Where did you have your photos taken?

I know most people do their photos outside, but we live in a fairly rainy city and there is a good chance it will be raining on the wedding day. The only thing I am a bit worried about is finding somewhere to have the posed family photos done.

Please post where you had your photos taken.

Thanks!

We had ours done in our church, and at my parents house. Not original, I know. ;)

I had also looked into using a historic house in the area that is also an art museum - that could be another idea for you.

We went to a park to take some pictures and they had some cool adobe buildings there. Our other alternative would be some old buildings, museums, etc.

We did some at the National Building Museum--gorgeous setting, but it was weird because there were tourists all over.

We did 90% of our photos outdoors at a park, but our "rainy day alternative" (hey, gotta have one when you live in Seattle like me!) was to do our photos at the hotel where we got ready that morning. I'd cleared this with the hotel people in advance, & they said it would be okay for us to do our photos there if it rained (which it didn't, luckily, but it was nice to have a back up plan). The hotel had a really nice lounge area upstairs & also a nice lobby sitting area downstairs, so we could have done pictures in one/both of those places if need be.

Also, we had our wedding venue (ceremony & reception were in same location) reserved all day, so we could have gone in there to do some of the photos too. The lighting wasn't very good (not many windows) but it would have been okay if necessary.

My advice is to think of one or two good rainy day photo locations & contact whoever you might need to contact to get advance approval to take pictures there if it ends up raining on your wedding day. Some public places won't let you just walk in & start shooting pictures without advance authorization (museums, parks, hotels, etc.)

Good luck! ;)

We had an nasty rainy ice storm the day of our wedding, so all our pics were done inside both at the ceremony and reception sites. Our ceremony was in a historic building (an Opera House) so that lent itself to some good pics.
