Charting Our Course to the BFPs

http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.

So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!

Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.

Your threadmistress for this thread is Mystikal!

To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread each month as well as after 3 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistress would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if I get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!

Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.

If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!

Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb

* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.

* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.

* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.

* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.

* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.

* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.

* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.

* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.

* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.

* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.

* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!

* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!

* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations

This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!

•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.
•BCP: Birth control pills
•BD'ing: "baby dancing"; baby-making intercourse
•BFN: "Big Fat Neutral" or “Big Fat Negative”; Negative pregnancy test.
•BF'ing: breast-feeding
•BRB: "be right back"
•CD: cycle day; a particular day in your menstrual cycle (example: CD1 is the first day of your period)
•CL: Cover Line; a visual tool used to separate the low (pre-ovulatory) temps from high (post-ovulatory) temps; a coverline is typically based on the temperatures 6 days prior to ovulation.
•CM: cervical mucous; one of the most useful clues your body can give you in predicting your fertility; it can range from dry, creamy, sticky, or (the most fertile) egg white/watery type.
•CF: cervical fluid; same as cervical mucus
•CP: cervical position; an optional, but sometimes really useful, fertility sign; CP will generally be low, firm and closed before and after ovulation, and high, soft and open during your fertile time.
•DD: "dear daughter"
•DH: "dear husband"
•DS: "dear son"
•DPO: Days Past Ovulation; number of days from your post-ovulatory temperature rise. (Example: 1DPO is the day after your ovulation)
•Endo: endometriosis (can be a fertility problem)
•EDC and EDD: estimated date of confinement (antiquated, but still used by physicians) and estimated date of delivery
•EPT: a brand of pregnancy test, or, generic for "early pregnancy test"
•EW or EWCM: egg white cervical mucus; the most fertile quality CM; it is slippery, clear and stretchy, like egg whites; also EWCF
•FAM: Fertility Awareness Method; the method of fertility and/or birth control that correlates the physical changes you experience during your cycle to predict when you are most fertile
•FF: Fertility Friend, an online (free, for basic services) fertility charting site (website); (could also be formula feeding; check context)
•FM: fertility monitor
•FMU: first morning urine
•FP: follicular phase; the phase before ovulation, where the egg matures in the ovaries
•FRED: First Response Early Detection (pregnancy test)
•HCG: human chorionic gonadotropin; the hormone that is present during pregnancy and what the HPT's and blood test measure to determine if you are pregnant
•HTH: "hope that helps"
•HPT: home pregnancy test; a urine pregnancy test you can take at home
•IMHO: "in my humble opinion"
•IMO: "in my opinion"
•IUI: intra-uterine insemination
•IVF: in vitro fertilization
•KU: knocked up
•LH: leutenizing hormone; the LH surge is what is measured by the OPKs; this hormone signals the egg to burst from the ovary
•LP: luteal phase; the phase of your cycle that begins just after ovulation and continues for 10-18 days, ending with the start of your next period; during the LP, your body continues to build up the lining of your uterus, and produce hormones which would support a pregnancy; this is the time when a fertilized egg can implant into the uterine lining
•NFP: Natural Family Planning; similar to FAM, but with abstinence during the fertile period
•O, Oing, Oed: ovulation, ovulating, or ovulated
•OPK: ovulation predictor kit; tests for presence of LH surge that usually precedes ovulation by 12-48 hours; these tests are quite expensive and not always accurate (if you take medication or depending on your age); these are optional when charting with FF, but if your fertility data is not clear it can bring more light and help interpret difficult cases
•OS: Ovusoft; charting software based on TCOYF
•PCOS: polycystic ovarian syndrome (a fertility problem)
•PG: pregnant
•PIAC: pee in a cup
•POAS: pee on a stick
•RE: reproductive endocrinologist
•SA: semen analysis
•SH: "sweet husband"
•SO: "significant other"
•SYS, SYL : See ya soon! or See ya later!
•TCOYF: Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler; a book and website about charting and fertility.
•TMI: "too much information" - There is no such thing when TTC!
•TTA: "trying to avoid"
•TTC: "trying to conceive"
•TTFN: "ta-ta for now"
•TTYL, TTYS: "talk to you later" or "talk to you soon"

Thank you all so much for the congratulations! It still feels so surreal, but I am hoping to get a blood test on Monday to confirm.

