Welcome to our new thread! Post away!
Sabriel
09-29-2005, 09:23 PM
Please let me know if I missed anything from the previous thread! I apologize in advance if I did.
My symptoms seem less today. Not much cramping and not running to the bathroom as much. AF is officially late as of yesterday! That makes this all seem a little more real.
Have a good night ladies!

Just checking in to the new thread! Sabriel, thanks for taking over the threadmistress duties. I hope that the former one has a healthy pregnancy and is able to join us soon!
No symptoms for me to speak of yet. I'm starting to get sore bbs and I'm a little worried that they're going to explode soon. I can't remember when that happened last time but I'm packing all button-down blouses for my trip next week and I'm afraid that I won't be able to fit in them!
I'm going to call my midwife today for an appointment and also to ask about any special precautions I should be taking on my trip to Malaysia. Last time I went I took Immodium and Cipro in case I got traveler's diarrhea or dysentery, but I don't think I can take those while pg.

Hello ladies! I'm so ready for the weekend! I'm hoping that the test results come back today, but I have to deal with the fact that it could be Monday.
I had a dentist appt this morning and they wanted to take x-rays, so I had to tell them the news. It's funny to think that the dentist is one of the few people who know! :D
Thanks Sabriel for taking over as threadmistress!
Sabriel
09-30-2005, 09:28 AM
It's my pleasure ladies. I hope our original threadmistress will join us when she feels more comfortable.
I'm feeling pretty nauseous since last night. I was afraid that I wasn't going to keep my dinner down! This morning I was still feeling sick. I made myself drink an instant breakfast shake and some toast. I do feel better now that I have eaten something.
Orange My bbs are already bigger. Only 2 of my bras still fit. They do not need to be any bigger! I hope your midwife can give you something so you don't get sick on your trip next week.
rene' I had to call and cancel my appointment to have my wisdom teeth taken out. It was strange to have to tell someone I don't know that I am pregnant when hardly anyone else knows. I had to tell her, though, because they have a 24 hour cancellation policy and I would've been charged if I didn't have a good excuse!

Yay!! Nice new thread! Thanks! Sabriel! Yay for no AF!!! Crazy, isn't?
Orange-Sounds like a good idea taking to your doc about your trip! How long are you going to be gone? I hope the m/s doesn't hit!!! :)
rene -You should call your doc about noon to see if your results are in. Maybe if you call they will rush them for you. I hope you get them today!
The nurse called at 5:10 and said all the doctors had left and she couldn't inerpret the results. They would have to call me in the morning. I asked if she could at least tell me what the number was...I can't believe it, but she did. 1,274 72 hours ago it was 588. As far as I can tell that is good. It is supposed to double within 48-72 hours. So, I am good, right?
I took a HPT this morning and finally got a DARK line. That makes me feels so much better. I am feeling pretty pukey, but not too bad. My bbs are sore and I am so thirsty!!! I am excited!!
rene'
09-30-2005, 10:45 AM
ajlanden ~ That number sounds great to me! I think I will probably call them to try to push them a little bit. It would be nice to know before the weekend.

Well, I was charting to avoid, but now I'm an antigrad. I can't say that dh and I are ready for this, but we're the type who may not ever have been ready, so it's probably for the best that it happened this way.
I still haven't made a doctor's appointment. My ob/gyn retired a couple years ago, and since then I've been doing everything at my General Practitioner's. So do you think I should make my first appointment with her or should I go straight to the ob? This probably shouldn't be such a difficult question, but it has me stymied.
Symptoms: sore and firm bbs, headache, tiredness, some achiness in lower back and hips, bloated feeling, occasional ravenous hunger. No nausea (yet).

Finally talked to the doc...said my numbers were fine, I already knew that. I have an u/s scheduled on Tuesday. I am scared out of my mind. He sent us for one last week and they saw nothing and he assumed I had already m/c. I don't want to go through that again. I hope we see the little heart flickering!!! I also hope we get a good EDD. Good morning girls!
rene' Sorry you didn't hear from the doctor. :( Monday is getting closer!
LindsaySD Yay! Congrats!
ajlanden Excellent numbers! Hope you get to see a little heart beating on Tuesday. :) You can definitely stay if you are a May mommy. I have no problem with that.
Graffy I am not sure about which doctor you should go to first. Maybe call youy GP's office and see what they recommend?
The nausea is definitely kicking in over here. I get really nauseous right before meals. Seeing and thinking about food makes it worse. I then proceed to choke a little bit of something down all the time worrying that it will come back up. Then, about 30 mintutes later I feel much better. I think I am going to make myself start snacking on crackers or something throughout the day. Oh and going to the grocery store yesterday was NOT fun either. I may be sending DH by himself for the next few weeks.

Welcome Lindsay and Graffy!!
ajlanden Great news on your numbers!! I'm going to be gone almost a week. I get home on Friday night. I should really be packing right now!! Oh, and if you don't mind, I'm going to add you to my FL on LJ (I'm Orangefur) since I'm seeing you all over now between this thread, the WOHM thread and Dal's LJ.
Sabriel, I'm sorry to hear that you're having nausea already! Everyone is entitled to at least a week or two of enjoying the idea of being pregnant before the symptoms kick in! I hope it does not get worse for you. I had only very mild nausea last time and keping something in my stomach was definitely the key to feeling OK.
I called my MW's office yesterday to set up appointments and to talk to someone about this trip. I made my inital appointment to do paperwork and get blood drawn for November 3 (which is also my wedding anniversary!) and my first appt with my midwife is on November 8. Unfortunately, my DH has an all-day seminar that he's running that day and won't be able to go with me to the appointment. I was going to try to reschedule it for the following week, but then I realized I can't go that day, so I guess I'm going on my own :( We may be abl to hear the heartbeat at that appointment so I was really hoping we would both be able to go, but I guess not.
Noone ever called me back from the MW's office about my trip, so I'm just going to hope that I don't get sick! I don't think that I will - I wasn't even super careful last time and I was fine.

Baby Lust Hi! I am so thrilled for you!
Orange Hope you have a good trip!
Note to self: Do not eat with anyone that I don't want to know that I am pregnant! We went to lunch with my mom yesterday. I did well until after we were done eating. The smell and sight of the food made me so nauseous. I tried to hide it, but one look at my face and my mom said "is there something you want to tell me?" Not exactly how I wanted her to find out, but oh well.

ajlanden Sorry about the spotting. I really hope everything is OK. Sending ::hugs:: your way!!
Sabriel Oh, no!! Atleast she knows now and you don't have to keep it a secret anymore. I had all of these fun ways to tell DH and my family, but I cannot keep a secret!
Feeling great, here. No MS, anything like that. I felt great with DD, so hoping this goes the same way. I think exercising helps. I never want to, but it definately improves my energy. I'm starting to have problems with food...nothing that makes me really sick, but everything sounds gross. I've been loving cottage cheese and salads, but nothing else sounds good.
I did end up telling my brother about the baby. He is SUCH a good uncle to Caroline, and I knew he would be excited. I didn't want to bc his fiance is a little on the nutsy side and has a tendancy to ruin everything I do. I'm not exaggerating...she really does. My wedding, my first pregnancy...everything. But I decided that he should share in our happiness no matter who he's marrying.
I'm off to exercise...hope ya'll are feeling great!!

This may be a little premature, as we just found out this morning, but I think I'm ready to join the June Mommies thread.
Stats:
Me - Kim (28)
DH - Aaron (28)
Married - 09/03/04
TTC - Put on hold until the New Year (oops)
BFP - 10/2/05
EDD - 06/10/05 (although not positive, not charting)
Gender Predictin - Not there yet, just hoping it's a healthy baby.
DH and I had originally planned to start TTC in September/05 but then put it on hold for a couple of reasons. Low and behold, we now find ourselves expecting and are both cautiously THRILLED.
We are planning on taking another test tomorrow morning, but it was a pretty positive test.
So, good luck and healthy and happy pregnancy to us all (does it ever feel nice to say that!)

Welcome Mrs. Brownie!
Well, my BB's are definately "swollen and tender." I have to say, I did have a small scare today. When I wiped (sorry TMI), I saw blood (red blood). Not very much, very slight and only when I wiped a couple of times. Then, nothing else. Party of me was scared, but part of me thought, I am having way too many symptoms for this to be a bad thing. So, knock on wood, nothing else has happend. It was just barely there and never made it to my panties. I'm hoping it was "normal."
I get my quant results back tomorrow. I can't wait!

Sabriel-I had to laugh at your mom story. Mom's seem to know everything!!
Lindsay-Sorry about the yucky FSIL. At least you have a great bro right?
rene-Isn't seeing blood the worst? I am sure you are fine, especially if it has stopped!
As for me, still "bleeding"...I wouldn't even consider it spotting anymore...it is bleeding. :( I've already mourned this baby once, but have a feeling I'll be doing it again. I have an hour until the doc opens. I am hoping they will get me in to see where the bleeding is coming from. I still have an u/s tomorrow, but don't know if I will make it that long. I am trying to stay upbeat!!
Hope everyone is feeling well today!!

