Hey Sue, just checking in. I've been so busy with setting up my new business with my business partner (her son is only 6 days older than Danielle), and being in my new SLO moms group, I haven't had much chance to post or ready anything. Plus, there hasn't been much posting going on and I don't like the new format of WC either. Here's my new business website. It's all stuff WE would want to buy: www.littlewatkins.com

Oh, and thanks for setting this up, Sue!!:D

Oh! How nice it is to have our thread over here!! :) Tahlia is watching the wiggles right now so I have a few minutes. :) I can't wait to hear how everyone is.

Hello ladies! I'm mostly over here now too, so I thought I would stop by :) Thanks Sue for starting this up! I'm sitting here watching my little girl say bye-bye, then covering her hands over her eyes, then removing them and saying peek-a-boo (well close to it anyways!) I could just watch her all day long :) They are growing and learing so much at this age, I just love it!!

Question~ Are you ladies going to take your little ones out Trick-or-Treating this year?? If so do you already have their costumes?
I am very excited to do this, Natalie is going to be a bumble bee!

Me: Kristine
Baby: Natalie
DOB: 6/9/04

Have a great day ladies!

Oops, I meant to type 2004, not 2005 Mommies!

Hello ladies! I'm so glad to hear from all of you! Hopefully the other May mommies will find us here too and we can make this our new little "home." It's always nice to be able to check-in, swap stories, and see how everyone is doing.

Gina, wow you sound like a busy girl! Good luck with your new business. I'll check out your website in a bit.

Melissa, the wiggles huh? How is Tahlia doing? How are you feeling these days?

Kristine, isn't this such a fun stage? I could watch Brendan all day long too! He too says "bye bye" (even to strangers at a restaurant!) and plays all sorts of fun toddler games! He's such a sponge and a great little helper too. He always puts his clothes in the hamper after we change him and he helps the teachers at daycare put away toys and bring out the chairs for snacks.

Halloween: Yikes, I don't know what Brendan will be yet for Halloween although we've tossed around a few ideas. Right now we are leaning towards Tigger. So cute! We're definitely trick-or-treating!

In other news....I am a few days late in starting my period and I'm hoping and hoping it means we have a second one on the way! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Gina - Your website and business looks great!

Kristine - We don't do Halloween here really, maybe just get they occasional little ghost come to the door. It sound like so much fun! I'm sure Natalie will make an extra cute bumble bee. :)

Sue - Oooohhh, I hope this is it for you guys! Were you trying for number 2? How exciting! Take a test! :) Brendan will be so cute as Tigger for Halloween. Yes, Tahlia loves the Wiggles. She can't do any dance moves as of yet but she bobs up and down and claps in time to the music and spins in circles. She's a cutie. :)

I'm still feeling good with the pregnancy and all, just feeling a bit seedy during the day and especially at night. I have my NT scan next Wednesday. Can't wait to see the baby again!

Melissa, good to hear that your pregnancy is going well. Will you find out the sex of the baby or do you want to be surprised?

Truthfully we have only been trying for a month but I hope I get lucky! I'm having all of the premenstrual symptoms so I'm afraid AF is coming instead.

Gina, your website looks awesome!

Jennylou, will you please change the title of this thread to 2004? I'm such a goober!

Ohhh, good luck Sue! I will be keeping my fingers crossed for you guys! :) It only took 1 cycle off my bcp for us to get pg again, so you never know!

Melissa~ You still having a little queasiness? I had some pretty bad nasuea for about 5 weeks with this one, but luckily it is over! My sciatica is acting up already though! :( I'm gonna ask my dr at my appt on Thur. if there is something I can do to help relieve the pain from that... I'm curious too, will you be finding out the sex on this one?? Do let us know when you do!

I love your website Gina! I might have to order a few things off there, my best friend is having a baby in Dec. and I will be spoiling her! :p As much as I love the Robeez I got for Natalie, I might have to get her daughter a pair from your buisness!

We are pretty sure our next one is a girl! We were down in Cali visiting DH's family a few weeks ago and his cousin (who is an OB-GYB) gave us an u/s! :) I was right at 16wks, so I know it's early to guess on that, but he said he was pretty sure it was a girl! I will have my reg. u/s in a few weeks, so we will see what they say! :p

Ok, well I've got to get to work!

Kristine - Yep! Still feeling a little bit off. It is nowhere near as bad as it was was TJ though! Oh you poor thing dealing with sciatica. :( I hope it goes for you soon. I still don't know if we'll be finding out this time. I just know the suspense will be killing me! DH said he wanted to know at first but now he doesn't know either. I'll keep you posted! How exciting that you could be having another little girl!!! :) Yay! I have a feeling that this one is a boy. :)

Sue - How lucky would you be on the first month?! It took 4 cycles this time and took 10 with TJ! I'm so darn impaitent... when are you testing??? ;) :p

10-05-2005, 06:40 PM
Kristine, oh I hope I'm as lucky as you and get pg that quickly!

Melissa, good question about when I'm testing...Truthfully I'm only a few days late and I have all the signs of AF(esp irritability and yucky skin!) so I will probably wait a while longer. I was tempted to buy a pg test the other day but thought I'd better save my money and do the waiting game. Can you tell I'm impatient?

Hi all!

I'm here too. I haven't even been to the WC in a long time. We are busy, busy in our house with school and work.
Liam started swim lessons this week and they are going very well so far. He is so much fun and so sweet, I could just eat him up! :)
Good to hear how everyone is doing! Congrats on the pregnancies (and possible preganancies!)

Amanda("Ang"), welcome back! Yes I know what you mean about being very busy with work and school(in my case, school and work go together since I teach). Isn't this such a fun stage? I could just eat Brendan up too! Everything is so cute! The tantrums I could do without but everything else is just precious!

Well I decided to take a pg test tonight and I saw this: I I....Yes two pink lines! I have never taken a home pg test before this one so of course I'm paranoid that it's a false positive. I'm going to the clinic to confirm tomorrow. I really hope it's positive b/c I'm so excited about the possibility of having another baby!

Have a good weekend, ladies!

Oh my goodness Sue!!!! Congratulations!!!! :) :) :) You're going to be a mummy again!!! How exciting! :)

It was my birthday yesterday so I am now 25. Oh joy! I had a lovely day and told some friends about the pregnancy since now I'm 12 weeks along. :) They were very pleasantly surprised. :) I was so spoiled with vanilla perfume and choccies. Heavenly! Tahlia woke up at 5:30 this morning... probably all the lollies and cake she stole off us yesterday, cheeky monkey!

Welcome, Peyton and Caroline! Congrats Caroline on your second May baby!

Peyton, good to see you around again. You were part of our LJ group, right? The LJ group didn't make it very long but hopefully this will be our more "permanent home." :)

Melissa, Happy B-day! I love the smell of vanilla, too! And congrats for closing in on the first trimester. You're almost there!

Well I went to the lab and took a pg test on Saturday but I won't find out officially until tomorrow. I am pretty confident though that I am pg, not only b/c I took two pg tests but also b/c I *feel* very pregnant already! I am the Matron of Honor at my friend's wedding next month and I no longer fit in the BM dress. :( I'm also very pooped. I spoiled myself this weekend by taking naps with Brendan. His daycare will be closed tomorrow so we're spending the day together. :)

Caroline - Hey!! Welcome!! How's the sickness treating you? Can't wait until our next meet up!! We'll have to plan something soon. :)

Peyton - Hi! Welcome to the group!! :)

Sue - Thanks for the congrats! :) So happy for you being pregnant. I hope the tiredness passes soon although it is nice to cuddle up with the kiddos, isn't it? Yay that you've got a little belly too! :)

Tahlia is chucking another tantrum right now, I have no idea over what though. I can't wait for this phase to pass. She has the sternest look on her face. We went to the park today because the weather is just so nice at the moment. She had a lovely time picking (and eating) the flowers, funny girl! :)

Sue - Yep, that was me! I've been on this site for a few months, since they changed the WC format. Congrats on the positive test! We'll be trying for #2 this time next year.

Melissa - It sounds like Tahlia had a fun time at the park. I can't wait until the weather here (Florida) cools down. It's sooo unbearable! We took Reagan to the park a couple of weeks ago when we had a "cool" day. She was so excited when we got there...bouncing up and down, clapping her hands, and cheering...that I thought she would leap out of the car with her carseat still attached and start running towards the swings!

WOW ladies glad to see lots of us are still here.

Things are better her. I actually got reports from by OB abd we had genetic testing done. I have a rare genetic blood disorder that caused the clots to form in the umbilical cord which is why my sons has IUGR. So moving forward if and when I get PG again I will have to be on blood thinners. Its amazing its so simple of a fix. Anyway its helped me handle my grief since I know its nothing that was within my control and not something they would test for until really it was too late.

CONGRATS to all you PG with #2. Such an exctiting time for you all. Wishing you all the best.

