Curious. Just when I thought I was going to overwhelm friends and family by having TOO MANY items, a few new moms tell me I don't have nearly enough. Just curious what is typical and what the reactions to your registry content were.

As a person who has bought items off of many registries I do not like when I print a registry at babies r us and it is 13 pages. It is too difficult to manage. If the store changed the print feature to print more items per pages it wouldn't be so bad. These 13 or so page registries had 120ish items (according to their online registry). I think you can eliminate a lot by not putting clothes on the registry. When it comes to clothes, most people buy what they think is cute.

Thanks for the guest perspective. Funny, I find BRU's registry very easy to navigate through in comparison to many others (including Target). But 13 pages is a bear no matter how neatly laid out they are, I guess!

Well, I just went crazy and registered for a ton of stuff, so friends and family should have no problems. To alleviate that 13-page problem, I spread the registry over three stores. So if someone walks into BRU or Target or even Babystyle, they should find a good variety but not feel overwhelmed. Best of all, I feel like the items on our registry are going to actually be USEFUL and aren't just page-fillers. I was nervous about that, but it worked out. :)

I have to agree that BRU's registries are well laid out and tell you where items are located.

I do not remember how many items we registered for in total. We were registered at 3 different stores.
