Charting Our Course to the BFPs
http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.
So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!
Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.
Your threadmistresses for this thread are Mystikal and Lizard!
To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread each month as well as after 3 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistress would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if I get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.
If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test! :cool:
Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb
* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.
* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.
* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.
* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.
* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.
* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.
* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.
* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.
* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.
* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.
* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!
* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!
* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations
This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!
•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation

•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases

Lizard
10-14-2005, 11:12 AM
You are first!!! :D
I forgot to mention in the other thread, I did confirm my O so I will be testing 10/24 through 10/30. Our timing wasn't the best... well, I guess it was good if you believe in Shettles and are trying for a girl. :) We shall see!
Edit: I was trying to figure out the reason for my delayed O, and then I remembered that I had been on call for work, and went nearly 24 hours without sleeping on Oct. 1st. That was CD 13 for me, so I betcha dollars to doughnuts that's what caused it. :( Stupid work!!!! It kinda ticks me off.
Posting in Orange for Halloween!! LOL:D
Lizard hope you made it !! that really stinks work messed up your cycle but it will be well worth it for a girl!! I'm bias because most all the kids in DH side are Boys, I wannna girl!!!LOL but will take what ever I get and be greatful when it happens (hopefully soon) almost a year to date of MC

Wow! I'm actually posting in the first couple of pages! :) Temps went back up this morning, I am looking to O sometime next week, probably. DH is totally on board with really trying this cycle.
How often should we BD? Every other day, or every day? Any thoughts on this?

Gator you are like the fourth person to comment on my chart. I think it looks like crap, but we shall see. 10dpo and no spotting yet, which I have had for the last two charts, plus, like you said, my temp went up. I'm going to pick up some equates at wal-mart tonight and we will see what happens. (I'm going to try and hold off on testing till Sunday or Monday. I have to work tomorrow so it shouldn't be too hard then...

Thanks for the new thread, love the title. ;)
AF is finally gone so I'm just waiting for the egg. I'll be on a business trip next week so I'm hoping O will wait until then. I plan to start OPK's on 10/21 when I get back and start BDing every other day. We've been BDing every day in previous cycles so I figured we'd try something new.
Question about temping: I'll be in a different time zone next week and it's a pretty important time to get accurate temps. Has anyone had to adjust their temps like this before? I'll have to take out TCOYF when I get home and see what the instructions are. I really don't want my chart to be ruined because of the time change. I'll be on Eastern time instead of Western time. Hopefully there is a formula or something. Or maybe I don't need to worry about it? I plan to still wake up at the same local time there that I would if I was at home so there would be a 3 hour difference.

WOW, I have been gone so long and you girls move so fast, you have gone through 2threads. I guess that means CONGRATS are in order to the TONS of BFP's this month. Wow, What amonth. Sorry I can't do anymore SO's.
Mystikal That looks like a great implant dip to me. Good luck testing.
Since I have been here we have had our 1yr TTC anniversary and am finishing cycle one on chlomid. I had a Progesterone lab of 17.6 Tuesday. That verified that I o'ed.:D I am thinking cd28 although FF keeps telling me cd26. I think that jump was just from the Provera I started taking to bring on AF. We were ready to move on to another chlomid cycle when I got tons of EWCM. Of course I jumped all over DH and I will be testing Sunday 10/16. Hope I can join the list of BFP's.
Have a great weekend.
MichelleRenee
10-14-2005, 02:41 PM
Hi everyone. Congrats to all the BFP's!!
My temp was still high this morning. I had a dr's appointment today to talk about everything and here's a recap:
I am fine to be TTC. The meds I am on are completely safe.
The drowsiness (all the time!) is a bit of a mystery. I am on a med that can cause insomnia and drowsiness, so she suggested I start taking it at night so I can stay awake during the day.
My thyroid is comletely normal. I just have a naturally low body temp and have nothing to worry about.
So I'm glad everything is OK in general, but I have been stressing myself about work and school too much and as a result I am sick. Technically I don't have a fever, but as you can see on my chart my temps for the last two days were very high. I will just leave the temps on my chart and keep going this month. Hopefully by tomorrow i will be feeling better. AF has been gone for two days now and TTC or not, and I am anxious to BD with my hubby.:D
Lizard
10-14-2005, 03:11 PM
MichelleRenee - Stupid question, but... have you taken a PG test, or did the doctor give you one? I know you just got over AF, but I noticed it was short and crazier things have happened. And, with all the BABY DUST CIDER that everyone seems to be drinking, who knows... LOL. :)
Mystikal - I think your chart looks great. Looks very stair-steppy to me with a possible implant dip. Crossing my fingers for you!!!
jnshanna - I can't remember if TCOYF talks about time zone changes or not. I'd assume that nothing would change... if you take your temp at 6 AM here and 6 AM there, it should be the same. I'd think any sleep changes due to the time zone difference would be the bigger thing to worry about. I swear, even if I change 1 time zone, my sleep is all out of whack. :)
As for me, we're heading out of town this weekend to visit DH's folks. His mom's been going through some health issues and just had her second back surgery in 3 months. She's also lost her job because she's been out of work on medical leave for so long. DH is getting worried about her... last week he dropped a bombshell on me, and asked what I'd think about moving up closer to them. That really surprised me, as we'd talked about that a couple years ago when we bought our house, and decided not to. Looks like we'll be revisiting that idea again. It's a good idea, I'm not against it, but it'd be a big change and a lot of work. We'll have to see what happens.
Have a great weekend ladies!! Hope to see more good news when I return!!

Hey ladies! Just checking in... thanks for the new thread!
Congrats jbenny!!!! H&H 9 months!
Ok for a brief second today I thought I may have O'd... this morning my temp was between creamy and EW.. my CP was high I could hardly reach it.. then later today I was dry and CP low and firm.... but now it's just kinda medium again. Also for the past few days I've been getting little twinges like I'm about to get AF.... went to the bathroom to check it out a few times and nothing! Grr! I wish I knew what was going on. Or at least that AF will just show up already so I can call it annov and start over.

Rolling in the fresh babydust!
I am having a strange CM pattern this cycle. Lots of EWCM (not seminal fluid) for just a day and it goes away. I think I am O'ing today, but we cannot BD because DH had his wisdom teeth out and he is still pretty doped up. Oh well, maybe he will be feeling better tomorrow.
Congrats on all the BFPs!

Temp stayed stable this am, and still no spotting. (Knock on wood.) I hope this is a good sign. I'll probably test tomorrow if my temp stays up. My dad's birthday is next week and I will be out of town so if I do get a BFP I'd love to tell my parents now instead of having to wait two weeks! :p

Pretty sure I O'd. I had a temp jump this morning from 97.1 to 97.7. I'll wait a couple more days to call it since I seem to be so good at prematurely calling an O and then missing it! :rolleyes:

Just checkin' in.
I don't know what is going on with my cycle this month. I have taken OPK's and haven't gotten any positives although I had my day of EWCM. I don't know if my urine was too watered down or that I really haven't Oed yet. For 10 months I have never not Oed. Also my temps are staying real low. I thought maybe my therm. was broke but I tried it during the day and it was different. So I don't know. We are just going to continue to BD every other day. I have an appointment scheduled for Dec. I hate this:mad:
jesseybell
10-15-2005, 09:22 AM
I am crossing my fingers that I actually Oed this month. 3 months off BCP and this is the first month that I THINK I did. I am still new to charting and we didn't BD on O day, so we'll just have to wait and see.It's just nice to see x-hairs on FF.
I bought a BBT thermometer the other day and it's temp is almost .3 higher than my digital so I am going to start using it for next cycle.

