I am hoping someone can help me!! I have had some issues lately with being cold. This isn't your normal run of the mill chill. This is chilled to the bone to the point that I can't move and hardly function. My fingers turn blue, lips turn blue and my chest hurts beyond belief. Someone asked me today about me being cold because my lips were blue and she asked if I have ever had my thyroid tested. She said that she is on medication becuase she has the same cold problem. She also said that she has problems with her weight. First her weight won't budge and then all of the sudden she will lose a few pounds for no expainable reason. I have the same problem! So I am jsut wondering if anyone has this problem. I've also looked into it as symptoms of Anemia. Can anyone offer any help? I go into the Dr Oct. 12th. Hopefully we can get it straightened out.
Thanks!

My mom has Reynaud's syndrome, which is where the blood vessels constrict causing someone's extremities to turn blue (usually fingers and toes). Because of it, she is extremely sensitive and feels cold more than other people. I'm not sure that chest pain would be a symptom of Reynaud's, though.
I don't have an answer for you, but did you tell your doctor you're having chest pain? Is it muscular? If it's not muscular and you're having chest pain, I'm surprised your doctor won't see you sooner.

I have Raynaud's Phenomenon and it sucks. Underneath my finger nails is always a purplish/pinkish color and my hands/feet are always freezing cold to the touch. They either stay a perpetual cold or get puffy and pink - i have no control over this, because my body can't regulate properly. (I especially hate when people have to point out how cold and clamy my hands are when I meet people for work).
I would definitely go to a doctor to have your blood tested for thyroid problems. I would firmly ask for an earlier appointment. When I first started having signs of my Raynaud's (when I was 12), the receptionist was going to make me wait a month...that is unacceptable!

thank you all for your support and suggestions!! I appreciate the help.
I went to the Dr yesterday and he is testing my for thyroid disease. I have to go back next wednesday and go over the results of the tests with him. He said that if it is not that he said that it could be depression.

I do not get cold to the extreme that you do, but I am abnormally cold in general, and my PCP said that can happen to people who have had certain diseases, especially in childhood. I was hospitalized with pneumonia when I was about ten, and he claims that can affect the body's ability to regulate itself. So I would suggest not only getting tests done, but going over your medical history with your doctor as well.