O.K., here I am again. I talked to the RN again about the blood I saw and she said not to worry, that it's more than likely fine since there wasn't very much and no cramping associated with it. She also said that when I come in for my appointment on the 18th that we probably won't be able to hear the heartbeat, but will set up a sonogram so that we can see it. I will be so relieved when that happens!

I am very nervously joinging this group. I miscarried 6 months ago, my doctor had told me that when I were to get PG again that I would need to be on Progesterone for the first 12 weeks to decrease the odds of miscarriage again. I got a BFP on Saturday monring and then again this morning. I called and left a message for my doctor this morning and I am waiting to hear back from them. I had quite a bit of cramping Saturday night/Sunday morning which made me very nervous but I haven't had any since then. I am praying that this pregnancy sticks!

BabyLust No morning sickness with her either. I have been EXTREMELY fortunate. I know that some women battle it for months, but I try to really eat well and exercise, and I think that's what helps me. I eat 6 small meals a day...nothing too heavy or greasy. I eat lots of vegtables and salads, and I live on cottage cheese. All I really struggle with is the fatigue and emotions.

ajlanden ~ Just wanted to say that I'm so sorry for your loss. Unfortunately I don't know the right thing to say at this point, but wish you all the best in the future.
sarahncraig ~ Welcome to the June Mommies thread. I remember you from your planning journal on the other board. Wishing you a very Healthy 9 months.
Well, I just got my blood test results and the nurse started with a 'Congratulations!' so it's confirmed that way. My beta's were in the 2000's which is within the normal range for me.
I did have my due date revised.
Threadmistress...can you change my due date to May 31/06.
Hopefully that means I can still stay here, but I guess I was a little off. I guess it will be confirmed again once we go for an ultrasound.
Symptoms ~ I haven't had any problems with hunger, as a matter of fact just the opposite. Nothing I eat tastes remotely good to me right now, including my favourites. So, I'm not really eating alot actually. My biggest symptoms right now are cramps, sore nipples (and they are getting larger everyday) really tired in the afternoon and a very sore back when trying to sleep.
Dr.'s Appointment ~ DH and I are exploring our options right now. It we decide to go with the OB/GYN, I'm supposed to go back in for my first appointment at the 10 week mark (end of October.) But we are thinking of going with a Midwife. I've made an initial consultation with them to introduce ourselves on October 17th.
Hopefully we can make a decision from there, but the more I read, the more I'm leaning towards going with the midwife. But will know more on October 17th.

I'm so nervous. My RN just called to tell me that my Dr. wants me to come in and get my HCG levels checked again to make sure they are doubling. I think it's awesome that they are being proactive, but I'm really nervous about the results. This will really tell me something, I'm just hoping it's good news.
I go in tomorrow at 3:00 and they are going to check me for a UTI and go ahead and do all the bloodwork that they would normally do at my first appointment since I will be there getting poked already.

rene Just try to stay positive and know that everything will be alright. Maybe it's just a normal thing your doctor does??
MrsBrownie I have heard wonderful things about both drs. and midwives. I don't think you can go wrong...it's just your personal decision. I had an OB, but two friends used midwives and were very pleased with the experience. One of them is my drs. daughter-in-law.

MrsBrownie Yay for good blood results! You can definitely stay here. :) I chose to go with a midwife. I went to her for my annual last month so that I could meet her. I really liked her and the birth center. It is in a cozy old house. Good luck with your decision.
My nausea been gone since yesterday. I hope it stays away! Now I am just very very tired.

Thanks everyone! I know she's ordering the test because of my previous m/c's. On my second m/c, she did it, also. So, part of me is actually happy that she is requesting it. We talked about this before and she said she would request the tests to put my mind at ease. That was a couple of years ago, but I guess she pulled my file. Part of me is nervous, so I'm just going to think positive!
MrsBrownie ~ I'm glad your tests turned out o.k.! You can definately stay, after all, you could still be a June momma!:p

DH: Jared, 23
Married: 8/2/03
TTC: April 2005
BFP: 10/04/05
EDD: 06/11/05
Gender Prediction: DH says girl; I don't know yet

My appointments: October 24 (nurse visit and bloodwork); November 1 (seeing a PA; my doctor is booked until the end of November as she is getting married this month and will be gone). I don't need a PAP since I had my yearly last Wed!
I've been a bit crabby and nauseous lately so this morning I took a test. I forgot the first time I peed so no FMU but I got a positive within a minute anyway so I'm hoping my hormone levels are good.
So far, I'm hungry and HOT. Went to Target with DS tonight and was having hot flashes like a menopausal woman..YUCK! I'm tired and a bit crabby. I'm also feeling more gas and some bloating. Plus, leg hair is growing faster and I didn't get my pre-AF zit.
Anyway, so happy to be here and with you girls! Sending you all sticky vibes!

Welcome to Kaeden's Mommy!! I am so with you on the hot flashes. They have been killing me. I literally stand under the air vent fanning the cool air at me.
I am definately dragging this morning. I'm so glad DD decided to sleep in a little. She normally gets up around 6:30, but it's after 7 and no sound from her. Makes my morning a little easier!

Thanks jmvan74!
I also get hot really easily. This morning I woke up sweating and we have a ceiling fan, oscillating fan (that is straight on me) and we turn the a/c down to 68 degrees at night!
I'm feeling pretty nauseous this morning. My appt. is at 3:00 to get my bloodwork done. I can't wait to get the results.

Rene, Good luck at your appt! Can't wait to hear the results!
DH and I went to B&N last night and bought a baby name book and I also bought The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy. So far it is really good and quite funny! DH is totally into this! When I left for work this morning, he was sitting on the couch paging through the name book :) So cute!

Thanks girls!
I'm feeling a bit nauseous in the AM and then again right before bed but no puking yet. Let's hope it stays away. With DS I was so sick I was on Zofran and had to have an IV because I was dehydrated.
I didn't sleep too well last night. I was exhausted and crashed hard around 10:30 but I wake up to pee and then DS wanted a bottle at 5am. DH came home from work at 7am and I got to sleep until about 8 but then I was up. I'm off work today and hoping to have a relaxing day.
sabriel ~ Great that you're not nauseous. I think that's one of the worst things about being pg.
LindsaySD ~ I hear you on dragging. DS is such a busy kid - I'm exhausted from chasing after him. I think our little ones are close to the same age. DS just started walking and is into EVERYTHING. No chance to sit down.
I'm actually a bit nervous how I will be a mom and be pg. Especially if this time around is anything like last time.
Rene ~ So jealous you get an appointment now. I have to wait another 19 days! Be sure to come back with an update!
Amanda ~ I'm so happy we're here together and due only 2 days apart! I bought a baby name book last night too! DH was looking through it this morning. We're already arguing about names!
QOTD ~ Do you plan on finding out the gender of your baby? If so, will you tell family and friends what you're having? Are you sharing names or keeping them a secret?
We would like to find out, I think. With DS we tried to find out but he wouldn't show it off so we were surprised. I really liked that but keep thinking how much easier it is to prepare when you know. If we find out we'll tell if it's a boy or girl but will not tell names this time. I like having some sort of surprise!
Baby Lust
10-05-2005, 08:49 AM
QOTD: We will not be finding out. I'm not sure if we will share the name or not... no one else is in the childbearing range of life, so we wouldn't have to worry about it being taken. :)
LindsaySD
10-05-2005, 09:08 AM
QOTD I have to find out what it is. I am a horrible secret keeper, and I hate surprises, so I'll tell everyone after I find out. This time around, I have no preference on the sex. I HAD to have a girl, and now that I do, it just doesn't matter to me. We've already picked out our names. Before DD (Caroline Leigh), we chose four names. She took girl #1, so boy #1 and girl #2 are left over:
John Russell after my mom's dad (William Russell) or Ava Catherine and call her Catherine or Cate.
Kaeden's Mommy I, too, have worried about being a mom and pg. I was on bedrest for 2 months with DD...pre-eclampsia and vertigo. I just can't do that again! But what really scares me most is having two babies under two years old. I don't know how my mother did it...she had 3 under 3! I know you just do it, but I am very nervous.
Baby Lust I saw that book on Saturday night but ended up with "Your Pregnancy Week by Week." Is it worth buying, too?
Baby Lust
10-05-2005, 09:11 AM
Lindsay, The book is very funny so far, but I don't know if it will be as helpful to a 2nd timer or not... so far I have read about the pgcy symptoms and stuff... I haven't gotten past that. When I read a little more, I will let you know what's in it so you can decide. :)

QOTD ~ Do you plan on finding out the gender of your baby? If so, will you tell family and friends what you're having? Are you sharing names or keeping them a secret?
We want to find out what we are having, but I'm not sure if we will tell anyone. I don't think I want to tell anyone the names either. We know that if we have a boy, we want his middle name to be Carl after DH's father. So far I like Jackson Carl & Aiden Carl. I have no idea on girl's names. I have two DD's, one has my first name (Rene') has her middle name and the other has my DH's middle name (Christian) as her middle name. So, no ideas yet.
sarahncraig
10-05-2005, 09:57 AM
QOTD: We will probably find out the gender but won't be sharing the name. I know a few people who didn't share the name and I think that's a good idea. I don't want some random person's critique of our child's name. I did hear that a good way to try out your kid's name is by introducing yourself as that name to someone you don't know, like at a bar or at a mutual friend's house. That way you can see/hear their reaction without sharing your reasoning.