Sorry for anyone I missed!
No news here in the TTC world... however, we did buy a house today!! Well ok we settled on the price, we won't actually close until next month but I'm so excited! Maybe that's what was stressing me out so maybe now I'll O... hopefully....

Ok...so I am bored out of my mind and way back I mentioned that I've seen some really wacky charts that surprise the heck out of me? I think this one is the wackiest out there...
http://www2.fertilityfriend.com/ChartGalleryCache/chart37930.png
soulmate That is truly a weird chart!!
I posted this in another thread but thought I'd try here...
but last night and a bit this am I had some mild discomfort in my lower ab on the right side.
and I took another OPK and not much of a line compaired to yesterday . Yesterday there was a definate line but not darker or as dark as the control line. so today's was very faint and I think I'm O'ing today or tomorrow??? think more today so Bding tonight and tomorrow just incase!!
nuhmah
10-15-2005, 08:12 PM
Took my first OPK today, and it came out positive. Woohoo!
So, now what? When should I actually be ovulating, and how often should we BD now that I have a +OPK?
Sorry for the weird questions, but I just want to make sure my timing is correct.
Dotsie
10-15-2005, 08:46 PM
yay for + opk's. From what the box says, ovulation should occur 24-36 hours from a +. We have timed it for every other day. We started on Thursday, Saturday, and Monday and maybe Wednesday. If your DH has no known sperm issues than bd'ing every day should be no problem.

klav I hope you catch that eggie!
ETA: Considering we are tied for our most successful month...this month is totally going to break records. There is at least one other very promising chart out there ;)
ETA again: Back in the WC thread the record was 17 back in 8/04. Let's see if we can break that one! The next highest was 14 in 8/03.

Gardenia Your chart does look really good. A line is a line, no matter how light :D
Gator At least you're in the 2ww. I'm still trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my body. I think I will O tomorrow. If that's the case, our timing was very good this month. I had a + opk yesterday and today.
Good Luck to everyone. Keeping my fingers crossed for us all!!
nuhmah
10-16-2005, 07:02 PM
Now I know why people get so frustrated with these darn OPK's! I never understood the "is it really a line" thing until now. :rolleyes:
Yesterday I did an OPK, and the test line came out darker than the control line - but both were there, and I called it a +OPK. Today, I took another one, and the control line was almost invisible, and I could really see the test line. I took another one and the same thing happened.
What gives?!?! Klav - hope your OPK experience is getting better! :)
Gardenia - I hope its not too soon to offer you my congrats - I agree that your chart looks fabulous!
polkadot
10-16-2005, 07:17 PM
nuhmah- i agree w/ you on the OPK's being sooo confusing but i posted the ? on Ff and they said that is doesnt matter about the darkness but if they both look relatively the same its a +. I kept getting two lines but they were both the same color or no line at all....so i called the same color lines +. I hope that explanation isnt confusing....and i hope it works out for you....:D
CD 11..just got some EWCM...kinda confused...its way too early for me to O, but i may take an OPK tomorrow ...and i am gonna BD the night away...just incase!:D
Dotsie
10-16-2005, 07:31 PM
For those of you who are confused with the opk's try using clear blue easy digital. You get a happy face :) if you have an LH surge. It completely takes the guessing out. I love them.
I started getting ewcm about 4 days ago and I'm on cd13. I was really confused as well. Get your BD on polkadot ;)
My dh took our ds to the inlaws for the night. We already bd'd but I think we might again just for the heck of it. It can't hurt, right?!?
Wrighty26
10-16-2005, 07:32 PM
nuhmah - OPKs indicate the amount of LH in your system. When your LH surges your body is preparing to ovulate. It usually isn't until after the surge that you ovulate-- so it is not uncommon for you to get a positive OPK one day, a negative OPK the next, and then ovulate the day after that. Everyone's LH is different though-- it's not textbook, so if you do get a positive OPK-- regardless if you get a negative one the next day-- get busy!!!
Hope this clarifies things :)
flygirl
10-16-2005, 09:32 PM
Grrrr... I just lost my whole post :mad:
gist:
polka, compared to other charts, this isn't too early to get EWCM. You're CD11, & the other days you started were CD12 & CD13. Whatever you're doing to help your CM is working! Check ff's OPK Optimizer (under Analysis), which will give you a good idea when to start them.
nuhmah, your experience is totally normal, especially if you're using CBE. There's some gossip that CBE is using the same sticks for OPKs as for their monitor, which means the "control" line actually detects estrogen, and therefore because extremely faint *just* before O.
Good luck, Dotsie!
gator, you are officially not allowed to complain about the 2ww until you're in your second week. :p ;)
I really want to say Congratulations, gardinia!. But I won't...yet. I have to say, that's one of the most text-book charts I've seen. And besides, it's October; it's expected :D.

Soulmate - That is so weird about our charts!
We got back from our trip OK. I've been feeling sick/nauseous today, and almost stayed home from work because of it. I'm thinking it's because of being around my MIL who is a chain smoker. I always seem to get sick the day after I come home from their house.
I also had itchy bbs yesterday. Because of the combo of that and the nausea, DH is 100% convinced I'm pregnant. Seeing as it's only 6 DPO, I beg to differ, but who knows. :rolleyes:
Will update our list later, I'm hoping for good news from Gardenia first. :)

CONGRATULATIONS shouldaeloped, bunnybeth, jbenny, & mystikal!!! :D
I think that's everyone I missed while I went MIA. Last week was so busy at work, I just never had time to check in, and this weekend was hectic as well. My apologies for not being here to share in the excitement, and in everything else. I'll be better about visiting now!
So, 2 days after the HSG I woke up to lots of bleeding, again. :( I called the doc, 'cause this was more than just spotting, and she said not to worry, that we know I have a sensitive cervix and it was probably just due to the trauma that the HSG put my insides through. She said it should taper off after a few days. Three days later, it's still going on. :confused: I'm not sure if it's still because of the HSG or if it's just my body's normal constant bleeding. I'm going to see what happens in the next couple of days and if it's still going on by Wednesday (one week since the HSG), I'm going to call her again.
Still no Clomid - first DH has to do his SA. We're getting the paperwork for that today and will hopefully get that done in the next couple of days.
In the meantime, today is CD15 and even though I don't have a lot of hopes for Oing on my own, we're still going to BD every other day starting this past weekend and see if my body can do what it's supposed to do! So, fingers crossed and lots of positive thoughts!
Have a great Monday, ladies. :)

