lizard Your Mom and My MIL sound about the same. That's why we have a fear of telling her. she can not keep a secret! to save her life!!
we decided to tell parents around thanksgiviing and only the parents the rest at christmas.
I hope your cramps subside.
MMK I deid not got to the gym for two day' and yesterday went back I use the eliptical but I did not push as hard as I useually do
icedwhite keep us posted, sorry that they dropped:(

Sophia
11-03-2005, 08:17 AM
icedwhite, I'm sorry your betas are lower. But they still seem high. It might be that you were pregnant with twins and lost one, but the other is ok. That also fits with the bleeding you had, followed by higher than expected betas.

I'll keep you in my thoughts.

icedwhite, I'm sorry about the drop in your betas. My first thought, since they're still pretty high, is that maybe the first check was inaccurate. Then I thought the same thing as sophiadp:

icedwhite, I'm sorry your betas are lower. But they still seem high. It might be that you were pregnant with twins and lost one, but the other is ok. That also fits with the bleeding you had, followed by higher than expected betas.

Please keep us updated.

As for me, well... either DH is pregnant, or what I had 2 days ago was not morning sickness. He is having the same symptoms today.

Meanwhile, I'm feeling pretty good now. I'm still having slight cramps (kind of like I need to have a BM). I had really strong cramping in my lower back yesterday, mostly on the right side. That worried me, since it was the day FF had predicted AF to be due. But, that day came and went, and no AF.

I can empathize with people telling when they're not supposed to: We told DH's immediate family on Sunday, and yesterday he got a call from his cousin who lives across the country. She had heard from her mom, who heard from her MIL, who heard from somebody else, who heard from DH's mom that we're having a baby. Gee, thanks for respecting my warning about how it's still really early and we want to be cautious about telling too many people.

DH thinks it's amusing that his mom is "funny". Grrr...

Why do I suddenly feel so protective, like our privacy has been violated?

Wrighty26

I'm gone for a couple of hours and this thread goes crazy!

icedwhite - You are definitely in my thoughts! Let us know what the nurse says. I hope the Dr. gets you in soon!

MMK - I worked out on Monday and Tuesday-- I walked for 50 minutes on Monday and ran/walked for 50 minutes on Tuesday. I think the running aggrevated my back. I couldn't do the elliptical- my boobs are too tender!

Lizard - Sorry about your mom! This is definitely one reason we haven't told our parents yet. They wouldn't keep their mouths shut even if we bribed them!

Symptoms: I have very few. Besides the ones I've already complained about  when I get hungry- I feel kinda blah, not necessary sick to my stomach-- but if I don't eat, I feel like might get sick.

I have more shout-outs to give...but I haven't to get back to work!

IcedWhite, those are some pretty high betas! The average at 15 DPO is 522 so perhaps they are leveling and then will go up. Also if different labs tested them there can be a discrepancy.

Shelby and Lizard sorry about your families! That happened to us with Ryan with DH's family. We told one aunt and went out for lunch and came home to 15 messags!

We arent even telling DHs family til we have too. SIL just had a m/c which is terrible but MIL and BIL ganged up on me and told us DH and I cant understand what this is like (? HUH ? ) cause we didnt go through it. Somehow they forgot we had 3 m/c before Ryan and also they forgot about Connor. MIL quickly amended herself and said well Kelly isnt as sensitive as *****. Obviously I dont grieve well enough for her so I cant possibly understand. Truth be told they will be lucky if I ever let them see my children again. The woman was at my sons funeral for Christ's sake! So Telling them isnt a priority for me at all.

Anyone else sleep like the dead lately. I have been going to bed at 9 and getting up at 7 and still dragging. I didnt even hear the baby monitor this am. Luckily DH has been picking up the slack!

Any of you taking a baby moon? We did a trip when I was about 4 months to get travel out of our system!

Welcome MaKayla's Mommy! I love love your daughters name! Its one of my considerations for this time around.

kellyann1972
11-03-2005, 11:20 AM
I have had two sections so I dont know about a VBAC for me. We thought about it with Connor but when I had to deliver after we lost him I wanted to go under and have it done. My Dr is really dicey about trying now after having had 2.

My Dr was FINE with it the second time if I wanted to try.

