Hi all-
My challenge for myself this year is to *make* all Christmas gifts. Anyone want to join in? Even if not, I'm hoping to start a collection of creative but rather simple gift ideas that you can make. Here are my contributions/ some ideas so far:

Stationery:
Buy good quality blank stationery.
Buy nice printed paper- wrapping paper works great!
Use a computer and colored printer to design a heading for the sheets/cards.
Make a template out of thin cardboard to serve as a guide in cutting the printed paper as envelope liners.
Glue the liners in.
Find a pretty folder or box to put it in.

Recipe Collection:
Use a binder and sheet protectors to start a recipe collection for someone; add some of your favorite recipes to get it started.

Hot Water Bottle Snugglie:
Buy a hot water bottle and find/buy some really soft, plushy fabric (minkee or fleece?). Make a cover for the hot water bottle. I've also seen folks use fleecy white or pink material and make a more complicated snugglie that looks like a lamb or a pig, complete with googlie eyes and tail and legs.

You probably want to join a thread that's already going. I beleive it's called "holiday gifts you plan on making" or something like that. Nto sure where it's located, but possibly in the December area of the Holiday and Gift Forum. Lots of great ideas in there....

alas! I looked carefully through the "all occasion gift ideas" threads but not through the december threads. :o I am hanging my head in shame. :(

Holiday Gifts You Plan On Making (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=1612)

It's in the Nov-Dec section, and I think there's another DIY Christmas Gifts thread somewhere else too.

My whole family is making our holiday gifts this year!