Quick Question: Once your temp goes up is it too late? Does that mean you Oed and BD will do no good?
Dotsie
10-17-2005, 10:07 AM
My temp went up today but I plan on bd'ing just in case. I think once your temp goes up it means you have already ovulated, therefore probably too late.
Charting is Knowledge
10-17-2005, 10:09 AM
*** Updated to here!! ***
jody: everything I've read says that the temp rise indicates that O already has happened. HOWEVER...the rule is to BD until you see THREE high temps to be sure. And you DO have one earlier temp that's as high as todays. So actually you could be seeing early effects of the ovulation-related hormones and actually are Oing today. And the real temp rise would be TOMORROW.... And your usual CL is above today's temp... Time only will tell!
Bottom line? If I were you, I'd BD tonight!
Wrighty26

Had lunch with my best friend today.... she's pregnant again. Well, she doesn't think she is, but she's gotten BFP's on 2 tests! The only reason she doesn't think she's pregnant is because she doesn't "feel" pregnant.
This is her 2nd and it only took her a month to conceive. I'm very happy for her, as she wanted 2 kids and will be able to leave work to be a SAHM. I'm just sad for myself, I guess. When we first started TTC, my friend and I talked about it and we both joked that I'd be pregnant WELL before she'd be trying for her 2nd.... that she couldn't even fathom having another kid anytime soon. So it's weird to be at this point where she's expecting another and we're still waiting on our 1st. Bleh.
Lizard--sorry for the bleh...I can understand why you feel the way you do. {{{HUGS!}}}
nuhmh---BD! BD!! BD!!!
jesseybell--patience is only a virtue for those NOT TTC!
Wrighty--didn't look at your chart, but it is *possible* to have EWCM after O (although not 3 days after)...curious to see what your temp does in the next couple of days.
OK...think I'm caught up...now for a question of sorts: I just got back from lunch where I took TWO kinds of OPKs. Both were obviously negative. Sooo...conundrum...I had the most RIDICULOUS amount of EWCM!!! Officially, I think my pee doesn't work on OPKs! Thoughts?

Quick question for you guys... just double checking my interp... on internal CM if it's slippery/a little stretchy just for a couple seconds and then goes away it's actually just normal internal moisture,and you're considered dry, right? ABirney If it evaporates quickly then it is normal moisture.
Gardenia You are still very early in your cycle. I know it is torture seeing the "maybes". Still crossing everything for you. BTW Equates are amazing...I would stick with those. I call them the "beta tests" because they pick up ridiculously low levels of HCG it is almost like getting a beta. Plus they are very reliable. To fuel your obsession I highly recommend peeonastick.com (http://www.peeonastick.com/hpts.html). They have pics of various BFPs for most of the most used brands (plus reviews).

I think for FF to give you a High for bd'ing you have to bd at least 3 times during your fertile time. I know this because I played around with my chart today...I was bored ;) Our wedding anniversary is on the 27th. We'll be married 4 years. I think I will test that morning because it's our anniversary. If I don't see a + I will just wait for AF. If she's late I will test again. I really don't expect to see anything though. I just have a negative feeling about this month. Isn't that horrible? It's getting harder and harder at work too. Just giving an update:
I am almost 100% not sick anymore. I lost my voice Saturday night and it is 1/2way back. My throat is a little tickly, but not sore. Clearly, my temps are back down to normal. Today is CD10 so I got over being sick quickly enough to keep us in the game this cycle. Following my EWCM from last cycle, and not having temps, the best I can do it say I should O between CD13 and CD22. I'm 99% sure if I do O it will be closer to CD22, but to be on the safe side we'll just have to BD from now until then.;) Oh well.
I am feeling positive and excited. I can't wait to have my first full chart w/ temps. This stuff is so interesting to me (and to DH). Congrats again to all the BFP's! Good luck to everyone else!

He wanted to BD last night but I told him that I'd make it worth his while if he could hold off till tomorrow morning, since he has to have abstained from sex for 3 days prior to the test (and our last BD was Sat. night). He was not happy about that, but I told him it'd be worth the wait! ;) I just want to get this part over with so I can get the Clomid from the doc, and I didn't want to have to wait another 3 days to do the SA. So, we bring in the sample in at 8 am and should have the results back by the end of the day! Then I'll hopefully be going over everything with the doc right away so we can move on to the next step! I'm at CD16, so I'll ask her if we should just wait a week or so to see if I O naturally this month (hey, a girl can hope!), and if no O by next week, maybe I can take more Provera, get AF, and start fresh. I guess I'll see what she says soon!
Lizard, hugs to you. I'm happy for your friend but understand how difficult it must be for you.
Gardenia, CONGRATS AND A H&H 9 MONTHS TO YOU! :D
Amy, I think it's a good idea to go off BCP a little early. My doc recommended going off it 3 months before we started TTC. But you CAN get pg right away, so definitely check out TCOYF and also pick up some condoms or something to use in the meantime!
Sabriel, I'm so sorry! I hope you and DH are doing okay. Hugs and a sad welcome back.
Hiker04, welcome!
Dotsie, it's hard to listen to some people chatter on about being pg. I have no problem with most of my pg friends, but there's another chat group I used to belong to online that I actually stopped posting in b/c of one pg chick. For over a year she went on and on about how she was "sure" she'd never be able to get pregnant b/c she was just "positive" she had PCOS and all these other imaginary things wrong with her (yet all the doctors she kept running to kept telling her she was just fine). She went off BCP for whatever reason, wasn't even trying, didn't use any kind of BC (since she just "knew" that she wouldn't be able to get pg naturally), and BAM got pregnant her first month off of it. Now she complains all the time about how she never thought she'd get pregnant, has no money to support a baby, her DH isn't into it, etc. :mad: And I just can't stand it so much that I dropped out of the group. Sigh. I wish it were easier for all of us.