I am going back to work next week. Part time this time which will be nice for Ryan to transition to.

He is super. Running all over and tlaking up a storm. Its amazing how fast it goes isnt it?

I will post more soon!

Kelly! OMG, so good to see you here! Glad to hear that you are doing well. We've missed you! Also, I am glad to hear that you were able to get an accurate diagnosis and that you have options available. I have a few friends who were on blood thinners and it didn't seem bad at all. Yay, that you are going to p/t work status! That will definitely make the transition easier.

Okay gotta run as Brendan is making it almost impossible to type!

I know I haven't been around in a long time, but I think I can keep up with this thread now. I've missed all of you!!

I haven't posted here on CC yet, so please forgive me while I get the hang of things.

CONGRATULATIONS to all of you who are pregnant again! Wonderful news! So who's pregnant? Sue, Melissa, Caroline, Kristine...anyone else?

For those of you who don't know me, I'm Beryl, bjbp here, on LJ, and on WC. I pretty much stopped posting on LJ after the birth of our son. I mostly post on LJ these days (for privacy purposes), but when I saw this thread, I just couldn't resist.

Things are going well with us. Vincent is 17 months old and: walking, running, saying tons of words, etc. He hasn't had a bottle for several months, still nurses 1-3 times a day, eats what we're eating (loves veggis, fruit, pretty much everything), sleeps amazingly well. Overall, is just a joy. He's in full-time daycare and has been since he was about 8 months old and he loves it.

I ended up getting a full-time job offer that was too good to pass up so extended my law school graduation date until May '07 (bar exam in July). I'm working full time and taking classes almost full-time. It's a lot on my plate right now, but I'm managing and know that this too shall pass:)

We plan to TTC again the day after the bar exam:)

I can't even remember when I last posted so if I'm leaving anything out, feel free to ask.

Hope all of you and your toddlers are doing well!

Beryl, Hi there again! I'm so glad that you are back! Wow, you are one busy lady! You are one of the few I know who has continued to nurse a toddler while working full-time. I did the same until just two days ago. Now that I'm pregnant, nursing became even more challenging so I'm in the process of weaning. It hasn't been easy for either one of us. :( Oh and of course the bbs are soooo sore! Congrats on getting that job! Glad you are back!

bjbp

Hi Sue:) I've heard that nursing while pregnant is painful. Hopefully, it's not too bad for you while you guys finish weaning. How has Bendan been with weaning? V seems about ready. He's gone whole days without nursing, but typically, still wants to nurse when he wakes up and on the weekends. I'm thankful that we were able to make it this far.

Beryl: Nursing while pg was exhausting more than anything. Weaning wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. Kudos to both of us for making it this long! It still kinda makes me sad though even though it was time for mama. My bbs are getting less and less full after each passing day which is a good thing. :) BTW: Do you want to post your stats again so I could add them?

So, how about some QOTD?:)

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib?

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? (I don't even know at what age this normally occurs).

To those of you pregnant with #2 (or those just thinking about it) and who do daycare, Do you plan to change your arrangements at all once there are 2 kids?

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance?

How is sleep in your house?

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now?

Enough?

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? I have thought about it, since baby #2 is on the way. Not sure what we are going to do. What age do you usually transition them?

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? (I don't even know at what age this normally occurs). Nope!

To those of you pregnant with #2 (or those just thinking about it) and who do daycare, Do you plan to change your arrangements at all once there are 2 kids? I stay at home, and hope to still stay at home with both.:D

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance? It is hard at times. When it is safe I let him be more indepentant.

How is sleep in your house? It is great. He takes a 1 1/2 nap during the day and sleeps from about 7:00pm to 6:30-7:30am.

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now? He is a picky eater. He doesn't eat much at lunch and dinner time it seems. I just keep trying to offer him things. Especially veggies. He doesn't really like to eat them. Only in the jars.

Great idea Beryl!

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? Yes, I have recently but I don't think it will be for quite a while.

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? I've thought about this too! But not sure if I should wait until the baby is here incase she goes backwards?

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance? It can be very hard to deal with sometimes, especially when the tantrums come out but we manage okay. :)

How is sleep in your house? It was great up until 2 days ago!! We put her in bed and she take about an hour (after she talks and sings to herself) to fall asleep. Interesting. I was thinking maybe this has something to do with being ready for a big bed? I really don't have a clue...

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now? Tahlia is a FANTASTIC eater. We really are lucky. She loves her vegies and will go for these over anything. She usually has whatever we have. No complaints. :)

Great idea on the questions!

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? Since our second is on the way I have definatley been thinking about it, looking around at beds. I have read that it usually is done anywhere from 18-36 months. Kinda hoping we can get Natalie into a bed when our next one arrives so we won't have to get a new crib!
To those of you pregnant with #2 (or those just thinking about it) and who do daycare, Do you plan to change your arrangements at all once there are 2 kids? We don't do daycare, my husband and I work opposite shifts ( me p/t in the mornings and him f/t in the afternoon/evenings.) We will keep this arrangement after the second baby arrives as well.

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? I've thought about this too! But not sure if I should wait until the baby is here incase she goes backwards? ~ Ditto what Melissa said!

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance? Natalie, I think, is doing pretty well. She has had her share of little tantrums when she can't have something, but they are normaly over quickly.

How is sleep in your house? This last month has been a little rough. She had a cold and was getting 2 of her big teeth in at the same time, so when she would cry DH would bring her into bed with me cause he felt bad for her. Now that her cold is gone and teeth in DH still does this cause now she will just cry/scream until he gets her. I love sleeping with my little girl, but I don't want this to become a habbit, but I guess it already has. I have mentioned we have to let her fall back asleep in her crib like we did when she was little, but he can't stand the crying. So hopefully soon he will let me "sleep train" her all over again, so we can get a full nights rest again!

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now? Mealtime is good, Natalie eats just about everything, unless she is being stubborn and picky. She does like just about everything, but sometimes if she just doesn't want it she wont eat it. So I try to give her a varitey of things so that she will get a good balance. She isn't a big eater either, well if you continue to give her food she will continue to eat it :) but I guess I mean she could go all day with just a yogurt, some fruit and her juice! If I'm busy and don't realize what time it is she would be perfectly content to go without lunch... She is exactly like DH though, he is the same exact way!

Since Dana posted some pics I thought I would post a few recent ones of Natalie! She loves playing in the tupperwear drawer, but what little one doesnt?? I looked over there a few days ago, and she had climbed into the drawer, pulled her blankie in and was giggeling! It was so cute, I had to take a pic before I told her she shouldn't be in there! :p

And here she is at DH's cousins house in their pool!

This is one of my recent favs. My dad likes to buy old cars and fix them up so he was showing us his "new" '34 Ford Truck, so we put Natalie in and she had a blast "driving" it! She had even grabbed onto the stickshift with one hand and the steering wheel with the other!

Well, MIL had Natalie for an overnight trip and just got home, so I'm going to pick up my little girl! Have a great night ladies!

Good questions!

[B]Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? I am not looking forward to that transition. I am hoping we have a while, cause I don't know how well Liam would do , I think he would get up all night and play.

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? (I don't even know at what age this normally occurs). Not really, yet. Hoping around 2 to 2 1/2 years old maybe??

To those of you pregnant with #2 (or those just thinking about it) and who do daycare, Do you plan to change your arrangements at all once there are 2 kids?

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance? He can be so difficult sometimes, I just try and have as much patience as humanly possible, and if he is not doing anything dangerous or bothering anyone else, I let it go.

How is sleep in your house? We are fortunate that sleep is really good here (knocks on wood!) He goes down around 7:30 and is up around 9:30 am (when I don't have to get him up for my days at school) I figure the extra sleeping is due to the crazy tantrums he throws and the insane amount of energy this child has:) He's gotta be tired after all that.

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now? It is ok, some days he eats everything, some days he is really picky, we figure it balances out in the end.

I suppose I should answer my own Qs:) It's fun to see how everyone else is doing - we have come so far!

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib?
Thinking about it, but I have no clue when this will actually happen. V seems very happy in his crib and hasn't ever tried to climb out or anything.

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? (I don't even know at what age this normally occurs).
Again, thinking about, but haven't done anything. V doesn't show any signs of readiness yet - doesn't indicate that he knows when he goes potty or when he needs to be changed. We do have an open door policy on the bathroom though so he knows what the toilet is and what it's for.

To those of you pregnant with #2 (or those just thinking about it) and who do daycare, Do you plan to change your arrangements at all once there are 2 kids?
This is a big issue for us even though we're not even TTC yet. We pay for full-time daycare right now and don't make enough money to justify full-time care for 2. But I really like the structure and interaction V gets from daycare. We're thinking now that V and sibling(s) will do some kind of part-time daycare and be home with Daddy part-time.