MaKayla's Mommy
11-03-2005, 11:26 AM
Kellyann-Thanks! Well this time around is much different. With my first pregnancy I felt great the whole 7 1/2 months. This time I can't keep anything down DH and I are hoping that is a good sign. DD was an emergency c/s at 33 weeks because I developed preeclampsia So maybe this pregnancy will different altogether

MaKayla's Mommy
11-03-2005, 11:30 AM

No two is usually it. When I was about 5 months with Connor it was discussed, but he also had IUGR like Ryan and they were afraid he might be too weak. The OB said it was fine to try it. But after we lost him it didnt enter my mind that if I had a section I would never try child birth vaginally.

Sometimes I feel bad cause I have never had any labor. Ryan couldnt stand it and this time I will have a scheduled section as well. Everyone always thinks of the "honey its time" moment and I never got it. I guess in the long run it doesnt matter so long as they come out healthy ...

But your OB should be cool with it for you!

I had 2 c/s. The first was unscheduled. I had it after making no progress at all--turns out it was CPD and malpresentation (face first & not even parallel to my pelvic bones). With DD I scheduled it. I doubt I'll try VBAC.

I don't think I'll get to all the shoutouts but I'll try....

Welcome to the preggo gang MaKayla's Mommy!!

Lizard Yup...my mom did the same exact thing last pregnancy which is a large reason why I'm not saying anything now. Mine apologized and *swore* that she wouldn't do it again and begged me to tell her again right away. Then months later my SIL got pregnant and she blabbed again. I too felt incredibly betrayed. I told her specifically that we had m/c's and not to tell anyone yet...and she still did...and I m/c'ed. She means well but cannot keep a secret to save her life.

Sophia I think you are more 4w5d rather than 5 weeks. I conceived on 10/11 and am 5 weeks. I too have been having horrible typos. That happens to be one of my preggo symptoms. I am also having a very hard time articulating...I've been sooo tounge tied!

Icedwhite Dropping betas is usually not a good sign. They should double and not decrease. However, Sophia had a really good point about the twin so all hope shall not be lost just yet.

ShelbyMay Thank god that probably wasn't m/s. I was really worried with it so severe so early. You were going to be in for a very long road.

Kellyann I seriously think I would hit someone if they said something like that to me after I lost my son at 35 weeks. That is just plain evil.

Babymoon DH and I planned to go to SoCal/Vegas in January before we conceived so we will still be going. We used to live in NoCal and are visiting a lot of friends out there. We will probably surprise them then and tell them about our little bean.

So my mom is coming to visit tomorrow. I talked to her yesterday and she mentioned me and DH going out to Seattle next summer. Here is how our convo went (more or less):

Me: It depends on my pregnancy status (we still have told her yet)
Mom: What do you mean?
Me: Well if I'm very pregnant I won't be able to
Mom: How is that going...are you pregnant now?
Me: I don't know (trying not to blatantly lie)
Mom: What do you mean you don't know?
Me: I just don't know, there are points in your cycle where you just don't know yet
Mom: When was your last period?
Me: I don't know
Mom: What do you mean you don't know...was it like 4-5 weeks ago?
Me: Mom...when it happens I'll tell you

She has not pressed me that hard since the first few cycles after I m/c'ed. I think her momdar is going off or something. I am just hoping that I can hide it from her...I think she has magic powders I have underestimated all these years.

I had the most painful boob incident today. I was in my office talking to DH and all of a sudden it felt like tiny hot slivers of glass were in my bra. It hurt like holy heck but only lasted for like 60 seconds. I love all my random signs.

I envy you all your food cravings -- I just choked down 3/4 of a "nutrition drink". I just was not interested in food today. I tried to eat at lunch and dinner (forgot about breakfast and drank some milk at work), but everything just tastes bad to me. Even pizza & french fries!

I am still taking my prenatal vitamins and the nutrition drink supposedly has a lot of protein, calcium, vitamins, etc., so I hope it will be sufficient. Maybe I will be hungry again tomorrow.

ETA: How insane is it that I am seriously considering POAS tomorrow morning? I have 4 DT tests left, and it's been a week since we got the first BFP... I just want to see if it's darker. :o

POAS. well with Ryan I did until I went to the Dr at 9 weeks, how sad is that. I probably wasted like $100 on PG tests.

so the question is.... how to you get around not drinking when your heading to a b-day party and you don't want them to know yet? And when your with these people you always have at least a glass of wine?

Welcome to Sandradee and mkvh! :D

Shelby, I hope your m/s gets better.