10-05-2005, 10:31 AM
QOTD We will be finding out the sex for sure. We found out with DD and I know that I wouldn't be able to stand not knowing. Plus I had so much fun decorating my DD's room before she was born, I want to do that again with this one. (I like our nurseries to be gender specific) :) As far as names go, we let everyone know ahead of time with DD because we were using family names. I am not sure if we will tell this time, we have no idea on names yet.

Just got back from my first doctor's appointment. Took only 10 minutes! He took my weight, blood pressure and some blood. That's it. Oh yeah, and of course had me pee in a cup and I'm indeed pregnant. YIPPEE!!! We told our parents last night and they were absolutely hysterical with excitement. Thanks everyone for letting me stay. I do figure I will be a June Mommy, but by my LMP I'm due in May.
QOTD ~ Dh and I are a little torn on this one. Dh hates suprises and wants to know what we are having before hand. I, on the other hand, would like it to be a surprise. I think there are so few real suprises in life, that I'd like this to be one of them (although not that it's less of a surprise if you find out before hand, I've just always envisioned the dr. calling out "It's a ..." Although I'm sure there will be much more discussion on this as time progresses.
As for names, this is a tough one too. DH and I picked out boys names years ago, but recently my BF named her son a derivative of the name we chose. So now it's up in the air. I think we will probably not tell anyone the names we pick, as there are too many opinions and too many names that friends have already used off our short list.
I would also like to go into the hospital with 3 or 4 choices for each (boy & girl) and make a decision once we see our child for the first time. But that's me...we will see what DH wants.
Hi girls:
Welcome Sarancraig and Kaeden's mommy... long time no chat...:)
Ok so my due date is going tobe June 1st.. HOLY COW... :)
But I am having issues.. and I am really down.. here is the situation... well the other day I was telling you all that I had some cramping. Well the dr. wanted me to come in she did a sonogram.. only to see that I have a corpeus leteum cycst which is about the size of a golf ball. And she is not sure if that is causing the pain or if in fact I have an ecotopic pregnancy.. (for those of you not sure what that is.. tubual pregnancy).... and because I am only 5 weeks it is so hard to see anything. I will be going back on Friday for more blood work up and another sonogram.
In addition, I am kind of mad at myself.. because I was so upset when I got the news.. and my mom called as I was going to work.. and like a child I started crying and I told her about the pregnancy and DH and I WANTED SO BADLY TO SURPRISE everyone... but I just heard her voice and I broke down.:o
Anyway, I did put a post out there re: the ecotopic pregnancy or the cysts but I have not heard anything... any thoughts would be so much appreciated.
PS fof the QOTD: DH and I do not want to know the sex.. but so hard... 9 months .. LONG TIME.. .:)

Ryan, Keeping you and your DH and your little one in my prayers! I do believe DS from the charting thread had an ectopic but I can't be 100% positive on that. You may check her stats... I hope you get some information on it so you are informed, but I REALLY hope that's not what it is!! And don't worry about breaking the news to your mom that way. I always imagined telling them together. :( Oh well, i am sure he will be thrilled, and that's all that matters! My dad LOVES kids, especially babies. :)
I forgot to tell you that I also bought The Girlfriends' Guide to Pregnancy. I am about 2/3 of the way through. It is mostly funny, and I think you have to take most of what she says with a grain of salt.
I also bought Your Pregnancy Week By Week. I really like this book and think it is very informative.
I also bought Baby Bargains, which I have heard is helpful.

State Farm gives free books to expecting families. They used to send out "The Mayo Clinic's Complete Book of Pregnancy & Baby's First Year". I went to their webstie and looks like they have changed the book that they are giving out. Now it is "American Academy of Pediatrics Caring For Your Baby and Young Child: Birth to age 5". I just ordered it, the site says that it should arrive by mail in 3-4 weeks. Here is the website if anyone else is interested in getting this free book.

You don't have to have State Farm insurance to get it. The user name is "good" and the password is "neighbor". Once you log in click on "Order Online" and fill out your information.

Wow, this thread is growing like crazy! I'm happy to see a fellow JAS2003 member here as well, taraw!!
I'm on my way home from Malaysia tomorrow and I'm so ready to get back! Luckily I am not having any m/s and only a little fatigue so far, so it hasn't been to hard to do what I have to. The worst part has been that I came down with a cold the first day. I went to a pharmacy to find something to take and I got sudafed (except a different brand) because I thought I remembered that it was safe for pregnancy. Well, after I took it I looked it up and it is a category C drug! I'm so mad at myself for taking it without researching it first. I only took it twice so hopefully it's ok.
QOTD from yesterday - I think we're leaning toward finding out the sex. We didn't for my first pregnancy and we don't regret it, but I think for the second one we will so we can plan a little better. If it's a boy, I can sell a ton of DD's clothes on eBay and buy new stuff for the baby. :p

I must admit that I'm so envious of the women that have received their blood tests back and are so reassured.
I had an initial blood test to confirm that I was in fact PG, but now I'm wondering if I should get myself in to get a follow-up to make sure my levels are still progressing.
I wonder though, if things were wrong, would you continue to feel symptoms? I've been lucky so far that I haven't had any m/s, but I do have other symptoms, including feeling very tired and extremely sore BB's.
I feel really good, but every now and again start to wonder...anyone else feeling like that? Is it worth going back to the dr. and asking for another blood test or ultrasound?

I totally understand how everyone is feeling. When I had my first 2 DD's, I went in for a pg test and that was it until my first Doctor's appt. Even then, they didn't check for the heartbeat the first appt. It was no big deal to me then. However, since I suffered two m/c's and since I've gotten older and a lot more knowledgable (via the wc), I am so much more paranoid. It's almost like ignorance was bliss, ya know? I'm sure that's the only reason I'm getting the appointments and sonos is because of the m/c's.
I hope I'm not making anyone feel bad.:( I really don't mean to. I'm just relieved and still nervous.
I'm sure you are all doing fine. We just have to wait this out and like Baby Lust said, obsess together!

I hope everyone will forgive me about being so bad about keeping up with the thread. My excuse is that my only opportunity to be online is while I'm at work and no one is watching. ;) I hope everyone is doing well!
I have been feeling a little queasy the last couple days. I haven't actually puked or anything, but this morning on my drive to work I realized that puking was a distinct possibility. So I tried to figure out what I would do if I absolutely had to throw up while I was driving. I hope that never happens, but maybe I should start leaving a bucket in the car. And I'm seriously falling out of my bras already!
QOTD: I think if I have an opportunity to find out the sex that I won't be able to say no. I like surprises to an extent, but I'd really like to be a little more prepared if possible. DH doesn't really have an opinion either way (same thing he says when I run possible girls names by him.)
I never even went to the doctor for a blood test! Was I supposed to? Seeing as how this is my first pg, and it wasn't planned, I feel a little clueless sometimes. I had a super dark line on my pg test, so I figured that was enough! At this point I might as well wait 'til my first appointment in a week and a half though.
MrsBrownie
10-06-2005, 10:54 AM
I wanted to say the same, it has nothing to do with you making us feel bad Rene (well, not me anyways.)
I guess I am just reading too much and being a little paranoid. I mean, I've had a blood test to confirm that I'm PG and I haven't had any spotting, so there's no worry there...
So what's my problem? Just reading too much I think and it's making me paranoid. Ignorance is definitely bliss, at least for that first 12 weeks, I think.
DH and I go in to see the midwife a week from Monday, so hopefully they will be able to check things out (I will be 8 weeks by then) and assure us that everything is alright. Geesh...who would've thought that the first few weeks would be this worrisome, just preparing me for a lifetime I guess.
And Rene ~ I'm so glad to hear that things are looking so good for you. It must be so reassuring to see the H/B on the ultrasound. We'll all be right there with you shortly.

I think it is totally normal for all of us to obsess and worry...that's part of being a mom! This is my 2nd pg, and I am still feeling the way ya'll do. I know 100% I'm pg, but if the bbs don't hurt as bad or I don't feel as tired, I start to have doubts, and that is completely normal...and what we have to look forward to for the next how many years??

I must say the only reason my dr.'s have been seeing me is due to the cramping... and I will be going yet again tomorrow morning. ... I am glad to be going but it is bittersweet..... kinda nervous... and I HATE GETTING THOSE NEEDLES....
Knock on wood no morning sickness.. but can I ask you guys a question.... does anyone feel like they are bloated or have put on a few lbs already? I am not sure if my stomach is bloated because of the cyst or if this is supposed to happen.. Monday I will be 6 weeks... any thoughts... and I really have not been eating more then normal... (but my dr. will not let me go to the gym right now... so maybe that is why... )
I also get some mild heart burn once in awhile... like right now I feel like my prenatals are giving me some....????? But I did notice yesterday I had a banana after lunch and I was fine all day.. maybe that is the trick...;)

UGH, yes! About the only thing that has helped ease the bloating for me is taking a walk. Unbuttoning the pants feels good, too, unless your shirt doesn't come down far enough to hide it.

