As promised ;) I am back asking for advice on a few hotels I found that should be where I want to stay. I am looking for someplace in the general area of Coors Field, not to far from the airport, and close enough to other attractions as well.
I don't like to stay in fancy places that charge hundreds of dollars. All I need is a clean place that is in a relatively safe area. I don't want to be freaked out in the hotel I stay in, just comfy and safe.
I have found these hotels that are in my price range. Please offer any advice, as well as other places I may have missed that you think are good for me. Thanks girls!!!!
OK here goes:
Guest House Denver Stapleton
3737 Quebec St
Denver, CO 80207
Courtyard by Marriott Denver West- Golden
14700 W 6th Ave
Golden, CO 80401
Courtyard by Marriott Denver Tech Center
6565 S Boston St
Englewood, CO 80111
Courtyard by Marriott Denver Stapleton
7415 E 41st Ave
Denver, CO 80216
Ramada Continental Hotel Denver
2601 Zuni St
Denver, CO 80211
Thanks so much for any help you will be able to give. It is very much appreciated!!!!!!
Karen
I just realized that the title is very misleading. It seems as if I am giving advice rather than asking for it. Darn! Wish I could change it. Sorry about that!

OK, I'm back too! ;)
Just FYI - the airport is about 45 minutes from downtown (Coors Field is downtown). So, you are probably better off concentrating on finding something closer to downtown. I would rule out Golden because that would be another 20 minutes from downtown in the opposite direction of the airport. The Tech Ctr is really far south. Stapleton is nice and is closer to both the airport and downtown, but is far enough that it isn't super convenient to either! That area might be a good compromise, although you would have to drive or take a cab/bus anywhere you wanted to go (no attractions within walking distance).
Of the hotels you posted, the Ramada on Zuni is the closest to Coors Field. It is just west of downtown, and pretty close to the baseball stadium. I don't know a lot about that exact location in terms of safety (it's near the Six Flags but that's about all I know!), but I might be able to swing by next week - I have to go to location near there anyway. I would guess it's fine but that area west of downtown is in the process of gentrification and there are some sketchy pockets.
I don't know what your exact budget is, but maybe you could try a B&B - some of those rooms start around $85 and you would be close to downtown and get breakfast to boot!
These would be in really good, convenient locations (5-10 minutes east of downtown):
Adagio B&B (http://www.adagiobb.com/home.php)
Capitol Hill Mansion B&B (http://www.capitolhillmansion.com/)
Another option would be Kayak.co (http://www.kayak.com)m or Priceline - you are planning this so far in advance that you could probably get a really good rate for a hotel right in downtown (the zip code downtown is 80202, so anything in that zip would be convenient for you). Cherry Creek is another good area - it's the nicest neighborhood in Denver, convenient to downtown (both taxi and bus) and very safe.
Hope that helps! If I get over near 26th & Zuni next week I'll let you know!

Thanks so much, emmjay! Your help is invaluable!
I crossed out Golden being that it is in the opposite direction. We're not B&B types of people, so a hotel is more for us. As for driving to places, we don't mind that at all. We love to drive around and see things. I always hated staying so close to where I am going to be that I wasn't inclined to explore more. KWIM? Usually we try to stay about 30 minutes from our main attraction and then go from there.
When you said Stapleton is OK, which one did you mean? The Courtyard by Marriott or The Guest House? Or does that mean either one?
I am going to go back and see what I can find Downtown. Also I will check out Cherry Creek. Thanks again for all your help!!

PS- Have you started working on that coffee table book yet? I loved looking at your pics on WC!

Definitely go to tripadvisor.com. I love their hotel reviews!

I meant either hotel in Stapleton would be OK - Courtyard by Marriott is usually nice, but I don't know anything specifically about the Guest House. If you don't mind driving, that area might be perfect.
I'm working on the coffee table book! :) I actually started and then realized that a couple of rolls of film from the beginning of the trip are at my IL's house, so I have to wait until we visit them in December. I have new pictures in my journal here if you want to take a look.
Let me know if you have any other questions about Denver - I've only been here about 18 months, but I'll do my best to help!

Tripadvisor.com - I forgot all about that. I will check it out. Thanks, DiscoDiva!
Thanks again, emmjay! Looks like the Courtyard in Stapleton is where we might stay. I still have things I want to check out. And with the above advice, I want to checkout tripadvisor as well. You know, its funny to say we may stay in Stapleton and that it is a good area. We have a Stapleton here and if you were to ask me if it was a good place to stay I would give you a big fat NO!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, the coffee table book is going to be awesome. Bet you can't wait to get the rest of the pics. I will check out your journal for new pics later.