Itested again this morning. DH just got back from a work trip last night and wasn't here when I found out, so I took a test this morning so that he could be here for it and also to see if it was darker, and it was. :)

test pic--today's is on top--the other 3 are from Tues. evening (http://img5.ranchoweb.com/images/padme_amidala/dcp_3469.jpg)

this is the pic I took after testing on Tues. (http://img5.ranchoweb.com/images/padme_amidala/dcp_3468.jpg)

I've had a craving for boiled eggs the past couple days, so DH made me some this morning and had to stand and watch me eat one--I'm a notorious egg-hater. :p

He stayed home from work today, which he'd already planned. he needs to grade a ton of tests that have to be turned in by Monday, plus he's going to go add me to his insurance. I hope they don't give us a hassle about it.

Klav, I don't know. I rarely drink, so nobody would think anything if I didn't.

11-04-2005, 07:19 AM
klav this is my problem I drink wine too. If it were mixed drinks I could get away with ordering a 7 up. Anyway I either avioded going out or seriously just carried a glass of wine around all night and not drink it. DH would take sips. If you cant do that tell people you are on anti biotics or cold medicine. Any woman trying to get PG will know whats up but most likely no one will say anything.
:-)

Thanks kellyann1972 I'll try the antiboanti biotics thing. hopefully know one will put it together.... I might be lucky and no one will be drinking!! or just have onein front of me.... and pour some out every once and a while?

Yay MKVH!!! I'm so glad to see you here!!!

I don't really drink either... actually I am notorious among my friends for being the one that doesn't drink. :) When I DO have one, they freak out. So luckily I don't have to worry in that regard.

Well.... morning sickness hit me like a ton of bricks today. Yesterday I was feeling kinda queasy all day, and when I woke up this morning I instantly felt like I had to throw up. I held off and forced myself to eat some breakfast, but it didn't really help. Came into work, and go figure, it's Payday Pancake Friday so they're cooking up pancakes, sausage, eggs, bacon, etc. I nearly hurled when I walked in the door. :( So I get to my desk, and there's a coupon from my boss for a free pancake breakast... LOL.

I've been downing water since I got here and feel MUCH better. It seems like it's better when I have a full stomach.

LizardAWWW I hope you feel better. my Dr said it's good to keep something in your stomach , That's if you can keep it down? I have yet to experience anything so I'm waiting for it to hit at sometime!

MKVH welcome!!

Thanks for the welcome.
KLAV I agree with the antibiotic idea. There are definately some that you cannot drink alcohol with.

Lizard I hope you feel better soon.

I have no idea how I am going to be able to keep this a secret for two more months. My mother and friends are forever asking me if I am PG yet and I don't want to flat out lie so I am not sure how I am going to respond. Do you have any ideas?

I also can't believe what an emotional rollercoaster this is. One minute I am thrilled and sure it going to be fine and the next I feel a little cramp and am convinced I am m/cing. I am not sure how I am going to get through the next few months w/o driving DH crazy with my mood swings.

Thanks for the welcome, klav, Lizard, sophia, kelly, and Wrighty!!! I hope I didn't miss anyone.

lizard--sorry you're feeling bad.

klav--As for the drinking, I'm in bad shape with that too. We're going camping this weekend, and friends of ours may come too. They'll know as soon as I don't crack a beer...especially since they're the only ones who knew we were trying. And there's no hiding it next weekend when I'll be back in PA with my girls. They will find it EXTREMELY odd if I don't have a drink with dinner. I'm gonna have to be a great liar....

Mystikal Tee Hee *blushing* That reminds me of that stuff to de-fuzz your hoo ha. I don't know if you remember that thread.

Welcome to the hormones club Sandradee, mkvh, roberta, and lindybug!! All those new mommies deserves a smilie http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/yay.gif (http://www.millan.net) This thread is growing by leaps and bounds!

klav I am not a drinker either so me not doing so will not be an issue. When I worked in the business field you were supposed to drink with clients but not get wasted. They told us to order Sprite or 7up in a rocks glass and put a lime in it. If you are a beer or wine drinker that is more difficult to do. You can also order one and then bring it in the bathroom with you and dump some out each time. I guess it all depends on the context in which you are drinking.

Lizard I think we are on the same track. I get nauseous mostly when I go to bed and wake up. Last night I seriously thought I was going to lose it. I am actually incredibly surprised I didn't. I know in a couple of days we actually will. I put a plastic bag in my car just in case (I commute 1 hour each way). I've heard horror stories of preggos getting sick in their car while driving.

