Last night I was watching the news and there was a story about a couple who didn't name their child. She was known as babygirl Lane until recently when she named herself Alice. She covered herself with the blanket and said, "Where's Alice?" Dad asked her who Alice was and she said, "Me." Can you imagine going through life without a name for two years or not calling your child by a legal name?

That's how skiier Picabo Street got her name, too. Definitely not my cup of tea, but to each family their own.

How about naming one twin and not the other? I saw this recently on some baby-related show. I think it was "Baby, Baby" but couldn't swear to it - I watch a few! :D

But, as a twin myself, I was particularly offended by this. I cannot even imagine the identity issues that might occur. Granted, I think the babies were only a few weeks old when they mentioned this but still!

As oshannon said, to each their own, but I would - and did - name my child when she was born!