BLove, I just wanted to let you know that I have been having AF cramps sporadically since 10DPO, so that doesn't necessarily mean that the witch is on her way! Have patience! And great attitude! :) {{HUGS}}

Ok... here is the announcement! If anyone would be interested in helping Mystikal man this thread, send her a PM by the end of today and she will make her decision, then announce the new co-threadmistress sometime tomorrow!

Thank you all again for being my support through this horrible rollercoaster ride, and I wish you all the very best of luck in getting out of here very very soon! I will stick around to cheer you all on, definitely! Take care ladies!

Congrats BabyLust!!!! H&H 9 months to you!
Sorry AF showed up nuhmah .
Same old stuff going on here... nothing new to report. I'm seriously thinking this is going to be an annov cycle. Ovusoft called O a while back but my temps are back below the coverline, FF took my O away a couple days ago.
Question: FF is giving me a special offer to get VIP membership at a reduced price... what is the regular price? Also do you think it would be worth it being I have Ovusoft as well? Or would it be alot of the same info do you think? TIA!
P.S. Thanks for the new thread!

Dotsie I wanted to say I looked at your chart and with your missing temps mid-cycle it's hard to tell, but I might peg your O date at the end of your fertile CM, which would be CD15 (I think.) That would put you at 11dpo, and still too early for a BFP for some, but the fact that your temp went up this morning is promising.

I'm still looking for a co-threadmistress, so anyone that is interested please PM me!!

mystikal Thank you for that glimmer of hope. :) I'm not cramping as much today so who knows. I am going to test tomorrow if my temp stays the same or I have a temp rise. If it drops I'll know that AF is knocking at my door.

Man, this thread moves fast! I go away for a little while and there are 2 new threads to catch up on!!

Congrats to babylust on your BFP!

Welcome to Hula1974. Hopefully your stay will be short and sweet!

I have been trying to catch up and chart stalk a little at the same time :) Polkadot, I think your chart still looks really promising! You really are the POAS queen!! I know it's impossible to do, but if you can hold out until Wednesday to test, hopefully you can avoid all the BFN's! ;)

As for me, I think I'm ready to believe that I O'd. It seemed too early at first, but my temps keep going/staying up, so I guess I really did! So I'm at 5 DPO right now, and I can't wait to test! I have a really good feeling about this cycle, even though we didn't have the most optimal BD timing, and no EWCM.

So, Threadmistress, can you move me to: Think I O'd, Testing 10/10-10/16? Thanks!

Congrats BabyLust!!!! That is so awesome!!!!

Welcome to Hula1974, graciebella, and soulmate!!

As you can see, this message is posted REALLY late... I'm on call this weekend for work, and got called in to the office at 1:30 AM. It's now 4:16 AM and I'm sitting here doing nothing, waiting for someone to fix some code. I guess my usual 6 AM temp time is out the window. :(

Also, I've been having serious O pain today, and yesterday I had some twinges too. It shouldn't be O time as I've had absolutely no decent CM yet and it's a few days earlier than usual. If I did O today, I'm gonna be ticked because timing sucked very, very badly. I guess we shall see....

Man I'm tired... a positive though though, if I stay here long enough I can hit Panera on the way home for some bagels. :D

Congrats Baby Lust!!!! A healthy - and wonderful 9 months to you and your DH!

Also- welcome Hula1974, graciebella, and soulmate!

CD17 for me and still waiting to ovulate  I keep expecting a positive OPK-- but nothing yet. I'm sure my late ovulation is due to the fact that I took the Femara from days 5-9 (and last month I took Clomid from 1-5). So, maybe this month ovulation will occur around day 20? I don't care-- as long as we can time it right!

Good luck to all testers (Polkadot, you crack me up!) - I'll definitely be doing some chart stalking this week!

Still BFN. I never thought I would say this but if I am not pg, I just wish AF would appear already! Since today is either 13 or 14 DPO I am losing whatever little hope I had that a BFP is in my future this cycle. I am really ok with it, but I just want to move on. I'm nervous about October b/c I'm planning to take another 50mg of Clomid but DH will be out of town without me the last 2 weekends. And I was thinking of going to visit my college roomie in Atlanta one of those weekends but I know that traveling can delay O and I don't know if I want to mess with it. Ya know? *sigh*

Question...if the dip on my chart was really an implantation dip (on 7 or 8 DPO) and if I were actually pg, wouldn't there be enough HCG in my blood to show up on a pg test?