Well, my paranoia has gotten the best of me...and I was really hoping not to be paranoid while PG.
But, I called the midwife and said that I was experiencing some cramping and was a little concerned (and possibly just being paranoid) and they've arranged for me to go in and get a second beta test...just to put my mind at ease.
She said the cramping could just be related to my uterus expanding, or it could be due to miscarriage, but the only way to tell was blood tests.
So, if I can make it into the lab before the end of day, I will get results by tomorrow. Otherwise, I will have to wait until Monday to find out. So, I'm going to leave work a little earlier than normal and get myself out there.
Although, with so many appointments lately, I'm worried that my office is going to start to get suspicious. Anyone else run into this problem yet?
Hopefully I'm just being a worrier, but at least this will make me feel better.

MrsBrownie ~ I'm sure everything is fine. But, I'm sure it will put your mind somewhat at ease to get the results.
I know what you mean on the appointments. I had to leave last Thursday to have bloodwork done, I left early yesterday for bloodwork, I have a sonogram on Monday morning and then a doctor's appt on the 18th. Luckily, I have two DD's, so I can use them if I need to. (I won't be in, my DD is sick.:)

MrsBrownie Sorry that you are feeling paranoid. I hope the blood test results make you feel better.
I am feeling really bloated too. I have been unbuttoning my pants as soon as I get home! I will have to start walking more. I have been nauseous on and off. This morning I really thought the puking was going to start. Oh, and only 2 of my bras still fit!
Can't wait for my first appointment in 4 days! :D

I feel fine for the most part. I was starving yesterday at about 6pm and had to choke down some food before I got sick. I've been feeling so good that I had to take another test this morning. It was very positive.
Hope you feel better soon Rene.
Hi girls..
Just wanted to update you all.. I had my dr. appt. and everything went super well.
She said that little pumpkin is right where we want it to be..:)... so no more worries about ectopic!!!!
Still have the cyst and she is really not concerned at all about that ... says it is giving the bambino nutrients.... so I will have to wait for that to go away... in the mean time.. still not to exercise... I told her I was dying to do something so she is allowing me to walk on the treadmill and ride the bike... THANK GOODNESS.
I hope all of you are feeling good today!!
PS.. she said I am still very early... she thought my due date would be around June 9th....:)

I am hoping that I can join you guys....I just got my + yesterday and am a little nervous because I am only 12 dpo and the test I took today was a little lighter then yesterday. And Ryan, I'm glad you had a good appointment...I can't wait for mine!
Feeling pretty good today...took the day off work and tried to get some things done at home. Already having a DD, I find it hard to get everything done during the day and have a hard time staying awake after she's asleep. My house was in desperate need of cleaning!!

Still doing okay here. Really tired and emotional. Last night DH said something that would usually be no big deal but I just bawled. I don't even remember what he said!! Oh, well.
What do you girls think about sharing easy, yummy recipes for meals or snacks? I get so tired fo eating the same things over and over when I'm pg. I make a lot of things but since I'm eating more I end up eating more often.
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Kaeden's Mommy I think the recipe idea is great! I am having a really hard time thinking of healthy snacks. I end up eating the same things over and over also. Usually raw veggies or popcorn w/o salt or butter.
I have been very irritable lately. Anything that doesn't come easily sends me over the edge. Poor DH. :o
Welcome Dan's*Girl! I was really really nauseous the first week or so after my BFP. It got better after that. Now it comes and goes and is usually if I haven't eaten. I hope it gets better for you too!

Thanks everyone for the warm wishes! Congrats Dan's*Girl!
I went and had my blood test on Friday and will have a follow-up one on Monday...of course I have taken about a million tests since Thursday and they all have come back with the 2 lines. I broke down and told my mom today...she has been calling every day to find out if I am...I wanted to hold out until next week end when I saw her (she lives in a different state), but she didn't really allow for that.
I think the recipe idea is great. Has anyone found any good nutritional information? Or excercise plans? I would like someone just to tell me you need to eat X and do X....
LindsaySD-I must say your daughter looks very cute! Yeah, it is weird how things work out. I kept reading all of these stats if you are in your early 30s you have a 10-15% chance to get pregnant each month...on average it takes 6.7 months...I think that is why I am a little bit in disbelief (but very happy).
Hope everyone is having a good weekend!!!! Erin

Hello ladies! I hope everyone is having a nice weekend.
We still haven't told anyone. Well, I've told my sister and a good friend. My DH hasn't told anyone. We just want to wait for a little while.
I'm still feeling pretty bad. It's on and off, but about 2 hours ago, I got so sick to my stomach, combine that with being tired and I was not feeling well at all. I took a little nap and feel a little better. However, still feel sick.:( My DD's don't know what to think about it. I'm never sick. So, when I told my DD that I wasn't feeling well, she went out and yelled at her dad, "Mom feels like she is going to throw up!" She's all worried and everything.:)
We have a family get together tomorrow. That ought to be interesting......
Later!

Hi everyone! CONGRATULATION'S to all the June mommies! I was in the June mommies thread in 03/04, and it is tons of fun to be able to talk to women who are going through the same thing as you are. We ttc after having a m/c in May. We were told to wait two cycles, so we did. And here we are pg!:D I haven't gotten the results of my bloodwork yet, but I too have taken a whole bunch of tests! Including a digital, which there is no mistaking a BFP!:D
I have a sil that is pg with twins right now, and my other sil is TTC now. We were pg together with our babies last time too, and had them three months apart!:)
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

rene' So cute that your DD is worried about you!
We went to see my grandparents yesteday. My grandma thinks I am having twin boys. She said that she can tell in my face that I am pregnant.
I am still feeling bloated. I am embarrased to say that is probably because I have already gained 5 pounds. I am trying to walk everyday, and I am drinking my 64 ounces of water. I am also trying to eat healthier. I found some snack ideas on the web. Here is a list of some that sounded good to me:
apple slices with cheddar cheese
fruit - bananas, kiwi, peaches, watermelon, oranges, grapes
whole wheat graham crackers
cottage cheese with pinapple
baked potato or baked sweet potato
raisins and other dried fruits
raw veggies with ranch/cottage cheese dip
non-sugary cereal with milk
peanut butter crackers
I am a pretty picky eater, so there were a lot of ideas that I vetoed. :o
Oh, and I keep forgetting to tell you guys that last I heard about a week ago our previous threadmistress was doing well and she says hi!
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! I am so excited that I am off work tomorrow and have my fist appointment!

Hello all :D
I went for my first u/s today and got to see a baby and a heartbeat so I'm ready to join :D
CC Name: NikosMommy
Me: Lorraine, 37
DH: Brian, 33
Married: 8/7/03
TTC: Weren't really
BFP: 9/25/05
EDD: 6/1/05
Gender Prediction: Girl
Any other children: 3 Angel Babies & Nikolas 8/30/04
So I waited to join to make sure there was in fact a baby and a heartbeat. We've told my sister and father in law. My FIL came up last week to visit us and I bought a shirt for Niko that said, I'm the big brother on it. We had him wear it and finally after about 5 minutes we had to tell my FIL to read his shirt. All he could say is, "is that right"?
We are all happy but very cautious at the same time. I lost my first two angel babies at 8 weeks and the third at 12 weeks. So in a way, I'm kinda jumping the gun here to join. I didn't join Niko's group until 13 weeks. I just figure if I stay positive then hopefully it will be positive.
We are going to find out the sex for sure. I have been so sick the past week. I know if I stay hydrated that I won't be as sick, but even water makes my tummy turn. So I'm just going to try to get through this as best I can. At least with Niko by week 12/13 it was gone. Hopefully this one will follow suit.
So besides my sis and FIL no one else knows and it's going to stay that way until after the first tri, which is Thanksgiving. We'll then go see our family in VA and hopefully wear that shirt again.

Congratulations excitedbride and NikosMommy!
Sabriel ~ Can't wait to hear the results of your appointment!
Thanks Baby Lust ~ Some days are better than others if you know what I mean. I think the cramping is fine as long as there is no spotting with it. I had quite a bit of cramping, but it's starting to taper off now.
Well, I went in for my sonogram this morning along with my DH. She started looking around and mentioned that my bladder wasn't full. They didn't tell me it needed to be. I guess I should have known. Anyway, she showed us the gestational sac, but she couldn't see anything in it. She said it could be because I am too early or my bladder wasn't full. I was so nervous that there was nothing in the sac. So, she had me strip from my waist down and I had to insert a gadget, I'm not sure what it's called. But, it gave an internal sonogram. We were able to see the little baby! We saw the heart beating! I was so excited and relieved. They put the pictures on a cd and the next time I get a sono, they can add pictures to the same cd. The sonogram showed my due date as 6/5/06, but I think I will stick with 6/4/06 for now.
Anyway, it went well. My next appointment is on the 18th.
I hope everyone is having a great day!

Thanks everyone for the welcome :D
Rene' It's called a transvaginal u/s. I had that today. They did tell me my bladder had to be full, 32 oz of water by 7:30 this morning  I think not. So I went in knowing they could do that and saw everything anyway.
They don't give us anything on cd or diskette. They said there were too many law suits from them so they stopped. I did get a pix from them. And I snuck one on my cell and as soon as I figure out how to get it off of there, I'll post it.