Well, I think I am out this month... DH made plans a few days ago for us to have dinner at a friend's house last night - by the time I got there he was already drinking. :rolleyes: We were expecting to be eating around 6pm - we didn't eat until 7:30. By the time we got home we were sooo tired.
DH feels really bad - if he hadn't of been so tired/buzzed/whatever we could have BD'ed last night. My temps went down yesterday, and then back up today, so I have a feeling we missed our window of opportunity. :(
ETA: I forgot that I did have a drink last night with dinner - I read somewhere that that can affect your temps... do you think it had an affect on mine?
nuhmah(((HUGS))) BUT DON'T COUNT YOUR SELF OUT YET...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
GOT A CALL FROM THE NURSE....... I have to get DH to get his blood work done again and then call back on day 1 of my next cycle..... and schedule an apt. for the 3rd which is the day I'll already be therehope I can keill two birds with one stone there... so that is were I am at the moment!
nuhmah Have you bd'd at all in the last 3-4 days? If so than you do have a shot. I was feeling the same as you yesterday. I o'd on Sunday. We bd'd on late Thursday night and then again very early Sunday morning. I was so bummed, all I kept thinking was..."great, another month down the tubes". Stay positive. You just never know.
gymwidow Your DH wanting nookie reminds me of my DH at Christmas time. That boy cannot wait to open a present to save his life!
nuhmah Your chart looks similar to last chart when you Oed...its hard to say for sure just yet. I would BD tonight if you can. And ditto Dotsie's question.
Wow...what a run of BFPs we've had! Well I'm the next one in line to test and I'm not going anywhere near a HPT until the weekend if I test at all. So things'll be a lot less exciting in here for a little while anyway.
Congrats Gardenia :)
Nuhmah - I agree that if you got in any BDing in the past couple of days- you could be good-- and FF hasn't called O yet-- so get going :)
FF is still calling O-- even though my temp was below the coverline today. :confused: FF is such a tease! Oddly enough- I did have some random cramps today. They lasted for about 5 minutes and subsided. I thought stomach ache? gas? and it really wasn't any of those things-- so maybe AF is on her way (wouldn't be surprised-- if I did O last month I had about a 5-7 luteal phase)...
Soulmate-- you're going to make us wait till this weekend-- talk about tease :D Good luck to you-- your chart is looking good!
Me...still waiting adn waiting and waiting OH and yea waiting! lol. I did break down and test today to get a BFN of course, but its only 7DPO so DUH me! :rolleyes: but they were burning a hole in my cabinet I still have 1 more so I'm going to test possiably on Sunday...depends if were getting hit by a hurricane or not :eek:
Tonight I was at Tony's grandmothers house celebrating Tony' s Moms birthday and I said somethinga bout being tired and then MIL says "ARE YOU PREGNANT?!" in a very blunt surprise voice! I quickly said "NO!" and then Tony said "Mom, chill she's not pregant" :o I felt so bad for possiably lying but we both agreed we dont' want to tell anymore until it's confirmed by a dr. and were past the 12 week mark. UGH! It was a bit embarrassing since the WHOLE family was in that room and that veyr moment and everyone gave me this blank stare...note to self do not complain about pants getting small, being tired, not feeling well etc. for at least a couple months, lol
WHat is up with FF it still has not called my O yet???
WHat is up with FF it still has not called my O yet???
I think that FF is going to say that you O'd on Monday-- so it still needs one more temp to call it...
Well if it calls it monday I'm going to tend to disagree. considering I had that "cramping" on friday night and sat Am. that's when I think I O'd anyway.. this will be the first time I think FF is wrong... O-well on to the next step... thanks all for the help
5 DPO for me...just waitin'.
Last night I had my book club - one of the girls there was telling me all about her dream that I was in and how I was pregnant, etc. Such a bummer to have to say...nope, sorry, not pregnant, but thanks for dreaming about me! ;)
klav - I think FF is waiting on calling the O from Monday as well.
Gardenia - Congratulations!!! :D :D Let me know if you want me to graduate ya.
I am feeling so nauseous today... I've been feeling this way on and off since Sunday. Plus I have sore bbs, and I don't normally get that. I don't think I'm sick because my temp isn't more elevated than normal. Is it even possible to have "real" symptoms from 5-8 DPO? That is soo early and implantation normally hasn't happened yet, so I'm assuming these are FPS for my own sanity. :)
Dotsie
10-19-2005, 07:14 AM
FF called my O day. I'm now officially 3DPO. I o'd on Sunday. Like I said previously, it gave me a "good" chance for getting pg this cycle. Question...I bd'd early on Sunday morning, could that be too late to get pg if I o'd that day? I bd'd a couple of days before that as well. I looked up charts on FF with my situation and there were some that got pg. Just grasping at straws right now.
10-19-2005, 07:15 AM
Lizard! Sonds like symptoms to me! I think, if you are in tune with your body, that you can spot PG symptoms really early. I looked back in my notes and on 1 DPO I noted that my CM was different than normal, at 2DPO my stomach was achy, my back hurt, my bbs felt heavy, and I dreamt that I was two months pregnant. By 5DPO I felt quesy in the afternoon and my bbs were tender. Good luck, girlie! My fingers are crossed for you!!!
Good luck to soulmate, katmg, nuhmuh, and everyone else in the 2ww! Lets keep the BFPs rolling in.
Well, DH's sample is at the lab and being tested today. Results should be faxed to my doctor's office before five and you better believe I'll be calling and pestering them to find out! I hope we get good news b/c I know it would be such a blow to DH if it turns out his little guys aren't doing their job. I can handle having my own issues, so here's hoping I'm the only problem!
Today is CD17 and now that the SA is done we're going to start BDing every day just in case my body decides to O this month. Crossing all crossables.....
Sabriel, yup, so much work is involved sometimes!
Soulmate, lol. My DH is like that, too. Obviously. :p
Tonysweetie, ugh, how annoying. Are you guys really not going to tell anyone at all for 12 weeks? We decided we would at least tell our parents and siblings. I don't know how I could keep that from my mom for so long! I hope you don't get hit by this hurricane!!!!
katmg, I hope her dream comes true!
Lizard, here's hoping your FPS turn into RPS!
Dotsie, the egg can live for a good 24 hours and the little swimmers for more than that, so if you O'd AND BD'd on Sunday, you're good!
ok... FF STILL has not called an O for me - I had to conduct a concert at school last night, so needless to say we did not BD last night. We did BD on Saturday (the day I had the + OPK). FF is giving me a yellow light today, so we are going to BD as soon as I get home today from school.
well if you all think I O'd on Monday I missed it then...:(
but I still stick with my thoughts on Sat. so hoping..plus monay is day 15 a little late for me I think to O..... humm will just have to keep my finger crossed and wait now. I also think it has to do with DH haveing the window open during the night so my temps have not been there usual?
Dotsie
klav, I agree with the others that you most likely O'd on Mon, and your BD timing is perfect!
gym, *crossing* for good test results!
Jesseybell & Lizzard: How sad that we're hoping to feel unwell. Anyone not TTCing doesn't understand the masochism ;)
As for me, I'm pretty sure I O'd around the 9th. Because no matter how much you try to escape it, we just know way too much about our bodies now. And it also means I still end up testing early. Only this time...
I Got A BFP!!!!!!!!
I first tested with an Equate, and saw a faint line. But it wasn't real to me. So then I got this beauty:
First of all, OMG...
CONGRATULATIONS FLYGIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am sooo sooo sooo excited for you. I had tears in my eyes reading your post! H&H 9 months to you!!
klav--I concur that you O'd on Monday. One more high time will give you CH. And I think your BD timing looks great as well!
nuhmah--I too am perplexed by your chart. But remember that a + OPK does not guarantee that you O...it just means that your body is producing LH. Which could then drop off not having reached a level high enough to release the egg. Keep BDing girl!