I would think that there would be enough hcg to be detected, but what do I know:rolleyes: Good Luck.

I think I posted in here about my left bb leaking yesterday morning. Well now the left and the right are leaking. Not a lot, don't need a pad, but it's there. And some of it looked like colostrum. Again, I have never heard of someone leaking out of their bb's in early pg (don't even know if I am pg yet) but I do know when I was pg with my DS I was a faucet very early on!!!

babylove- i think that is should so up by now...but i have mentioned it to a few people after i had some spotting last week and two people told me that store bought HPT never picked up there HCg level...so maybe there is hope...my aunt who is a nurse just knew she was PG and she took 7 different test...it never showed up and even the 1st blood test she took didnt...so there is always hope and my cousin Matthew is adorable...so i guess there is always hope and living proff that sometimes our bodies just arent as fast as we would liek them to be...she wasnt able to detect the HCg level until she was 6 weeks....

Good luck to you...i am in the same boat...doing anythign i can besides going to the store to buy more tests....;)

Thanks Polkadot...I guess there is still a chance. My friend also didn't get a + pregnancy test right away when she was pg. BTW, I am ROTFLMAO at your link to your FF chart....hilarious!! :D

Polkadot ~ If you mixed us together it would be the perfect tester. I don't test and you can't stop! ;) Good luck with the wait and hoping for your BFP announcement soon!

Welcome to the newbies! Hope you're not here long! ;)

CD36 for me - still no sign of AF. I'm thinking about testing. 2 weeks ago (a Friday night) I finally had EWCM about 7pm. Well, DH was working but I had him wake me at 7am when he came home so we could DTD. Who knows - maybe it worked?! I would be so surprised - we've barely BD all month cuz we've been sick.

Welcome to all the newbies!

babylove~Your temps still look good, so don't lose hope. I have a friend who couldn't get her pg confirmed (HPT, blood tests, etc) until 9 weeks! Some people's just show up later, I guess. Sending good vibes your way!

Wrighty~I don't know anything about Femara. My ovulation is all over the place, so DH and I decided this cycle to BD every other day until we knew for sure I had O'ed. That way on the off-chance that I missed the +OPK, we would have our bases covered anyway. Good luck!

polkadot~It's still early...It's still early...It's still early...It's still early...It's still early...It's still early...It's still early...It's still early...It's still early...It's still early.

klav~I'm sorry that AF is on her way. Best of luck next cycle.

Dotsie~I don't know anything about leaky bbs. If it were me, I would call the doctor on Monday just to be sure.

Lizard~Hopefully that egg will wait a day or two so you can get some BDing in!

KM~Who knows? Maybe that was just enough to catch the egg!

Ok...I had to do something this morning to get my DH off my back. I usually test on 13dpo at the earliest because I figure that if I O so late, I probably would get BFPs late. Of course, this isn't based on science, more like my body shows up late to O, so why on earth would my body actually show a BFP early? Anyway, last night DH was bugging me to test. I kept telling him "no" and that it was too early, etc. So after the 50th time of him asking, I told him I would test this morning to show him it is too early. And, of course, I was right. Long story, short, I had a BFN this morning but I am not worried about it. I will test again on Thursday when I am 13dpo. My DH and polkadot would be a dangerous combination. ;)

Thanks for the welcome ABirney and Lizard. While I seriously doubt my stay will be short...it will be sweet ;)

Wrighty Doing an O dance for ya! (Show me your O face pops in my head from Office Space when I say that :D )

babyloveQuestion...if the dip on my chart was really an implantation dip (on 7 or 8 DPO) and if I were actually pg, wouldn't there be enough HCG in my blood to show up on a pg test? There should be. Unfortunately dips mean nothing just like no dips mean nothing. Not saying you are not pregnant...just that the dip is about 50/50 something vs. nothing. How's that for an answer ;) Just saying that the dip may not have been implantation. You may have implanted later than that or not implanted at all. Your temp rise this morning looks great though. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Dotsie If you are not pregnant this cycle that usually means that your prolactin levels are too high. Prolactin is a hormone that is dominant when you breastfeed it also tells your body not to ovulate just yet. If you are getting leakage then you may have borderline high prolactin levels.