Sandradee I've had to flat out lie to my parents. My mom, who lives 800 miles away, already seems suspicious and I know she is going to be hurt that I didn't tell her right away. We just have to do what is right for us. I refuse to go through what I did when I m/c'ed last time. We are the only one's TTCing of our close group of friends so they are oblivious though they know we are trying. And DH's parents/family don't know we are trying either. It is just my parents I've had to flat out lie to. In my experience being vague is a big tip off.

Anyone else had someone be not-so-happy for them yet?

I had lunch with an old friend today and was a little disappointed in the reaction... Not that everyone should throw me a big party, but a sincere smile would be nice.

I'm tring not to let it get to me too much, but also wondering why someone would react like that. She is very recently married, so I don't think she's been TTC yet.

Anyway, I am feeling much better today and actually ate some chicken at lunch. I'll see if I can stomach some veggies for dinner, and then maybe I won't feel so guilty about the days I didn't eat well.

Glad to see this thread growing!

ETA: I was feeling "down" after lunch and POAS to reassure myself -- 2 dark lines, right away. :)

Mkvh and Lindybug I'm happy to see you ladies here, I knew your charts looked seriously pregnant! :D
Soulmate you made me choke on my water. How could anyone forget *that* thread?? :p

So, I've had horrible bloating and (TMI) gas lateley. My stomach is so enlarged and hard I look like I'm six months pregnant instead of six weeks. Anyone know of a safe way to get rid of it?

I'm heading to the gym in a bit and then to my cousin's to see her and her daughter who is almost ten months. Sooo cute.

mkvh: great to run into you here and not on the 2ww thread! WOOOOHOOO!

Roberta: The Zen totally worked!!

Klav: I thought it was just me with the too tight pants; I'm going to blame bloating and not all the of the Halloween candy I scarfed down this week.

Shelby: your comment about the not-so-happy friend reminds me of the Sex in the City episode where they talk about their "frenemies." Kind of like friends but all they want to do is compete with you.

kellyann: how cute are those pics?

Lizard: boooooo for m/s! But at the very least, it's a good pregnancy sign, right? Does that make you feel better at all?!

I'm feeling pretty good today. BB's are still sore and I was exhausted last night but other than that, everyday brings me more and more excitement and less and less nervousness. Maybe I'm being overly optimistic but I like the feeling! Finally called my ob and have what I assume will be a meet and great type of appointment scheduled for Nov 9th.

Weird question for you guys.... does anyone know the reasoning behind not being able to eat hot dogs or sausage during pregnancy? I was surprised to see this on a list of don't-eats in a book I bought. I'm a German from Wisconsin and love my brats, and will probably ignore this suggestion. :D

roberta
11-04-2005, 05:59 PM
Oh, I forgot to add I have my first appointment on 11/16.
LizardNo hot dogs and brats goes with no lunchmeat and unpastuerized cheese- they could all be contamined with Listeria. Even processed foods have the risk of becoming contaminated after processing but before packaging. I am currently taking a microbiology class and just wrote a paper on Listeria last week. (Wonder why I chose that bacterium?;) ) If you want to eat brats, hot dogs or lunch meat just make sure they are throughly heated (to the point they are steaming)

This is not so much of an issue for me because lately I cannot stand the smell or taste of lunchmeat or bananas.

What website(s) are you finding to be the most helpful and informational?

Oh my-- I missed so much today!

Congrats and welcome to all our newbies (I've already managed to lose track!)...

I managed to make it through my first work happy hour! I ordered a water... and nobody asked why I wasn't drinking. I suspect 1 or 2 might people think something is up (especially my PG friend who knew we were trying), but they didn't say anything.

I'm feeling SOOOO bloated and a little queasy right now-- which I welcome! Who thought I would ever write that??

I'm sad and a little jealous that my Dr. appt is so much later than all of yours! (I know it's not that much later, I'm just being silly!)...