Yay gymwidow for getting the SA done today! Hoping and praying that the results are stellar. I totally understand what you mean about DHs not being able to deal with IF issues as well as us. My DH would be devastated as well.
jesseybell & Lizard--FPS really suck, don't they?? Here's hoping that you are just SOOO in tune with your bodies that the FPS are really RPS!!!
CTs Punkin--Sending an ovary shout your way! Go EGGY!
amurphy--rollin' in your baby dust! So excited to get to say that!!
Dotsie--Yay for a confirmed O. I would say that you definitely have a chance based on your BD timing. Fingers crossed for patience! And an anniversary BFP would be fantastic!
Tonysweetie--hey! I remember you from March '05 Brides in the 'other place'...and I've seen you around here..weren't you TTA??? ;)
Wrighty--Not sure, but maybe you O'd on CD15...is that more in line w/ what you think? You def. had fertile CM after what FF is calling O (but sometimes that happens), and I usually dip below CL somewhere around 4 DPO and bouce back up...hmmm :confused:
Soulmate--LOVIN' that slow rise you've got going on. Sending positive and patient vibes your way!!
Huge CONGRATULATIONS to gardenia and flygirl!!
Still waiting to O here...I went to my uncle's funeral yesterday so although I don't really feel stressed out by his passing (it was so sad, of course, but I don't think I'd call it stress), I guess it could have delayed O this month. I've had red spotting the last two days (just like all my other annov cycles), so I don't know what to think anymore. Technically we haven't been trying the whole time, but I've been off BCP for 9 months now and have only had 2 regular cycles. Do you think the dr would give me meds at this point to get my body straightened out, or make me wait until we hit 1 year of TTC? And my second question - will my regular dr give meds to me or do I have to go to an ob/gyn? I don't have an ob/gyn since my primary dr does my annual exams, so I would have to find an ob/gyn... Any opinions or advice?
I think I can safely be changed to "What the *bleep* is going on?!?!"
catlover - I don't see any reason why you'd need to wait longer. You have charts showing you're having issues with ovulation. I'd think any good doctor would take a look at those and start working with you on solutions. As for OB or doctor... probably OB/Gyn. Unfortunately, if the OB/Gyns in your area are the same as in ours, you'll be waiting 1-2 months for an appointment. :(
To answer some questions - yes I have been stressed lately. :) Last night was the first concert here at school for me this year, and this group isn't exactly last year's choir. :rolleyes: I have parent-teacher conferences this Thursday and Friday, and we are knee deep into a home remodel.
catlover call your doc. I was having a lot of midcycle spotting, which is what prompted me to call my doc in August, even though we'd only been trying for a month, and I was diagnosed with PCOS (I'd also been charting since going off BCP in February). So we could've tried and tried for a year or more and never gotten anywhere. I'm glad I have a diagnosis now so that we can treat me and get me pregnant. Your regular doc will be able to tell you if s/he can treat you or will need to refer you to an OB/GYN. Good luck.
Holy Fertility! Congratulations Flygirl! I wish you a super sticky, happy, healthy 9 months!
I should really come up with more creative congrats considering how many BFPs we've been getting around here!
klav I agree with the others that you Oed on Monday and are still in the running. O pains come *before* the egg is released as it is caused by the swelling/bursting of the folicle. It took me a very long time to realize that my O day was usually the day after my O pains were gone. But the temps override any cramps, pains, etc.
catlover I would go get an appointment too. Usually charters can get help sooner than non-charters cause they have proof that something is wrong.
katmg A while ago I had a co-worker tell me she had a dream I was pregnant in my 2ww. THAT is sooo not fun. Talk about obsessing!
gymwidow I hope your DH's spermies come out to be grade A prime swimmers!
gator97 I am holding out until Sunday...Saturday at the very earliest if I am very weak/bored. AF is due Sunday...but my acupuncturist is working on lengthening my LP so who knows. My temp will plummet on Saturday if I'm not pregnant and my LP is what it usually is. I am hoping this is it for you too! Lets all turn our FPS' into RPS'. It's only one letter...how hard can it be?
Lizard Those FPS do sound good! In reality only high progesterone causes those...but until you get the BFP you can never tell if it is pregnancy induced high progesterone. But the nausea sounds...hmmm...veeeerry interesting.
Personally, I have very few symptoms. Actually one of the most interesting is an anti-symptom. Normally by now my bbs are more sore. Around 7DPO my boobs get really sore then it isolates into my girly tips ;) then goes away completely right in time for AF. Right now my bbs are very heavy feeling and bigger (not unusual) but not horribly sore. The other unusual thing is that my gums were bleeding today when I brushed my teeth. Only when I get actual vomiting, a bloody nose, or mid-LP spotting will I get excited. Other than that they are all tentatively added to my FPS list.
Wow! I figured I should congratulate all our newest BFP's before we get a new thread!! I'm out of town right now but have been following along as much as I can.
So.... Big Congrats to Mystikal, Gardenia, and Flygirl!! I'm so happy for you all!
ok is it me or was FF suppose to give me a O date?:confused: do I have to have one more day with a high temp??? throughly lost here...
So, no call from the doc yesterday. I'm really annoyed with how long it seems to take this office to call me back. I hope it gets better. I called the lab this morning to confirm that they did indeed fax the SA results yesterday and the person there said she was sure they went out, but that she'd refax them right now just in case. So, I'm giving the doc's office until 9:30, maybe 10, before I start calling again.
In the meantime, my bleeding has stopped! Woohoo! It's so nice to be able to leave the house w/o a pantiliner on. :D
catlover for me, they did a vaginal u/s and blood tests. The u/s showed a bunch of cysts in my ovaries, and the blood tests showed that my FSH and LH levels were way off where they should've been. I hadn't had AF in almost 8 weeks, so I went on Provera to induce it, and then when I started this cycle, I had CD4 blood tests done, which I guess showed my doc whatever she needed to see to confirm that she thinks it's PCOS. She also looked at all my charts, which showed only 2 cycles (out of 7) that *might've* had an O. Her partner, who is also a family friend of mine, agreed with her diagnosis when he looked at my u/s and chart.
Soulmate, thanks, we're waiting to find out!
gymwidow ~ Thanks for the info. I called yesterday and made an appointment for next Wednesday, but then I think AF actually started yesterday afternoon. It was a little heavier than the spotting I've been getting, so I'm hopeful it was AF. We'll see after today I guess. If that's the case then hopefully I can skip the Provera and just get the u/s and bloodwork. Do you think it will matter that I will be on CD8 when I go in? I'm thinking (if this is really AF) that maybe I should just wait and see if I O this cycle around my usual CD18-19. Thoughts? Did you have any other symptoms of PCOS? I was reading online about abnormal hair growth, gaining weight, skin flaps, etc. and none of that stuff really applies to me... Sorry that your dr's office is so slow. My co-worker had that same problem with her dr when trying to get bloodwork results. Don't they know that their patients are anxious to get test results of any kind?? You'd think they'd try to speed things up...:rolleyes:
soulmate & mkvh~ Thanks for your input. I have scheduled an appt for next week (although I may decide to wait - see above).
soulmate ~ Your chart is looking mighty good! Fingers crossed for you!
klav ~ Based on your temps, Monday looks like your definite O day. Maybe FF is confused b/c you didn't have any fertile CM at that time?
Thanks to everyone for the loads of babydust! There are still a few of us left in here that need it...;)
In light of recent events, I am happy to be moved back to "Waiting to O". :)