Thanks for the tips on cramping girls! I am still very paranoid and am still checking the TP and undies constantly. I wish I would just feel confident that everything is going to be ok and move on with the fun parts! I am strangely light-headed today. Hope it is just because I am hungry! Maybe it will go away after I eat lunch.

Baby Lust- I keep feeling little pinching pains (it doesn't actually hurt) near where I think my ovaries are....I also keep running to the bathroom because I think AF is here.
Rene & Niko- Congrats on the US! That is very exciting!!! I am very jealous! I wish I wasn't so far behind you guys.....I know it is only 2 weeks, but that makes a pretty big difference right now.
Nothing going on with me. I got my blood test done on Friday and am just sitting here waiting for the results to find out my Beta levels. I plan on getting a second one after work today. Since many of you had blood tests, how long did it take to get the results back???? I didn't ask the lab or the dr's office when I should expect the results...last time I had blood work done (this summer as part of a physical) it seemed to take a week...but I am guessing for this it is sooner?
I am also having a hard time trying to figure out what kind of risks I want to take...I hate that there seems to be conflicting info on EVERYTHING! I have cut back from 6+ diet sodas a day to 2, and am working on getting that down to 0-1. But what about other things like highlights, nails, etc?
Also, on the snack idea...I found lots of good things at Target. They had these little cheese and cracker trays (ritz or wheat crackers), those little jello smoothie cups, snack sized bags of almonds...at the grocery store I also bought little snack sized things of apricots and apples.
Hope everyone is doing well! Erin

I heard from my Dr.s office on my bloodwork results. She didn't give me the beta number, just the progesterone, 29.7! She said it was excellent! I had to take prog supps with my first two pgs, so I am taking them again this time as a precautionary. My first appt. is this Thursday and I am to go get my progesterone tested again next week.
My Dr. has ordered my blood work stat, but that seemed to take a couple of days this last time. I would say for normal routine work, it shouldn't be longer than 2days.

excitedbride- very good news!
Thanks everyone for the feedback on your Beta tests. I called after lunch and spoke to the dr. She started with "I am sorry Erin, your Beta is down to 114". I have had only one test and that was on Friday...I thought 114 was high for 12 dpo? Or at least above average according to Beta Base...She then corrected herself and said that it just showed I am in early pregnancy and for me to go ahead and get another test today. I should be happy for the 114 12dpo...right???
rene'
10-10-2005, 02:50 PM
Calla ~ I know there's someplace out there that shows what the levels should be at certain stages, but I could never find a good one. I know that on about 19 dpo, mine was around 1,800. So, that seems feasible since it's supposed to double every 48 hours.
Baby Lust
10-10-2005, 03:07 PM
Calla, My heart sank when I read that your numbers had gone down! I can't imagine what you must have felt! Don't drs know they shouldn't do that to a girl??? Glad everything seems normal and you can get another test! I too have seen graphs out there on beta numbers but can't remember where they are now. Your numbers should double every 48-72 hours, so don't be alarmed if they don't quite double! Good luck!

NikosMommy ~ Congrats and welcome! Glad your appointment went well today! Your son is only 15 days younger than my DS! We'll both have our hands full come June!
Amanda ~ I keep running to the bathroom too but AF is definitely not here! It's all that lovely discharge that you get when you're pg. :p
Calla ~ Glad your numbers are good. My heart dropped when I started reading your post too. Darn doctors... So glad you're here with us!
Rene ~ Yay for seeing the baby and HB! That's such exciting news! I just read today that once you see the HB the chance of m/c is less than 5%. Hope that helps you relax too.
As for me, I'm hanging in there. Peeing a lot, really hungry at night and tired but still don't have much other than that. I holding out for all the bad symptoms at 6 weeks or so. If I remember right that's when it all hit with DS. Anyway, things are well. Anxiously awaiting my appointment - 13 more days until my nurse visit and bloodwork. Why, oh why, does time pass so slowly...
Sabriel
10-10-2005, 07:38 PM
Calla Lilly I don't know anything about betas, but I hope your second test shows that your numbers are much higher! What a scare that must have been.
I had my first appointment this afternoon. Everything went well. DH really liked the midwife, but he is a little skeptical that she didn't do a PG test or an exam (I just had my annual 4 weeks ago). He keeps saying that "the line just wasn't very dark" on the PG test I took when we found out. That was 12 DPO, so maybe I should get another test just so he can see a dark line.
The midwife gave me info on the Brewer pregnancy diet. Has anyone heard of it? It makes a lot of sense, but they want you to eat a lot of food! She said that I need to gain 35 pounds minimum, but she definitely doesn't mind if I gain more. I had my blood drawn this evening (9 tubes!), and they are running a bunch of tests. I am mostly interested in my thyroid level (I am hypothyroid), because I think my synthroid may need to be increased.
I have only gained 3 pounds so far, which is good because I thought I had gained 5! Urine glucose, protein and ketones were all negative. Blood pressure was 120/70. That's the highest it's ever been! I think I was a little excited. :)
She calculated my due date by my LMP to be June 5th, but I am going to keep my date as the 6th based on my O date.
My next appointment is on November 8th!

Hi girls, just checking in. (Waving at Orange, it will be so fun to have our 2nd babies together too :) )
I haven't had any PG symptoms yet. Not really peeing a lot, no morning sickness, no sore BBs - Nothing. Since my last pregnancy ended in miscarriage, I am just wishing that I would "feel" PG now to help put my mind at ease. My first Dr. apt is in 2 weeks, I am going to go crazy waiting for that 2 weeks!
Sabriel, congrats on your first apt. Sounds like it went well.
excitedbride, glad to have you here too. Keeping my fingers crossed that everything goes well for you!
Hi girls!!
Welcome to all our newbies!! I am far behind on my SO's but I did see all of your updates... I took yesterday off from work to do a little shopping... (not for me... but for xmas)..
Lindsay!! I Am with you on feeling like a cow... I am sure I have put on a few lbs... and tonight I am walking the tread mill! My clothes fit but are tight and i get so annoyed.. because I think "This should not be happening just yet so that means I must be eating like a pig".... which I must say my diet was always terrible and now since my BFP I have been eating more and eating better food!... So maybe my body is not used to all the good/healthy food... LOL...
No M/S but tired... cranky and can be very emotional... which the emotional part is very strange for me.... (not tired and cranky)..;)
I hope everyone is having a wonderful day!

Okay, I was going to wait a couple more days to join, but I’m been lurking in here for a while and am ready to become a member.
CC Name: ds2003
Me: Carla, 27 (I turn 28 on Saturday)
DH: N, 32
Married: 11.08.03
TTC: 6.04
BFP: 10.09.05
EDD: 6.21.06
Gender Prediction: I would like a girl and DH would like a boy
I am very excited to join this group. DH and I started TTC about 17 months ago. I have PCOS and had ovarian drilling done back in May of this year since I was annovulatory. I started ovulating on my own after the surgery. Thanks to the additional help of Femara, an IUI and prayer we are finally going to be parents. Our little pumpkin is due on the longest day of the year.
Here is my attempt at some of the QOTDs.
We do not plan on finding out the sex. I want it be a surprise and I don’t want to end up with a whole lot of pink or blue clothes; although I know I will get plenty after the birth.
I’m really debating keeping our name choices a secret. We will probably go to the hospital with some choices and make the final selection after we see our baby.
So far only the only other person that knows we are pg is one of my co-workers/friends. She dealt with infertility and recommended the RE we are seeing. She pretty much knows everything we have experienced. Our plan is to tell our parents at Christmas. That is over 10weeks from now so I hope we can keep it to ourselves that long. I will be hard since we will see both sets over Thanksgiving. We may just tell them at that point.
I have not been experiencing m/s, but I’m not even 4 weeks yet. I’m not overly tired. I am peeing a lot, but I’m also drinking a lot more water. I feel like I’m always hungry. My bbs are mildly sore.
I had my first blood test this morning at 13DPO. My hCG was 86 and my progesterone was 23. I go back on Thursday for a repeat test. If my numbers are good. I’ll have an appt 2-2.5 weeks after that and if that goes well, I’ll be released to my ob/gyn

It's a beautiful day today and I'm so excited and nervous that I had to pop in and share.
Welcome to all the new pg ladies, h&h 9 months and can't wait to share this journey with you!! :)
Ob called back with my bloodwork from yesterday and my BETA went from 937 to 2611 in 2 days !!!!!!!!!!! Holy crap right???!??!??!??
My progestrone went from 11.5 to 15 in 2 days and that is BEFORE the supplements I started last night. So we have one sticky baby so far
I asked if that meant multiples and she said she doesn't want to assume so we will just hold tight until my first appointment which is Oct 16th at 145pm.
DH has gotten more excited with each passing day. He rubs my belly(well more like my pooch since I'm already plus sized) goodbye in the morning and says the prayers with me each night that he/she is sticky. I know he will cry when we hear the heartbeat, but of course I will be sobbing I'm sure so he's welcome to.
I'm on a hunt for a house to lease/rent. Our living room is a nice size, but with a swing and a playpen there won't be move to walk. I haven't mentioned it to Dan yet because I don't want to freak him out about money, and we just signed our lease on our apt again in august. We can't buy right now because we don't have the closing costs $$ or down pmt and that's ok, as long as we can find a bigger place. I'm sure once we have our first appt it will help him grasp that we might need a bigger home.
Work is calling.SO's later! Love ya all!