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance?
I have a much more difficult time with this than my husband does - I think because I'm a control freak. V definitely knows what he wants and doesn't want at this age. He says "yes" and "no", he "freezes if he doesn't want to go somewhere (stops walking ans sits down), etc. I try to re-direct and verbally explain things. I haven't yet lost my temper, but I sometimes feel frustrated which surprises me a bit. I wasn't ever spanked and we won't spank, and I hope that we can: be consistant, respond quickly, redirect, reason/explain, etc. so that we don't have to get into punishment. (my background is child development so I actually have a lot of thoughts on this stuff but don't know how it all actually works in the real world so laugh away:) ).

How is sleep in your house?
After many many nights of 3-4 nightwaking a night, I'm happy to say that sleep is wonderful in our house and has been since about June. We never did CIO or anything like that, but stuck to a routine and watched for sleep signals etc. V goes down about 7:30/8 on week nights and I wake him at 6:30 for school. On weekends, he goes down about 8/8:30 and sleeps till 7:45/8. He's down to one nap and at school it's 1-3 hours and at home 2-3 hours.

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now?
Again, this is great now too. V never really cared for "babyfood" even the stuff I made. He much prefered to eat regular food and feed himself. At this age, he eats pretty much anything - loves veggis, yogurt, fruit.

Kristine: Your daughter is adorable!! I remember her newborn pictures with those chubby cheeks...looks like she still has kissable/pinchable adorabe cheeks:)

Dana: Landen is a cutiepie as always:)

I'm going to try to find a recent picture of V to post. I'll probabably take it down after a day or two, but I know many of you haven't seen any picture other than his newborn picture.

Love those toddler pics of Natalie and Landen! Their newborn pics were adorable too of course but this is such a cute stage, isn't it? You can really see their personalities shine through.

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? Crib? What's that? We're still cosleeping but we're trying to figure out how to transition him out. Now that I'm no longer nursing, it might not be as difficult.

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? Not yet but he does tell us when he goes "poo poo!" I think that's one of the first signs, right?

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance?
Some days are harder than others because Brendan is so active. Overall we are doing well in this department.

How is sleep in your house? I'm the one having the most difficulty with sleep. I don't seem to ever get enough. I'm still early in my pregnancy but I'm already starting to get uncomfortable. I'm "conditioned" to wake up in the middle of the night, every night. Annoying!

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now?Brendan pretty much eats whatever we eat. He loves cheese, pasta, rice, and fruit but we try to give him a variety of things as much as possible.

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? Not yet...We'll keep Reagan in her crib as long as we can. Although, a friend of ours gave us a toddler bed, which is currently sitting in the garage.

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? (I don't even know at what age this normally occurs). I've thought about it (especially when buying clothes for next summer...no overalls/onesies), but I think we have awhile, yet. She still wakes up with wet diapers.

To those of you pregnant with #2 (or those just thinking about it) and who do daycare, Do you plan to change your arrangements at all once there are 2 kids?

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance? Overall, bugaboo is a great kid, but she does have her moments every so often. I try to remember that every parent goes through this stage.

How is sleep in your house? We have our bedtime routine, and Reagan is usually in bed by 8:30 and wakes up around 7:00. She's not a big fan of naps, but will still take one everyday.

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now? She LOVES to eat! We give her what we're eating for dinner and sometimes extra veggies. She loves Italian and Mexican food.

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? YES! Landen has slept in a TWIN bed since July, around 13.5 months old. He was used to our bed and he needed the extra room to roll around. It's going pretty well, sometimes he sleeps all night in there, but most of the time he wakes up once. (Keep in mind he never slept much in his crib though.)

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? YES! I've been thinking about getting LC a potty chair because he's been telling me "poo poo" for a few weeks now when he goes!! He tells me before and as he's going so thats even better than afterwards. Last night he told me that in the tub but I thought maybe he was saying "people" instead, for his little person he was playing with, but I found out later he meant "poo poo"! LOL

To those of you pregnant with #2 (or those just thinking about it) and who do daycare, Do you plan to change your arrangements at all once there are 2 kids? Well, I'm a SAHM right now but will probably have to get a job if we have another! ;) LOL JK, we are holding off on #2 for awhile.

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance? Hmm, no problems so far. I love that he's able to feed himself and keep himself busy, etc.

How is sleep in your house? Pretty good. Landen sleeps about 11 hours at night 9p to 8a typically, and 2 to 3 hours for his afternoon nap.

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now? Landen is a GREAT eater! So far he will eat practically anything. I can't even think of anything that he won't eat. He's not a pig though, he's just a really good eater. Since his molars came in, I've been less leary about giving him stuff because he does chew things now. He love any cracker/cookie/cereal, cottage cheese, sliced cheese, yogurt, bananas, canned fruit, canned veggies or fresh like broccoli but I don't cook fresh ones that much ;), lunchmeat, hot dogs (turkey dogs), bologna, small pieces of chicken, hamburger, or turkey from our meals, oatmeal, and any Gerber graduates stuff. The pasta pick ups are great, and he likes all the different meals.

Hi everyone! With this second pregnancy, I have a horrible case of insomnia. I wake up every night without fail between 1-3:00am.

How was Halloween with your toddler? Brendan had a total blast trick-or-treating! He was dressed up in a Univ of Michigan football jersey by day and a pumpkin by night. After going to a few houses in our neighborhood, he got the hang of it and literally ran up to each house saying "trick-or-treat!" He was also very good about saying "thank you" and taking only one piece of candy whenever a bucket was presented to him. What a sweetie!

Okay I guess I should try going back to bed. Hope everyone and their babies are doing well!

Gee, it has been quiet in here!

I've been having quite a hard time with one of my wisdom teeth coming through. Grrr, it's so achy and very swollen. I have to admit that I think it's getting better. I am trying to avoid the dentist at all costs.
My belly is starting to look very, very big now. I am in maternity clothes all the time and people in the street are starting to ask me when I'm due! :) I am also feeling lots of little movements!! All's great.
Tahlia has learned how to climb onto the couch so we have a new challenge. It's all in good fun. :)
The weather here has been so humid the last few days and the weather people are saying that this is going to be one of the hottest ever summers in Australia. I really don't like the heat, bring on the thunderstorms!!! ;)

Sue - What a pain about the insomnia! We don't do alot for halloween here but this year we got more than usual trick or treaters, so many so that we ran out of lollies very quickly. Glad to hear that Brendan had a good time. I'll bet he looked adorable! :)

Better go and get my kiddo dressed. She's got a new tshirt that says 'drama queen' on it... fits her personality to a T! ;)

Hi Mommies!!! Such a long time...I've been keeping up with the thread but haven't had the time to write.

I'm so jealous of those that are expecting again. I so badly want another baby but realistically we just can't afford it.

All is well here. The Mad Hatter is a total animal. She finally started to cut teeth after turning a year old. She currently has 7 for sure and possibly 2 molars working. She is VERY mean when cutting teeth. The mad hatter is still very petite and maybe weighs 22 pounds. She has her 18 mth check up in two weeks.

Halloween was super fun for her. DH decorated the outside quite fun this year and Mads LOVED it. Trick or treating was quite the experience. We only went to houses where we knew the people. And because she figured out that candy was involved, we had a sticky return home. SO funny it was.

DH made it home safe and sound after being gone 5 months. Of course Madi and I had a routine and she was very happy to have me all to herself. DH has been home almost a month and Madi still prefers me to him. He's good to wrestle and play with, but Mom can do everything else.

Have any of you made the transition or begun thinking about the transition out of the crib? We have thought about this and will maybe do something this time next year.

Anyone thought about moving away from diapers/toilet training? We are going to buy a potty to keep in the bathroom. She knows what the potty is for and likes to flush. We also have an open door policy about the bathroom, but lately DH can't tinkle because Madi will look at him like she's expecting some big thing to happen. He thinks maybe putting a potty in the bathroom and then he sits to potty, maybe she'll mimic.

How have you dealt with your child's emerging sense of independance?
Mads is VERY independent. We let her do everything herself unless she gets really frustrated with something. When that happens, we do whatever she is trying to do very slow so that she can see. AND we've been the family to pack up mid-dinner and leave a restaurant.

How is sleep in your house? It's OK for the most part. Madi goes to bed about the same time without much fuss. She starts to slowly wake around 5am and will cry in her sleep. Of course DH and I both bolt out of bed and run to her room only to see her all snuggled up and sleeping soundly.

How is mealtime? What is your kid eating now? Madi is certainly not a fussy eater. She'll try anything. She does like to eat at the table like a big girl but since we don't have a booster, that means sitting in my lap. She'll eat from her plate and mine. If I have something different, she'll point to it to let me know she wants a bite. And she will eat all day if I let her. And not junk food. And the child likes spinach in a can....right from the can.

What time do you put your toddler's to bed? And what time do they wake up?

Also, Did the time change affect their waking up time?

