You can catch it over and over again on espn or nesn.
We weren't watching the game but happened to see on line that he had hit a no-hitter through 8 so we quickly turned it on to see the whole 9th inning. That was amazing! Fenway Park was going crazy!!! Hopefully we'll see lots of craziness there in the next couple of months.

I think it's so funny that people thought he was crying after the game but he was actually getting his eyes blurred by David Ortiz pretty much jumping on his head.
I also had to laugh at Josh Beckett yelling at the camera. "he did one better than Curt Schilling!!" I was at the almost-no-hitter in Oakland in June and I love the fact that at Curt's press conference, he admitted that he shook off a sign from Varitek on the hitter. At Clay Buchholz's conference, he basically said that he just listened to Tek, because he is such a prepared and thorough guy. I love Varitek. Listen to your captain!

I was at Fenway for Wednesday night's game. I said to DH that it couldn't have been better if it had been scripted by Hollywood. The joy that rocked the stadium when Big Papi hit that 9th inning, one on, one out HR was beyond belief.
It was definitely worth a trip from New Jersey to be a part of that!

So happy they won last night! It shut the stupid Fox announcers up! They were soooooooo pro-Yankee it was sick! I hate it when ESPN or FOX airs the games. They always side with the Yankees or subtly talk smack about the Sox. I wish NESN could air all of the games!

I am going to the Patriots tonight - it is so great to be at a game at the same time the Red Sox are playing the Yankees. The whole crowd goes wild when the Red Sox do something great (since so many people are getting updates through headphones, text messages, etc) and the players are all confused.
I can't believe there are only 13 games left. I am going on the 26th.

WTF? What a jerk!
Griffin Whitman, a 10-year-old Red Sox fan from Swampscott, was excited to attend his first Yankees vs. Red Sox game Friday night. The young autograph -collector was even more thrilled to score Yankees outfielder Shelley Duncan's signature before the game. That is, until Griffin read the message from the 27-year-old rookie: "Red Sox suck! Shelley Duncan."

Josh Beckett's Ex-Girlfriend Will Sing the National Anthem Tonight
Country music artist Danielle Peck will sing the national anthem and "God Bless America" at tonight's Indians game.
Peck, it turns out, dated Red Sox pitching ace Josh Beckett, who is starting tonight's do-or- die game against the Tribe and who handed them their only loss in the American League Championship Series.
"It's an incredible coincidence. Honestly," said Indians spokesman Bob DiBiasio. "This isn't another bug thing."
"She's from Ohio. Her entire family are Indians fans. We did not know anything about her connections to Beckett. The next day, we find out the rest of the story," said DiBiasio. "How are we supposed to know who Josh Beckett dates?"

It was my fault that they lost game 2. It was late, I had been drinking since noon and I was beat. Kevin Youkilis had just flied out after his 11 pitch at bat (with Jacoby on 3rd) and I said, "eh, I'll just go to bed and trust that they will pull it out ..." yeah ... that didn't happen!

Now the Sox get to go back to Boston, which will be a better environment at least. Needing to win the next two games is tough, but as we know- they've done it before.
Off topic, have you all been following the Torre/Yankees story? Very interesting. Tom Verducci on SI.com really called out the Yankees for their handling of the situation in this article (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/tom_verducci/10/18/torre/index.html?eref=T1). Makes me wonder if the Yankees are entering some rebuilding years where they won't be as strong.

It's time to cue up some Dropkick Murphy's music. Tessie anyone???
Tessie is the Royal Rooters' rally cry
Tessie is the tune they always sung
Tessie echoed April through October nights
After serenading Stahl, Dineen and Young
Tessie is a maiden with the sparkling eyes
Tessie is a maiden with the love
She doesn't know the meaning of her sight
She's got a comment full of love
And sometimes when the game is on the line
Tessie always carried them away
Up the road from Third Base to Huntington
The boys will always sing and sway
Two! Three! Four!
"Tessie," "Nuff Said" McGreevy shouted,
"We're not here to mess around
Boston, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt you
You know we couldn't live without you
Tessie, you are the only, only, only"
The Rooters showed up at the grounds one day
They found their seats had all been sold
McGreevey led the charge into the park
Stormed the gates and put the game on hold
The Rooters gave the other team a dreadful fright
Boston's tenth man could not be wrong
Up from "Third Base" to Huntington
They'd sing another victory song
Two! Three! Four!
"Tessie," "Nuff Said" McGreevey shouted,
"We're not here to mess around
Boston, you know we love you madly
Hear the crowd roar to your sound
Don't blame us if we ever doubt you
You know we couldn't live without you

ETS: Did anyone else see the coverage of Pap doing an irish jig after one of his wins? Friggin hilarious!

I have to work tonight, but I'm hoping (and if not, begging) that they put the game on in the bar so I can keep an eye on it.
My new favorite player is starting game 1!!!!! Yay Jacoby!

alienhost that is cool that you got to meet gabe kapler. DH and i went to spring training this past winter and were hoping to get there early to meet some players but of course it didn't happen.
and b/c my DH is such a great guy, he is bringing me to the game tonight:D i am 5 mos. pregnant and didn't get any sleep last night so i am afraid i might fall alseep in the seats so it better be an exciting game! i saw this shirt a few weeks ago and wanted to buy it but they didn't have my size. of course i just found it online and wish i had ordered it so i could wear it tonight...oh well!

Head over to the big souvenier shop by Fenway, I bet you could buy one there! You could change in the ladies room :D
I'm so jealous you are going tonight. I went to games 4 and 5 of the ACLS back in 2004 and I was something like 8 or 10 weeks PG. I could barely stay awake for those games. I had to close my eyes between innings. One game started at 5 or 5:30 and went way past 11, I remember getting back to my office to pick up the car and it was almost midnight. Those were tough games to watch.
Only 4 hours till game time!

good idea alienhost, i will check that out!
and i was at that long game too. i was at a conference in westborough that day and remember leaving a little early so i could get in for the game b/c it was an early start...and then it went on and on and on! wasn't it against the yankees? at least i wasn't pregnant, you must have been so tired!
that just made me think of a funny story, trot nixon's family used to sit in front of us and his father used to fall alseep during games all the time! he was really tall and wore a hat a lot so i hated sitting behind him b/c i could never see anything. DH and i would nudge each other b/c we never understood how anyone could actually sleep during a game, sitting up no less!

YES, against the Yankees. My BIL refused to go to game 4 after the Sox lost 22 to 15 so I got his ticket and DH had a ticket b/c his father was on a cruise (DH went to the division, ALCS, and WS that year). That game went 12 innings. I went to game 5 b/c someone who had tickets with BIL/FIL was supposed to go Friday night (?) and it was rained out. The make up game was Monday and he couldn't go. I was so fortunate to go to those games. We say DD was a Sox fan in the womb.
It started at 5:10 and I had to leave work early. It was 14 innings and 5 hours 49 minutes. I was dead on my feet but very happy!
PS I found the details on Wikipedia, my memory is not that good! wikipedia link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2004_American_League_Championship_Series#Game_4)
ETA: that's funny about Trot's family. What a waste of good seats!