Welcome ds2003! ~ Wow, what a long journey you have taken to get here. Congratulations!
taraw ~ I'm sorry you are so worried, I know it's tough. I can't wait until your appointment gets here so that you can feel better!
Ryan and LindsaySD ~ I so need to start exercising, but by the time I get home from work and do chores around the house, I'm exhausted! I'm about 20 pounds overweight to begin with, so I don't want to gain much weight at all.
excitedbride ~ My dryer has been doing that ever since I can remember!:D
I just had mexican for lunch and needless to say, I need some TUMS!:p

Just checking in. I'm excited to see this thread filling up! Still not many symptoms for me, although I'm feeling a bit crampy today. I thought I was done with the cramping, but I guess not.
We got all the telling of our families done this weekend. The only one left who doesn't know is my brother but I'm waiting to tell him since he's coming to visit me in a couple weeks so I will tell him in person. I have onegood friend who I'll probably tell this weekend but other than that we'll be waiting until after we hear the heartbeat before we tell anyone else.
I'm feeling a bit bloated but I'm happy to report that I haven't really gained any weight yet. I started gaining right away with my DD and never slowed down so I'm working hard (well sort of - I do have an empty m&m packet in my trash right now) at not having a repeat performance.
Here's a QOTD since we don't have one yet. What are you drinking? I always had a glass of wine with dinner so I'm at a loss as to what to drink all the time. So far, I'm drinking a ton of milk. I also just this weekend started pouring a glass of seltzer water and then putting a splash of juice in it and that is really good! I try to be careful not to drink too much juice because it really is mostly empty calories.

OMG DS!!! I am so excited for you!!! Congratulations!!!!! :D Sending you major sticky vibes!!! Good luck keeping the secret until Christmas!
Ramona, Yay for super high numbers!!! :D
QOTD: I have been drinking a ton of water and more milk than usual and some juice here and there. More orange juice than usual. Water always tastes so good though!

QOTD – I drink mostly water. I have a glass of OJ in the morning since I love OJ. I usually have cereal for breakfast so there is my milk. For dinner I sometimes have lemonade when I crave a sweet drink. At work I drink water and occasionally have a soda (not diet and not caffeneited). I’ve given up aspartame and am limiting my Splenda intake.

You are so right! With DD, I tried to cut out all diet drinks for a week to drink juice. Yeah, I gained 6lbs that week!! The sugars in juices are SO bad for you, but my dr. never told me that. I went back to my old habits and ended up losing a little over 5 of those lbs.

Wow! You girls are keeping busy in here today. Why do I have to be so busy at work?!
QOTD ~ I'm trying to drink more water but sometimes it makes me gag. I've given up my diet soda and am trying to add lemon juice to water which seems to help. When I really want something other than water it's lemonade for me.
Welcome to the newbies! H&H 9 months to you!

QOTD: I have been drinking a lot of water, I have a glass of juice in the morning, plan to start drinking a glass of soy milk during the day...if I want something different then water I'll add a tiny bit of lemonaid to the water or a tiny bit of flavored tea. I am still trying to break the diet soda habit...but have dramatically cut back.
I got my Betas back from yesterday...so on 12DPO it was 114 (according to Beta Base the average is 44)...and at 15DPO it was 559, so my doubling time was 31.39 hours. Based on that I was able to schedule my first appointment.

Calla Lilly Yay for good betas!
Welcome ambam!
QOTD I have been drinking 64 oz. of water a day. I also have a regular soda everyday (I can't give it up!) Other than that, I drink milk or juice.
I have been feeling nauseous again, mostly at night. My allergies are horrible. :(
I am really frustrated with work. I was a vet tech until we started TTC, when I switched to working as a receptionist. Now (after I told them that I am pregnant) I have been scheduled to work 4 days in the next 2 weeks as a tech. I have tried and tried to get out of it, but everyone at work thinks it's no big deal. There are so many things I can't do anymore! I can't take x-rays, develop them, be around inhaled anesthesia or lift/restrain large dogs. That's just about my whole job! I'll have to wear gloves to do just about everything. Also, it is constant running around on my feet for 7 hours with no break. :( I am just not looking forward to it at all. I am probably freaking out for nothing, but it really upsets me that no one will listen when I tell her that I don't feel comfortable working that position. I told her that I was upset that she scheduled me 2 shifts as a tech, then the next thing I knew she scheduled me for 2 more shifts.
Sorry for the ranting. :o
I got really freaked out today. I think I lifted too much at work, and I was having a lot of intense cramping afterwards. I have just been vegging out on the couch and drinking a lot of water for the rest of the day. No more lifting for me!
Hope the rest of you girls had a better day!

Welcome to the newbies! CONGRATULATION'S!
QOTD I drink water all day! I think I am addicted to it.;)
Sabriel That really sucks about your work. I can't believe that after you told them you wouldn't be comfortable, they went and scheduled you for two more shifts. Is there any way you can get a note from your Dr. saying you can't do that position? When I was pg with my DS, I was looking for a different job. I applied for a job at the vet in Petsmart, they offered me the job, but I turned it down as I was afraid that a pg woman wouldn't be the best for that position.
Sabriel
10-11-2005, 09:23 PM
Calla Lilly Yeah, they know that i won't be able to do these things, but I'm not sure who is going to do them? There will be another tech there, but she will be in surgery all day so I don't know how much she will be able to help. Oh well! If I can't do something I am just going to have to tell them "no". I just think that I am going to feel pretty worthless.
excitedbride I think talking to my midwife is a good idea. She said that she would be willing to write me a note for work if I need her. She told me at my appointment that she believes we know our bodies and our pregnancies best and if we think we shouldn't be doing something, then we probably shouldn't be!
I am already feeling better about it though. I think my whining helped! Sorry you guys had to listen to it. :o

Sabriel That is good that your m/w will write you a note. Glad you are feeling better about. Vent all you want in here.

I was opening a yogurt today and realized I bought light. Ugh. Took a bite, realized it didn't quite taste right. It has aspartame in it. Yuck! Guess I won't be eating those!
ds2003
10-12-2005, 03:23 AM
Sabriel - I would expect that someone i the pet industry would realize the possible dangers or being around pets while pregnant. It is nice that your m/w will right a letter. I hope the person on the receiving end takes it seriously.
excitedbride - i know it is easy to forget about aspartame when it comes to stuff like yogurt. I had yogurt on Saturday and I didn't even check. I didn't know i was pg yet, but I did suspect it. Thanks for the reminder.
Welcome ambam!
Hi girls:
QOTD: I have always drank water so I am still on that kick and once in a great while I will have a diet soda.. never really got in orange juice and I am lactose intolerant.. so that gets rid of milk..:)
ambam & DS WELCOME
I am only at my 5 week mark but I do not have any signs of m/s and/or bad tastes... NOT THAT I AM COMPLAINING....:D .. I actually hope they both stay away!
My BBS ARE SO TENDER AND HAVE AT LEAST moved out of this bra size... in fact I was trying to sleep on my stomach last night and IT HURT SO BAD.... (which is strange because I am a SMALL B) and now things are changing.
As for yogart.. does all light yogart have aspartame in it? I usually eat the light yogart as well and I did not even think to look at its contents.... hmmm

I was going to wait until my first appointment to join this thread, but I'm feeling so happy and optimistic about this pregnancy that I'm joining now!
CC Name: amurphy
Me: 30
DH: B, 33
Married: August 24, 2002
TTC: May 2005
BFP: October 10, 2005
EDD: June 21, 2006
Gender Prediction: I don't have a prediction yet....
Any other children: This is our first!
First appointment: October 24
I got a faint BFP on Monday morning at 12DPO and a darker one on 13DPO. To convince me that I am pregnant, my body decided to make me quesy, crampy, and tired yesterday. That's okay though. I've been waiting a long time for this so I won't complain! I am feeling better today! :D
Who have we told? For now, just me, DH, my two co-workers, and my friends on the TTC w/ charting, and my doctor's office know that I'm pregnant. We are planning to tell my family this weekend! We have a big party planned for the second weekend in November, which is probably when we will tell our friends. They will definitely notice that I'm not drinking.
Finding out the sex?We do not plan on finding out the sex. I can see the appeal of finding out before the birth, but I want that joy of hearing the doctor tell us in the moment the baby arrives.
Name? We've mentioned some names to my family but we will likely keep the final choices to ourselves until the baby is born. My DH has a boy name that he loves, which I wasn't crazy about at first but it has grown on me. I have a girl name picked out but my DH hates it. I have 9 months to convince him it is the perfect name for our baby girl!
MS? I felt like crap yesterday--quesy, crampy, and fell asleep on the couch at 7 p.m. I felt a little crampy/quesy this morning but felt better after eating breakfast. My bbs are a bit sore when touched but not too bad.
Drinking? I drink a lot of water. I keep a 1 liter bottle on my desk that I refill during the day. I've already switched to decaf coffee--not a big deal since I only drink one cup a day anyway.
Okay. I think I'm all caught up....