TJ goes to bed at around 8:30pm and wakes at around 8:30am. Daylight savings didn't change her wake up time but her bedtime! She just wants to sing and talk to herself for about 1/2 an hour before she drops off.

Natalie usually goes to bed between 730p-8p depending on how long she wants to be in the bath... She normally wakes up between 7a-8a, but she isn't on that great of schedule so it varries a lot. If she wakes up before 7a, if we bring her into bed with us she will normally go back to sleep and sometimes sleep to 8 or 9, which is nice.
So we are thinking of getting Natalie a toddler bed, mostly because we will be needing her crib pretty soon. But I think she likes the freedom of a regular bed thus sleeping longer in the am's if she is with us, so I think that might help as well. I have been looking at this one from the Babycenter.com website that I am in love with.
http://store.babycenter.com/MEDIA/ProductCatalog/26881_201474_md.jpg
It is a little pricy (on sale right now for 159.99) but you can convert it into a headboard and footboard for a full size bed, so that gives it some more use. It also comes with 2 railings so you can completly close baby in to start with, which I really like.
Have any of you ladies been shopping around or thinking about toddler beds??

I know I'm a little late, but here are a few pictures of Natalie at Halloween! This was her first year to dress up and trick or treat, but she had the most fun staying at home and watching all the kids come to our door! She still has the stranger anxiety so as soon as we went to a house and someone answered the door she would hide behind my leg!
This pic was taken at home at the end of the night. I fell in love with the slippers that seemed to match her costume perfectly (we got the costume at Costco and the slippers online at OneStepAhead)!
http://images.snapfish.com/3454%3B%3B9923232%7Ffp64%3Dot%3E2327%3D%3A83%3D79% 3C%3DXROQDF%3E2323%3B%3A6%3B3%3B%3B%3C8ot1lsi

Landen goes to bed between 8 and 9p, depending on when he got up from his nap, and sleeps until 7:30 to 8:30a usually. His schedule the same everyday, it just varies based on his sleeping. If he sleeps in, his nap is a bit later and bedtime a bit later, but then if he gets up a bit earlier, he naps earlier and goes to bed a big earlier. Generally he sleeps 11 hours at night, and 2 during his nap, which I just read is normal for 17 months old.

Kristine & Dana, Just love those adorable Halloween pictures! Unfortunately Brendan was so busy and excited to wear his Halloween costume that he wouldn't sit still for a picture. The ones we got were "action" shots so they came out blurry. We are still planning on putting him back in his costume though. :)

This second pregnancy is beating me up pretty badly. I remember being very sick during my first pregnancy but in some ways I think this one is worse...or maybe I just forgot what it was like! I battle m/s everyday, morning, afternoon, and night. I know it will be so worth it at the end but I'm exhausted! Plus I'm craving awful foods this time.

QOTD: I think Brendan probably sleeps less than all the toddlers here. He goes to sleep about 9:00pm and gets up at 7:00am. He only takes about an hour nap (1.5 hours at the most) during the day. That means he sleeps about 11 hours total. I hope that's okay and it's not affecting his brain development or something crazy like that! He is generally happy all day and so incredibly smart. I guess I shouldn't worry so much but I do wish he would sleep more than he does.

What are everyone's plans for Thanksgiving?

kristine80

Thanks for the compliments on Natalie's halloween pics! She wouldn't be still either so I have tons of bad shots. Thank goodness for digital cameras! :D

Forgot to add, that Natalie hasn't been taking many naps lately! Maybe once or twice a week will she actually nap and then she has to be VERY tired or in the car long enough to fall asleep and very tired. When she does nap its normally from 1-2 hrs...

Sue~ I agree with you about the 2nd pg being harder... I have to admit thought that with Natalie I was pretty lucky and had a rather simple pregnancy with no m/s... This time around, totally different story! Bad m/s untill about 12wks, then shortly after that stopped I started having problems with my sciatic nerve that have yet to go away! :( I have tried lots of streches but they don't seem to help that much, Tylenol doesn't do anything either, and normally when it acts up, my lower back is really sore and achy to boot!

For Thanksgiving we always go to our friends house where they have a big celebration! Both my parents and DH's dad all live out of town and until MIL moved here in June we had no family so it has always been a tradition to go to their house. Of course this year MIL will join us and she has been a few other times when she could make it, but is mostly friends that they have over since their fam is out of town too, so it's always a fun night!

Well Natalie is calling my attention. Hope you ladies have a great day!

Hey Guys Its me Amanda! I havent talked to you ladies in sooooooo long, and some new ones too. I am Colinsmommy2004 from WC, I noticed all of you dont post there anymore so I followed you guys here! Things are so good right now for us. Colin is 18 months old, 25 Pounds, 33 1/4 inches, eating everything and talking up a storm! He doesnt have bottles during the day but he does have one before bed at night, he loves to drink his milk out of a regular cup, not a sippy. He WILL NOT drink milk out of a sippy, only a baba or a regular big boy cup, just a little info for people who cant get there kids to drink milk now. WOw, so much to catch up on, I dont think Im going to answer all the questions, but.....here are a couple answers to some questions I can remember people asking.....Colin is still in his crib, I am 23 weeks PG now With ANOTHERBOOOOOYYY! We saw him on 4 d US at our 20 week and he was sooo cute, looks alot like Colin did. We are going to prolly get him in his toddler bed In the next few months, his crib converts into a toddler bed and my sister is giving us hers so we can put the new little guy in it. I am due March 25 and I have gained like 5 pounds I think now. Maybe less, I lost weight in the beginning and have just gained a few so, I havent really kept track. I am feeling huge, he moves all the time, mostly in my lower left side. Colin always goes up to me saying "Bebe", and lifts my shirt, it is so cute. I just hope he loves his little brother....I am really scared of having another one cause I am scared of not bonding with him like Colin. I love my little man sooooooooooo much and I cannot imagine having so much love for this next one. We are thinking his name will be Owen Bradley, with the Bradley being my dads name. But I am open for sugggestions. I am lost on the name thing.

I am still in Nursing school and am going to be a SAHM still, I wont work till the kids go to school. Our new house we built is really nice, I have to get pics on here, I still dont have Internet at home, I am at Ryans office right now supposed to be studying....But I do miss you guys! All the kids are so damn cute!\
Dana, I got an email with landens pics, OMG he is soooooooooooooooo cute, and such a little man!!!

well, I have to go, I will try and get on again really soon, maybe even check while I am studying.....Bye girls!

Amanda, Congrats on baby boy #2 and the new house! If I'm not mistaken, I think you are the furthest along in your pregnancy than the rest of the May 2004 mommies here(several of us are pg with #2!). I'm very excited for you. Oh and I think Owen Bradley is a very nice name! :)

Brendan had his 18-mo doc visit today. He was not happy about his shots as expected! He is on the thin side (5th percentile) but he is tall (75th percentile). Baby B is a pretty good eater but I think he is so active that he just burns those calories right off!

We are having a quiet Thanksgiving at home which is nice. We were going to have a few friends over but now it's just going to be the three of us. I'm looking forward to it.

So what are you all thinking of getting for your toddler for Christmas?

Hello Ladies!
I just wanted to stop by and tell you guys about this program I just heard about.. Have any of you heard about the W.H.A.L.E. program?

"The W.H.A.L.E (We Have A Little Emergency) kits provide emergency health information for your child when you can’t. Designed to aid rescue personnel in the event of an automobile accident that incapacitates the adult driver and passengers, the kit includes an emergency label for the back of a car seat, and W.H.A.L.E. stickers for the rear windows of your car."

A co-worker just left me a kit in my locker the other day and I thought it sounded wonderful and thought I would pass the info about it along to you ladies... By doing a quick search on the 'net I found some that some local places carry these for free depending on where you live. But I also found this website Fingerprint America (http://www.fingerprintamerica.com/s_whale.asp) that sells them for just 1 dollar per kit. Like I said, I thought this was a great idea and could give us moms a little peace of mind when out on the road or when our little ones are with caretakers or family...
Just thought I would share! Have a great day ladies and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Hey Amanda! Good to see you back around here! When is your due date for your next little boy?? Sounds like we are pretty close, I am due March 11th with another girl! :) We just ordered a toddler bed for Natalie and are going to try and tranisition her into that soon as well. I totally understand what you mean about bonding with this next baby! I just can't imagine being able to love another little one SOOOO much, like I do with Natalie, but I know its gotta be possible...

Sue~ I have been thinking about Christmas gifts lately as well too and found a few I am excited to get for her! MIL and I were at Costco yesterday and I saw these 2 things that I want to go back and get for her.
I have seen this around and heard many wonderful reviews on it. They had it on display last night at Costco and Natalie loved it! It's the LeapFrog Learning Table, and it's normally about $45 but Costco had it for $32.99!
http://www.leapfrog.com/content/product_images/4learntable1.jpg
I saw this little chair and fell in love with it! Since we will be moving Natalie into a bigger room when the baby comes we get to redecorate and thought this would be a nice addition for her new room! She loves sitting in chairs that are just her size, so I'm sure she would love it! It's a pink chenille rocker with ottoman for $79.99.
http://www.costco.com/Images/Content/Product/933577L.jpg

I can totally see how this can get out of hand... There are so many things I want to get her! :p I think we will just get her a few more small things and maybe some clothes, and then just stocking stuffers as well.

