What to do with expensive clothes that don't fit anymore?

I was cleaning out my closet this weekend and sadly, discovered that even more of my favorite clothes no longer fit. A lot of stuff is just going to go to charity, but what do you do about more expensive pieces that you don't want to just give away, but maybe can't sell on Ebay?

i actually sold a Yigal dress on ebay not too long ago! but it was a piece that i had gotten for less than $15 (loehman's clearance + coupons), and i didn't care if i made money on the sale. i was just tired of looking at it in the back of my closet!

when i think something is too high end for ebay (this is rare though, usually they are just not well known enough) i take it to a upscale consignment shop near my town. i've found them to be VERY fair with pricing. she tells me the selling price, and then sends me a check for 50% when the items is sold. the only annoying thing is that she only wants items in the current season.

maybe you have a similar consignment shop near you?
