Does anyone have suggestions for drugstore-type brand makeup? In other words, inexpensive brands that you can get at Target.
I'll throw my 2 cents in and recommend Maybelline Great Lash mascara, with the curved brush.

I'm fond of Max Factor products. I wear their 2000 Calorie mascara and their Colour Adapt Foundation. It's nice and smooth and helps even out skin tone without feeling thick or greasy.

I use all Lancome these days EXCEPT for mascara--which is Almay. I've been using drugstore mascara most of my life and the few times I've tried various "better" brands, I didn't see any difference--except in price, of course

A majority of my makeup is drugstore brand.
I would say I mostly use Maybelline, but I also use Cover girl & Revlon.

The new Revlon colorstay eyeshadow is great! The colors are pretty, but not too dramatic, and they usually go on sale for 50% off. Their blush is also good.
Maybelline eye and lipliners are pretty good- they stay on fairly well, and the colors are nice.
My mom swears by the Great Lash mascara, but I don't care for it. I actually have a really hard time finding any mascara that doesn't flake off, and my eyes are pretty sensitive, so I just end up going without it. I'd love any suggestions if anyone has the same problem!
For lipstick and gloss, I really like Neutrogena Moistureshine gloss. It's not sticky, and the colors are pretty and natural. I also like L'Oreal Colour Riche on the rare occasions I wear lipstick. There's a wide range of colors, and the lipstick is pretty moisturizing. I usually do a coat or two, then blot, so the color isn't too bright or dark.
HTH!

I swear by Neutrogena Foundation because it's the only brand I've found (including the fancy department store brands) that makes a good color for fair skin with yellow undertones. Softest Gold, that's what I like.

I definitely mix drugstore with the higher-end stuff.
I dig Maybelline lipsticks, Rimmel eyeshadows, Wet n Wild lipliner, and Sonya Kashuk's line at Target, particularly her eye shadows.

I really like the new L'oreal Infallible foundation, and CoverGirl Fantastic Lash mascara. Revlon makes some nice eyeshadows, too.

I totally love my Loreal True Match foundation. It's probably the only "cheap" brand I've ever found that really looked good on my skin. And I also love Neutrogena's Moisture Shine Lip Glosses. I tend to buy whatever mascara is on sale.

I love Revlon eyeshadow, it seems to have more pigment than most drug store brands.

Thanks, I might check that out.

Revlon's ColorStay Eyeshadow was rated "Best Inexpensive Eyeshadow" by Instyle magazine this year. Every February they publish their favorites as voted on my the professionals. I've tried it & was impressed!

I like Rimmel stuff and I really love Ken Paves hair products that you can get at Walgreens. LalaLove em.

I currently use Clinque products, but am looking to spend less on makeup. Right now I'm in need of some pressed powder and concealer and am wondering what drugstore brand you ladies would recommend.
I'm also not sure how to figure out what shade I should get. I'm thinking of bringing in my almost empty Clinique compact and trying to match the color but I don't know how accurate that would be. I'm so bad with judging makeup color. I always need someone to tell me what looks good on me.
Thanks! :)

I love revlon's colorstay makeup. I did exactly what you did - bring my current shade and look at them in the package. They also have the transparent color-tester things that you can hold up and see what shades work.

L'ancome is made by the same company as Clinique and is basically the same product.
maplekitty ~ Good to know! I always wonder how different some drugstore brands are from the more expensive brands. I guess some not so much. I just don't want to pay more $$ for makeup if I don't have to. Espcially since I wear pretty minimal makeup.
Seb's Kitty ~ Thanks!

Actually, I think it's L'oreal and Lancome that are made by the same company.
Clinique is an Estee Lauder brand, who also owns Prescriptives, MAC, Bobbi Brown, and a whole bunch of others. They used to also own Jane, which is a great drugstore brand, but they sold it a year or two ago. I think the closest thing they have to a drugstore brand is American Beauty, which sells at places like Kohl's.