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

roberta I asked My Dr about eating lunch meat and she said there was no issue with eating it?? Hummm  I know about the cheese. only eat fish about once a week, no raw fish, cut back on caffine, no drinking or smoking, what else is there....

anyone to add to the list?
2nd Dr. apt. Dec7th

i WAS JUST A A GIRLFRIEND HOUSE FOR DINNER AND SHE OFFERED ME A glass of wine..... I declined then at dinner when we were eating she looks at me and whispers are you PG?
I smiled and said not to say anything..... she was like I thought so sence you declined the wine twice !!! SO she and her hubby now know but DH does not know they know. So we'll keep it like that for a while....
now for tomorrow think I'm going with the anti-biotics.... for what I'm not sure a rash?, a femine thing?, what??? any suggestions ??

Everyone and a while I get a little bit of a crampy feeling in my stomach hope it's the U streaching...... Hoping well off to bed ladies have a good one!!:p

Another big welcome to Fitzy!!

Hot Dogs/Sausage I do not buy too much into the Listeria issue with lunchmeats and such (but I have cut down significantly just in case). The main thing with hot dogs and sausage is the nitrates. Nitrates are pretty toxic to non-preggo women and not good for the baby (same with lunchmeat too). I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but my obgyn called the whole luchmeat debate "Listeria Hysteria".

Cat Box I cleaned out the cat box a couple times since pregnant only because DH wasn't in the routine yet and it needed to be done. If you are concerned you can wear gloves and wash your hands really well afterwards.

Gas/Bloating Oh yea! The gas has gotten less but the bloating sucks. I already had an issue with bloating and could make myself look 4 months pregnant as a non-preggo. Now I look 4 months without even trying. It makes me uber self-conscious at work.

Threadgoddess, can you change my obgyn/us appointment to 11/18 Thanks! My dr's office called today to reschedule because I guess most people were taking off that week due to the holiday. They originally told me 11/28!! I would be almost 9 weeks and totally not cool for a repeat miscarrier. I asked if they could do it sooner and got it moved from 11/23 to 11/18. I am sooo stoked. The sooner I get that u/s the happier I'll be.

MaKayla's Mommy If you cannot keep those things down I would seriously call your dr. or go to the ER and ask for Zofran. I would actually get checked out because you might need an IV.

Mystikal
11-05-2005, 10:05 AM
MaKayla's Mommy def. call your doctor's office and see about zofran. Especially since you already have a little one to take care of. The last thing you want is to end up dehydrated and on an IV. Good luck!
Soulmate yippee for earlier u/s. I thought that was weird that they were making you wait so long. I'm so happy for you!!

Wow!!! This thread is so moving so fast, and I am doing so bad at keeping up! Oddly, though, DH is genuinely interested in how many mommies are in this thread with me. :)

I am beginning to wonder if I am really preggo, and will probably want to take another test! :) No weight gain, the gas sometimes sucks (and I am *slightly* constipated at night time), no bloating, no boob growth or soreness, and no m/s. I am probably jinxing myself by saying all this... I am 4wks 3days along, so it could hit any day! LOL

Hrmm... So, I was going by Fertility Friend's estimate of my due date, which was July 11. Then I tried the due date predictor on the First Response website, and it says June 30??? That seems like a pretty big difference.

The first day of my LMP was October 1, 2005. I am pretty darn sure that I O'd on October 18, 2005. How do I determine which due date is more accurate?

ETA: I checked the calendar, and July 11 is exactly 38 weeks from my O date. That would make it right, yes?

Soulmate
11-05-2005, 12:41 PM
ShelbyMay Here is a good due date calculator (http://www.amazingpregnancy.com/timeline/index.phtml)that allows you to enter your conception date (O date). The most accurate date is based on your O date not your LMP since most women O later than CD14. This one gives you a due date of 7/11 and I would say that is most accurate.

nuhmah My boobs don't really hurt or haven't grown at all either. The real nausea didn't kick in for me until exactly 5 weeks. I still haven't thrown up yet but some times it sure feels like I will. Trust me...things will start happening soon :D

MMK
11-05-2005, 12:44 PM
Shelby: I would definitely go with the July 11th date. Our numbers are pretty close and the zillion websites I've checked for the due date always say July 9th (one day before my b-day!). June 30 is a big difference!

nuhmah: I took another test the other day just because I had one last one lying around the house...I felt silly but it sure was nice to see the VERY dark line.

soulmate: so happy to hear you had your appointment bumped up...it's bs they would make you wait that long to begin with but at least it's fixed now!

Soulmate - Yay for an earlier appt!