Hi all!
It's been a while since I checked in.
Glad to hear everyone that is expecting #2 is doing well. Sounds like it is getting a lot closer for a few of you! I can't even imagine having another one right now, but maybe when life settles down a little next year we will start thinking about it:)
Liam is doing well. He just got over a month of various illnesses. Two bouts of diarrhea for my normally constipated child and then a bad cold last week. His appetite was non-existant for 4 or 5 days, but seems to be coming back. He didn't gain any weight from 15 months to 18 (50% down to <25%) and the loss of appetite certainly won't help, but he seems fine and looks healthy, so no worries.

Amanda Love the name Owen Bradley, especially since Owen is Liam's middle name. (Liam is actually short for WilLIAM)

Finally got some molars in, I thought they would never appear!

I am getting very excited about the holidays. We got Liam a little people animals friends set, a little patio table and chairs just for him, some clothes and books, and I still want to get him something to climb on out in the yard.

Kristine Love that chair! Wish we had room for one like it in Liams room, but his room (and the rest of the house) is small and cramped already:rolleyes:

We went and saw the Wiggles Live last night. It was a really fun show, Liam had a blast. The funniest thing was watching and listening to all the parents singing and doing the dances too! I highly recommend going to see them if your kids like them and they come to your town.

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving. We are making the rounds of grandparents houses, so it will be a busy one here:)

Here is the latest pic of my crazy little man

Hey all!

Sue: dont I wish I were the furthest along, I guess I am 23 weeks, I just calculated, I have lost track, no time to even think about it. I am due March 25, hopefully this little guy will come sooner.

Kristine: So it is an emergency kit like the ones you have for houses for animals? To let people know there is a baby on board? If so, sounds like a great idea to me. Congrats on the new baby girl! We are having another boy, we are so excited, I cant imagine having a girl now, I love my two little guys so much, oh, and my big one. :) That chair is so dang cute! Colin got the leapfrog table for Xmas last year, he still plays with it a bit, but I think he is getting bored with it now, But it is a good thing to have, especially for the next one!

We were supposed to do thanksgiving at our house, but it will now be at my mom and dads house, just us and my sister and her hubby and my nephews, and neice. We wil be having Xmas at our house! YAY! I cant wait, this year is coming to an end so quickly.....

Amanda: He is so cute! What a little ham! He has tons of hair like Colin too! except his is brown. I think it is going to be Owen Bradley, or Logan Bradley. What does everyone think,?? Im confused!

Well, as fatr as presents for christmas goes, so far I have some backyardigans Pj sets, a cute lil nike sweat suit, a "Im a big brother Book", and we will be getting him a Powerwheels John Deere Tractor with the pull along cart on the back. the neighbor boy next to us has one, and Colin LOVES it. He is going to have a blast next summer with it. Ryan says we HAVE to get it for him, but I think it may be fullfilling a passion of his ;)really.
I also want to get him play food and little utensils, since he loves to play with my stuff and Pretend to make food, it is sooooooo cute! And oh yes, I was gonna ask...Colin LOVES blues clues, and he has a chip clip which he pretends is the "handy dandy Kazoo" from the musical blues tape we have. I cannot find one, I feel bad and want to get him one since he loves it so much, i think he would die to have one. If any of you know what I am tralking about, do you know where I can find one, or even just a little kids kazoo??? Lemme KNow!

Well, GTG, I have a Anatomy Test in a bit and I have to get to class, I m on the schools computer in the lab writing! :)

Hey Amanda! The kit just comes with 5 stickers, 2 small squares that go on the side of the car seat, 2 static stickers that go on your cars rear window, and 1 sticker that you fill out with babys name, medical info, yours and DH's phone numbers and work numbers, and then there is 2 lines for additional guardians to call. You put it on the back of the car seat so strangers cant see it by just looking in the window. So that in case you are unable to communicate with the medics or officers they can reach someone and treat the child properly if they have any medical conditions or allergys... When I did a search on the program I found a few websites where it tells of specific incidents where it was really helpful in treating the child and getting another parent or guardian out there with them.... I thought it was pretty cool... :)

Just thought I would ask if you could keep Tahlia in your thoughts and prayers. She had a seizure on Friday (as well as another in January) and they have been classified as being 'grand mal' seizures. There doesn't seem to be a trigger that is obvious. It is very scary to go through something like this. One minute she was throwing a tantrum over something and the next she was at my feet jerking and shaking uncontollably. Her eyes rolled up and her tongue was clicking. You never want to see that. We went to hospital and they were great with her. Tahlia was happy in there and the docs spoiled her with Wiggles and lollies. Just wanted to let you know...

Our big scan is scheduled for December 10 and it could be in 4D!

Better go, my mum is coming down today to stay for a night. Take care all.

I have so much to catch up on!!!
I hate to admit it, but I totally forgot about checking any of the boards after I went back to work (uh.... last July!) and it wasn't until I got this strange email in my inbox that I realized that I hadn't checked up on my other May mommies in a really long time!! (BTW, Thanks for the bump on the WC thread Angela!)

I can't beleive that some of you are pregnant again and so far along! I really long to be pregnant again, but we've had a lot of changes this year and we need to wait until things settle down before that happens again. Both DH & I lost our jobs, me back in April and DH last week, so he needs to find another job before we can think about having another one.

Morgan is so big now! (Even though she's still really small on the charts, only in the 3rd percentile, but not bad for a preemie, right? ;) ) I wish I had recent pics of her to share, but they're all at home and in the camera. I'm such a bad Mommy!

Anyway, I just wanted to post, say hi and I'll try to catch up on everything that has happened to everyone!

It's so good to "see" you all again! Can't wait to get back into talking!

Hi ladies!!!!!!!! It's Angela, Olivia's Mommy :-) I've missed you all so much! I just happened to try to find our thread in WC and saw Sue's message about this message board so I decided to come on here and find you all. I'm so glad that I did!

Congrats to all of you who are pregnant! (and Amanda I owe you a phone call!)

Olivia is doing so well. She's such a little lady. She LOVES animals. She's continuously grabbing the kitty and the doggie and giving them hugs. She chatters a lot now too although there are only a few words we can really recognize. It's amazing that she's already almost 18 months old.

I'm glad you all have been talking about when to transition from the crib to a toddler bed. We moved to Cincinnati and our things were all in temporary storage, including her crib. So Olivia has slept in the pack n play for a while now and when we finally got our crib back she tried to crawl out of it! So we decided that rather than have an accident happen we would allow her to sleep in her pack n play until she's old enough to sleep on a toddler bed. My Dad has been giving me SUCH a hard time about this because he bought the crib and he says we're being silly for not allowing her to sleep in it. But we'd rather be too precautious than have her fall on her head! So we're really looking forward to transitioning her to the toddler bed since the crib converts to one.

We bought a new house on 10 acres of land about 30 miles outside of Cinci and are just starting to feel settled in now. We're excited about having so much land for Olivia to play on as she's growing up.

Anthony and I had talked last year about TTC in December but with buying a new house, having new jobs and everything that has been going on, we figure we would be crazy to add another life moment into the mix. So we're trying to wait a little while longer. I tell ya though, hearing about all of you who are pregnant makes me really really anxious to have another little one! I can't imagine loving another baby as much as I love Olivia. Our lives have been changed so much since she came into them. We smile more, we laugh more, and we have more love in our home because of this little person who brings so much joy into our lives.

Wow, there is so much to catch up on around here but I don't think I will be able to do it justice given that I'm still at work. Work is kicking me in the butt right now and it's driving me bonkers. Anyways.....I do want to say a big hello though to all of you especially all the May mommies we haven't heard from in a while...Angie, Jennie, Amanda...I'm so glad you made your way back here!

Amanda & Angie, Liam and Olivia are precious! Liam looks like an older version of himself(so cute!) but Olivia looks totally different from her baby pictures! Isn't it funny how they change?

Angie, by the way, I remember going to Olive Garden with you and Amanda a few years ago when we were pregnant and I ate like a horse! I craved Olive Garden's salad and bread sticks all the time during my first pregnancy and this second one isn't any different!

Kristine: We have the Leap pad table and Brendan loves it! It was on sale at Toys-R-Us for 19.99. I'm not sure if it was a Thanksgiving sale only but you might want to check it out.

Somehow I missed that post about Tahlia the other day. Poor little girl! She is in my thoughts and prayers. I can imagine that must have been horribly scary for you.

