Any suggestions for what foods to serve for a girly/sex and the city themed dinner party?

Instead of a sit-down dinner, why don't you just serve heavy apps and lots of alcohol? That way it's more casual and everyone can sit around and chat! Here are my suggestions.
Food:
Bowl of gourmet nuts/sesame sticks
French baguette
Lots of cheeses (brie, camembert, smoked gouda, etc)
Mixed imported olives
Mushroom phyllo puffs
Small platter of thinly slice prosciutto
Dessert:
Chocolate truffles
Drinks:
White and red wine
Cosmos

Pink Martini Recipe
1.25 oz greygoose vodka
0.25 oz lime juice
0.25 oz triple sec
0.25 oz cranberry juice
Serving Instructions
Shake with crushed ice. Strain into glass. Serve in a cocktail glass. Garnish with lime.

Do you get InStyle magazine? In this month's issue there's a whole spread on having a girle viewing party, complete with pink martinins.

Lots of good drinks of course! Fondue? Apps are a great idea.
I like all of AVP941 ideas. A few other ideas:
hot artichoke/spinach dip served with pita chips
crab cakes
hummus and pita chips
guacamole and salsa
antipasto salad
mgrace, what's my boyfriend doing in your signature :D ;)

I completely agree with AVP - seasame seed sticks are the greatest! I also would recommend really good pizza - like goat cheese with shrimp or lobster pizza.....for dessert, chocolate truffles are super (they have great ones you can actually buy at Trader Joe's) or you could also make some chocolate bark (good chocolate with some almonds with some cinnamon, cayanne, and a touch of maple syrup). Have fun!!

SmartGrrl, yes, aren't sesame sticks the greatest little cocktail snack? I have never tried the truffles from Trader Joes, but I love bark. My friend makes the best bark and gives me some every year around the holidays. Yum! You have great ideas too!

Ditto on the InStyle suggestion. They have great ideas in there (as always).

I agree with everyone else...a cycle of tapas and some sangria.
If you have a Trader Joe's, they can hook you up with all things easy and/or frozen. Spinach/phyllo puffs, mini quiche, potstickers/gyoza, smoked salmon, taquitos, olives, tapenade, good cheese, etc.
Have fun!
