View Full Version : One thing on your To-Do list that can't seem to get done....

On my To-Do list is "buy or make aisle runner", and I keep putting it off! I really want a *wide* aisle, since we're getting married outdoors and I'd like my big huge train to not get too soiled. I did do some searching and couldn't find a "wide aisle-runner" for less than 300 dollar!
So now I'm on the hunt for the perfect fabric and I'm going to make it myself. However, I keep putting it off and putting it off and I'm afraid it's not going to get done. It's like I'm afraid to take on this task, LOL
So I know I'm not the only one putting things off...go ahead and spill... ;)

Well, it's too late for my to do list, but one thing I kept saying was that if I left it right until the end, it obviously didn't matter much to me.
LMAO!
I'm such a goof. I was bound and determined to get my seating chart done WELL ahead of time. But what was I doing two days before the wedding? Yup, printing the chart. Sigh.
Good luck with your aisle runner. Your wedding will be gorgeous!

The one thing "I" can't seem to get done for our wedding is make an appointment to get "my" tux figured out. ;)
I said Monday night, "Well, if you don't have a tux to wear for our wedding, I'll be really disappointed." He will make the appointment; it's just not done yet. Not that I put too much blame on B ... he's just got way too much going on. But that he hasn't done it yet makes my stomach tighten a little bit.

I can't seem to get the guest list figured out. I have everyone I want (our friends, his immediate family, and all of my family), but I don't know anyone in his family besides the immediate family so I can't include them.
And a gift registry...apparently we can't do that until 3 months before our date (registries are much more common in the US than UK, who knew!!).

We can't seem to find time to practice our dance routine. We keep meaning to get around to it, but we never do.

I keep putting off "book wedding day transportation". I can't get it done. This is because I want something "special" without paying "special" prices, kwim?

Having a formal dance routine perfected was *once* on our list...but it seems to have been knocked waaaaay off :(
We have a little problem where I always try to lead and Curt gets mad at me, LOL.
I think we'll just end up sway dancing :p

B and I have been taking dance lessons for the past month, and we're continuing to do it. We started with Intro to Ballroom Dancing, which had 1 class for 4 different dances. Even just with that, I feel like we know enough to look pretty good for that first dance. We've decided to keep going with the lessons, though -- we're both having a lot of fun with it. July will be 3 weeks of Swing ... August & September will be Fox Trot. Our first dance is a Fox Trot, so I hope we're pretty confident at it by then. :)
It is so much fun... if you can get your guys to do it, I highly recommend it!

LOL, we took one of those salsa dance lessons offered at a latin dance club. Well I couldn't spin properly and Curt wasn't moving his hips enough, we ended up getting so frustrated at each other on the dance floor, we left before they even opened the club. *That* is how bad we are :o

Maplekitty - don't give up! Can't gauge your dancing abilities by one salsa lesson -- Salsa is a really hard dance to start with! Try something easy, like Fox Trot (no hip moving involved in the fox trot ;)). You'd be surprised how 'good' you are at an easier dance! You couldn't turn enough -- were you wearing gym type shoes? I did that the first week and then figured out that ya gotta wear leather soles to dance class! I'm wearing my bridal shoes to class so that a) I'm used to dancing in them and b) they're broken in before that day.

This is a great thread!
One thing that I just can't seem to get done is finding an officiant! We are not getting married in a church so I need to find an officiant and I am just putting it off like it doesn't matter!!!  I don't know what my problem is! I have been doing this throughout the wedding planning process though: first it was the dress, now it's the officiant and then it will be the cake! All I really care about is the flowers, the party and the honeymoon! I know I know.....procrastinating never gets you anywhere in life!

For the past two weeks I've put off calling my florist. I've only talked to her since my first initial meeting *eons* ago. She doesn't have an email adress (ugh!!) and it always slips my mind to call her when I get home from work. I hope she doesn't think we've dropped her and has re-booked that day...ack...ok, now I'm worrying myself!!!
Note to self: MUST CALL FLORIST TONIGHT!!!
