Paris Hilton and Greek Lover Boy Call it Quits

"I'm sad to announce that I've called off my engagement. Over the last couple months I've realized that this is the right decision for me. We remain best of friends, and I'll always love him. I hope people will respect my privacy during this emotional time," Hilton told the magazine.

Hilton's publicist did not immediately return a call from The Associated Press.

Hilton, 24 and Latsis, 22, became engaged in the spring.

"I'm so in love and grateful to have found such an honest and loyal person," she told Us Weekly at the time. "I feel like we were meant to be, and I'm happy to have found someone to spend the rest of my life with. He's amazing in every way."

Latsis gave the 24-year-old hotel heiress a 24 carat, $5 million diamond engagement ring. It was not immediately clear what would happen to the ring.

Hmmmm...can't say that I didn't see it coming. I remember at one time there was speculation about where they would live. I can't imagine Paris Hilton NOT living in the US somewhere where she can be seen at all times.

Seeing as how his wealthy and influential parents had flat out forbidden him to marry her and disapproved of the relationship in every way, this comes as no real shock.

Evidently, the ring belongs to KATHY HILTON!! Paris L. never bought Paris H. a ring because his parents wouldn't allow him to use their money to purchase one (since they disapproved of the relationship). So, Paris has been wearing a ring that belongs to her mother.

Ok, just had to say, I'm nosy. I looked at that pic of Nikki & Kevin and thought "wow, he's much shorter with her than my DH is with me" (we're the same height, but in any kind of shoes, I'm taller. Then I look further, ok, she's in heels, that accounts for 2 of the 4-5 inches she's taller than him, then I look further and it doesn't even look like he's on the floor, but perched on something behind them (look closely at his feet), then I get really nosy. Per his IMDB biography, he's supposedly 5'6", and per hers, she's 5'7". An inch, yeah right. I picked her at about 5'7", but he's a shorty, no matter how he slices it and he shouldn't be ashamed of his "maybe" 5'4" stature.

Just had to say it, and yep, I'm darn nosy, and a dork! :D

I just heard on the news that She-Paris is now dating another Greek shipping heir worth more than He-Paris. Apparently this guy also dated Mary Kate Olsen at some point...they didn't say a name and I'm not up on celebrity gossip, so I don't know who it is.
