My parent's cat had an accident on the carpet and now he keeps going back to the same place to go. I use Pet Odor and Stain Eliminator, but I'm not sure if it's available where my parent's live.
Does anyone have other suggestions for getting rid of the smell?
Thanks!

Nature's Miracle!
It takes a while to work. Be sure to saturate the area with NM -- I mean really soak it. Then cover the area with foil so kitty can't go back. And let it sit for a couple of weeks. It will help.

I'm going to add a question here... Has anyone used a carpet cleaning service to get rid of the cat pee stains/smell? We have a fairly large area that our cat decided would be a great litterbox, and the smell is so annoying.

I've been using Nature's Miracle and it seems to be doing a good job. Our puppy is not housebroken yet so I think I'm going to buy stock in it!

We also use Nature's Miracle. But I have one other tip that may help: urine, and any other bodily fluid, has proteins in it that show up under black light. I use a blacklight to search for stains, and once I find them and clean them, I check them again. If there's any "glow" left, I know I need to re-clean.

I should have added, I believe the incident occured on an oriental rug (it was in their bedroom and I can't remember there being any other rugs in there). I'll pass along the nature's miracle tip. I think it's partly just a pain because their cat is getting old and ill and it sucks for them.
Thank you all!
