I inherited a bedroom set that I need to pick up. Problem? It is located about 750 miles away. I am looking for ideas or any knowledge of the cheapest means to pick it up. No one I know will let us borrow their truck and put almost 1500 miles on it to pick it up so that is not an option (plus I would never ask). So far I found Enterprise for between $350 and $560. I would like to see if there is something cheaper and thought I would tap into the vast knowledge of the ladies here.

By the time you spend the money on a rental van/gas/accomodations for such a long trip, I would just look into having it shipped to you.

$350 unfortunately sounds as cheap as you're going to get. Budget has van rentals, but the cost will probably be about the same if not more. Same with UHaul.

If you want to ship something that big, I'd look into possibly using Greyhound. Here is the website for Ship Greyhound (http://www.shipgreyhound.com/).

Thank you ladies :D I am looking into a quote from a shipper. I had no idea about greyhound! I'll have to look into that.