MaKayla's Mommy - I hope you called the Dr or went to the hospital or something! Sorry that you are already having such rough m/s!

nuhmah - My symptoms are subtle, but do seem to be increasing every day. I keep waiting for the m/s--- which I've heard sometimes doesn't hit until 6-7 weeks (if at all).

ShelbyMay - I've been going by my O date, too. Although, if you went by my LMP I'd only be due 2 days laters (on July 10th). I think it's definitely more accurate if you go by your O date (especially in your case, since you O'd later than day 14).

MMK and Mystikal - That's funny about your birthdays! My hubby and I were really hoping to have a summer baby because both of our birthday are in late June (his the 22nd and mine is the 26th!) -- and we really enjoy celebrating in the summer. Though, honestly, we would have been happy to have a baby any month!

Ya'll, my acne has been OUT OF CONTROL... I was expecting this, to an extent, but it's SOOO bad. (I have the lovely backne too!)... Any advice on this? My skin is very resistant to topical acne meds as it is. I'm hoping it WILL go away in later trimesters! I take this as a sign that my hormones are raging though, so not a terribly bad thing!

Funny story - My poor husband! I went to bed last night @ 9:30- while my husband stayed up later (like any sane person) to watch the Magic lose miserably. Apparently, I got up to pee @ 11:30 (how sad that I don't remember this?) and subsequently locked my husband out of our bedroom (out of habit). He tried to knock on the door, but I was out like a light. Around 3am he tried knocking again- and I heard him this time, but he spent about 2-3 hours sleeping on couch! He, thankfully, had a good sense of humor about it, but I felt SO bad :( Doh!

Ya'll, my acne has been OUT OF CONTROL

I can empathize with this, except mine has been getting progressively worse ever since I went off BCP over a year ago. I am pretty sure that I read that OTC products with salicylic acid are okay -- Can anyone verify that? I'm using some Clean & Clear face wash and Noxema Triple Clean pads to try to dry everything up.

Anyone else have strong cramps after orgasm? This happened to me last night, and it really kind of freaked me out. I tried not to let on because I knew it would ruin the "mood" for DH, but damn did it hurt! :(

Wrighty our anniversary is June 22! =) We will have a busy couple weeks in the summertime. :) My acne has been raging, too. Especially on my back. I had three big ones pop up in ONE DAY. ICK!
Shelby I haven't had that problem, but I do get really bad cramps on occasion when I have to pee badly.

Guys, I feel like such an old lady. Here it is, 7:30 and I am so ready for bed. My little sis is staying with us, though, so I can't go to bed yet. She's playing video games with DH right now, and usually I'm the fun one, but this time I'm so exhausted I can't bring myself to do anything but sit and try not to fall asleep.

Wow this thread is moving fast. I missed one day and I had to go back 3 pages. I am going to try get all the SOs but I am sure I will miss someone.

Welcome Lindybug, Fitzy, Roberta and Lolavix!

Soulmate That's great that you got an earlier appt. I think I will feel much better after I see the heartbeat. Thanks for your story. I ended up telling my mom last night despite my better judgement. I could not bring myself to lie to herand you were right being vage did not work. She did swear that she would not even tell my dad. I hope she can do it. I don't think I will have as big of an issue lying to my friends.

Klav I read that if you have had cats for long, you most likely have already been exposed and are immune to the illness but just to be safe I agree with limiting your contact and washing your hands afterwards. How did your party go? Did the antibiotics line work?

Kellyann1972 Your son is so adorable. I can't wait until we can all post pictures of our kids.

ShelbyMay I am sorry your friend was not exited for you. I have a friend who I think will act similarly. I am due 6 weeks before her wedding and knowing her I am sure she is going to be disappointed that I won't be able to party down at her bachelorette party and wedding. I would also go by your ovulation date. I Oed on Oct 20 and am due July 13th so the 11th seems right.

Mystikal I feel you on the bloating. Please let me know if you find a solution.

Wright26 My acne has been terrible since I went off BC. I was hoping it would get better when I got PG. I guess not.

Makayla's Mommy I am sorry with the M/S. I hope you are feeling better.

Nuhmah I have been feeling physically pretty normal as well other than bloating and I had to POAS last night to make myself feel better.

Sorry if I missed anyone

As for me I feel pretty good physically but emotionally I have been a wreck. I hope it is just the pregnancy hormones. My poor DH doesn't know how to react b/c he is used to me being very emotionally stable. Last night DH was teasing me b/c I was more irritated than nl and suddenly broke into tears. I never do that. I think it was mostly b/c I knew how ridiculous I was being but just could not help it. Then I made him drive to 2 different drugstores so that I could buy more pregnancy tests so that I could reassure myself. Anyone else having similar issues and how do you control it?

