DH and I just got the 10 piece set of the Calphalon ONE infused anondized (not the non-stick). We love it so far, DH did weeks of research before adding them to our registry and then we didn't have any takers...
It was a HUGE splurge for us to by the whole set all at once but we went ahead and got them anyway using the 10% discount for our registry completion.
We love them because they have non-stick qualities but we can't seem to kill 'em.
Anyone have them? Like 'em, LOVE 'em, hate 'em?
Cheers,
Janey

B and I registered for a mix of Calphalon One Infused Anodized & Nonstick. I'd love to know how others feel about them too!
Golightly - Where did you end up buying your set of 10? I noticed that Williams-Sonoma has really nice "free gifties" to go with it -- Macy's has lame ones, but that is where we're registered. If we don't receive any as gifts, we will likely get the set from WS.

Oh, me!
I purchased the 3 qt one, when we decided we needed a bigger pan to make one-dish meals. It took me awhile to warm up to it, but I've decided I really like it for most applications.
It seems like a friendly version of regular hard anodized cookware. It is most definitely not-nonstick, but, it does release easier than other things I've used. So I like it. I'm not sold on replacing all my cookware (calphalon hard anodized nonstick) but I enjoy the piece I have.

We got ours at Williams Sonoma, where we registered... The 2 non-stick pans that are freebies with the 10 piece set are great too.
Williams Sonoma was so great to register with. The staff is really so helpful. It's like my new Ann Taylor... serious trouble the minute I set foot inside. I just want everything!

I love my calphalon one pots and pans! I found this freebie on the calphalon website that I thought was pretty good. I haven't received mine yet, but hopefully soon! Enjoy! :)

Yes! I sent in my registry list and they sent me back the jelly roll pan and turner. I was pretty excited about that freebie. ;) I was so excited about it that it even spawned an entire Blog Entry (http://stfunfw.blogspot.com/2005/06/calphalon-commercial-bakeware.html).

My original cookware is Calphalon, and it's pretty darn good stuff.
Over the past couple of years though I have begun to enmass a set of All-Clad, and from my perspective, the All-Clad is a far superior product.
Just my personal opinion is all :)

Thanks for your perspective Gayle! Why do you think the All-Clad is better?
I believe that my DH was attracted to the semi-non-stick qualities of the ONE anondized without the worry of teflon coated pans. As soon as we told the salespeople at Williams Sonoma that we were just starting to really get into cooking, they pointed us in the direction of the ONE and we took it from there.
We haven't really used them enough to form much of an opinion except that they work better than our old ones (which isn't saying much actually.)
Cheers!

"Thanks for your perspective Gayle! Why do you think the All-Clad is better?"
Don't get me wrong, Calphalon is great cookware!
But there are a couple of reasons I like All-Clad better.
The shape and sizes of the pans are more to my liking, and meet my needs better. All-Clad is double hulled, so it has insulative properties that my Calphalon doesn't have, and consequently it distributes heat better. Also, because of that feature it is wonderful cookware to use at VERY high temps, and much of the stuff I do with deglazed sauces etc, require high temp cooking. Another feature of All-Clads heat distribution is, that even though the pot is working at high heat, the handles never get very hot. My calphalon handles have burned me many a time as heat travels right up them
I also like the mc2 finish. It isn't non-stick cookware, but it almost behaves like it. VERY easy clean up.
Last on the list is the cookware is just truly lovely to look at. And with proper care, it stays lovely to look at.

Ahhh... wow... I wonder if we got the wrong thing... excuse me while I nurse my buyer's remorse for a minute...
Those Calphalons were really really expensive, and DH and I bought them thinking that we would have them forever... maybe not.
I can't even fathom what a deglazed sauce is so I guess we're not in too much trouble...
You just explained the difference better than anyone else who tried could. Thanks!

FWIW, golightly, I don't think you should have buyer's remorse. I have been able to do every cooking application I've tried in the Infused Anodized. I would suggest you try them out for awhile and see how you feel about them - they should take them back if you're not happy. I personally don't like cooking with stainless steel, so you can see it's all a matter of opinion. :)

Oh don't have any buyers remorse!!
It really is all about what YOU personally like to cook with, and your style of cooking.
I am a cooking junkie, and have been cooking since I was 7 years old. I am now 51, so I have had a heck of alot of years to really figure out what my personal preferences are. I also like cooking at an almost professional level, so I need and expect my cookware to function at a professional level.
And, I can tell you I happily cooked with Calphalon (and still do as my cookware is a blend of both brands) for 20 plus years.
My gosh, if this is your first set of really quality cookware, Calphalon might actually be the best possible choice you could have made.

Okay. Thanks Gayle... I am writing this at nearly midnight as I wait for a Chicken Divine casserole (Bride and Groom First and Forever Cookbook's take on Chicken Divan) to bake. I had it in there for the time alotted, washed all the dishes cleaned the countertops, etc. and then discovered that the oven had gotten turned off after I pre-heated it.
So here I am... waiting it out while my DH and dog sleep peacefully in the next room. Oh well. I am certainly living up to my nickname... I had a friend who used to call me Holly Helpless from Homemaker Hell. Holly Hobby's evil twin of course. :p
Cheers (yawn),

In case anybody was interested... I saw a Calphalon One Nonstick 4.5 quart sauce pan w/ lid on the clearance rack at BB&B today. It was marked down from $185 to $60. I had a 20% Off coupon and almost bit.

Hi! We also did the infused ano Calphalon One -- I love it, except for these things --
It gets scratched a lot, in the sink/ against other metal -- not on the inside, but the outside. Very weird.
I cannot cook eggs in it -- but admittedly, I can barely cook eggs on anything. It's my great white hope that someday I learn to cook a decent egg. My family just laughs at me. But I digress -- my problem with the Calphalon and the eggs seems to be that it holds so much heat, it's difficult to get it at a low enough temp for very delicate things.
Last, though, I half wish I'd gotten the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless -- just because it can go in the dishwasher.
Signing off,
The Lazy Cook :)