Sue, I told Anthony a few days ago that I had met up with you all again online and he asked how you were doing and said to send his congrats out to all of you who are pregnant again. :-) And then he said we need to start trying after Christmas :-o
I know what you mean about Olivia looking totally different from her baby pictures! She's become a little blondie! She looks a lot like her Daddy's baby pictures.

I honestly don't know how we'll afford daycare for the next baby. For Olivia, I was fortunate to be able to work from home at least a few days during the week. With my new job though, they aren't allowing anyone to work from home which really stinks. I wish there were some law where working mothers could work a 3 or 4 day week and get paid for 5 :-)

Olivia's newest thing now is stirring. She watched me make scrambled eggs last week and ever since then she's been taking a little plastic spatula and stirring in her little plastic baseball cap that she uses as a bowel. It's so funny because she can be content sitting there for a half hour just stirring! She's also starting to climb on EVERYTHING lately. She has a little rocking horse that she can finally climb on but she has no interest in 'riding' the horse. She just wants to climb on and then climb right back off again.

I found all of you!

Hopefully you remember me,
name: michelle
baby: kai
dob: 5/18/04

i qiuckly caught up with everyone and all our toddlers! amazing how big our babies have grown.

congrats to all with #2's on the way! i'm thinking next year we'll start TTC #2.
and Stumbles, I hope Tahlia is okay! poor little thing :(

i'm still working while Kai just started daycare 3 weeks ago. (DH was SAHD for a year, by choice, then finally found a new job he loves). i commute to work with the little guy, he does okay. he transitioned to daycare well at first, but now he seems to realize what's going on and cries a little as we approach the building. he was crying so hard yesterday that he made me cry :( we're both adjusting i guess! otherwise he does have fun at daycare and is enjoying all the activities, especially art and music. one amazing thing, after lunch, he walks over to his napping cot and goes to sleep on his own, w/o prompting! he never does that at home!

one unfortunate even happened a couple months ago. he was walking on the couch (a big no-no), fell off and broke his arm  we called 911 right after it happened, and he was immediately rushed to the nearest children's hospital. initally it was really scary but once the bones were set (both bones in lower arm were fractured) and casted, he never complained. he wore the cast for 4 weeks and is now as good as new. they said because he's growing so fast, by next year in an xray, you'd never know he broke his arm. so...beware!!! kids fall all the time, but bones do break! i still get paranoid, but you can only do so much.

anyways, don't want to blab on too much. but one thing i'd be interested to hear from all of you...what do you feed your toddlers? kai is soooo picky these days. iron sources in particular are hard to find. it's especially hard to find something he'll eat at lunch during daycare, before when he was home, we knew exactly how much he was eating, etc.

well, time to pick up my cutie at his school! look forward to catching up some more with you all!! :D

Melissa, I totally missed your post about Tahlia too. I'm sorry, I've been so scatter brained lately that I just rush through everything and miss important details. I hope that she is doing okay. What a scare! Please give her lots of hugs and healthy wishes from us all! We're thinking of you!

mochi(Michelle) Of course we remember you! I'm glad you made your way here! I've been horrible about doing updates on the first page but I will need to do so soon. I love seeing you all here and getting updates. Isn't it amazing that a lot of us here went through all our trimesters together and now we're raising toddlers? It's crazy! I'm sorry to hear that Kai broke his arm, poor guy! Oh by the way, I love the fact that daycare has put Brendan on such a great schedule including sleep. Brendan does things there that he never does at home which is sleep without prompting!

QOTD: Brendan's favorite foods include cheese, green beans, corn, certain breads (right now he loves the apple strudel bread we bought at Costco), pasta (huge pasta fan), rice, chicken, pizza, and fruit. More than anything, he likes to play with his food!

Hi Michelle! It's great to hear from you! I'm so sorry about little Kai. It's so scary with toddlers because they're fearless about so many things and just don't realize that they can get hurt. Olivia is crawling on everything now. Just the other day I looked over at her and she was standing on top of the kitchen chair, smiling at me. I quickly told her no and rushed over to get her. Of course she thought it was funny  We've been lucky so far that she hasn't fallen and seriously hurt herself. I worry more about her at daycare because she's going to an at-home daycare place and the daycare lady kept telling us when we first started going there about a month ago that children fall and Olivia would fall. I understand that but I told her that Olivia still had no CONCEPT of falling so we'd appreciate it if the daycare lady would watch out for that.

QOTD Olivia loves fruit. We feed her chopped up pieces of fruit cocktail, mandarin oranges, and bananas. She also loves oyster crackers, breaded chicken patties, and peas. Our biggest problem lately has been trying to feed her more veggies because she's becoming very particular about what she will and will not eat. Also tomato based foods give her diaper rash so we stay away from things with tomato in them.

We think the daycare lady is feeding her WAY too much because we've noticed considerable weight gain with her over the last month or so. The daycare lady told me that yesterday Olivia ate (at lunch) a banana, cheese, 4 chicken nuggets, and apples. I didn't ask her if it was a whole banana, but if it were, that just seems like way too much food for a little toddler considering their stomachs are only about the size of their fist!

Thanks for the well wishes, guys! I really appreciate them. :) Tahlia is soldiering on though. She is truly a little trooper. It's so nice to see some old faces in here again! :)
Mochi - So sorry to hear about Kai's broken arm!! Tahlia does the same thing, walking along the couch. She know's it's naughty too!
Can't chat for long, DH is taking us out for dinner. It's a celebration for his new job and for me reaching 20 weeks today! My gosh this pregnancy is flying! :)
Take care all! :) :)

The leap frog barn animals set (one with magnets that can attach to refrigerator)

An electronic (child's) keyboard)

A shopping cart

Elmo phone

Musical bell type toy

A baby doll that giggles

baby doodle (like etcha sketch)

........ I know we may have bought more gifts but that's all I can think of right now! Target had some unbelievable prices on their toys!

Hee hee, thanks Sue! Still sinking in a little I think! :) Tahlia loved helping to put up the tree, I have to get some cute photos infront of it now! She's only touched it a few times, I think having some decorations just for her has helped a little.

We had her EEG today and it went smoothly. The technician said she got some good recordings and that now a neurologist that specialises in children's brains will be examining it. We'll know the results and hopefully a diagnosis in about a week. Tahlia was so good. She sat still for 40 minutes just watching Boohbah, (thank goodness for portable DVD players!)

hey all! Just studying for my finals and I decided to see hwo things are going with everyone. I am 26 weeks PG now and feeling gigantic. Wow, this PG is sooo much different than with Colin. man o man, my belly is popped out right in front, so none of my clothes fit right, I had to go and get some clothes, ugh, so I can feel comfortable. I havent gained any weight, maybe two or three pounds cause I havent had any appetite and when I do I get such bad heartburn that I stop. Ahh. I am starting to eat better though, I know it is important for our little guys health as well as mine. Speaking of our new little guy, we have decided on

Logan bradley Or
Andrew Bradley

Andrew is ryans dads middle name and Bradley is my dads name. So, we dont know for sure though, I love the name Drew though....What do you all think.....??

We have been getting soooooo much snow, it hasnt stopped in a while, its so pretty outside, Colin just loves to play out in it and help Ryan to snow blow in the mornings, he has an absolute blast.

I also have another question before I have to run.....We just painted Colins room a really cool green color and I am looking to transfer his crib to a toddler or even buy a twin size mattress and I want to change his whole motif. The only place I have found a nice bedding selection is Pottery barn kids which is really expensive. Since most of you are online all the time, or more than me atleast, i was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere to look for bedding...or have any suggestions.....even in stores.....thanks!!

I am so sorry stumbles about thalia, I hope you find out what is going on....though I have read that infants and toddlers have seisures sometimes and you dont even know it, and that they are more common than we all think....SCARY!

well more so's later....gtg study!!!!

Amanda I love the name Logan Bradley! Gosh i can't believe you've only gained 3 lbs so far! I think by 26 weeks at my last pregnancy I gained... I don't even want to say!

DH and I had a feud over New Year's. He wants to get pregnant now. I want to wait another 6+ months until I can save up enough leave that I won't have to take leave without pay (because we can't afford to be without my paychecks). He says our children NEED to be no more than 2 years apart. Although that would be ideal, I'm still hung up on wanting to have more time off! Also I think we should have more of a savings and be a little more comfortable before starting to try again. I guess bottom line is that I'm just not ready. Anthony was furious with me, said that I always make the decisions and that it needs to be a decision by both of us. But if I give into him and say yes even though I don't want to, it is still not going to be a decision that we BOTH agreed on. It's been frustrating lately because I'd love to be pregnant again more than anything. I just want to be a little more prepared in the best interest of our children.

Hello everyone! I've been MIA because I have been crazy busy especially the past month. It's pretty sad b/c I think I say that everytime! I like working outside the home but some days are so hard especially when one is pregnant!

