Does any one know what there is to do in Lake Tahoe?

Need some help in finding things to do in Lake Tahoe during the winter, my mother is going to come with us on a ski trip and she doesn't ski so we where looking for things for her to do during the day.

There's the casinos, horseback riding and ice skating. Tahoe City has some darling shops and restaurants. There are spas at some of the larger hotels (Squaw Valley may have one too). It's been a couple of years since I visited, but there was an outlet mall on the South side of the lake. I think it's fun to park myself at one of the restaurants overlooking the lift line and main run at the ski resorts, order cocktails and watch people bite it on the way down the hill.

The North South is a big factor here. North Shore and South Shore are a bit of a windy drive from each other, especially in the winter. Squaw is basically on the South West shore and not really all that close to the casinos.