Congrats amurphy!
My day started our pretty well. I went into the bathroom to put my contacts in and my DH had used one of my concealer sticks to write "I LOVE YOU! 114 bpm Cool A?" on our bathroom mirror. The 114 bpm is what the baby's heart rate was at the sonogram. Is that sweet or what? We will be married 15 years this December and I guess we still love each other.;)
O.K., what's the deal with aspartame? I haven't kept up on the all things that aren't good for you while pg.

Congrats to the newbies!! Look at all of these new mommies coming out of the woodwork!
Feeling pretty good today...lots of mild cramping though. It's low and to the right. Just achy enough to bother me, but not painful. I'm not sure what it is!
Eating is getting more & more difficult. I'm hungry and don't have m/s, but NOTHING sounds good to me. But I would kill for a McDonald's cheeseburger...is that on my pregnancy diet?

Hello all :D
Welcome to all the new mommies :D
ambam You got your BFP on my birthday :D
I'm feeling like crap. I'm always queezy and no matter what I eat, it turns my stomach :(
I spoke to the nurse at my dr's office yesterday and she said that even though every pg is different, the norm is whatever you feel for the first, you'll feel for the rest, your body reacts to the hormones the same way, boy or girl. So on that note, I remember around 12/13 weeks I started feeling better. 5 1/2 weeks to go :/
Kaeden's Mommy We are in for fun with 22 month olds and new babies. I have absolutely no family around here. We live in New Castle, DE and there are some in NY and the rest is in VA. My plan is to get a schedule for when they can visit, one a week, so I have some help with Niko. Right now, that is my biggest fear. Being alone with a newborn and a very active 22 month old.
QOTD: I'm not drinking a whole lot of anything. I can't seem to get anything down. Which I know is also not helping with the queeziness. If I do drink, it's water or green tea.
Old QOTD: Names. We'll decide on a name before hand, but not tell anyone IRL.
Let me tell ya what happened with Nikolas. When we found out he was a boy, we mentioned that we were thinking of Nikolas or Niko as a nickname. My sister said, "that sounds like something you'd name a dog". My best friend said, "Nikolas sounds like the name of an old man." My mom had a fit that I wasn't naming him after Brian's dad (old school Italian), and said Nikolas had no meaning to her. Everyone had an opionion.
So when we decided on a name, I sent out an email and said: "We have a name for the baby. However, we're not going to tell anyone until after he's born. Some of you had your opinions and didn't think of our feelings and gave us your thoughts even though they were rude, mean and insulted our possible first decision . So on that note, you'll find out when he's born." Well, needless to say, that opened a can of worms. The people that had given their rude opinions were upset. I told them they had no right to be upset, think of how they made us feel. My mom blew her top that I wouldn't tell her. All of a sudden I was obeying my husband who was a control freak  Mind you, Brian isn't the furthest thing from a control freak, and it was my decision not to tell anyone.
Anyway, he's Nikolas and no one said anything when he was born. If they did, we were going to cut them out of his life. Sounds horrible, but if you can't accept his name, then you can't accept him.
So we're not telling anyone this one's name until after the birth, except for you all here :D
New QOTD: Thinking ahead to when the baby comes, what is your biggest fear?
For me, it's being here away from family, and getting a new double stroller that will fit in the trunk of my car. Seems a little out there, but we're going to need one.
ds2003

New QOTD: Thinking ahead to when the baby comes, what is your biggest fear?
My biggest fear is starting all over. I have two older DD's, one is 10, the other is 7. We don't have any baby stuff, we had gotten rid of it all thinking we were done. It's going to be a big change having a little one in our house again and adjusting to doing our activities with a little baby. Both of my DD's are involved in sports, especially softball which involves traveling for tournaments. I hope it's not too stressful.
ETA ~ Congratulations sunshineab622!

Wow, we have a lot of June 21 due dates!! Welcome and congrats to all the new mommies!
Lindsay, I've been having a lot of cramping too. I think it is just the baby getting istelf further implanted in the uterine lining. I remember having it last time as well.
rene' THat's so cute of our DH! Oh and on the aspartame, it's not recommended during pregnancy. I don't think there are conclusive studies, but most people seem to think that you should minimize it. I think that Splenda is considered to be more safe, but it could also be because it hasn't been around as long. I had been eating a lot of Splenda-containing food but I'm trying to cut it out at least for the first trimester. It's hard though!
QOTD I'm worried about managing a baby and a toddler! My toddler will be almost 3, so hopefully it won't be too bad. I'm sure she will be jealous of all the attention the new baby gets though.

I just got my second beta back (488 -- up from 184 on Monday), and I think I'm ready to join up. After TTC for so long, it's hard to believe. It took us many months of charting, an IUI and 2 IVF cycles to get here. I still feel like a bit of an imposter at this point. I'm assuming that goes away once the m/s arrives. :p
Anyway, I'll do my best to get caught up on the QOTDs at some point. Right now, though, I need lunch!

HUGE CONGRATS to all the new posters. KaedensMommy is right saying this thread moves so fast...sheesh :) That means more mommies though and that's awesome!
[New QOTD: Thinking ahead to when the baby comes, what is your biggest fear?
The actual delivery(i'm a pain wuss!) and being able to live comfortably money wise. We don't have a lot of savings and will obviously do our best but I don't want to be strapped ya know?

Welcome Jad!
QOTD ~ My biggest fear right now is juggling my time with work (after maternity leave), marriage, a 22-month old busy little boy, and the needs of a new baby in addition to housework, errands, etc.

CONGRATULATION'S to all the new mommies to be!:D
Aspartame The yogurt I was eating was Yoplait. Not sure if all light yogurts have it. I just know that you are supposed to stay away from fake sugars like that while pg. Not sure what can happen. But I don't like the taste of them anyway.:)
Nikosmommy I am going to be the mommy of a 24month old and a newborn also! That is just terrible the way people reacted to the name you had picked out. You have me thinking twice about telling people the name we choose.
QOTH My biggest fear is taking care of two children by myself.

QOTD: Right now I think I’m so excited that I haven’t had a chance to even think about my fears. I am just ready to start this new chapter in my life. Once the excitement settles, I’m sure I’ll have some fears to share.
What baby site do you use for updates and info? I want to sign up for one of those daily/weekely email updates, but I don’t know which to choose. Which site do you like most?

Congrats AMurphy and Shouldaeloped and all the other newbies! :D Glad this thread is growing so fast!!!
QOTD: I am also afraid of the pain factor and the financial burden. But I am just so happy this happened that I try not to worry about either of them too much! :)
DS, I use Baby Center (www.babycenter.com) for my weekly updates. I like them a lot! There are so many sites out there though, you will find one that is perfect for you!
Barely any symptoms today, which I am happy about but it still makes me worry a little bit. I have to get off the worry wagon and just live! No spotting or bleeding or anything like that so I don't know why I am just so scared!

Baby Lust Yay for no symptoms! I understand that it is scary when they are not there though. We can't win! I keep telling myself to enjoy this pregnancy and not worry too much. It works sometimes. ;)
excitedbride Let us know how your appointment goes!
Jad There's always room for more! Welcome and congrats!
Kaeden's Mommy Sorry you are feeling under the weather. I have been really tired lately too.
shouldaeloped Welcome! Thinking very sticky thoughts for you!
Nikosmommy Soprry about the m/s. I hope it leaves you sooner this time around!
LindsaySD I broke down and had a Steak 'n Shake cheeseburger for lunch today. It was calling my name! ;)
sunshineab622 and amurphy Welcome!
ds2003 I think Thanksgiving is a good time to tell everyone. That's probably when we will be telling DHs family.
rene' That is SO sweet of your DH! Reading that made me smile. :)
Dan's*Girl I have definitely been more gassy. Don't think it smells worse than usual though. :o
Ryan Yay for no m/s! My bbs don't hurt, but they are HUGE! I have had quite a few people mention that they are obviously bigger. I definitely can't fit into my smaller bras anymore, and I am quickly outgrowing the 2 that still fit!
I am exhausted after working today. I really admire all pregnant women who work on their feet everyday. I know I couldn't do it! I feel like such a wimp. :( I have been having a lot of painful cramps today and some thick yellow discharge (sorry TMI). I am just going to relax today. I think my body is trying to tell me to slow down.
My mom bought me a new pregnancy book, a pregnancy journal and a baby names book. I just get sucked right into them. So fun!
Hope you ladies are having a good day!

New QOTD: Thinking ahead to when the baby comes, what is your biggest fear?
I have two big fears right now. First, is the actual delivery part. I have a low, low, low pain tolerence. I am such a wimp. The second fear is work. I don't want to quit but I don't want to work full time either. It would be really hard to live on only my DH's pay check and a p/t paycheck from me. But I don't want to do the daycare thing. We will have to figure something out with our work schedules so that one of us will be home while the other is at work.
Plus all of our family is in Ohio. Granted I do have a cousin that lives here. So that is something that worries me as well. What if we get in a pinch and need some help from our family?

I felt the same way before DD, but I promise you, it isn't what you think. The worst part was the IV. I am so terrible...they have to hold my hand when they draw blood. We induced with Caroline, and I went from 3-7cm in less than 1 hour, but it's so fast that you just don't always remember it. My advice: Don't believe everything you watch on TLC or Discovery Health. It's not always that bad!!
ETA: Sabriel, I hope you're feeling better. Don't worry!!!