Question - If I remember correctly, TCOYF says that the first day you have red flow should be CD1. Technically I had red spotting 2 days before any real "flow". Which day should be CD1: the first day of red or the first day of real "flow"?
Lizard
10-20-2005, 09:24 AM
catlover - I count the first day of real flow. I often have a couple days of spotting prior to actual AF, and I just mark them as "spotting" on my chart.
klav - Try putting in a fake high temp for tomorrow in your chart, and see if it changes anything. FF might need another day.
Well, I actually stayed home from work today because I feel so much like poo. When I got up, I went in the bathroom and that urge to test got into me, lol. Then I checked my test supply and saw I only had one left, and it's a Walgreens test which is only 100 miU. I'm only 9 DPO so I think it's WAY too early for that. :) I'll force myself to wait until the weekend or after.
ok put in a fake number for tomorrow and...................nothing!?! ARRRGGGGHHHH
lizard ~ That's kind of what I was leaning towards. Darn it, I liked being on CD4 better than CD2. :rolleyes:
My temps are still pretty low. I discarded the ones from when I had a fever. It's so exciting and suspenseful to enter my info every day and see what it looks like! Today is CD 13. From what I have observed and learned here and at FF, my best prediction for my O date is CD 16. I read up on CM (and even saw some pictures, which really helped!) and I think that what I thought was EWCM last month on CD 17-18 was actually creamy CM. There was just a lot of it. I finally figured out how to check my CM internally without hurting myself (I have long nails) so I feel like I have a much better idea of what's going on.
Around this time in my last cycle I had some cramping on my right side around my ovary. Right now I have the same pain on my left side around my ovary, so I am thinking that's the side I am Oing on. These are all just guesses here. To be on the safe (and FUN) side DH and I have decided we'll just have to BD as much as we can starting today. I am super excited. I have this feeling deep down that this is our month, although I am prepared for it not to be. Good luck to everyone!
4DPO. 7 more days till test day:D I had a slight "pinching" feeling on the left side today. My cm is definitely more abundant this month as well. Usually after AF I have nothing. I am trying not to get my hopes up.
Good Luck everyone!!!
I am cross-posting junky today (big adreneline rush) so pardon me...
Had my annual GYN appointment with a lot of ttc talk, so here is the low-down
1) They took a pregnancy test but it will come back negative - I think my doctor had just written down that my cycle started on September 20th, not that I Oed on Day 23, so she thought I was on Day 31 of a fairly normal cycle so that's why she suggested it. I am disappointed because for about 2 hours I thought I was going to know tomorrow whether I am pg or not, then realized my friends who have had IUIs don't get blood tests before 14DPO so I checked online and confirmed that bloodtests can't detect at 8 DPO.
2) If I am not pg this cycle, I will have an HSG (tube test) between Day 5-10 which will probably be the week of Halloween. She gave me a prescription for the antibiotic I have to take day before,day of and day after. I have to call CD1 to schedule. This will be the only test she'll do for another 5-6 months. With my history of endometriosis, that's why she's doing it now (and also because I am 35, but that is less of a factor) DH will get a SA in 5-6 months, if needed. So I will call when we get back from Florida at the beginning of March if I need to.
4) Since I am a DES Daughter and the result can be an incompetent cervix, they most likely won't automatically give me a cerclage, but will do ultrasounds every 2 weeks for a period of time to monitor my cervix (starting at end of 1st trimester??)
I told the cute pharmacist (whose wife is pg after lots of infertility treatments) that I hoped I wouldn't need the antibiotic!
So at least we have a plan so I am happy!!!!!!! Now if only the next week could go by quickly.
jesseybell-glad there is a plan in place. I know I always feel better with one.
nuhmah- I agree that there are some pretty charts. yeah for O for you!
Lizard--sorry you aren't feeling well but . . . hoping it's for a good reason.
klav- sorry that you are having such a frustrating time. hope you are able to figure it out soon.
As for me, 9 DPO and really tired, mildy nauseous (very mild), mild cramps. So getting my hopes up but all of that can be attributed to the progesterone supplements. Trying hard not to test too early.
Me-CD 15...still boring...nothing going on....i REALLY hope i O on Saturday or Sunday....B will actually be home...wish me O luck for this weekend:D
I guess all I can do is hope and just wait till nov.3rd!!
gator - thanks for the encouragement!!!
polkadot - the wait is the HARDEST part of all this! It trumps the temping, the not getting out of bed, and turning on the light to gleefully check your temp in the dark of the morning. :p
jesseybell - that is great that you have a plan. Sometimes not having one makes you feel helpless.
I'm very confused at why FF SUDDENLY changed the O date and my coverline....especially since my temp went up from yesterdays temp. Odd?
Anyone know why is does this? It's not like I changed any of the preceding data....
I don't disagree with the change, it just wasn't expected...
It's now giving me a "high" reading instead of a "good"-- so I guess that's good :)
HULA That was it!!!! I did not know I could turn off the cM indicator I should have had that off all the time sence the clomid takes that away!!! Tank you so much I got my line ans YES girls you were all right for guessing Monday but I'm still thnking it was atleast sat? O-well we will see if I get to be added to the pumpkin patch!!! polkadot, good luck on Oing this weekend!
Wrighty26, I can't help with why FF changed your O date, but if it gives you a better reading I would say it's a good thing!
klav, I am glad you figured everything out!
I had a temp jump today. Today is CD14 so I guess I could O at any time.
Happy Friday everyone!
klav How did you make out with FF? Don't feel bad. FF screwed with me big time last month.
Lizard Sorry you're feeling ill but hopefully it's for a good cause ;)
As for me. I'm 5dpo. Trying so hard not to over analyze anything. I have no symptoms fake or real. I know it's too early for any of that anyway. I wish the waiting wasn't so hard. When does a chart start to look good? Is it after 9DPO or sometime after?
I'm not the best with charting my CM, so on months where I know I didn't catch it everyday I turn off that feature. I don't want it to rely to heavily on the few days of CM I put in when I know it's incomplete. :rolleyes:
secretly hoping MY chart is one of the ones you all think looks good!:D
You all are SOOO right about the purty charts out there!!! I'm willing to bet that we see some more pumpkins around here...
As for me, I officially HATE OPKs. I can't hold it for 4 hours, and I have yet to get a line that's as dark as the control line. Heck, I'm excited if I get a line at all. So it turns out the reason the doc's office hasn't called us with the SA results is that the doc was out yesterday and the tech who receives and reviews the test results has been out for 2 days. GRRRR! :mad: Anyway, they'll both be in today, so we can expect to find out soon.
In the meantime, I had some nice creamy CM yesterday and still no more spotting. I'm hoping my body continues what seems to be an every-other-cycle-is-normal pattern and will actually do what it's supposed to this month! Today is CD19 and in the 2 months where I definitely think I O'd it happened on CD20, so here's hoping...... We BD'd last night and will again tonight and tomorrow and the next day, until either I see a temp jump or just realize it's not gonna happen. In which case, bring on the drugs! :D
catlover when I had my first bloodwork done I was on CD42! I'm not sure what the levels are supposed to be at certain points in the cycle, but ask your doc and they'll be able to tell you if it'd be good to test now or wait. I personally am a very impatient person and don't like to wait for anything, so I didn't want to wait and see what happened, even though my doc suggested that as an option. I figure it's better to find out early on if there might be an issue, that way I'm not just waiting for something that will never happen on its own! I had no other symptoms of PCOS before my diagnosis, but after I was diagnosed, I looked back at my weight charts and realized that I've actually gained about 7 lbs since going off the pill and have been fighting to take them off. I don't know if I can blame that on the PCOS, but it might be part of the reason.