Welcome kiddo!!

i just wish there could be a defining moment where we knew a real answer...you can get plenty of - test but then still not see AF...its too nerve wracking...i'm going nuts... Oh god polkadot do I know where you are coming from! There is that twilight period during your cycle where there is so much ambiguity that it is torture! I am feeling for ya :(

Kaeden's Mommy ~ Thanks for the finger crossing! I need all the help I can get! Hopefully your early morning BD did the trick.... crossing my fingers for you! :)

UTChick ~ 9 weeks! Jeez...hope I don't have to wait that long if I am pg! At some point, I think my dr would give me an u/s to be sure one way or another. As for your hubby...when will men learn that women are always right? ;)

kiddo ~ Welcome!

polkadot ~ I often wish I had a crystal ball...or at least a little window into my uterus that I could peek into every now and then ;)

Soulmate ~ Thanks for your opinion on the dip! My temp did go up again this morning, but I can't put too much stock in that b/c I am on progesterone supps, which could result in higher than normal temps during the 2WW (although this is my 3rd month on the prog supps and I have never before had high temps like this...).

So, I *know* I shouldn't be looking at a HPT hours after I took the test...but I did. And there is the faintest of faint lines. I *know* the test is invalid after 2 mins, but a girl can dream right? ;)

Dotsie Even though your temp went down today I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

I'm getting closer to what FF is calling my fertile window (supposedly CD19-23 or something like that.) However, I have O'ed as early as CD16 so DH and I started the BD fest on Friday. We BD'd this morning and may tonight as well, but we won't again until Tuesday morning before he leaves for his training, and then that will be the last time until at least Friday afternoon. *sigh* I hope my body cooperates and I O sometime Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday. lol. Current status: testing October 6

Obviously my name is Michelle. I have been TTC for 1 month now. I wasn't temping the 1st month as I was just learning how everything worked. I decided to start temping for this cycle, assuming I'm not PG already. (should know by the end of this week) I started temping yesterday to get in the habit of doing it each morning. Once I start a new cycle I will post a link to my chart.

I have had bunches of "symptoms" this month as I have tried to guess when I am ovulating. Many of the symptoms could be a result of going off BCP, so I didn't get my hopes up. (I never thought I'd be excited to feel nausea!) Hopefully since I will be charting next month I will get a better idea of when I O.

I am feeling a little bummed right now because I have a feeling this will not be our month. That's OK because we just started trying, but it bums me out to think that I have to wait another whole month to "be pregnant."

So that's me. Good luck to everyone!

Welcome, MichelleRenee! May your stay be short and sweet.

Thanks, Soulmate. Yeah, it pretty much stinks. I have my follow-up with my GYN tomorrow so we will see what he says. I think I'll have to have more bloodwork to make sure my numbers are "non-pregnant". They weren't too far off last week so I'm sure we are already there. Feeling happy we got pregnant. . . but sad it didn't last long. It feels really nice to have others who know what we are going through. . particularly since we aren't telling anyone IRL.

Good morning Ladies!!

Ok… so I am not sure if I was the secret BFP.. or not.. (You girls are always so smart) … and if I am not the secret BFP…. then SURPRISE.. I got a BFP yesterday… it was so light though????!!!
DH and I went to 2 weddings this weekend.. and I was so busy that I waited until Sunday to test… and SURPRISE… but like I said super light. SO I tested this am and still very faint… I have some cramping though.. is this normal????
I called my doctor and I have an appt on Wednesday.. so we shall.

I was so frustrated yesterday because I was trying to post and I could not… grrrr.. so I wanted to tell you all yesterday… BUT HERE I AM TODAY!

I also wanted to say .. welcome all you newbies!

Lastly, any ladies w/ all the long, strange charts (like myelf) who might going on Clomid or who are… there is hope for us out there… so stay positive!

PS… I JUST FOUND THE MYSTERY BFP .. CONGRATS TO HER!!!

Congrats BabyLust and Ryan! Happy and healthy 9 months!

And, welcome Hula1974, graciebella, and soulmate!

Threadmistress, please move me to Think I O'ed - Testing 10/10 - 10/15 (My first 2ww!)

Ok, I'm having some issues with FF. It's giving me the following message: Your chart data does not allow ovulation to be pinpointed to within a 24 hour timeframe. Your temperature suggests, however, that ovulation may have occured between CD 10 and CD 19.

WTH? Taking into account my CM and temps (discounting the discarded temps) I should have O'ed on CD 18 or 19. On Thursday (CD 18) I had my first up temp, and about mid-morning my CM really dried up. Friday (CD 19) was my first day with no EWCM at all. So, which day should I count as my O-day???

