View Full Version : wedding picture for christmas cards?

We just send out our thank you notes this past week and it had a nice wedding picture of us on the front in photo corners, so it could be taken out and framed or put in an album.
My question is...would sending out an x-mas card with a different, more informal wedding picture be overkill? Should I have one made into a fridge picture instead? (you know, with the holiday theme border and wording right on the picture and the space to write a note). Or should we take a picture of us in scarves and hats (wintery) that's more x-mas appropriate? *Or* should we just forgo the picture entirely, because people are sick of seeing our mugs right after the wedding and we just send out regular cards?!?!

I think that since you have already sent a wedding pic, that you should skip it for the holiday card. As for a wintery pic of the two of you----I have to be honest, I really dislike holiday cards of couples. I like holiday cards of children---maybe pets, but that is my limit. Just my honest opinion. I wouldn't want a winter-like pic of a couple for a holiday card. It would seem a bit much to me.

Just my opinion, but unless your wedding is in december, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to put a wedding picture on a christmas card.

I would just send out regular christmas cards. We did photo thank-you cards too (our photo was printed on the actual card in sepia tone) but we're going to send out just regular plain old christmas cards.

I did holiday cards with a wedding photo on them, but my thank-you notes were plain.

I think I would skip the wedding picture for the Christmas cards. If you like to send pictures on the Christmas cards, I would suggest a "wintery" picture like you mentioned.

I'd say it depends on who you're sending your holiday cards to. If it's family/friends you live in the same town as that see you all the time, don't send the pictures. But if it's people that you don't see, then do it. My family has a tradition of hanging all of our cards and pictures that we get. So, I think it'd be fun to have a picture, but I'm a picture person. In the end, who's REALLY going to say, "STOP SENDING US PICTURES OF YOURSELVES", unless you just have really blunt relatives!:p

We're going to send Christmas cards with our photo on it and say:
"From wedding bells to jingle bells."
However, our Thank You cards just have our initials on them.

i probably would skip the wedding photo christmas card - might be a little overkill on the pics!
how about a honeymoon pic if you really want to do a photo christmas card?

I like the honeymoon pic idea. Also, do you have good pictures of the guests? For our Christmas cards, we're sending out prints of friends/family dancing at the reception. It's more work than just choosing one picture to send to everyone, but we think people will like it more.