The other reason I haven't been around much is that I had my quad screening test done and discovered that I had a very elevated risk of having a baby with Down Syndrome. We were given an estimated risk of 1:9. Hubby and I were worried sick as you can imagine. I ended up getting the amnio done (not fun by the way) and had to wait two long weeks to get the results. Fortunately, we just found out last night that everything looks great with baby # 2 and he doesn't have Down Syndrome, Trisomy 18, or Spina Bifida. And yes it is another "HE" as it was confirmed definitively through the amnio! No names picked out yet though. My usual unpicky hubby is very picky when it comes to names. I must have run through a list of 30 names last night and he didn't like any of them!

Hope everyone is doing well. I'll check in more often now that I feel I can breathe again and enjoy this pregnancy!

Hi Mom's-

I've been missing you guys like crazy and wanted to bump this up to see how everyone is doing.

The Mad Hatter is growing like a weed and cute as ever.

Also, we are TTC for #2. As of this past weekend.

I hope everyone is doing well and those that were expecting late last year are doing well.

Hello everyone! I missed everyone too! It's weird because I was just thinking of you all this morning and wondering how things were going. It was a nice surprise to see that this thread got a little bump!

Life has been very busy for us. I'm getting increasingly uncomfortable now that I'm nearing the third trimester but life is good. I am extremely extremely busy at work right now but I try to spend as much quality time with Brendan as I can. Brendan makes us so proud! He is such an active, verbal little boy and soooo sweet, too! It's so cute because he loves to sing and "read" to us. Of course he doesn't truly understand this yet but he is very excited about his baby brother! He rubs my belly every night and kisses it. He also proudly tells everyone he is having a baby brother. So adorable!

I hope everyone is doing well. Keep us posted!

Didn't even see this thread get bumped until now!

We are doing really good. I am nearly finished with nursing school, DH is nearly finished with MBA school, and Liam is growing and doing great. He started daycare 2 months ago and has transitioned really well. He is capable of so much more than i ever imagined. He sleeps on a mat, sits in his chair like a big boy, cleans up his messes and is super sweet.
He now says so much, including "I love jou mommy" It's the best! He also says "I sorry" if he thinks he hurt us or bumped into us, "bless jou" if we sneeze or cough, and is really good about saying please and thank you.
It is so cool to watch him grow and learn:D
We won't be TTC #2 for another year or so. DH just started a new job closer to home and I would like to graduate and work a little while first. We also need a bigger house since we are packed full in our current one.

Hope everyone is doing good. Would love to hear how those pregnant with #2 are doing and about Tahlia's EEG from a while ago.

We're doing well here. Ruby is gorgeous at times and a monster at others, typical toddler!

Pregnancy wise I will be 33 weeks tomorrow but nearly had her last Wednesday when I went into preterm labour. They stopped it, I spent 5 nights in hospital, and I have been home taking it easy since Monday.

She could come anytime now (because I have a unicornuate uterus, smaller than a normal one) but we are hoping she bakes as long as possible of course. We made it to just over 31 weeks with Ruby so we are looking forward to having a bigger baby this time, and hopefully, just hopefully, one we can take home with us (Ruby spent 52 days in hospital).

I know Tahlia, Melissa's (stumbles) girl is doing well, her EEG came back clear, yay!!! Melissa is booked for a ERC on 12 April to have her little boy. I will try and guilt her into posting here asap, she is being a slacko of late. :D

It's so exciting to hear that you are all doing well!!! And those with #2 on the way are SO close. I'm so glad Tahlia is OK. What a scary time for them.

We are still not pg yet. We seem to have NO time to BD. The Mad Hatter has been sick on and off since mid-January. Either with a cold, flu or the nasty intestinal thing that is now going around. Plus she's been cutting some teeth and has the runny nose and cough. UGH!!

She's talking more but definitely not as well as some others her age. She is very smart tho and we have to be careful what we do around her. She loves to help cook and do dishes. She knows to push the chair to the sink and gets up on it. It's all rather sweet. When we tell her it's bath time, she'll start to strip down and will crawl into the tub and sit there until we run the water. Her potty is underneath the light switch, so she'll stand on the potty and turn the light on first.

We are still having some issues with her eating with utensils. She gets a bit frustrated and uses her hands. Regardless of what is for dinner, mine must taste better...even tho it's the same thing she's eating. I have to share my dinner as well as my fork and my water (of which she has the exact same thing, just mad hatter size). I just love it tho.

Bedtime has finally found a routine and she's out by 8:30-9pm instead of 10-10:30pm. And sleeps through until about 6:45am when we wake her. She will sleep later on the weekends. Thank goodness!!!

Potty training.....anyone getting started? Any tricks/tips that are working?

Just a quick post to let you all know that Natalie's little sister Julia Isabelle was born on March 12th at 958pm weighing 8lb 7oz an 20.5 in long! Natalie LOVES her sister and holds and kisses her as much as possible! I am quite relieved with how she is reacting to the new addition ;)
Here is a pic of Julia

Things around the house with two are eaiser than I thought, but Natalie is definatley starting her terrible twos early! She doesn't listen very well and likes to throw little tantrums when she doesn't get what she wants! But luckily they don't last much longer than 30 seconds...

On potty training~ We bought Nat a little potty seat about a month ago and she is getting accustomed to it. She just started saying poop after she goes in her diaper, so that is a good sign of awareness, to me at least ;) And she will sit on her potty when I or hubby go into the bathroom, so hopefully it's just around the corner for us!

Well, the girls are calling for lunch, so I gotta get going.. Good luck to the other moms with number 2 on the way and yay for Talihas EEG results! :)

KRISTINE!!!!!! Congratulations on Julia!! She is just as gorgeous as Natalie. You must be so proud!

Was delivery of Julia any different for you than Natalie?

I've got the baby bug something terrible, but we are so busy that by the time the mad hatter goes to bed, we are following behind totally exhausted. Plus we are getting ready for the in-laws to move in. that should be in the next couple months. I'm hoping to be pregnant by then. We'll see.

Thanks MrsS! Everything about Julia has been different! The pregnancy was much harder on me than Natalie's. Natalie was really easy though, no m/s or much of anything other than a growing belly ;) Julia's was a bit more difficult, m/s till about 16wks, then as soon as that ended I started having problems with my sciatic nerve which lasted till the end! :( I was WAY more emotional as well and had a few other issues, nothing major, but wearing on me especially since I had Natalie to chase after on top of it! Delivery with Julia was great! I started having contractions on Saturday am, nothing real consistant until Sunday afternoon though. We got to the hospital about 6pm on Sunday and she was born just before 10! This one progressed much faster which was great. I just typed up my birth story in my journal and there is a link in my sig if anyone is interested in reading it, you're more than welcome! Good luck with TTC, I know what you mean about being exhausted once the little one goes to bed! I always followed Nat to bed with in the half hour, I was just exhausted!

Kristine, Thank you for giving us an update on your precious little girl! Congratulations! Julia is ADORABLE just like her sister. :) I love the kissy picture of the two! Glad to hear that everything went well with the delivery. Please send some positive vibes this way because I'm hoping for the same thing!

Pregnancy: I am due in two short months but I have a feeling that the bebe is coming early. I feel huge and I get comments daily about how I look as if I could be delivery anyday now, etc., etc. I am really really busy at work and I'm trying to get as much done before I go on maternity leave.

Potty training: I think Brendan is getting closer but not there yet. He doesn't like to be dirty and will tell us that he has to "poop" and even tells us to change him. We have a little potty for him but he usually just sits there but doesn't actually use it.

Amanda, congrats on getting closer to finishing nursing school. It will be nice when you and your DH both finish school and start TTC for another! :p

Caroline: Thanks for the update on Melissa and Tahlia. Best of luck to you on your L&D! You're getting so close! Hope you deliver a healthy little munchkin!

Hello all! :)

No time no chat, so so sorry guys. Thanks for all your concern about TJ and thanks to Caroline for updating you all! :) She's doing well and has had no more seizures since December. I hope there will never be another. She loves being a big sister which leads me to my news! We have a new addition to our family... a baby boy named Reuben Connor. :) He's just wonderful. He weighed in at 3.5 kgs (7p 12) and 50.5 cms long. (I know that's average for you guys, just can't translate, sorry!) He has lots of hair and looks exactly like Tahlia did when she was born. :) Sorry this is a flying post... he is one week old today and is going to have his first bath. Then we're going out for his first outing. :)

Bye for now guys, all the best. :)

Well Natalie has her first ear infection :( I feel so bad for her! I just wish I could do more than giving her meds, I feel so helpless. Julia has a cold as well which makes for a real handful! Especially since DH went back to work and I am home alone with them in the evenings! I'm definatley exhausted by the days end!

Dont have much more time to chat, hope all you ladies are doing well. Best wishes of a good labor to Caroline and Sue who are getting so close! :)

Oh! I had Chloe over 3 weeks ago. :) I had another earlybird, Chloe came at 33 weeks 6 days, not as early as Ruby who came at 31 weeks thankfully. It's been a long journey but she is coming home TOMORROW (Friday). I'm rooming in with her tonight. I am SO excited!!!