Dotsie
10-03-2005, 09:27 AM
Congrats Ryan
I have one last question and then I will stop bothering you all ;)
I had a temp drop. Is it still *possible* to be pg if your temp drops below your coverline? Oh and once I had my temp drop, FF once again took my O day away?!? I am so nauseous today. I POAS this morning and got a BFN that and my temp drops makes me think I'm out this month but I am now starting to wonder. Especially with babylust saying that she didn't get a BFP until 14dpo.

ptcrn
10-03-2005, 09:49 AM
Congrats to Ryan and the mystery BFP! I finally found her too! Hope she comes back to out herself soon. :) H&H 9 months to you both.

Dotsie,I'm definitely not an expert, but it almost looks to me like your coverline could be 97.1, with your O date being CD 15, in which case you're all set. It's still looking promising to me! But like I said, I'm no expert. :p Hang in there!

Bunnybeth,I would count either CD 17 or 18 as your O date. You had a temp rise on day 18, but with your CM it could be either day. FF has done that to me before too- it's so frustrating!

Still patiently waiting to test next Monday- I hope I can hold out until then!

Not much here... just waiting for AF to end so I can really start trying seriously this month. I shouldn't have any more "stress" screwing w/ my cycle like the last 5 months, so hopeing this one is "regular" for me!!

Dotsie: I agree with Soulmate about charts being inconsistent. A big temp drop on one chart means AF is just around the corner. Yet, on another chart, it means there is still hope for a BFP. I'm definitely an advocate of charting, but there are some big limitations to charts. For example, my temps stay high until after AF arrives. So, I try to keep that in mind when charting during the 2ww and not get my hopes up just based on high temps. Unforunately, the end result of all this confusion is that we just have to WAIT with big unanswered questions wieghing on our minds.

ptcrn: Looks like I've got myself a 2ww buddy! I thought I would be able to ward off obsession this time around, but I've been staring at my chart all day today wishing some big sign would appear and tell me if I've conceived. Hasn't happened yet!

Congratulations, Ryan!!! :D

As I mentioned on Saturday, I was at my Mom's house this weekend. during the drive down on Friday, I felt quesy and was burping like crazy. Then around 10 p.m. on Saturday, I was hit with the worst upset stomach. I felt like I was going to throw-up. It was awful. I went to sleep (and had three dreams about TEMPING  ) and felt fine the next day....until noon when I felt quesy again. That lasted the rest of the day. THEN I felt okay today until noon. I hate to read into FPS (like I do every cycle), but its hard to ignore. Ugh. I'm so tired of this limbo. :(

I temped for the third time this morning and my temp has been the same each morning. I know it is too late in my cycle for the temps to really mean anything, but is it normal to have 3 consecutive 97.7's? Everyone else's charts seem to go up and down each day.

Lizard--Thanks for being our new co-threadmistress! We are lucky to have you.

Ryan - Congrats on the BFP! Hoping for a happy, healthy and sticky nine months!

polkadot-- I am so proud of you for not testing yesterday! I was half-expecting you to break down with two new HPT sitting around the house. Stalked your chart and that is a nice temp rise today. Hoping good news is just around the corner.

CT- yeah for shorter cycles!

Marteneym - sorry the Clomid didn't work for you. Hoping the 100 mg does the trick.

As for me, had my follow-up with my doc and as expected, I have more bloodwork to make sure the HSG is low enough to try again. He was quite thrilled (and shocked) we were able to get pregnant our first cycle post-lap. He gave me progesterone supplements for after O. So, I'll have to temper my enthusiasm for high temps and longer luteal phases. It will be tough not to read into all that. Told DH to rest up b/c BD fest begins at the end of this week.

Welcome Soulmate!! good to see you again and have all that wisdom on the thread.Aww thanks CTs! I just hope hope that wisdom doesn't come across as being a know-it-all!

MichelleRenee Stable temps like that are normally a great sign. It means your hormones are stable. Basically your temps reflect what your hormones are doing. Double check your thermometer though. I got a new thermometer and when I got the third 97.70 in a row I noticed that the memory on the thermometer was messed up and was not actually remembering the actual temp (CVS brand). You can double check the actual functioning with a regular digital thermometer or the memory by randomly checking your temp, turning it off, and then on again.

amurphy FPS drive me crazy every single cycle! I really hope these are RPS and not the fake ones!

