I think the branches would be easier to make, and cheaper (if you went out into the bush and cut some old dead branches yourself) The candle holders you can make by buying votive chandle holders at either Michael's or IKEA with a rim that kind of sticks out so there is a "ledge", and then twisting some thick wire around under the "ledge" and making a looped handle to hang from the branches. Umm...hope that makes sense. :)

I like the look of the branches better than the feathers. But, they might get in the way of conversation flowing across the table.

Another vote for the branches! (I actually considered something very similar a few years ago for my wedding, although ultimately went with something else). They shouldn't get in the way of conversation as long as you make sure they start high enough--above eye level of the guests when they're seated.

I am partial to the second, as that was my inspiration for my wedding. Just beautiful!

Man I have always loved that candle one ever since I saw the original bride that posted it on WC. It's awesome and it worked totally well with her setting (Palm House at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens in NY). What's your setting like? I think that makes a big difference. That centerpiece is rather large so I think you would need a large room in order for them to not overwhelm the room IYKWIM.

I like the second if the room can handle it and it doesn't get in the way of conversation.

The branches...because the feathers kind of make me think that you raided the costume closet for a Vegas show.

I used that branches picture as the inspiration for the decor at my wedding. Everyone commented on how incredible they looked. I didn't use it as my centerpieces because I thought it would be a bit too much. But I had four big ones made that we got married in front of and then some smaller ones we used as decoration in our reception location. My florist made them, so I can't give you any insight about that. But I'll look and see if I have any pics still scanned.

Karina I just moved, so I still haven't found the box with my wedding pictures (or my scanner) but here are some that I happened to have online. You can see the branches, but they're not the best pictures. I didn't do centerpieces, but instead large decor arrangements.

We had one right behind the archway we were married in front of and then two to each side along the wall (sorry, no pics scanned of the whole wall).
