I am going on cycle 10 of ttc. I am going to make an appointment and fudge a little on how long we have been trying. My question though is do I make an appointment with my regular OBGYN?????

Yep, you go to your ob/gyn and tell him or her how long it's been. They'll give you some choices at that point. You can start testing or get a referral to a specialist (an RE).
Some ob/gyns feel comfortable just beginning treatment without testing or sending you to a specialist, but you can choose what you want to do. Since the testing is what tells you the problems, beginning treatment first is a huge gamble that it's even going to help you personally at all, isn't making the problem worse, or isn't just a waste of time & money. But it comes down to what you're comfortable with. These are really good things to think over BEFORE the ob/gyn appt, and to discuss with your DH. He's got to know to expect to do an SA, too. But you'll have to make some decisions at the appt, so you'll want to have some idea of what you may want to do, and what questions you have, before you go in.

Jody - If you do decide to just jump to an RE, I thought I'd let you know that I liked Dr Attaran. She's at the Cleveland Clinic. The real love for me was the nurses that work there. They are wonderful. Always prompt in getting back to you, very knowledgable, etc. Those nurses are *very* unlike the treatment that my regular OBs office nurses are like. They are nice enough with pregnancy, but I think they are completely at a loss when it comes to handling infertility patients. Good luck! :)

We went staright to an RE after 6 months of TTC. I was a staunch charter and knew that something must be wrong. I skipped the OB step entirely, I wanted to go straight to the person who knew the most. Sure enough, we found out that DH has a low sperm count.
Also depends on your health plan in some cases. I was not able to see an RE without a referral from my OB/GYN.