Lizard I hope you caught that eggie!

marteneym I'm sorry that you didn't ovulate...how frustrating :( Hopefully you'll see some progress with next cycle.

So, for us, today is CD55 and I *think* AF might be arriving. I've been on the Provera for 6 days and the spotting stopped after the first 1, but today it started again. I'm waiting till tomorrow to call it - if it's true AF, then I call the doc for CD4 bloodwork and a Clomid script. I can't wait!

Thanks for the opinions ptcrn and Soulmate. Given that I'm not sure that temp was *completely* accurate, I'll go by the CM and call my O at CD18. (I may have been leaning towards CD19 for the EDD it would produce... :p)

gymwidow Good luck with your new cycle!

Just curious... at about how many DPO does implantation occur? I'm getting mild cramps today... but it could just be me overanalyzing my uterus.

Baby Lust

Bunnybeth, I had implantation spotting on 11DPO. That is around the time it usually happens, I believe. Overanalyzing everything?? Do we do that???

Thanks Lizard!

Soulmate, did yours really read 97.7 three time in a row too, or was that an example? If it did, that is weird, because mine is CVS brand too. I guess I better spring for a better one if this one is going to be inaccurate. I tried it out just now and got a 98.5. We'll see what happens in the morning.

Thanks again!

As for me: Temp went up a tad today, so I am still in the game. I think I will wait until Thursday to test, so that I can monitor and over-analyze my temps for a couple of more days.

MichelleRenee-If you look at my chart, I had 98.1 4 days in a row. I was sick (fever) after that, so I am not certain if it would have continued or not.

MichelleRenee

I just read somewhere that soneone had dark blue veins showing on her bb's and that she thought it meant she might be pregnant. I didn't know that was a sign of pregnancy. Yesterday I happened to notice in the shower that one of my girls looked like a road map. I checked again and it still does. If it means I could be PG, yay!! If I'm not... ewwww! Veiny bb's??

I also had 2 zits on my chest yesterday. I have never had acne anywhere but my face. Neither did my sis and with both pregnancies her chest has borken out pretty badly. Small sign.... but I'll take what I can get!

So I am finally starting to understand FF and what everything means. Without temping my best guess is that I am 6 DPO. I could be at 7 or 8, but I don't think the other "fertile" patches on my chart were accurate. It made a fertile patch every time I reported watery CM, which I have a few times a month. I only had EWCM the one time so I think that would have been when I O'd, right? I am on CD 26 now though, so I think I should get AF by the day after tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what they think? I O'd pretty late (CD21) so does that mean I'll get AF late?

Soulmate

MichelleReneeSoulmate, did yours really read 97.7 three time in a row too, or was that an example? If it did, that is weird, because mine is CVS brand too. Mine literally read 97.70 but only when retrieving it from the "memory". It was very accurate if I looked at it right away. I would try to look at the temp right away in the a.m. and not get it from the memory. I guess it is a defect in the CVS thermometers. 97.7 is pretty low for a post-O temp.I just read somewhere that soneone had dark blue veins showing on her bb's and that she thought it meant she might be pregnant. I didn't know that was a sign of pregnancy. Welcome to the wonderful world of FPS (fake pregnancy symptoms)!! These are fabulous things in the 2ww that will convince you that you are pregnant. The catch is that they turn into RPS (real pregnancy symptoms) only when you get the BFP. They will drive you absolutely mad. I only had EWCM the one time so I think that would have been when I O'd, right? Not necessarily. You can get multiple patches of EWCM and not O. The only confirmation of Oing is a temp jump (even +OPKs cannot guarantee an O). Check your temp straight after taking it and if it is somewhere in the 98's you Oed already and the patch of EWCM is probably when you ovulated.I am on CD 26 now though, so I think I should get AF by the day after tomorrow. Can anyone tell me what they think? I O'd pretty late (CD21) so does that mean I'll get AF late?A very very common thought process for beginning charters is counting cycles by cycle days (i.e. AF comes on CD28, etc). In charting you gauge when AF will come by your LP (time between O and AF). The LP rarely changes in length, O days often change with stress, sickness, randomness, etc. I too normally O on CD21 and have an 11 day LP so AF could come on CD33. If I ovulated on CD19 AF would come on CD31. So, as a charter, you can never really say..."oh I'm on CD29 AF should be here." We know better than that. If you Oed on CD21 you cannot know when AF will come until you determine the length of your LP (luteal phase). It'll probably be around CD31 to CD35. Hope this helps.