Michelle, it definitely is exciting! I stare at my chart sometimes - it's fascinating to me how all these things can tell me what's going on in my body. I hope this is your month!
Dotsie & nuhmah, crossing my crossables for you!
Soulmate, I'm so not used to not bleeding that today I actually went ahead and put a pantiliner on just in case (I'm wearing light pants and didn't want anything to, ah, show, if it should come back)!
jesseybell, wow, so much info! I'm glad you had a good appt with the doc and were able to go over everything. Have you had an HSG before? I just had one last week and was relieved to see that my tubes are clear. We should have my DH's SA results back today and we're both anxiously awaiting finding out!
jesseybell
10-21-2005, 07:50 AM
gymwindow- I haven't had an HSG before so I am a little nervous. Trying not to read too much about it online. But I am really glad that she wanted to do it so early. Too bad they aren't doing SA too, then I'd really breathe a sigh of relief (if everything was okay), but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
I was in a huge funk this morning when my temps were down .4, but I feel much better now after looking at pretty BFP charts online where DPO temps go up and down.
gymwidow
10-21-2005, 09:39 AM
Just talked to the doc's office - they said they never got the results, even though the hospital lab told me they faxed them over. :rolleyes: I don't know who to believe, but whatever, just get them for me now! The nurse said she'd call for them and have the doctor call me this afternoon. <tapping fingers impatiently.....>
jesseybell, if you want to hear about my HSG experience, let me know and I'll be happy to share with you. A friend of mind had gone through one before, so she explained to me step-by-step what had been done to her and it made me feel better to know what was going to happen. I'm really glad we did that and the SA now. Even though we already knew I had PCOS and would need Clomid (most likely) to get me to O, it was good to get these other tests done so that we can rule out any other problems and just move forward treating the issue we know exists.
Results are in. And they're not good. A normal count is somewhere b/w 60-150 million and DH's count was only 12 million. He's got an appointment next Friday with a urologist to get checked out.
He's devastated and I feel like I just got sucker-punched. The PCOS was one thing, but to add this to it as well..... I'm just trying not to cry while I'm still at work.
I know that there are ways around this and I'm sure we'll still be able to get pregnant, so I'm trying to keep thinking positively. I might not come by for a few days, though, while we let this sink in and deal with it. I'll hopefully be back with some better news soon.
Hugs to all.
I'm sorry Melissa. :( I'm glad you got an urologist appt. so fast though, and I hope they can find some answers. Does your DH go back for a 2nd test in a couple months?
Just a quick FYI, I will do some updating tonight, but then I think I'm going to be out of town until Monday night. DH's uncle passed away overnight, very suddenly. We don't know much yet but I have a feeling we'll be driving up to stay with his folks and keep them company.
That being said, I don't know when I'll test. Maybe tomorrow morning, but if we leave tonight, then it won't be until Tuesday. :eek: At least I'd have a definitive answer by then. :)
WC Name: Neen
Me: 30
DH: 30
Married since: 11/15/03
Off BCP since: 2/04
TTC since: waiting until 1/06
Charting since: 10/05/05 (also did before BFP with DD)
Known issues/test results: none
Chart: its online, but I only know how to give the link for when I edit it... help?!
Current status: I think I o'd.
We are waiting - TTC will begin in January... maybe sooner! :D
I have to admit, I only charted with DD because I thought my cycles/body were more messed up than they were- in case we weren't able to conceive. It helped take the stress off of worrying as I had everything written down and could show my doc. I was so blessed last time and hope starting early this time will help.
Hey everybody, long time no see. :) You all must have been keeping busy, what with all of the BFPs in here!
I had my annual OBGYN appt yesterday and discussed my concerns with my doctor. She is doing some blood tests and wrote me a prescription for 3 rounds of Clomid (50mg). She also gave us a referral for DH to get a semen analysis next week. If everything looks good with that and AF shows up in a couple of weeks, I will start taking the Clomid to try to regulate my cycles.
I'm still holding out just a tiny bit of hope that AF will stay away and we'll never need the Clomid. :o Therefore, please move me to Think I O'ed - Testing 10/31 - 11/6:.
I’m sorry I’m getting behind :o.
Soulmate, Thank you! I gave up being creative awhile ago. Your chart looks beautiful! I didn’t really think about symptoms this time; in fact, everything seemed totally normal until *after* I tested. But other than a few light cramps & sore bbs, I actually feel pretty good :).
UTChick, thank you!
jodylovesscotty Thanks! Two days is nothing for sperm, seriously. Another thing, I noticed that you usually O on your last fertile CM day or the day after. This time there was fertile CM the next day. I’m guessing you O’d later in the day, so your next-day BD may very well work!
Hula, thank you! Would love you to join, Today looks like one big implantation dip :D
Michelle, oh, you’re so sweet ;). Thank you! You had a good run of fertile CM & definitely O’d. I hope your BD schedule matched!
ds2003, thank you so much. I may just do that. Assuming I can keep up… I’m finding I’d rather spend time researching pg-stuff. Hmmm…imagine that ;).
jen(shana), Thank you! Maybe we should do blue-sash nurseries (soooo just kidding – sort of ).
Sabriel, good luck on Tues! I hope you get the green light.
Lizzard, I am so very sorry about DH’s uncle :(. Your chart, as usual, is driving me crazy!!!!!!!! Dude, you spotted. So test. (Just get something other than Walgreens).
To Be Continued...
Melissa, again, I am so, so very sorry. This must be so devastating right now. But as you said, there *are* ways around that, so keep your thoughts positive. My own thoughts are with you and your DH.
Dotsie, it’s hard to say when a chart looks good. A lot of it has to do with how it differs from past charts, and how long your LP is. And climbing temps after about 9DPO helps ;). Is CM still abundant? That was probably my biggest sign pre-test; *very* abundant CM that gets more so every day.
MichelleRene, today’s temp looks good for an O!
car_loverpq, thank goodness that’s over! I really hope this is a normal cycle for you.
ShelbyMay, I think you have more than a little hope :). If that’s your O, then this is by far your best BD timing
Polka, Good O luck this weekend! ;)
gator, as for testing, I *could* tell you to wait to test, but then I’d be a hypocrite. So if you feel like testing, do it! I’m crossing everything!
nuhmah, fingers crossed this is really the O!
jesseybell, I’m glad you feel good about a plan :). One thing: A blood test can be accurate at 8 DPO if implantation has already occurred. In your case, today looks pretty good for implantation day. ;).
***I'm sorry if I've missed anyone. Thanks again to everyone! It *finally* hit me for a brief time this afternoon, but otherwise I'm still in shock. Sadly, DH is more in shock than I am ( :p ). Good news is that I haven't had many symptoms at all. Some nausea & cramping the day I tested, nard cramping the next day, and now only minor cramping. I can't believe how friggin' huge my bbs are already. Luckily I lost weight this summer, so I still have a ton of bras that will fit my expanding chest. Not to mention all my winter clothes that I still have that will probably save me from buying too much maternity stuff until next spring.
I started my marathon OPK testing today. :rolleyes: I am hoping I will have another consistent O around CD 19 or 20. Welcome Neen!!
CM is still very abundant. Normally I have little to none but I have tons. I'm hoping this is a *very* good sign. I haven't really schitzed out this cycle. I'm trying really hard not to go overboard with fps.
Question. What tests does everyone recommend? I know Equate seems to be popular. Are there any others?