I have done several additional POAS since my BFP on Friday- they have all been BFNs. Still no sign of AF and I have all the same PG symptoms I had before. I am calling the doctor on Monday to ask if I can get a blood test. I just don't want to wait to find out if I am PG until my appointment on 11/16.

I'll be back with updates. ****sticky vibes to everyone else****

Wrighty Too funny about locking DH out. What happens to our brains when pregnant is truly remarkable. I have never felt so scatterbrained. From ShelbyMayI am pretty sure that I read that OTC products with salicylic acid are okay -- Salicylic acid is a Category C which means that they demonstrated birth defects in animals but it has not been tested in humans. When they tested in animals they found that birth defects were evident when given 4/5x the human dose. No birth defects were found when given 2x the human dose (and this is on rats). I would say to not use salicylic acid if your problem is not severe. Acne can cause blood infections and get pretty bad so if it is really needed I'm sure everything will be fine. I am not breaking out yet and switched out my face wash for non-salicylic stuff just in case. The stuff I was using was amazing though. It was Oil of Olay "Clairity". I was seriously glowing when I used it and it wasn't too drying.

ShelbyMay I really truly wish I could answer your orgasm question :( I am on progesterone supp and they are super messy and I'm afraid to DTD. Plus my cousin-in-law is living with us in a small townhouse. It is just a miracle I conceived

Welcome Lolavix!! It is so nice to have all of these 2nd time mommies with us!

Sandradee I bet it feels much better having told your mom. A part of me really wishes I could tell my mom in person when she was here Friday. I'm sure your mom will keep it secret. How did she react?

roberta I'm so sorry for your confusion :( How frustrating. I hope you get some definite answers this week.

I have a cold. Though it sucks because I have a hard enough time functioning at work as it is, I am very happy. It means that my immune system is where it needs to be and not trying to kill my baby (my cause for m/c). I did a bunch of research on what to take and normally Sudafed is ok. But I looked on SafeFetus (http://www.safefetus.com/Search.asp) and it is Category C. This is the jist of Category C drugs Either studies in animals have revealed adverse effects on the fetus (teratogenic or embryocidal or other) and there are no controlled studies in women, or studies in women and animals are not available. Drugs should be given only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus.I'm sure it is perfectly ok but I think I'll just tough it out with some tea.

I also had a huge "WTF did I get myself into" moment last night. I just feel like crap all the time and I was reading the thread about the poster having intense rib pain at 30some weeks and it will not go away until delivery. 2 friggin months of constant "wanting to cry out in pain" pain! Maybe the 2nd time mommies can help :D

nuhmah--am I GLAD to hear someone else doesn't have any symptoms really. Tired, yes...irritable, yes....mild bb soreness, yes...mild cramping, yes. But that's IT.

Wrighty & ShelbyMay--sorry about the acne. That SUCKS.

Roberta--sorry about your confusion {{{HUGS}}}...hope you get some answers soon.

klav--luckly for you getting to tell SOMEONE...no one IRL knows yet! And I"m DYING to tell someone. Anyone!

Soulmate--I feel ya on the "WTF" moment. D and I were camping this weekend, and he's sitting there with a big ol' cup full of some Oktoberfest beer (my fav), and I'm drinking water...and I'm thinking, whoa...my life just totally changed! Not to mention all the "fun" stuff we get to experience in the next 9 months..

lovalix--WELCOME!!!!

Sandradee--I hear ya on the emotional thing. I almost cried Friday over a SILLY disagreement with D, and last night we were playing cards, and I got so MAD that I threw my hand at him. What am I, five years old???

Mystikal--I wanted to go to bed at 7:30 last night, too!

I POAS today NOT with FMU...it was lighter than Fridays, but with not-FMU and only being 48 hours later, I'm not surprised (though I did have a moment of panic). I will POAS with the digi tomorrow, and then I SWEAR I am done.

WHAT?? No hotdogs???? Uh oh, I had one last night. I think I'm probably still in the clear, though...no blood transfer till about 18 DPO, right?

For the rest of ya'll (other than those who already are experiencing m/s--sorry ladies!)...does it seem real?