I guess I would say Labor. I've been through it before but I was 19 and it went fairly painfree after the epidural & went quick. got to the hospital by 9:45 he was born at 1:43 (4 hours) I am praying for a quick & low pain delivery already :) - Also andrew is going to be a big brother I know he will be great but there will be 11 yrs difference in my kids ... that is kinda scary. Diapers, midnight feedings , crying all night ... all over again (LOL) I am sooo happy though.

Thanks for the sticky thoughts girls. We definitely need them. The spotting is either red or pink everytime I go to the bathroom. There is a little more now than before. The cramping is still here too. :( I am calling in sick tomorrow and then I will the midwife as soon as they open in the morning. Why do things always happen after hours?

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!
Excitedbride: Yep, it's me! I kept the same screen name since so many of us are here from the WC. It's great that we can go through our pregnancy together again and swap stories about our 17-mo old boys!
Sabriel: I'm sorry to hear about your scare. You're doing the right thing by staying at home and resting as much as possible. We'll keep our fingers crossed that everything is okay.
QOTD: I have fears about labor just because my first experience was horrible. Not to scare everyone b/c I think I am the exception rather than the rule. Hopefully things will go better the second time around. I also feel kinda sad that my now 17-mo old will have to share mommy and daddy's affection.
sabriel - I hope the midwife has lots of comforting words and that the spotting goes away ASAP.
Going to get caught up on QOTDs and then eventually SOs.
Telling: So far, mostly people who might tell me to do something differently -- allergist, yoga teacher, stuff like that. I've also told the two other people I know who've done IVF and one person at work in case I just *have* to talk about it. :o We'll tell parents and family at Thanksgiving and work shortly after that.
Finding out sex: I don't know. If it's just one, probably not. If it's twins, probably so.
Names: We don't have them yet, but we absolutely will not tell. We used to have a boys name that we thought we'd use, and a certain parental unit made enough uncalled for comments that we won't share in advance. (We've since decided against that name for other reasons, but still!)
Drinking: Mostly water, but I've added in a glass of organic milk in the morning.
m/s: Not yet. I figure I've got two more good weeks and I'm going to take full advantage!
Biggest fear for after the baby is born: Baby? You mean I'm going to have a baby? Holy cow! (i.e. - I'm still getting used to this idea that it's really going to happen. I have some very intellectual "fears" but I'm not really worried yet because it's still so hard to believe.)
And now for one of my own:
QOTD: How much are you exercising and how are you feeling doing it?
I did yoga on Monday and avoided the serious twists, but otherwise it was great. This morning I did cardio and weights for the first time since my BFP on Monday. I *swear* that I got hotter and more tired than usual. But then I wonder if I'm imagining things or if maybe the room itself was just warmer than usual.

Sabriel~HUGS! I'm sure all is ok, let us know what the midwife says.::::sticky baby::::
QOTD: How much are you exercising and how are you feeling doing it?
Honestly, not much right now.I'm so tired and after working all day I do some laundry and things around the house but no official working out. DH and I are going to start tonight taking a walk around our apt complex. 4 times around is a mile so we figure thats a good start and wind down from our stressful workdays.
Another QOTD... Is there anything that your eating/drinking more now than before??
I'm drinking TONS of skim milk, it has to be ice ice cold. Also been barely eating much, just getting full faster. Have been loving cheese and crackers for breakfast.
I've lost 5 lbs already :( But then again I am big to begin with so I guess thats ok right?

QOTD #1 Exercise, what's that? Seriously, since I went back to work after my daughter was born I just can't fit it in. I'm trying to get at least one cardio session in a week but that's probably the most I can manage. I know I would feel better if I did it and I'm constantly trying to figure it out, but there are just only so many hours in the day!
QOTD #2 I'm definitely drinking way more milk (around a gallon a week up from around 1/3 to 1/2 gallon a week). Other than that I'm eating pretty miuch the same. I've been feeling hungry a lot when I go to bed so last night I had a snack of some peanut butter and crackers. I'm trying to be really careful not to eat too many calories because I gained a lot of weight with my DD and I don't want to repeat that. It may be out of my hands, however  I think that if you eat healthfully, your body just gains what it needs and in my case that seems to be 45+ pounds.
Sabriel, still thinking about you! Please update us as soon as you know something.

QOTD: How much are you exercising and how are you feeling doing it?
I have not been to exercise a few weeks :( I know bad girl! I was going to the gym or walking about 3 days a week - I really need to get back to it.
QOTD... Is there anything that your eating/drinking more now than before??
not really .... YET!
Sabriel: Hugs to you sweetie - Youre in our thoughts -
Sabriel... thinking about you this AM
Exercise:
Jad: I am glad you brought this up.... I used to do the eliptical runner at my gym for about 40 mins at least 4 times a week and then lift weights..(ie leg weights and arm weights).... now I have been trying so hard to take it easy, that I feel like I am driving myself crazy... the other night I did the eliptical runner for 15 minutes and rode the bike for about 25 until I felt fatigued and then I immediately stopped. BUT what I am wondering is if I can go back to lifting leg weights and such.. i guess arms would not be so bad... what do you girls think about doing leg weights... good idea or no?

Ryan ~ I've always heard that if you were doing it before pregnancy, than you can keep doing it during pregnancy. It's only things your body isn't used to that you shouldn't start doing.
QOTD #1: I haven't been exercising much. I feel so crappy, I just can't make myself do it right now. However, I have still been playing softball on Sundays and two weekends ago I played flag football and basketball in our Corporate Challenge. I'm really worried about gaining weight, also. So, I need to get back on it.
QOTD #2: I've been craving and eating more salad. Orange juice is something else I am drinking more of. For some reason, it tastes really good.
I found out yesterday that I'm going to Las Vegas in December! It's something through work, but I'm going with two other girls and they are really into shopping and know their way around. I've never been, so I am really excited!
Sabriel ~ Thinking really, sticky baby thoughts for you. I hope you are getting comforting news from the midwife right now.

Sabriel: I'm thinking of you and wishing you the best!
QOTD: Exercise. Like Ryan, I usually go to the gym 3-4 times a week and do the ellipitcal for 45-50 minutes. But I've done NOTHING this week. I'm reluctant to do anything for fear of hurting this baby. I did fight through the fatigue last night and clean my house so my parents aren't grossed out this weekend when they come for a visit, but I kept sitting down every few minutes. I'll get back to the gym next week--likely taking my workout down a couple levels and mixing in walking on the treadmill.
QOTD: Is there anything that your eating/drinking more now than before?? I drinking a lot less wine. Haha! Actually, I've switched to one cup of decaf coffee from my pre-pg one cup of regular, I've switched yogurt brands from Colombo light to Yoplait Original 99% fat free (doesn't have aspartame but does have high fructose syrup), and stopped eating deli meat. I really need to get a pregnancy book to get a complete list of food do's and don'ts.
I'm feeling a lot less crampy. I seem to get a little crampy about 5 minutes after I get out of bed, but they go away pretty quickly. I am making myself eat a low fat granola bar on my drive to work and I think that is helping my stomach. Also, I feel like a little fairy visited me in the night and punched my bbs all night long! My bbs feel bruised! Ugh! But the biggest pain-in-the-butt symptom right now is fatigue, which hits me around 3 p.m. I really can't believe that I managed to grocery shop, make dinner, and then clean the house ... AND have sex last night! :p

I called this midwife this morning. She is sending me to get my hcg and progesterone checked. Then they are going to recheck the hcg on Monday. If I lay down, the cramps seem to go away. The red blood is still there this morning. I was kinda hoping she would send me for an ultrasound.
I'll let you all know when I hear something.
QOTD #2 - I'm w/ amurphy on the drinking less wine! I'm going to try to up my protein sources. I'm a sort-of vegetarian (I eat fish and the occasional piece of bacon.) so I need to be cognizant of how much protein I'm getting. Of course, I don't know that I'm doing a great job of it yet, but I'm trying!
ryan - As for leg weights, everything I've read says strengthening legs is a great idea. Supposedly good for labor although I have no first hand experience, obviously. But I plan to keep doing it as long as it doesn't feel uncomfortable.
amurphy - Wow! That's a productive evening. I can barely get all that done even when I'm no pregnant!
sabriel - Keeping everything crossed for good numbers from the bloodwork!

Sabriel ~ Thinking of you and your baby. Hope you're midwife has great news.
QOTD ~ I haven't been doing much exercising except chasing DS around. I'm too tired at the end of the day. I'd like to get a prenatal workout DVD and try to do that. I like to walk but it's getting cold here so that won't be an option much longer.
amurphy: I am LOL SO HARD AT THIS QUOTE!
"Also, I feel like a little fairy visited me in the night and punched my bbs all night long! My bbs feel bruised"
THAT IS EXACTLY HOW I FEEL.... I am also with you on the fatigue... you and I sound like the EXACT SAME PERSON...(including the deli meats and wine ;) )
I am going to have to try the Yoplait... because I want to watch my calorie/fat intake...
JADThanks for the input on the weights.. I think I am going to hop at it... take it easy of course BUT do some...
Rene: I heard the samething about exercising.. I guess I am just nervous...
Ok you girls made my day!! Thanks!