gymwidow I am so sorry you guys received such disappointing news. From what I hear male factor is soooo much easier to treat than female factor. I know you wish you had neither...but at least you know the problem so it can be fixed. Imagine going years trying to find out after all of that.
Lizard I am so sorry about DH's uncle. Your chart is looking fabulous BTW.
Welcome to the coolest thread on the internet neenbean!! I hope we don't give you the baby bug too much before you official TTC date.
flygirl I am looking forward to getting pregnant just so my boobs would grow! Puberty failed me...pregnancy should do the trick!
jesseybell I had an HSG too. It really wasn't a big deal at all. I think thinking about is much more scary than it really is.
I know people think my chart looks really good but I am not optimistic. I do have some different signs this cycle but I am also on these herbs from the acupuncturist. They could be making my chart pretty and giving me these weird symptoms. If any preggos would like the weigh in though, I am having two very weird symptoms. The first is that the past couple of days I have been super hot to the touch...mostly in my torso (especially my bbs). DH said that heat was radiating off of me. The second has been this weird tingly feeling "down there" like when you have to pee or are nervous. I've been getting this in waves yesterday and today. I have a feeling the heat is from the herbs though.
Dotsie My all time favorites are Equates and Dollar Tree. I got my last BFP on a DT at 10DPO. They are very reliable and veeeeeeeeeerrry cheap (only $1!). Big time no-no's are FRERs and Answer Early's. Both have had this propensity toward "disappearing positives" which I was very lucky (ahem, sarcastic) to get in June '04 (the problem still exists). Basically you get a BFP and then hours up to 48 hours later the second line disappears. They are to be considered BFNs when this happens. The company reps basically say that the line needs to still exist after 48 hours to be considered a positive. Who in the hell waits 2 days to see if the line disappears or not to know if they are pregnant!? Trust me...this little phenomena is not fun at all. I stay far away from those two tests.
Dude, you spotted. So test. (Just get something other than Walgreens).
lol, I was wondering if anyone would notice that. I didn't mention it, because it was the teeniest tiniest amount, and it was the morning after a particularly long BD session. :D But yes, I freaked out when I saw it because of the timing of it.
Bought some Equates tonight and will test in the morn. :)
Thanks flygirl. I am hoping so!
UTChick, good luck with your OPK's!
Dotsie, sounds like a good sign to me! I have friends who swear by the dollar store tests. Can't beat the price either!
Soulmate, wierd symptoms! Have you looked up the herbs to see if they could be the cause? I have never heard of those as PG symptoms, but they sound like they could be less common ones.
Lizard, good luck testing tomorrow!
Copswife, happy birthday!!
Well, I've lost a little of my own optimism this month. We were all set to BD daily until we knew that I O'd, but poor Mike caught my little flu bug. He just started feeling it tonight, and if it's the same as I had he'll feel much worse tomorrow. A "friend" told me to make him do it anyways, but I could never. Poor thing... I know how he feels and I just want him to feel better now. That same "friend" asked if I'd be mad at him if we didn't get pg this month because of this. I couldn't believe she was asking me that. First of all, there's no way I would hold something like that against him. Second, even if he didn't get sick and we BD'd every day there's still a chance I wouldn't get pg. I guess that's how I know I'm not quite obsessed yet!
Michelle, amurphy, klav, tonysweetie, mkvh, jesseybell, Lizard, Sabriel, wrighty, flygirl, UTChick, ABirney, Soulmate, and anyone else I missed, thank you all so much. It really means a lot to know that you guys are thinking of us.
We're doing much better now. It was a big shock, as neither one of us expected it, whereas with me we pretty much figured something was off b/c of my weird cycles and all that spotting. DH talked to our friend the OB/GYN and got more info from him and we know that there are many things that could have caused it, some of which are very treatable, and that there are still lots of avenues we can explore to get pregnant. DH will have to give another sample for a second test, so we're going to time things so that he can do that on Friday hopefully (the sample has to be given b/w 72 and 96 of the last time we had sex). And then we see what the urologist says.
In reality, we figure this doesn't push us too far off track. We had already believed that we'd have to wait till my next cycle for me to go on Clomid and then try. Now we just have to wait till next cycle to go on Clomid and then probably end up doing an IUI instead of the more fun, old fashioned way. Believe it or not, I think I might actually have O'd this month - had creamy CM 2 days ago and EWCM yesterday plus a little spotting, and my temp went up just a bit today, so it's very possible! We BD'd 2 days ago and will again today, just in case, but it will probably be an easier 2WW for us since we don't have many expectations now. The hardest part for me is having to wait even longer to really do anything more. But I don't have much choice in it, so I'll just suck it up and keep busy this week and hope that Friday comes fast!
And, life goes on. And with that, my BIGGEST CONGRATS TO Lizard! I truly am sooooo happy for you!!!!! H&H 9 months! :D
Threadmistress, can you please move me to "What the *bleep* is going on?" And you can update my profile to include known issues: PCOS diagnosed 9/05 and low sperm count diagnosed 10/05. Thanks!
I'm probably going to do more lurking than posting in here for a bit. I may check out the Still At It thread, but I'll definitely read along here to make sure I don't miss any more exciting news! And I'll keep you guys posted as things happen with us.
Again, thanks for all your support. You ladies are awesome.
gymwidow - I'm so sorry about the disappointing news - it does sound like you have a plan in place though of where to go from here, so that's good!
Lizard - CONGRATULATIONS!! We were cycle buddies before my last abnormally long cycle - hopefully I'll be joining you shortly in the July mommies thread! Happy and Healthy 9 months to you!!
Congrats Lizard!!!!
I have kind of a silly question, if anyone has any insight.
I woke up this morning at my usual time, 6:45, and took my temp. It was 96.9. I went back to sleep and woke up at 10. Out of curiosity I took my temp again and it was 97.7.
This just has me wondering what could make my temp go up so much, and how accurate temping can really be. Does time of day really make that much of a difference?
Lizard I knew it! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/cheerleader2.gif (http://www.millan.net) That looks like a positive to me! I hope this means good things for me since we were chart twins for a while.
MichelleRenee Yea...the temp can vary that much. Temping can be very accurate but you have to take it at the same time every day. Once I took my temp like 10 mins before my normal time and it was off by .1 degree. That is a lot for only 10 mins. But then other cycles it can be 30 mins difference and I get the same temp. Your temps increase as the day goes on and decrease as you sleep then rise again as the a.m. progresses.
gymwidow I am glad you are feeling better. We will all be thinking of you these next few cycles.
Lizard--CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Yeah! I had no doubt what the results would be but it is still exciting to see it for real.
Sabriel- good luck with you appointment on Tuesday. I hope you get the news you want. I would also not feel bad about letting the midwife know how disappointed you were that you were left wondering for so long about what was happening.
gymwidow- I am so sorry about the results. Your attitude is amazing. Good luck with everything.
soulmate- hoping your symptoms aren't herb related!
As for me, 11DPO and too scared to test. I've had some lower abdminal cramping and my usual right side endo pain. Feeling tired lately but I think that might be a bit more psychosomatic that real fatigue. I'm feeling a bit unmotivated today. I'm not very hopeful because truly, what are the chances of getting pregnant two months in a row. And if the months didn't go so slowly, I probably wouldn't mind that. . .but good grief time has slowed since we started TTC, this month in particular. Okay, vent over.
