So, I'm thinking I need a new hair style. Please tell me what you think would look good. I am not afraid of going shorter, as my hair grows fairly quickly. Some days I think perhaps just a trim in back and perhaps some bangs. Some days I think I'd like to go drastic. Please tell me what you think. By the way, my hair isn't thick, but it isn't thin. It doesn't hold much of a curl...though it does kink up in areas when I throw it into a ponytail. I don't want to spend too long on my hair in the morning. Right now, it's either all down as it is in these pictures...or it's pretty much in a pony tail or a bun. Sometimes I wear my glasses, but I also wear my contacts as well. TIA for your help. :)
Also, now that I look at these pictures it appears I need to do something with the color...you can tell I was out in the sun earlier this summer and now that I am back at work...well, the roots seem to be coming out.
Please excuse the quality of pictures, my DH took them.

I say go shoulder length blunt cut with maybe a little framing around your face. I have similar hair to what you describe, and that is when it looks it's best and doesn't drag. I have a round face and the shorter I was scared of, but it is actually when I get the most compliments on my hair and no 'you look tired' comments. It takes no time to get ready, max blow dry it for a few minutes. Right now I have a few layers at the end and I am hating it. Blunt with a little framing was so much easier!! Show us your results :D

I agree. Shoulder length and some framing was the first thing that came to my mind as well.
If you have a trusted hair stylist I would go to her and just say cut it and have fun. Tell her that you don't want to spend time doing your hair but you want a change. I did it and she came up w/ something better than anything I could have thought of.

Right around the shoulders or a little bit below, with some long layers, especially around the face. That would be so cute and would give you some height on top (without the weight of the hair weighing it down). You've got great hair!

Seeing as how we look so much alike, if you weren't afraid of shortish hair, I think you could get away with a really shortish shaggy bob like I just had.

i would like to see you in layered shoulder length hair, dyed rich chocolate brown, with maybe some face framing amber highlights.

I agree with the previous posters - shoulder-length hair with some layers and highlights to frame your face.

I agree with all of the other posters on the cut - for the color, I think you would look really good with it darkened up a little.
I agree with the suggestion for shoulder-length, face-framing layers. Maybe some long, side-swept bangs?

Except for the color, my hair was exactly like yours--long and blunt cut, neither thick nor thin, not "curly" but not stick straight either. When I made "the big haircut leap" I chopped it to about two inches below my shoulders with layers. I hated it at first, but grew to love it after several months. (I now have a totally different style, though, just for a change of pace.)
I like the ideas here, but for your sanity I would start with a shorter blunt cut and experiment with styling. Long hair weighs itself down. I used to be one of those people who said my hair couldn't hold a style, so I never bothered--but once you lose some length, you'd be amazed what your hair will do for you. I'd get comfortable with a shorter length before I went to a drastic change, because learning how to deal with that newfound flexibility plus a new style was a bit overwhelming for me. I went to work many mornings very late and nearly screaming in frustration!