Soulmate

polkadot Girly  ! Your chart still looks amazing! Now, I am not one to give the ole end of LP pep talk...but uhhh...have you *seen* your chart? 12DPO can still be early for a BFP. The average is 13.6DPO and Baby Lust is the perfect example of that. She got a very faint BFP at 14DPO. Ignore the mid-LP spotting and don't give up just yet.

Klav Sorry about spot :( I hope the 100mg works for you. We are the oldest gals on the block (TTC wise) and at least one of us needs to get outta here soon.

bunnybethJust curious... at about how many DPO does implantation occur? Usually around 7-11DPO but I've seen people get BFPs at 8 and 9DPO so they had to have implanted earlier than 7DPO. It usually takes about 3 or so days for the HCG to build up to readable levels after implantation.

polkadot I think we might see a better "sign" from you in the next day or so. Your chart is fabulous!!! I'm going to go out tomorrow and buy a better basal therm, one with a light. I am going to be very dedicated next month to charting so I will know EXACTLY when I O. This guessing game is for the birds.
I'm due for AF today and so far not a sign of her. I wish she would get here so I can go on to the next cycle. I'm never late so wait and see, she's going to be evil and stay away a day or two extra to torture me....

Wow. Thanks for the info. I thought that if you always had cycles that were the same length that you could count on AF to be here on the same day each month.

Yeah, I've had plenty of fake symptoms. I have been keeping track of all of them since going off BCP's to get an idea of what is normal for me and what is really a clue I might be PG. I just thought it was funny that I read that the day after noticing the dark blue veins.

Anyways, thanks for the info, Soulmate. Slowly but surely I am learning how all this stuff works. ;)

polkadot- I saw that you tested today but you refrained on Sunday. That's progress. :D I find that any time I have HPTs in the house, I go nuts. Therefore, I try not to keep them in the house . . .and avoid all drugstores at the end of my LP.

And I completely second Soulmate. . . your chart is looking good and 12 DPO is still early. Don't give up hope yet. It ain't over 'til AF shows her ugly face.

And the frustration is so normal. . . we have all been there. Me, I'm there most months! Hang in there.

Soulmate. . . I know I just joined the WC group right before you took a break. But it is nice to have your expertise in the thread again. I don't' think anyone would take it as a "know it all". We are lucky to have you back. I hope the break did you a world of good.

Ok...I did a stupid thing tonight and now I have upset myself so much that I can't sleep. I got in bed to watch CSI and when it was over, I took my temp. I don't really know why I did, but I did. It was 97.6 - down from 98.1 this morning.:( Of course, I have no idea how taking my temp tonight even relates to what it will be in the morning, but I have successfully upset myself. I am now an emotional wreck, and to be honest, I have been for days. I knew I had been moody and when I had my breakdown tonight, DH gently (thank goodness) asked me why I thought I had been so emotional all week. I don't know...except that I am just so afraid of being let down. We were so "on" this cycle - I O'd normally for me, we had excellent timing, etc. I never thought it would be this hard, emotionally. And I know that we haven't been TTC for as long as many others, and I quite honestly don't know how some of you keep such a great attitude - you amaze me and I admire you for that. I am just a mess - a crying, blubbering mess.

I am sorry to be such a downer. DH is trying to console me, but he just doesn't understand. Hell, I don't understand. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest. Maybe I will be able to get some sleep now.

I'm sorry, Kathy. I am sorry it is hitting you so hard right now.

It has been said so many times here and on other websites, and people have told me "don't say you are trying. Just relax and it will happen..." Frankly, I'm tired of hearing that. I think those of us here are a slightly different type of person. We comletely understand how important and life changing the decision to have a baby is and did not enter into the decision lightly. This makes it hard to "lighten up," "just quit thinking about it," or "relax and let it happen when it happens." If we are going to all the trouble to chart then clearly the choice to TTC wasn't a casual one made by someone who is ready but dosn't really care if they get PG now or later.

I think your disappointment right now can be viewed as a goood sign that you are 100% ready to have baby, and that when you do, your baby will be so loved and appreciated. I try to look at it like getting engaged. You can wait and wait and hint to your BF that you want to get married, and waiting for the ring may seem like it is taking forever, but once you get it you quickly forget the wait.

I'm sorry if this sounds preachy. It is late and I am just trying to be optimistic for you. Good luck, and *hugs*!