She has done so well, no issues with her unless you count one day under lights for jaundice!

She was 2510 grams, or 5 pounds 8 ounces, HUGE for being so early! She has a full head of hair like Ruby did, but Chloe is fairer. I don't think my girls look anything alike, at least not at this stage.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

These new babies are absolutely gorgeous and the older siblings are even more adorable as time passes. It's nice to hear everyone is doing great and these new additions are here and healthy.

My bestest friend just had her second yesterday. He's beautiful and I so can't wait to get pregnant again. We've been trying for several months with no luck. Of course we are not baby-dancing all that much either so that would be why we haven't gotten caught yet.

Taking the Mad Hatter in for pictures this weekend. She'll be two Mother's Day weekend and I want to get these done before. Plus DH won't be going as he has some much needed yard work that has to be done. And this is perfect since I want some photos of just her and I for Father's Day gifts.

Nothing else much to report. Mads is talking like crazy and saying so many words. She didn't have much to say up until the last two weeks or so. And when she has a dirty diaper, she takes it off, drops it on the floor and then comes to find someone. She gets our attention by yelling 'Hey' and then running her little naked hiney back to where she dropped the diaper. So far, there's only been one icky accident where the poo fell out of the diaper and squashed on the floor. And naturally it happened at the sitter. She called me at work laughing hysterically to share with me what she had done. The potties are out and Mads is being invited to sit and go through the whole process whether she does anything or not. Hopefully by Christmas she will be in diapers only at night.

Congrats to all the second time mommas...Mel, Caroline, and Kristine! All the babies are precious and adorable! I hope that you are all adjusting well. It's hard to believe that I'm getting so close to having one of my own. I am about a month away but I have a strong feeling that baby # 2 is coming early. I'm having to move up my timeline (at work and home) two weeks or so just in case he should come early. I've had some contractions(some pretty regular) on and off and although I am not on bedrest, I have been encouraged to really take it easy. It's not so easy though since I work so much and have a toddler at home!

Speaking of toddlers, HAPPY 2nd B-DAY to all the May 2004 babies! We just had Brendan's B-day party this past weekend but we'll be celebrating again next weekend on his actual B-day. Even though he is almost 2 years old, I still consider him my "baby." :) He's really excited about having a baby brother. He's always rubbing my belly and asks if the baby is moving, and kisses my belly. It's the cutest thing.

I hope all of you are doing well! I'll keep you posted with baby # 2!

Moms -

I've been missing everyone! I hope all is well with the toddlers and new babies.

Congratulations to repeat offenders...of which I am one myself! I'm currently 11 weeks and due Feb. 17th. I've been pretty much sick with nausea for the past 13 weeks. All day, every day. Ugh. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from eating 6 small meals a day and looking 6 months pregnant already. Although there hasn't been any weight gain. Thank goodness!

I hope someone can pop in and say hello and give a quick update. I know everyone is rather busy.

Hello May Mums! :)

What a coincedence Mrs. Ski! I was just at CC and couldn't find this thread and thought it had died. So glad you are still around! :) I hope everyone else is too. :) A huge congratulations to you! Having 2 is busy but is *extra* fun. :)

Simplicity - How are you? How's your new addition?

Caro - How are you bud? How are the princesses doing?

Update: Tahlia is doing well and has her epilepsy under control. She medicated now and hasn't had a seizure in 3 months. *Knock On Wood*. She chucking tantrums left right and centre and we are attempting toilet training, so far unsuccessful. Reuben is going fantasically. He's had his far share of problems but is doing well now. It's hard to believe he's 3 1/2 months already!

Take care all, looking forward to more updates! :)

Hi Stumbles-

Glad to hear Tahlia is right on track!! Aren't those tantrums just so much fun?! I especially like when they do it and then stop when you walk away only to follow you and start up again when you look at them. It's all I can do to keep from laughing.

Potty training - ugh. Not working on that so much. Madi has the idea and knows what to do, she just won't do it. I figure she's just not ready.

And we are going to have to transition her to a big girl bed. She's still in her crib and we'll need that come February. I'd like her fully in the big bed before Christmas.

Not much else other than having stupid nausea all day every day.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hello Mommies!
Things here are going well. Natalie is having her share of tantrums as well! Potty training is going ok. I think she definatley knows when she has to go poop, she even went poop once in the toilet last week, yay! But I dont thing she wants to sometimes or she is too late, and I dont really think she understands the peeing part cause a lot of the time after she pees in her diaper she will say "poop"... She is a really big help around the house though! She loves helping me unload the dishes and she hands me one garmet at a time to fold when Im doing laundry! She is a big help with her sister too. When I have to change Julias diaper Nat will go and get a diaper, the wipes and the desatin! She tries to feed the baby too when I make her bottles, which is pretty cute. I am just loving this age, she is growing up so much and learning so much I could just watch her all day, but then of course I would get nothing done! ;)Well Julia is getting fussy now so I will post a few quick pics and go! Good to hear from you ladies and hope all is well with everyone!

Hi all! I'm glad to see you are all still around! I am too but I've been very busy so I don't get to check in as frequently. I don't think I ever posted this but baby Andrew was born on June 6th (yes 6/6/06!) weighing 8 pounds and measuring at 20 inches. L&D went very well this time. Andrew is a very good baby and Brendan is a great big brother. I'll post pics when I get a chance.

Congrats Sue!! I'm glad your delivery went well this time around, mine was much eaiser the second time as well!

Mrs S~ Sorry about the nausea, I had that pretty bad with Julia as well and I tried those sea-sickness bands (you can get them at the drugstore) and they worked pretty well for me. Maybe those can help... We transitioned Natalie into her big girl bed when she was about 18 months and she did pretty well. When we got it out of the box and started putting it together she was playing with the box then when we got it together she just kept running up to it and climbing into it and playing, she loved it! Hopefully your little girl with take to it well too!

Stumbles~ I'm so glad Tahlia is doing well, I hope this continues! Doesn't it seem to go faster with the second child?? I swear I can't believe Julia is almost 5 months! It's just crazy, but the best crazy inthe world! :D

Simp - congratulations on baby Andrew!!! And a big guy at that.

Kristine Lawdy are those girlie girls cute!! Madi LOVES being in the water and getting wet. And yes, this age is super cute. Madi loves to help unload the dishwasher, empty her trash bin for garbage night and especially loves to help cook and do dishes. DH wants to keep Madi helpful in the kitchen so she'll appreciate cooking and be a good cook.

M/S was much better this weekend due to the fact that my nasty constipation issue was resolved. But the nausea kicked back in full force today. I had a Coke at lunch and what a difference. I feel much better. enough that a piece of chocolate sounds kinda good. I'd prefer a big fatty dill pickle, but I left those at home for a treat after dinner :D .

Stay cool Mommies!!!

Mrs Ski, When my nausea was in full force, I found that soda helped. I craved coke all the time even though I'm not usually a pop drinker. Something about the caffeinated bubbly drink just did the trick for me! (I know, bad mommy!).

Daycare: Baby Andrew just started daycare this morning. He's only going for 3 hours twice a week for the next month while I finish teaching my summer class. We decided to go with an in-home provider (someone my DH knows through his work). I will be going back to my full-time job in September.

I was just going through some older posts and wondering how some other May mommies are doing (Kelly, Beryl, Amanda, and many others...). It's hard to believe our babies are 2 years old! Brendan is quite the chatter box. It's a very fun age but lots of work. I'm sure you all know what I mean! It's so cute because Brendan always says "Mommy, I love you so much. I love you everyday." He is a great big brother and has never shown any signs of jealousy whatsoever. I just love my boys!

Have a great day, ladies!

I have to admit I never read this thread anymore, never really got into I don't think. Once I left WC land, I never got hooked on this CC! I'm a total LJ addict, and luckily most everyone is on there, except many of you guys! Bummer, please open LJ's, they are private and FUN! I'm DanaLC.

Anyway, Landen is doing great! 2 Obviously! I have oodles of pics in my LJ.

I just wanted to post an update on Beryl and Amanda since you just asked.

Beryl just welcomed another baby boy, Max Anthony on July 26th. He's absolutely precious, and looks exactly like Vincent did!

Amanda - I've lost touch with her online, but she did send me a baby announcement this past spring! Colin now has a baby brother Andrew. I believe he was born in March. He is also adorable!

As for us, I originally wanted our kids to be 3 years apart, but as you know, that would mean TTC right now and we are not ready. I see how hard it is for everyone with 2, and it makes me really want to hold for awhile, so I can enjoy it more, especially since it will be our last. So I think we are aiming for 4 years apart now, so we'll probably be TTC this time next year, although I'm off BCP's and charting, so an oops baby may come along. :)

I miss you guys. If any of you are LJ, please friend me! Kristine, etc!
