We're planning a trip in the next few weeks and are looking to rent a car/wagon/minivan. We're looking for something that will fit 4 adults and a FF car seat (marathon). 4 adults will only be in the car while were at our destination (to dinner and the such), not for the actual trip. Obviously we know a minivan fits the bill but we'd like that to be the last resort with current gas prices.

So, I'm wondering what full-sized cars or wagons would work for us. Hopefully you can help so I don't have to go to the rental place and try them out for myself:)

TIA

I think most full-size cars will fit four adults and a carseat. Especially since you'll only be driving short distances.

We drove 4 hours to & from Yosemite and around the park with 4 adults and a marathon in a Huyndai Elantra GT. It really wasn't overly cramped in the back (I sat in the back with MIL). I've also driven myself and 3 co-workers, plus the carseat, out to lunch many times without much complaint. :)

With a full-size - Camry and the like - I think it'd be no problem.

Are your adults average sized?

I'd also say if everyone is average sized, you should be fine with a sedan like a Camry, Maxima.. the "intermediate" or "full sized" (more ford taurus type size) option on a rental.

My MIL had a Buick LeSabre, we fit the carseat and four adults in there with no problems and plenty of legroom.

have fun!