Kathy - YAY! I'm glad that the temp is still up!!!

So, I'm still waiting to ovulate-- I think. I have yet to get a positive OPK-- but my nipples are killing me (sorry if that's TMI) and have been for the last 3 days-- and this morning, when I got back from the gym, I realized I was spotting! WTF??!!

I talked to the Dr. yesterday (about my u/s on Thursday) and he said that it didn't look like there was a lot going on. WHAT? I'm so very very confused! Especially since there were definitely follicles growing. (which I know doesn't mean I'll ovulate, but it's not like my ovaries were empty). We ended the conversation with him asking me to give him weekly updates on what was going on-- if I get a positive OPK, etc. There's obviously not a whole lot I can do about this- and for that reason (only) I'm just going to be patient. He did say if nothing in 2 weeks (if I don't get AF) we would figure out a new plan- either up my dosage or try something else. *sigh*

I'm not giving up on ovulating either though! I know some people just miss their OPK surge-- and I could be one of those people this month...so until I get a temp rise, the BDing continues!

I hope everyone else is having more success than me :D

ETA: I removed some of the CM data and FF gave me dotted crosshairs on CD13....Ummm??? Is that even possible? I don't think it is, since the u/s was on CD 14-- and I still had an abundance of follicles hanging out in my ovaries! This PROVES that FF is on crack :)

16 DPO....another BFN. :( I am still taking the progesterone so my super long LP is officially NOT b/c I am pg. I'm sure of it now. If only AF would appear. I know that if I call my dr and tell him all of this, he will tell me to keep taking the prog until 18 DPO and then stop. I kind of want a blood test just to confirm that I am not pg (in case I am one of those people who just doesn't get a + w/ a HPT) b/c I am still having tons of pg symptoms! I'll call him tomorrow and see what he says.

Silver lining about not being pg this month...I won't be a 40 wk pg bridesmaid at my friends wedding at the end of May! ;) That's something to be happy about!

Yeah for the high temp, Polkadot!!! All crossables crossed for you.

UTChick-I think one of the nice things about this place is that you don't have to apologize or feel embarrassed about getting emotional. We all have them at one time or another --especially during the 2WW. I know my DH has no clue how to handle me during the 2WW. He tries to apply logic to the situation. I keep trying to explain to him that after we've known each other for 5 years that he should have figured out by now that I am not logical! Esp. when it comes to TTC.

Babylove--so sorry about the BFN. You aren't out of the game yet. I'll be joining you in the progesterone-induced "high hopes" club next cycle (that is, unless you get some good news in the next few days.) Fingers crossed!

Sorry I haven't checked in for a while. It's so hard to keep up with the thread! I've been reading but was overwhelmed with the thought of trying to do proper SO's. Thanks for those who have stalked my chart. :) It looks pretty good on the surface (especially with my temp jump today) but I just can't imagine that I'm pg considering I took an HPT this morning and it was a BFN at 15 DPO. The only thing that I can hold onto is that maybe I O'd a day or two later than what FF called? Who knows. I kind of feel like AF is on the way but I don't know for sure. I've decided that I won't take anymore HPT's at least until Friday but I don't think I'll have to wait that long because the witch will probably show up today. :(

Congrats to Kelly and Sarah and Ryan!!

Hi gals.

Threadmistress, please move me to "waiting to O". I'm just spotting at this point but AF is right around the corner.

This was our fourth cycle of "really" trying, but I've been off BCP for over a year now. I tried to take it easy this month and didn't fully chart. I knew when I o'd (I get terrible o pains) and I occasionally checked cm. It helped a little and I wasn't quite as obsessed. That being said, I am still really bummed.

Just out of curiosity, can you ladies post how long you all have been trying? Please tell me four months isn't that long.

cat_loverpq: I really think I get more anxious pre-O than I do after O. All that BDing and temp-watching is enough to drive a girl crazy.

jjsanner: Are you sure AF is coming? I hate to fuel the fire of hope when you've already come to terms with the end of this cycle, but spotting doesn't always mean AF will soon arrive. Anyway, I got PG my second cycle TTCing after BCP but that ended in June. I'm now on my third cycle since the miscarriage. I keep telling myself that I'm still in the "normal" range for TTCing without a successful pregnany, but that proves little solace when AF arrives. I know four months can feel like an eternity...

Edited b/c I forgot to congratulate Kelly! Happy & healthy 9 months!!!
